What if the real breakthrough isn’t another goal, but a better order? We explore how priorities protect purpose and how alignment with God’s will turns a hazy vision into a plan you can live. I walk through a simple, memorable AUTHOR framework that helps you write the vision, walk it out, and let God publish the results in His timing.

We start with alignment and clarity: before moving, check your direction against Scripture and the Spirit. Then we dig into understanding your assignment, using discernment to separate good opportunities from God opportunities. From there, we talk planning as a faith act—counting the cost, breaking the work into phases, and pairing every step with prayer. I share honest stories about overcommitting, changing dates, and learning to give myself grace without lowering the mission.

Next, we focus on honoring the process. No shortcuts, no panic—just steady obedience where character is forged. I show how to organize life around the vision with practical rhythms: protected prayer time, deep work blocks, and recovery that sustains momentum. Finally, we emphasize refocusing and revisiting regularly. Seasons shift. Priorities evolve. That isn’t failure; it’s growth under God’s hand. Through it all, remember: you’re the author of your vision, but God is the publisher. Write it, walk it, and trust Him to amplify it.

If this resonated, share it with a friend who’s ready to trade busy for fruitful. Subscribe for more faith-forward strategy, leave a review to help others find the show, and tell me: what’s the one priority you’ll protect this week?

I want to say thank you to everyone that has liked, you shared, you commented, whatever you've done. I'm so excited and I'm so happy. And I don't take this for granted. I tell you, being a vessel for Christ is something that I take serious, even when I don't feel like it. Because I'm telling y'all, tonight was one of those nights where I had to say, okay, you know what? Okay, God, yes, I gave you my yes, I'm gonna go. And so this is one of those nights. So y'all pray for your girl, okay? Um, but anyways, I am here, no doubt, and I just want you to go ahead on and share this with someone. Go ahead on and um, you know, send it to someone. Someone needs to hear this. This is why I pushed so hard tonight to get up on here because um, you know, I was super tired, and um, but I said, someone needs to hear this because it kept, it was like a tug and a pull. And so um, so make sure you are sharing this with someone. You are going to the website at www.qforchrist.com. You are also going to the YouTube channel and liking and subscribing and hitting that notification button. You go on to the TikTok, you go on to the Instagram, you go into LinkedIn, go wherever. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's that that's that's where we at. That's where we at in these days and times. Go go wherever, wherever um you listen to podcasts at. Go, you know, go there. Um, so, anyways, I am like I said, I'm um, I'm up here tonight. As you know, this is the Cube for Christ show. And um, usually I have someone on here, but tonight I want to, it's a special night because I wanted to be able to give you some of the content that we had um that I gave at the Beyond the Pages. And I am not gonna go in full depth because later on I'm gonna come and I'm gonna bring bring that all to you. But um, you know, I do have that where I tonight I wanted to kind of go into a little bit of it. Um, so anyways, I want to bring to your attention, okay. I am in um the the um fabulous over 40, right? So I want all of y'all to go and vote. Go vote. I want to be, you know, uh we I'm voting, oh, we're voting, and I'll get an opportunity to, you know, win um$40,000. That would really, really help towards the ministry. Um, not only that, I'll be able to be featured in the magazine, which I do have a feature in this magazine, but I'll be able to be featured in the beauty um magazine. So go and vote. Like it don't take but a few minutes. And here's the flyer. I know y'all done seen this this this flyer right here floating around, but um go go and vote. Here is the link um right there for you. You can go into um the fab40.org forward slash 2025 forward slash Kiana dash B56B. And I'm telling you, tomorrow um, you know, I'll be able to move to the next one. The more votes I get, I'll be able to move to the next level. And um, I'm so excited because I think I'm like, you know, I'm I'm in the top 20, but I want to be, you know, want to be up there. But I I want you all to make sure you are going going there. And here's the link again. Go there and you um go vote. Vote tonight, tomorrow. Um, it ends tomorrow, after tomorrow. Then once I I find out I'm in the next run up, um, then we'll start back voting again. Okay, so yes, I'm excited. Make sure you are doing that. Make sure you are um, like I said, going there, going to the YouTube channel, going all there, all around. So, anyways, as I said tonight, um, I am going to just kind of piggyback off for an acronym that I dropped. Y'all know I'm an acronym queen, but um I'm gonna piggyback off of an acronym that I dropped at the at the Beyond the Pages, and I'm gonna kind of bring it together because tonight I want to talk about setting priorities. We have to make sure that we are prioritizing everything, and um, so I want to say a prayer and then I'm gonna go right into it because I'm not gonna hold you all long tonight. I have a long weekend, and so I'm not gonna hold you all too long. So, anyways, dear Heavenly Father, God, I say thank you. Thank you for this time, thank you for carving this time out for me to be able to get up here to speak with your children. God, we thank you now because we know that whatever you have given me, it is for someone, it is some bread and some meat for someone to