The Queued4Christ Show : Called To Lead- "Lillian Lloyd’s Pastoral Turn"
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Some journeys look linear on the outside—decades on the road, thousands of voices raised, a name known for power and presence. But the truest turn often happens when the lights are low and the room is nearly empty. That’s where Pastor Lillian Lloyd recognized a different pull: not just to sing over a people, but to stay with a people. In this candid, spirited conversation, we open up about calling, authenticity, and the kind of leadership that chooses sheep over spotlight.
Lillian walks us through the early signs—childhood “tours” in a living room recliner, a lifelong love of records, and a ministry forged in small churches without microphones. She names mentors who prayed, prophesied, and sat with teens on a bed until something in them woke up, contrasting that with a modern rush toward speed, optics, and one-way stages. We unpack what it means to stop wearing someone else’s armor, from taking your own musical key with Dr. Karen Clark Sheard to rejecting copycat preaching and showmanship. If the platform trap has ever called your name, you’ll hear a bracing alternative: depth over spectacle, people over performance, Scripture over slogans.
We also get practical and painfully real. Holiness shows up at the checkout line when you go back to pay for the uncharged item. Integrity refuses manipulative “seed” demands and remembers to ask, Did you eat? Shepherding looks like hospital visits, phone calls, and access. And when the warfare spikes—illness, grief in the team, canceled events, even an abusive season—Lillian shows how perseverance is not posturing but promise-keeping. She describes “ad-libbing her way out,” singing prophecy over pain and choosing presence when comfort would be easier.
If you’re a leader, creative, or seeker wrestling with calling, this is your field guide to finishing strong: build a Christ-centered agenda, let mentors shape your care, practice daily Scripture and prayer, and invite God to take over every room you enter. Share this with a friend who needs a push toward authenticity, then subscribe, rate, and leave a review to help more people find these conversations. What part of this story stirred your next step?

Live Kickoff And Housekeeping

Meet Pastor Lillian Lloyd
SPEAKER_01Hey, hey, hey, everyone. This is Kiana, your creator and the host of Cube for Christ. And I am super excited because I am doing something that it is so, so, so, so different than the actual norm that I normally do. And I just, you know, I want to say thank you to everyone that has liked, you shared, you commented, whatever you've done. I'm super excited because I guarantee you that this is a privilege and not a punishment to be a vessel for crisis. So I'm super excited to be here on this Friday. If you are excited to be here, y'all clap your hands, put some fire in the chat, and let us know where you are tuning in from. I'm super excited that you have decided to give me your Friday. Okay. So, anyways, anyways, I want to make sure you go ahead on and you share this live screen with someone because I I guarantee you, you don't want to miss it, right? You do not want to miss it, and you don't want someone else to miss their blessing. So make sure you go to share this and you are going to the website at www.qforchrist.com and you are going to the podcast and liking it. Like, you know, y'all do all that, do all that extra stuff, right? So I'm super excited about this special live podcast that I am having. And I tell you that I am ready, ready, ready. But I want you all to remember that on Mondays, we are live every Monday with the books of the Bible. Make sure you are there for the books of the Bible. Make sure you are um tuning in um on that Monday because you don't want to miss that, okay? So, anyways, anyways, as I say, I have the honor and privilege to be live and in person. And I ain't alone, y'all. Y'all, I know y'all get tired of seeing me sometimes, but I am not alone. I have the honor and the privilege to be able to have a podcast with none other than my sister, Pastor Lillian Lloyd.
SPEAKER_05How are you today? Lillian wonderful, and I'm so happy to be here. I'm so happy to be here. This is a blessing.
SPEAKER_01Man, I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_05We come a long way, girl.
SPEAKER_01Let me tell you, I don't think y'all understand. Pastor Lillian Lloyd, she used to um straighten my hair. And and I used to be the kitchen beautician. She was one of the ones that that started out straightening my hair. And I used to, and I used to be like scared because I'm like, Don't burn me. Oh, don't burn me. But I'm super excited to be able to share the stage with you. This is like our third time being here, but this is our first in person. Yes, she has been on the podcast a couple times and she has blessed my soul. I sat there and laughed, y'all. My cheeks was hurting. Do you hear me? Oh, yeah. So I'm excited about the fact that you are here. I know that I know who you are. I know who she is, y'all. But I'll could you just introduce yourself to everybody that who don't know who Pastor Lillian Lloyd is?
SPEAKER_06Who is Pastor Lillian Lloyd? Well, uh, I'm just me. I am singer, songwriter, uh, producer, and now the new chapter in my life, Pastor. And I've been evangelizing for 30 years all across the country, and now we have gotten to this new phase. I'll be 50 years old in June of this year. And so that is considered the beginning of the second half of your life. And so this this next chapter, this uh my friend says uh this he said halftime is over. You know, the halftime show is over. It's time to jump in at the third quarter and finish strong. Finish the game strong. So that's what we're doing right now, finishing the game strong. I've traveled as an evangelist, traveled as a lead vocalist for Ricky Dillard and New G for over 18 years, and as now as a solo artist, and just still doing music, still doing my theme, working on new music, but now the focus is the pastorate. So that's where we are.
SPEAKER_01Wow. 30 years though?
SPEAKER_0630 years. It doesn't seem like it's been that long, but it has been that long.
SPEAKER_01Look, I'm sitting up here carrying.