eat, God, tonight. And so we thank you now, allowing me to be able to be in the kitchen and cook this message up for your people. And we thank you now, God. We want to make sure that it gets to the right person. And so we we love you, God, for touching the hearts of your people, the minds of your people, allowing them to receive what you are giving, God. And we thank you for everything that you're doing, God, God. We thank you for um restoration, we thank you for um um regeneration. We thank you now, God, for just refocusing um all the things that we have thought that was lost, but you are giving it back to us, God. And we thank you for everything that you're doing, God. We thank you for your healing that you are healing your people on tonight. God, we thank you now for just going with your family, with my family, God, touching them from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. Everybody that is connected to me, God, I thank you now for touching them, God, and even the ones that are connected via um uh cue for Christ or just being able to be with us. God, we just thank you now because we know that you are with us, and so we just love you, we honor you, God, for what you're doing in the lives of your people. I ask you to hide me behind the cross, allow your word to come forth, God. Allow someone to be able to hear what you have given me. And so we thank you for everything that you're doing. We love you, we honor you, we cherish you. It's in Jesus' name that I pray. Amen and amen, hallelujah. So, uh, so, anyways, like I said, I um am piggyback, piggyback, I am piggyback, um, often an acronym that I dropped at um Beyond the Pages. And one of the things that I talked about at Beyond the Pages was being being the um, we was talking about becoming um your book, but we uh what I talked about is about being the author of your vision, right? And the thing about it, um, a lot of people don't understand that you know being an author is not just writing a book, it's all about how you um when God give you that vision, you have to write it down. Okay, you know, the Bible says in Habakkuk 2 and 2, write the vision and make it plain. And so we have to make sure that we are um not only writing, you know, just to say we're writing a book, but you are also writing down your plans, you're writing down um the, you know, the um whatever God vision that God has given you, you know, if you want to be in um a podcaster, if you want to be a content creator, you have to write those things down. That is the vision that God has given you. And so you have to learn how to do those things. And um, one thing that I like I said, the acronym that I gave, it was very powerful because at the end of the day, we are our own authors, right? And we have to take take responsibility of our actions, and so um we have to understand that we are the author of the vision that God has given us, right? And I even went to saying how you know, if you want to be um your own business, like like you know, entrepreneur, you gotta write that stuff down. You can't you can't just wake up one day and say, oh, I'm a I'm gonna start a I'm gonna start, you know, this 500 company, Fortune company, and think that you ain't gonna write nothing down. You have to write it down. So that is you being the author of your vision. And so um the acronym that I gave was for the art for Arthur, it was to activate your assignment, meaning that faith without words, like it says in James 2 and 17, faith without works is dead, and so you have to activate that assignment, you have to put it into place, you have to put it into motion, right? And then the you is um understand your unique purpose. Um, just like it says in Romans 12, 16, we have different gifts according to the grace, so we have to be able to understand our um unique purpose, right? And and this is just the acronym that I'm that that I dropped at Beyond the Pages, and so um tonight it's gonna be a little bit different um because it's gonna be talking about setting your priorities, anyways. The T is to trust God's process, meaning that um, like it says in Proverbs 3, 5 through 6, trust the Lord with all your heart and lead not to your own understanding, and um and trusting the process, you know, that is difficult in itself because if you're looking at the like if you're looking at your, you know, what's in front of you, it is hard to really trust the process. It's hard to say, okay, I know I'm gonna do it when you're looking at your banking account, your banking account telling you no, like it is different, it's hard, right? But you have to be able to trust the process as being the author of your vision, and then the H means um that the letter that God gave me um is to heal through your story, right? He heals the broken heart, like it says in in Psalms 147 and 3. We have to be able to know that God is going to heal us through our stories. I never forget when I was writing um the book, when I was writing my book, I would write things down that I had suppressed for years. And uh and God allowed it, you know, and and I had to allow God to heal me with those stories. And it was difficult, but it will, you know, it was, you know, that's how you become that author, right? And then you um the O, which is on your voice, like it says in Jeremiah 1 and 19, I have put my words in your mouth, and so we have to understand that we are owning our voice, and then as the last R um is to release your message to the world, is you like it says in Matthew 5, 14, you are the light of the world. So that is what being author of your vision is about all about. You know, you have to understand that you um not just called to really write it, you're called to walk it out. That is the reason why the Bible says in Hebakah 2 and 2, write the vision, make it plain so those that see it may run with it. Because