SPEAKER_06Carrying the team.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness. You look good though. I'm trying. Like I'm trying. Let me tell you, if I can look good at 50 like that, I'm look, don't play me. Don't play with me. All right. So I'm I'm super excited, and you know, and the thing about it is that I have had that honor, like I said, when we were younger, to look up to you when we were singing in the young coraliers, and we were like, okay, you know, like, you know, and then this. I was still learning. Right. And then when you went off, it was like, oh, okay, Lillian, look at Lillian. That's that's awesome. And uh, and so, but I didn't think it was 30 years. Oh my goodness, oh man.
SPEAKER_05It's actually been longer than that with 30 years, but it's just been 30 years since I started evangelizing and and and touring and whatnot.
Prayer And Spiritual Framing
SPEAKER_01But wow, that's amazing. Yeah, that is so amazing. Well, we're gonna talk about how you step in into your pastorship because I know that that is new, that is something that um, you know, when God calls you, it's it's it's it it could probably be scary to someone, but I'm excited. So, what I'll do right now is I'll say uh a prayer before we go further. We want to make sure we usher in the Holy Spirit, and then and then we'll just jump right into how you know God has cued you to your pastorship. Okay, so dear Heavenly Father, God, I say thank you. I say thank you for this time. God, you knew this time before we did, and so we thank you now for allowing us to be here, God. We know that you are blessing us as we get ready to just give your word to someone, God. We ask you to uh allow someone to hear something that will pierce their heart, God, and they ask, what must they do to be saved? God, we just thank you now for Pastor Lily and Laura for jumping into that pastorship, God. We know that you are going to guide her, we know that you're gonna lead her, we know that anything her hand touched is going to turn to gold. And we thank you now for allowing her to be here, God, in this moment. God, we just ask you now to hide us behind the cross, allow your word to come forth, God, God, not our words, but your word. And we thank you now for what you're doing in the realm of the spirit, God. And so we just love you, God, for who you are, we honor you and we cherish you. It's in Jesus' name that I pray. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah, y'all. I love, I love, I love it, I love it. I'm telling you. I um I I look, I hope she jumped up and sang in a minute, y'all.
unknownNot tonight.
SPEAKER_01Oh man. So, anyways, anyways, I'm super excited about um you being here, and the purpose of tonight is to show people how you have been cued to be able to jump into pastorship. And I'm super excited because you said you've been doing evangelists 30 years. Now, that's already um pastorship, but when you were a kid, I know you probably didn't think that you would end up as being, you know, jumping into that pastorship. So, what did you have in plans versus what God has planned for you now?
SPEAKER_05This was always the plan.
unknownOh wow.
SPEAKER_05This was always the plan. This was always what it was going to be.
SPEAKER_06I started, you know, just like a regular preach, most preachers, kids, and children that know at an early, we know at an early age what we're gonna be. Right. Why I always tell people, watch your children and watch what they're taking an interest in. Right. Uh one a young man was telling me that his kid used to go in the yard and dig little holes in the yard and put the little stick men in the in the um in the holes. So what are you doing? He said, I'm digging graves. I'm I'm having funerals. He's a mortician now. He's a funeral director, a very successful funeral director. And so this is like this was a this was a pattern when he was a child. And and so I grew up lip-syncing in the mirror and and doing shows and putting on productions. I had this, my dad had this um gold recliner in our living room, and I would get my teddy bears and line them up on the recliner, and I would sit in the middle, so I had to be small to be able to fit all my bears and me in there. I would make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and cut it in a bunch of pieces and get up and get an apple and slice it in pieces, and that was the food for the band. So we was on we're on the tour bus. That that that chair was my tour bus.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06And I would cut up little pieces of paper to make money, and that's how I paid the band. Wow. And I would make my set list off of um, you know, the album covers. I would take the backs of the album covers and look at who's who the musicians were, who the engineers were, who the techs were, and that's why we call in. See, they all know they all know how they'll know. You'll skip and that's Don, and that's Jake. Uh Dave, could you come and handle this? You know, I had the whole little thing going.
unknownThat's so stupid.
SPEAKER_06They don't know nothing about the album cover. Oh, yeah, they don't know anything about that album cover, but that was just a beautiful part of being a child. And it's like I'm I'm the baby of 11 children. A lot of people don't know that. Seven boys and four girls. I'm the baby. And so you come from a big family too, so you know what you know what that routine is like.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
Calling Confirmed From Childhood
SPEAKER_06And uh, but there's there's such a huge age gap between us. Um, the oldest just turned 86 years old.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06And I'm about to be 50. I didn't know that. So his wife and my mom were pregnant at the same time.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_05And one of our cousins, uh, she was pregnant at the same time as my mom. She was having her first kid, my mom was having her last. So it's one of them things. Look, I know, I look, I know all about that too.
SPEAKER_06We know how it is. We come from a very loving family. Right. But it was it was just always there. I would get in the mirror, went to hear Lynette Hawkins and Karen Clark and Tremaine Hawkins and all those ladies sing, and I would just, ooh, I'll be crying, I'd be in the mirror, just carrying on and putting on my shows. And then, of course, I had the little rock star side of me too. So I'd be uh Mother Spinest and Tina Turner and Parliament Fuckedelic and all that, you know. And so I had all those things, Girth Went in Fire, and all those records and things that I that I would lip sync too. So I just I always had that thing in me with with music. I love jazz. So I would have I had in my I would dim the lights and do my jazz shows, you know, with my uh Ahmad Jamal records and all those things. I it was a I was a I was a character, but that's what I'm doing today. Everything I was doing then, everything I was thinking then is what I'm doing now. So I believe that uh Prophet Corey Easterling said, if it's in your mind, then it's in your future. Come on, and if it's not in your mind, then it's not in your future. So whatever you want to do, whatever you believe for yourself, you got to get it in your mind so that you can see it in your future.
SPEAKER_01That look, I hope y'all, y'all, y'all need to be taking notes, okay? Because, you know, everything happens twice, your mind first, and then your hand. And so, like what you were saying, you was, you know, singing to Karen Clark, and then you had the opportunity to actually sing in front of Karen Clark. Absolutely. How amazing was that?
SPEAKER_06Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. First of all, let's let's talk about vocal prowess, stamina, range, the the glamour of Karen Clark. Let's declare Karen Clark Shared. And when I say her name like that, I'm not meaning any disrespect because we know she's evangelist, she's Dr. Karen Clark Shear, we know she's first lady and whatnot. So definitely not saying it to be disrespectful, but just her as an artist. That darn Karen Clark Sheared is the one. The one. She is the one. And so to even get the phone call, Kiki reached out to me um like two like a week before watch night and says, she's like, Lillian, I know it's last minute, but can you come to Grady Master? I absolutely can't come to Grady Man. Let me let me look up my ticket right now. Right now.
SPEAKER_05So she um she reached out to me. She said, Does this ticket work? And I'm like, absolutely, let's do it.
SPEAKER_06And um they flew me in and we were there for the service, and it was just phenomenal. I can't even explain how phenomenal it was. But just to be able to be in that room and and a little bit of history about the church where they are now, that was actually my bishop, uh, our former bishop who he's gone home to be with the Lord, but that was his building, Bishop David Ellis. That was his church back in the day, uh, Greater Grace on Seven Mile and Schaefer at the corner of Seven Mile and Schaefer. So that that building for me is that's like the mother, that's like the Mason temple of the PAW, almost so it was like the that's the mothership for us. That's the that's the Mecca for us. And so to be able to be in that building just a week prior to me stepping into the pastor, it really meant a lot to me just to be in that room. And I have a great deal of respect for Bishop Shear and what he's doing with the Church of God in Christ. And he is I I told somebody today, I said I think he's the best thing that has happened to Kojik since Bishop Um Bishop Gilbert Patterson. And uh, I didn't mean that to be disrespectful either, but I just think he is the man. He is the man for the church, he's the man for to move us forward into the future because so many people are content to remain in the past, or they're content to remain in the dark ages, they're content to be stuck on a bunch of stuff that wasn't really working back then, but we just dealt with it, we accommodated it. But he really is forward, he's a very forward-thinking, um, forward-thinking leader. And I just I really admire him and I admire the work that he's doing there in Detroit. And I celebrate the Clark and the Shared legacy. It's just an awesome, awesome, awesome legacy. And the moss legacy, all of that's just an awesome legacy.
SPEAKER_01Yes, like you said, he is going to take us in the future. Absolutely. Like literally. If we let him, yeah, if you let him, he'll take you.
SPEAKER_06If you let him, but you know, a lot of people are gonna rail against it. Yeah, I refuse, I refuse. Well, just like this in this country, the Republicans and then Democrats are going back and forth because there are those that are really ready to see this segregation thing in. They're ready to see the racism in and all this foolishness that's going on in the world. And there are some that would rather drop dead than to see other people advance. They're so afraid that my that that equity somehow means that they're going to be oppressed.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_06You know, you're you're gonna do to us what we've done to you. No, we just want you all to leave us alone. That's all we want. We just want our fair share, we want our fair turn. We're not asking you for anything we haven't earned. We have earned everything we've received in this country. We have earned it. We have earned it, we have more than earned it. We have worked double hard for the scraps, right?
SPEAKER_01And like you said, we just want you to leave us alone. Yeah, and it's time to pay up. Leave us alone and pay up. Right. That's all we want. Leave us alone.
SPEAKER_05Just leave us alone, leave us alone and pay up.
unknownYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So that I mean, that's good. I mean, like, like you said, we have to um we have to be able to know that when greatness is in our presence, like how you said about um Bishop, Bishop Shear, and stuff like that, and that right there can help us move forward into our calling. Because a lot of the things that we have to do is understand is that we supposed to be taking stuff from people and not being jealous of people. And a lot of people don't understand that, right? You know what I'm saying? And so when you recognize that it was time for you to move, who did you unite with and just be like, you know what? Let me let me let me learn from you, let me let me shave some of this off of you. Who were those people?
Mentors, Care, And Shepherd’s Heart
SPEAKER_06Well, I um I never sit under anybody that I don't trust with my life. I will never sit under anybody that I don't trust in my life. And I really got when I was living here, that was over 30 years ago, when I was living here, I started going to Greater Overcoming Church. Bishop J.L. Cotton. And these these testimonies are very sensitive because a great deal of the people who are a part of my story are no longer here. And they're not here to see this manifestation, right? To see the words that they spoke. They didn't live to see the manifestation. And I know we say, Well, they still see, they know they they're watching over. Okay, yeah. But they're not here with us to witness it and for us to see the expression on their faces and experience them saying, Wow, my living was not in vain, my preaching was not in vain. And so now I'm I'm, you know, just very intentional about letting them know when I'm in their presence. I was uh with Apostle Um Irene Bell, went to visit her because she's been under the weather, and you know, it just your life just flashes before you when you see your mentors incapacitated, when you see them. Um, she and everybody knows she recently suffered a couple of strokes and left her in a in a pretty bad way. And so we're definitely still praying for her because we believe God to be the healer. They have a sign on the wall in her bedroom that says, God is a healer. I said, change that to God is the healer because he's the only one that can heal.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06And not only can he heal, but he will heal. Right, he is willing and able to do just what he said, and so, but to see her like that and knowing that when we were 13, 14 years old coming over to her house, and she be walking around and just praying for us, prophesying to us, ministering to us, and pouring in us, we'd be sitting all over her bed, and she just took out time with us. But see, this generation of pastors and leaders, they don't have time to deal with one-on-one with anybody. They want to stand up, give you a lecture, and send you home in 45 minutes. We sung one song, y'all took up 12 offerings and gave us a 20-minute speech, and now you're ready to go.