you got to be able to walk this vision out. You got to be able to allow God to, you know, um to use your story so they can so people can run with it, others can run with it. Okay, so tonight what I wanted to do is to talk about um how we're walking through it, but how to keep your priorities aligned with using this Arthur framework, right? You know, we have to understand that it is a practical roadmap for staying focused on what matters the most. And we have to understand that because you know, I was sitting there thinking about um certain things, and you know, my thing is I can say yes to everything, right? I'm uh I ain't gonna say I'm a yes person. Trust me, I done got to the point where I know how to say no. But, you know, when it it sounds good and it's something that I really want to do and I like it, I have to be able to understand that God has called me to something different. So I have to be able to set my priorities um to the point where they align with what God is calling me to do. And that's what came to mind today. It's like, oh my God, you got all this stuff going on, but what is priority now for you in this season as the author of your vision, right? Yes, God has given me so many different visions, but I can only walk them out one at a time, right? I cannot be the author of them all at the same time. So I have to make sure that I'm prioritizing what God has called me to do, not versus versus what Kiana really wants to do. Okay, and I don't know who that is for because it is somebody out here that is really, really trying to stick their plans into what God has called them to do, instead of sticking God's plan into what you need to be doing. And okay, so we want to make sure that we are doing that, and so with with this framework, sticking with the the word Arthur, um, for setting priorities, we want to talk about the A, which means that we have to align with God's will, right? Before you move, you must make sure you're moving in sync with his voice. Because a lot of the time, like I said, we can be we could be saying, This is what we want to do, you know. Oh, I always, I always wanted to do this, I always want to do that, and that could not be what God is calling you to do, right? The Bible says in Proverbs 3 and 6, um, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. So we have to make sure that we are prioritizing properly, you know, so we want um get in the way of what God wants us to do, right? You know, it's hard for you to do that if your direction isn't divine, right? And like and like I say, you know, the plans of our heart may be one thing, but God is like, no, I need you over here, you know what I'm saying? But when your heart is aligned with God, your priority naturally fall into place, right? And so we have to make sure that we are not trying to um add our plans on it, but we are doing what God has called us to do in aligning with him because it brings that clarity, right? And that is what fuels your purpose is that clarity. That right there will help you at the end of the day, when you can see where you're going, you are um nine times out of 10, you are going to be able to do it, do it with ease, right? Because, you know, if you if you're not clear, you it's gonna be hard, right? And so the next one is the you, which is understand your assignment. And so, you know, I talk about understand all the time, like that's in the that's in the um the acronym, the Q acronym, understanding. We have to be understanding of the assignment, you have to be understanding of what God has have called you to do because if you're not, then it's gonna be hard for you to even to align your um to align with God's will because you don't understand the assignment. You know, I know a lot of people read up, I understood the assignment, you know what I'm saying? And that is that is so serious, you have to make sure that you are understanding the assignment. The Bible says in Jeremiah 1 and 5, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. That means your calling was written before the story began, like literally, you know what I'm saying? Everything that we are doing, God, it was already, it was already God given. And so we have to um stop saying yes to everything and just know that our assignment is is God given, right? And um, and one thing that you have to do is to start discerning what deserves your time and what distracts your destiny, you know, and I and like I was saying, um every time you know somebody asks me to do something, I'm usually be like, yeah, yeah, I could do it, I could do it, I could do it. Or, you know, lately I've been trying to say, okay, no, I don't need to add anything else to my plate. And then I be trying to figure out how I can add it to my plate, and then and then I have to end up coming back and saying, Oh, I double booked myself, or oh this, or oh that. But we have to make sure that we know that every good opportunity isn't a God opportunity, so we have to focus on what fits our calling, focus on what God is calling us to do, where he's taking us, right? And that is the main thing right there, you know. And so the next one is to take um the T, take time to plan. And this is big with a lot of people because a lot of people think that they can just they can just go and then the plans are come with them. And when God has called you, you have to make sure that you are you are properly planning out things, right? Um, just like with the conference, I you know, I and I started, we started planning the conference in January, and I know I could have did better, you know, even though I had other stuff, you know, that came up, a lot of different obstacles that came up and stuff like that. But we took time and planned it, but it still was um, it still was, you know, we could have did it better. But so you want to make sure that