SPEAKER_07Right.
SPEAKER_06Ain't nobody prayed, nobody's laid hands, nobody's teared, ain't nobody spoke over you, nobody's hugged you, nobody's embraced you, nobody has given you any one-on-one contact. So you just here, here's the plate, you take it and do with it what you believe. If you eat good, if you don't eat, I don't care. That's not my problem. But I care that you ate.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06I care, I care that you ate. There was a um, there was a video on YouTube yesterday, it was uh Instagram, I think it was, yesterday. This um CNA was crying. I mean, she was just hysterically crying because she had brought a plate to one of her patients, and when she came back for her next shift, the plate was still there untouched. And she was trying to figure out why wasn't the plate touched. The man couldn't feed himself and nobody helped him eat his food. So he had been there all night without his meal. Now I am too sensitive for that kind of stuff. I can't I can't you can't even say stuff like that around me because I'm gonna try to find out right now so I can take this man a box of chicken or something and stand there and feed him myself. Right because I'm I'm silly like that. I really am. And I have been to visit, you know, loved ones in the nursing home and then go around and look in the other rooms and what y'all need, what you got, you all right? You need a blanket, I go to the store and buy them a blanket and bring them some chicken and all that. I'm just I'm just like that.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Because you just don't ever want anybody to feel like nobody cares whether or not they're okay.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06People thrive when um somebody is caring for them.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06I was with my nephew yesterday, he was driving me around running some errands, and he was talking to uh his fiance, and he said, Um, what did you eat today? Are you hungry? Okay. What you want on it. You know, I'm just listening to him take this order, and then he says, You go out here to the car, uh, give me uh such and such and such, and he's just giving them the order. And that just really touched my heart because people will talk to you all day long having asked you, Did you eat? They don't care about how you're moving, and they they may know you're in a financial struggle and never even offer to buy you a sandwich.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06They can know, they can know what your situation is and will just allow you to stand there and tell you their whole struggle. But I think one of the problems is we want people to beg us for help. We want people to grovel and plead with us. Oh, please. That's just we we get a kick. I think some people get a kick out of being needed. They get a kick out of being needed, they get a kick out of being necessary in somebody's life. And I said, Lord, if you ever deliver me from the space I was, I went through a season in my life where I had to live with my friends, where I slept on people's couches, I slept on the floor and they treated me like trash. People will do that to you. I said, Lord, when you bless me with my own so that I can come and go as I please, if anybody ever has to stay with me, they will never experience that.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Feeling like they're in the way, feeling like you're a bother, feeling like you're a burden. You're you're you're just, oh, you're a headache, you're a hassle. It's a hassle to have you here. Don't invite people to live with you if you're not ready to welcome them into your home and make them feel at home for as long as they need to be there. And I'm not saying open up your house and let bums come in and just squat and live forever and tear your house up and disrupt your family. But if somebody falls on hard times, if you call me tomorrow and said, Lillian, I need to come to Vegas for a couple of weeks. I'm not gonna mistreat you. Yeah, I'm not gonna come in there opening the curtains. If I'm up, everybody up. No, that's weird. That is weird, that is weirdo behavior. I'm sorry if that's what y'all do, but that is weirdo behavior. Everybody doesn't fall asleep at the same time. Everybody's body requires a different amount of rest. Right. You don't know what time I went to sleep. You don't know what I deal with in the night while I'm sleeping. Right. People have nightmares and night terrors, people deal with sleep paralysis, sleep apnea. I've dealt with it all. And so I know what it is to have unrestful sleep and interrupted sleep. And when you finally do doze, I've heard some moron busting door open, turning on lights, talking about when I'm up, you're up.
SPEAKER_01When I'm up, you up.
SPEAKER_06And you have to realize that God is watching that kind of behavior because that speaks to your character.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06You are a rude person, you're inconsiderate, and God is going to allow you to get in a position where somebody's gonna put you in a place where if they're up, you gotta be up. Come on now. Come on. So be careful how you be careful how you handle every season of your life. I thank God for 30 years of evangelism. I thank God for traveling on the road and touring all over the country and across seas. I thank God for those lessons because now I'm settled enough to be a pastor. You got too many people that are taking the pulpit and leading people someplace they've never gone before. Right. They're trying to prepare you for something they've never done, they're trying to speak to an experience that they've never had. Right. I used to get on my mom all the time. I mean, my mom, we had a very different relationship. People said we talked like we were colleagues more than we did, like we were mother and daughter. But she was preparing me. She didn't realize that she was preparing me to be a leader. I went through a storm in my life. She said, Lillian, I don't believe that somebody made you do something. I said, but I I felt threatened and I was like, No, no, no, I don't buy that. Right. I don't buy that somebody made you, not you.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06You have always had your own mind. You have always spoken up for yourself. She said, I believe if I put you in the room with the Obamas, you would know how to handle yourself in the conversation.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06She didn't realize how huge a compliment that was coming from her. And so she said, so so the notion that somebody made you do something or forced you to do something, I have a hard time buying that. She didn't understand the situation. But I had to kind of see myself through her eyes. I said, I didn't realize you thought so highly of me. But I'm glad to know that now. That gave me a really big boost of confidence. Right. That I needed to know that I'm more prepared for this thing than than I actually thought I was. I'm doing better than I thought. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, and that's a that's a great compliment, right?
Authenticity Over Replication
SPEAKER_06You know my mom. So coming from coming from her, that was that was huge. But we we really, we really, man, you have to draw from all of your experiences. Right. All the experiences that you've had in life. You have to draw from those and be able to apply them to what you have in front of you. You got so many preachers, 15, 17, 18 years old, already in full-time evangelism, traveling across, they have had no spiritual experience. They don't even know the Bible yet. And yet they're they're they have an itinerary, you got a briefcase, you got a manager, you got all of this, and they have turned these, they have turned these kids into a bunch of showmen. Right. You got somebody else writing your sermons, and you're teaching them how to hoop, you're teaching them how to the the doingness of preaching. Right, right. You're teaching them how the mechanics. There, there's there's a mechanics of preaching, right? And and a tone that you put in your voice, and you're trying, you're you're you're 12 years old, you're trying to pitch your voice lower to sound heavier, and and it, and and you're you're it sounds unnatural, it sounds uncomfortable, right? And you're you're forcing yourself into armor that you come here, David. When David got ready to go into battle with Goliath, Saul tried to put his armor on David, right? But Saul was much bigger than David, much bigger, and his armor did not fit David, yeah. And so he's trying to move and maneuver in armor that was not created for him. He says, No, give me uh-uh, take this off. I haven't tried this, yes. Take this off of me. I haven't tested it, I've never done anything in your armor, so I can't be comfortable to be myself in your armor. I was in Memphis, Tennessee. Pastor Karen Clark, she had preached, Dr. Karen Clark preached, and she went into he came in one. I said, Lady, you are not gonna embarrass me in this church today. I don't know what you think this is. But let me tell you who's not getting ready to get in this mic with you. I'm not getting in this mic with you. She said, Come on. And I was like, she's like, get up here. I'm like, what am I supposed to do? The Lord said, Be yourself. That's a what have you been doing for the last umpteen years?
SPEAKER_05That was Jeanette coming out of me then umpteen. That was her number. Uh umpteen. That's that's they're making right there.
SPEAKER_06You've been doing this for umpteen years, so now you're gonna get here and get startled and starstruck and act like you don't know what to do. Right. Do what you've been doing, right? Nobody's expecting you to sound like Karen Clark. We're expecting Lillian Lloyd. She said, Do what you do.
SPEAKER_01That's good.
SPEAKER_06And I told him, put me in B flat so I can do what I do. Right. Because she started in A flat.
SPEAKER_01That's why I'm gonna say don't put me because she probably was in that.
SPEAKER_06Praise the Lord. And so it was actually two, she was just a little, so she was just under, like a just a little lower. But I went to my key, I sang it, and then I said, All right, she started singing my song, so I'm gonna sing your song. So I went into the hallelujah praise. And she just she just losing it, loving it. And that was just that connection that was created right there. And so to come back again and be at their church to perform at New Year's Eve was just it was magical. I think the video got over 160 plus thousand views in one day on my page. So it was it was pretty exciting. It was pretty exciting, yeah. But you need your own armor, you need your own gift. You uh Bishop Norman Wagner told us at my Uncle Raymond's funeral, he said, Don't be the second coming of me, be the first coming of you. You have too many duplicates and replicas in the body of Christ. Everybody wants to be the second coming of whatever the great thing was, but there are so many missing great things. There's so much missing greatness because we're too busy trying to replicate the last great thing. Come on, that's what happened to them. That's that that has been the downfall of the music industry. You got Michael Jackson, you got Prince, who can outdo Prince, who can be the next Prince, who he sounds just like Michael Jackson, or he sounds like Bobby Brown, or he sounds like Casey Haley, or he sounds like D'Angelo. Right. So we keep trying to read, we treat trying to replicate greatness rather than exploring newness. We're losing the newness, and it's dying out. It it you you can't you can turn on the radio now and you can't tell the difference between these artists now. I said you can take three songs from five different artists and put them on the same record, you wouldn't even know it was a different artist.
SPEAKER_01Wow, because all y'all sound alike, all of and I think that's a good that's a good thing that you have to learn um is about being authentic, you know what I'm saying? Because a lot of people don't know how to just be authentic in themselves and do what needs to be done because God don't call you to be like David, He called you because He called you, that's right, you know, because He needs you in the realm of this earth, He needs you, you know, just like when you were saying you was in front of Dr. Karen Um Clark Sheared, and it's like, oh no, I didn't call you. She wanted you to come up and be Lily, she didn't want you to come up and try to be her.
SPEAKER_06And so even this even this past week when we were uh in the watch night service, before she gave me the mic, she said, Bishop wants you to do your thing. Right. Do your thing, right? So that means she wants the hair, she wants the strut, she wants all that lay on this, and you did it. I wore this dress. I had planned to wear another dress, but I just when I picked it up, put it on, I was like, that's not fancy enough for the occasion because it's watch night in Detroit. I gotta be blingy, I gotta be cute. So I thought I had this other dress, I'd never worn it before. I'm like, mm-hmm, I'll try it. Threw it on.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, this is kind of cute. I like it. Okay.