you are taking time to plan it. The Bible says in Luke 14, 28, suppose one of you wants to build a tower, won't you first sit down and estimate the cost? Right? You can't sit up there and just say, you know what, I'm gonna go. And and don't get me wrong, God can trust me, trust me, God can get can can do that. But at the at the end of the day, when He when He's giving you a vision, you want to make sure you are taking time to plan it. Planning is forming is a form of faith. Um, when you make a plan, you're saying, God, I believe you're going to bring this to pass, so I'm preparing in advance. And that is the thing that we have to understand is that we are um we have to take time to plan these things out, right? You can't just get can't get up with a with a vision and say, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna start this company and it's gonna be, you know, just just great success, right? You know, we want to make sure it said break break your vision into phases, ask what must happen now, and what can't wait and what needs prayer first. And I think that you know, I'm I'm one of the ones that prayer comes like we have to, have to, you know what I'm saying? Because of the thing about it, you want that that guidance, right? But you also want to know, okay, what because we know success loves speed, so you want to have to make sure that okay, what to what to go ahead on to do first, or what to go ahead on because God has already given you the okay, and then you want then you want to make sure that you are you know stopping and saying, Okay, God, I need help with this. Okay, you told me to do this, you told me to do that, and I'm doing this, I need help with this, okay. And so that is, you know, one of the things that we have to do. And then the next one is age, which is honor the process, okay. The Bible says in Galatians 6 and 9, let us not be become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. And we have to honor this process, meaning that we have to take pride in what we're doing. Give yourself some grace on certain things. When God tells you to stop, you know, then stop. Honor this process, honor what God is doing, right? We know that the process is where preparation happens. Like you can you can't uh prioritize shortcuts and expect long-term success. So you want to honor the process because my mom, my mom always says to us, You can't you can't leave late and get there on time. Or she said you can't leave that, you can't leave late and get get there early, or something like that. You know what I'm saying? So we have to make sure that we are honoring this process that God has given us because of the simple fact that we are writing, we have already wrote the vision, so now we are prioritizing everything, and we have to honor the process. If it goes, you know, goes a little bit longer. We can't rush the middle chapters of the story, right? That is where the masterpiece happened, that is where God is writing, that is where God is doing, so you have to honor this process, right? And then the next one is to organize your life around the vision, and that is big right there because a lot of people, when when God tells them to do stuff, you know, it's hard because life is always gonna be life. And I ain't gonna say a lot of people, a lot of us, right? Because I could be like that as well, where I'm looking like, okay, God, you call me to do this, but uh um, do you not see what's going on, right? But sometimes we have to say, you know what, I'm going to organize my life around the vision and not the vision around my life, okay? And um, you know, we want to make sure that we um are doing all things decent and in order, like it says in 1 Corinthians 14 and 40, right? And so we have to make sure that we are organizing um our life around the vision, everything like when I was doing Behind the Pages, um doing you know, doing a conference, I know people got tired of me talking about it, but that was the vision. So I had to organize my life around that, right? Discipline is a spiritual gift, and so um order isn't control, it's stewardship, right? And so if you want your life to reflect the it the if you want your life to reflect good, right? And you want your calling to be um to look like structure, you want everything to look good, you must create structure to support it, right? You can't sit up here and say, you know what, I'm just gonna, I'm just you know, I'm a I'ma still go to work and do this, this, this, and and not to not look, no, I ain't tell nobody to quit their job, but you know, the vision, you know, we got to make sure that we are organizing our life around the vision. All right, our life should be the vision. That is what it is. Like when I was writing the book, it was all it was like, oh, okay, I got to, I got to sit down and I got to write this book, I got to do what it is. So it's like, okay, let me cook this certain time because I got to get to writing the book at this time, let me do this. So when I get to the book, you know, you got to make sure that you are doing that. So you want to schedule your priority instead of prioritizing your schedule, right? Protect your peace, your prayer time, and your purpose space. Because at the same time, you got to make sure that you are organizing everything around this vision because this is where what where we are after you became the author of your vision, after you know, wrote it down. Now we are prioritizing everything around our vision, right? And so um that is one of the things that we need to do, and so um the last one is to refocus and revisit regularly, right? It's gonna take some time, and it's gonna take some time for you to say, um, oh, I got, you know, I gotta go back and I gotta re redo this, or I gotta look back over this, or I gotta go and revisit the vision. That's why you have to