SPEAKER_06But the split on the side was a little high. It covers the leg, but the split was on the side. Now, I don't a front split, I'm not gonna wear because I just know there's no way I'm gonna be sitting there doing that all night. The whole night. Because I know my performance, I know what it requires. And so I just asked the young lady that was assisting me for a lap scarf. But even with the lap scarf, I'm like, this split is ha. When I sit down, it was coming up a little higher. So I was digiting with that closure. So I said, I told, I asked Bishop, I said, Is it all right if I die? He like, go, die, die, go. Do it, do it, go. So did you know? So they would they were there for me to smoke, you know. They was with the genetic I did it. I did it. I did it. I love it. I said, I I love that, and that's why I said he's so forward-thinking because you know, some of our leaders from the past probably wouldn't have been cool with that. Right.
SPEAKER_05You know, you do a little too much, that daughter. You know, get a sheet put over that sister because she couldn't go.
Holiness In Everyday Choices
SPEAKER_01Y'all know it, y'all got to see the video. I love when when when Lily would get up there and she would get off like, I could have died. Yeah. I'd be like, okay.
SPEAKER_06Because I really could have been dead. Right. I really should have been dead. Oh. And so many of my friends, I I always think of there was a young lady that I went to school with, her name was Stacy Bird, and the summer before we were to enter into ninth grade, she got murdered by her boyfriend. She was 13 years old, got shot in the head. And I think they told us at the time she was pregnant. So we got back to school in uh for the for the fall, uh, going into ninth grade. They call the role in my homeroom. Her last name starts with a B, so you know she was at the top of the list. Right. Stacy Bird. The whole class just got quiet. We just couldn't say anything, but I just was just stunned. And so I think the second day rolled around. And and as a matter of fact, three of our classmates got killed during the summer that year. One got hit by a car, I think one was hit by a drunk driver, the other one had some little fluke accident with an infection, and he ended up dying. And the Stacy's situation with her getting murdered by our boyfriend. And all three of them were supposed to be in my homeroom class.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06So I went to the teacher afterwards and I said, She died this summer, he died this summer, he died this summer. She's like, Oh God, no, what happened? I told you, explained to her. So that's why the whole class just kind of got numb when you when you said those names. And so it was just a sobering moment for me at 13, 14 years old to say, that very easily could have been me. Right. I live in the same neighborhood these guys live in. We, you know, we're experiencing because that was back when the drug uh problem, crack cocaine really hit Macon really hard. That was the Jerry Anderson era of Macon, Georgia. So it was really, really crazy back then. And so I'm just grateful to God that I survived it. I remember God tried to get me to try crack one time. And I said, Do you know who I live with? Are you nuts?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right. Do you know my mother?
SPEAKER_06Right.
SPEAKER_01You think I'm gonna come in her house high on crack? You got to be crazy. You got to be crazy.
SPEAKER_06Anyways, I'm not smoking a cigarette and going to my mama's house. You think I'm about to smoke crack and go in the house and live there? Nah, doc. We ain't doing that.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06We're not we're not doing that.
SPEAKER_04Right, right.
SPEAKER_06I'm scared of Jesus and I'm scared of Jeanette. I'm telling we got look, we got whippers. I don't know what you all don't know what you came to do, but we got whippers when we were kids.
SPEAKER_01Look, my my older kids will tell you they they say they got whippers, but they talking about the younger ones though.
SPEAKER_05Baby, look, we got the break shoes beat off of us when we was kids. My mama didn't play.
SPEAKER_06Right. And my dad, all my dad had to do was raise his voice, and you just who cares?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Oh Lord, I'll send the kiss you. We turn right to Jim, uh, Jimmy Swaggard, honey. My daddy, yeah, forget it. You start repenting for stuff you didn't do, honey.
SPEAKER_01Man, that that is so, you know, like like you said, we we have to understand that, you know, being able to know the difference, you know, before you do something, right? Because a lot of the times, a lot of people will be like, oh, well, I'm gonna try it, and then then next thing you know, you end up with that consequences, and so that is the biggest thing about understanding that calling and saying, you know what, no, I ain't gonna do this. I I fear the Lord.
SPEAKER_06I fear the Lord, and some people are they they are more in tune with their ambitions, right? Their self-centered ambitions, right? Right but you have to redirect your focus to your Christ-centered agenda, right? Right, what are your Christ? What agenda do you have that is Christ-centered? Right, or Christocentric agenda. What is it that is centered on Christ? What are you doing that is bringing glory to God? Right, we talk a lot about living in our truth and being happy. Where in the Bible does it tell us to live in our own truth? Right, not nowhere, Greek, Hebrew, nowhere. Do you see anything about God wanting us to live in our own truth?
SPEAKER_01It tells us to die to self. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_06So this is this is no longer about you. That's what I tell people. I told my singers uh the other day, we're getting ready for a rehearsal tomorrow. Rehearsal is tomorrow, isn't it? Oh God. So I mean, the week just flew by so fast. It did, just flew by so fast, but it is not about your personal style. I have a requirement. Right.
SPEAKER_04Uniform.
SPEAKER_06I still believe in in hosiery for ladies. I still, you know, that skirt needs to come at least below your knee. It it needs to cover. You you have to loosen it up. I know you like it snug, but you got too many bellies for that. So you need to, you know, wear something that works with with your body. You have see the I learned I learned a very valuable lesson. I bought this dress one time, and some of those that follow me probably saw the video. But I bought this dress that I saw on Erica Campbell. I don't I don't have Erica Campbell's body, and I I didn't I knew that, but it's like I thought when I put the dress on, the dress was gonna do something magical. Yeah, the dress didn't come with the body, the body didn't come with the dress. So when I put it on me, it looked stupid on me. So I put it in the closet and I didn't think about it anymore. So after I went on this weight loss journey and I got a little hee-hee and little hee-hee, I said, Oh, okay, all right. Because I was going to church and I needed something to wear um to this particular service. I said, Oh, I'm gonna try that dress on and see what it looks like now. Maybe I'll zip that suck up. I was like, and I was able to put it on and it look, it was it looked nicer on me, and now the dress is too big. Won't God do it? He'll do it, won't he? But the funny thing, the funny thing was I put it on and didn't realize I had it on backwards. So I'd gone to church, danced, shouted, spoke in tongues, sang, ran across the church, dressed on just as backwards as it could be. Big dummy. So I didn't really until I got in the car because it was so hot that it was hot, hot, hot, hot, very humid. And it was hot inside the church. We was in there just getting it, you know. I got to the car, I said, Oh, me, unzipped the shit. I'm looking for the zipper. I said, I know doggone well, I'm not the zipper goes in the front.
SPEAKER_05Your dumb self has set up here all this time with the dress on backwards, trying to be cute.
SPEAKER_01Oh Lord, that is so funny. That is very stupid. That's very stupid, but it's okay, you fit the dress though, absolutely, and probably wore it and started a new trend. Absolutely, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_06So we wouldn't have known if you hadn't told us right, like nobody would have known that, you know.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Erica Camel might have, but you know, yes indeed.
SPEAKER_06Oh man, I think I got that company some sales because if I was like, when did you get that dress? I had to post the thing right now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but that's that, you know, that's that's the thing about you know, about being able to um distinguish, you know, and so when when God called you to this, like how did that happen? How did that look? Or did you like when you understood that this is where you were headed to?
SPEAKER_06I was in Trenton, New Jersey, about maybe 15 years ago, and I was walking down the street, headed into the sanctuary, and it was a dark, abandoned, just dismal looking street. And when I got inside the church, there was only a few people there. It was really dark looking, and it was just an old church, and it was a lot of older people there. It's maybe probably about 10 people in the service that night. I stood on the floor and I preached. Because I'm a preacher, I don't care who's in here. Right. I grew up in a small church, you know, and we didn't have no mics at my daddy's church. You know, so they all understand that type of stuff. Absolutely. We didn't have any musicians, you just sang, clap your hands, sing some hymns, and then my dad would preach, and then we went home. And um, but I preached, and as I was coming out, I started looking around that area. I'm like, what could change this place? Or is there any hope for this place? Is there any hope for this street? Is there any hope for this block? Is there and as I was saying that, that's when the Lord started giving me the burden and letting me know that that's the pastoral eye. Right. That's the shepherd's heart in you, wanting to see growth, wanting to see expansion, wanting to see people be helped, wanting to see people be delivered, making sure I laid hands on every single person in the room, making sure I I talked to the pastor, I talked to the elderly saints, I embraced them, I made them uh feel like I was a part of them. I wasn't there floating above them, and I'm, you know, they whisk me in the door and I'll say my speech and then whisk me back out of the back. No, no, no. I want to be, I want to interact. And so that's when the Lord laid it on my heart. And I said, Well, am I gonna start the church in Trenton, New Jersey? Like, where am I going? Because I'm I've always been a get up and go. Wherever you say, Lord, I'm going.
SPEAKER_01It's up. That's that's I'm I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_06When he says go so see, I I want to challenge this notion of running from a call. Right. Where exactly are you running to that you're gonna escape God? Think about how stupid that sounds, right? Right I'm gonna go hide over there and and God won't see me.
The Platform Trap And Real Ministry
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Good luck.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06If I fly to New Mexico, God won't see me. I'm gonna move overseas and I can escape. You cannot escape the plan of God. Right. So it's either you're going to say yes to the call and be at peace, or you're gonna say no and watch your whole life fall apart in front of you. Because we are chosen by God. Right now, you can choose whether or not to obey, but I don't think it's gonna go very well for you. I don't and I don't think God's gonna twist your arm off, but I I really believe that we are at our best when we're aligned with his purpose for our life. Yes. I don't I don't believe I'll be happy without God. Right. I don't believe I can be fulfilled. I don't believe I can go out and find something else to do that would fulfill me, like doing the work of the Lord. I love my job. Right. I love preaching, I love to teach the word, I love ministering to people, I love visiting the sick, I love visiting families when they're going through the time of reading. I enjoy that work. Right. I hate that I have to do it sometimes with going to Hospital because I hate for people to be sick. I for people be in pain. But I love to see a smile come on a sick person's face when I walk in the room, when I walk in the AIDS ward, when I walk in a cancer patient's room, when I when I walk in those rooms and a sigh of relief that I've brought some sense of peace or some sort of comfort to the family during that time, it lets me really appreciate what the presence of God does. And not calling myself the presence of God, but when he comes in, he brings peace, he brings comfort, he brings joy. And so when I come in with him in me, I bring peace, comfort, joy, and all those things with me. I tell people all the time, you you you you're gonna leave two things. You're going to leave an odor or a fragrance. So the question then becomes what did you leave when you left the room? Did you leave an odor or a fragrance? Have you ever hugged somebody somebody that was musty? Yes. You ever talked to somebody had bad breath? Right. And then when they leave, you can still smell it on you. Right. You ever had somebody pray for you with bad breath and they start talking, spitting all across your head, and you can still smell that when they're gone. Oh Lord. They left an odor. Whatever they said, it could have been a blessing they spoke of your life, but you couldn't receive it because it was masked by their odor. There are some of us that are gifted and talented, but our attitudes leave an odor. It leaves a stink in the room. It leaves the funk behind. Right. But when you are saved and you are nice, when you're warm, when you're inviting, when you're accommodating, when you're when you're courteous, you leave a fragrance behind. And people anticipate your arrival and they dread your departure. I have friends that literally break into tears when it's time for me to leave them. Right. I just hate when you leave. I wish you could stay longer. I hate to see you go. And I love to hear that. I love that my friends feel that way about me. Right. And I ain't in there casting no spell. I ain't casting no spell on my friends and on my people. But I just I love like that. Right. I pour like that. I give like that. Right. I impart like that. And so when you when you have that personality, when you're a giver, when you're a sower, when you're a healer, when you have that mindset and that and that personality, that aura, that response to people, right? Then they want you around. They want you around. I'm looking forward to shepherding God's people because I like people. You got a lot of people that can preach, but they don't like people. And so ministry is a challenge for you because you don't like nobody.