write the vision and make it plain so you can go back and say, oh, okay, okay, God said, do this, this, this, this, this. And then because sometimes we lose focus. Sometimes we we be worried about other stuff, but and and and looking at what's in front of us instead of seeing what God, the vision that God has already given us, right? We have to make sure that we are often revisioning that vision. We are often that's why we are supposed to write it down, right? It and um Philippians, the Bible said in Philippians 3 13 and 14, forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead. We we want to make sure that we are for not uh letting anything that is behind us. We going back. We gotta keep refocusing. We gotta keep revisiting regularly. Right? Because it sometimes you gotta go back and you gotta say, you know what? I need to change that. I need to change how I did that. I need to set priority. I need to set more goals. Let me go back and do this over. Let me let me do it another way. Right? Your priorities may need to shift as God elevates you. That's not failure, that is growth. And so we have to understand that we um, you know, we are making sure that, you know, whatever we had to go back and change or go back and look at again, we don't, you know, just beat ourselves up and say, don't I should have done it a different way. No, you got to understand that it is you got to give yourself grace. But then here's the thing, I like with, you know, when I did Beyond the Pages, we had uh we had, I think we had three different dates set. Um, and I kept, I was like, okay, I can't keep beating myself up, you know what I'm saying? Um, but we had one day, I had to change that date, and and then I had to go back and change it again. I had another day. Then finally, you know, I had to realize that God just told me to write the vision and make it plain and to do it and to get it done, right? And when I got to that point, I was like, oh, God don't He didn't really give me a day. He He just wanted me to get it done. And I told my team, I said, it's you know, the thing about it, God just wanted it done. And all I knew is that I had to get it done, but I had to keep going back and revisiting, changing this, doing this. I had to go back and you know, even some of the speakers that that was there had to drop out because the dates had changed, and and and it worked out for us good because God had speakers already surrounded me, right? And I and it worked out so good. So we have to understand that sometimes we have to go back, revisit, change, you know what I'm saying? Don't worry about it because it's all in God's plan, right? So you have to understand that you are the author of your vision, but God is the pub, He is the publisher, He's gonna make it happen, right? He is going to make it happen. I don't care what you know what you what this the obstacle is, what you are facing, what is going on. It does not matter, he is going to make it happen, okay? So we have to understand that being an artist isn't just about writing words, it's about living a story that others can read and find God through you. That is the main thing we are trying to uh allow God to uh allow people to see Jesus in us and to see how he changed us, to see how he allowed us to be the author of the vision that he gave us so they can see that they can do it too, so they can see that oh, God gave me a vision, I can get up and do it. That is the main thing. We are trying to get people to see that that is the main thing, and so we are the author of um our own vision, and so we need to figure out where do we need to realign ourselves, like what distractions are getting in the way, right? And we have to make sure that we are taking steps and moving closer to the purpose that God has for them, for you, okay? Because the truth of the matter is priority protects purpose, and that is the main thing that I wanted to get up here to talk to us about, right? I'm talking to us. This is this is us, right? And so we have to understand that we can all the time make sure that we are re um, we are using this framework, the author framework, and you know, and I'm probably be on this for a few uh like a few more weeks because I really feel like we have to understand that we are the author of our own visions, right? Nobody else can do it, nobody else can be um to be, you know, be um over our story, be over our vision. Nobody else has seen the vision. They went on the call when God called you, you know what I'm saying? So you have to make sure that you are um being the author of your vision. And so I um I'm gonna say a quick prayer because I really feel like it's somebody on here that really, really needs to know um that setting priorities is should be number one, especially when God has called you to do something else. We cannot allow um the distractions to come and and keep us from doing what God has called us to do because we are worried about this or worried about that. We have to make sure that we are always doing what God has called us to do, regardless. And so I'm gonna say uh a prayer and then we um will move forward. So, dear Heavenly Father, God, I say thank you for allowing us to be able to hear your word, God. God, we will become the authors of our vision, we will become um set priorities, God, using this framework. We will be able to um do what you have called us to do because you have you have formed us before you knew us before we was even formed, God. And so we thank you for being the author and the finisher of our faith. God, we thank you now for just you being God. We thank you for all the blessings that you have given us. God, we just thank you now. God, we ask you now to help us to be in align with you, God. God, we want to be able to align with your word. We want to be able to do what you have called us to do, God.