SPEAKER_01Because you don't like you don't like people in your in your business.
SPEAKER_06I'm an introvert. I'm an introvert. I don't like. Shut up. Like seriously. You heard something on the radio or you read something in the book, and now you're you're deeming yourself an introvert. No, you're just socially awkward. You're just weird. You don't know how to interact with people. You don't know how to have conversation with people.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06You you're you're selfish. You don't know how to engage and interact. Right. You're only concerned about what affects you. I want to know what's going on in your world.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06What's going on in your life? How do you feel today?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You guys got a situation going on right now. I've already been down that road. But you're here doing this. Right. When you've got something going on in your personal life, I want to know how you're doing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I ain't going to flip it on you because I know we got to stay in a certain space. But you see what I'm saying? Yeah. I would be crazy not to ask you, how are you? Yeah. How are you coping with this? This is a new direction we're getting ready to go in. And we don't know how long the Lord is going to allow this thing to move the way it's moving. Right. And which direction it's going to turn in. And that it that affects every part of your life. That affects the life of your children. It affects your career, it affects your ministry, affects every aspect of your life. And you cannot have a person leading you somewhere that does not give a flying fig how you're making it from day to day. Right, right. What do I look like getting up in the pulpit because I want to go on vacation? I'm going, the Lord told me that everybody in here needs to give a seed of$1,000. It is inconsiderate. Right. You are an insensitive leader. If you ask for a$1,000 seed, you got 50 members, half of them are unemployed. And so you know they're going to rob Peter to pay Paul just to give you that$1,000 seat because they are feared or they're in fear of their safety. They're in fear of their blessings being cut off. They're in fear of being cursed with a curse. Right, right. That is intimidation. That's manipulation. That is control. That's domination. It is not God. That's not how God works. That's not how He moves. You're not going to get a blessing because you gave a thousand dollars. You got a blessing because you gave what you had with a cheerful heart. The Lord loves a cheerful giver, not a threatened giver, not an intimidated giver, not a fearful giver, but a cheerful giver.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
Suffering, Warfare, And Perseverance
SPEAKER_06That's how the ministry is blessed. You want, I was, I was in, I was in, I'm I'm always somewhere. These stories always ascend somewhere. I was always somewhere. Um we were in New Orleans for uh we had Squall Fest. And while I was there, I was with one of the singers, and their first lady, it was her birthday, so she came on the trip with her girls. And I was sitting at the table, one of them was her biological daughter, the other young lady is her spiritual daughter. And so they were just so in love with this woman. The interaction was just amazing. I said, Okay, I'm starting a church. I need to know why you like her so much. Why do y'all get along so well? She said, Well, number one, she don't need me. She's got a job, she's got a life. She's not all in my business trying to run my house and run my life. She's not asking for money every week so that she can go get her hair and her nails done. She works for the government. Our pastor is a lawyer. They have good money of their own. So when I make my good money of my own, I love sewing into them because they're not hirelings and they're not fleecing the sheep. They're doing the work of the ministry and they deserve whatever we can give them. So it meant it was nothing for me to fork over this amount of money. It's nothing for me to drop this in their lap. It's nothing for me to pour this into them because I know that they're not just here to milk us from what they can get from us. Right. And then you don't see them anymore during the week. They're gonna pop in town, have a service, and then disappear. Right, right. You can't contact me. You don't have my phone number. We don't have any way of interacting with you. You're not gonna visit the sick, you're not gonna pray with anybody. You're not doing you're not shepherding, you're just preaching, right? You're just hosting movements and revivals and and and having services.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06And that's not what I'm about. I'm here to do a work. Yeah, I live in Vegas, but I'm gonna be here for the most part doing the work. You will have access to me. Yeah, you will have complete access to me. I care about you, I care about what's going on with you, I care about your family. I don't care if they're not members of this church. Your mother is sick. I'm coming over there. Mm-hmm. Your mama ain't saved. I'm still going over there because I don't care if she's not saved, I want God to heal her so she can get saved.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06So she can't so she can know who Jesus can know the healer. Right. He can make her whole, and then she can give her life to him as an act of gratitude for the healing. You see? Right. People need to ex they need to have an experience of God to get a revelation of God before they can accept him as their savior. We just want to bring him in there and slam on the altar and start tarrying over them, and they don't even know who you're talking about. And we're such poor representation of him, we're such poor representatives of who he is. We're really bad representatives of the company. I talked about this. Uh there was a product called Herbalife years ago. And it was this diet program, and you make it a little shake and drink the shake. But they have these fat people selling the stuff. You people are not very good representation of the product.
SPEAKER_01And that's how that's how some Christians are.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and I tell people I say some of y'all are overweight lovers, y'all big, big, big, big backs, and you're selling supplements, and people are buying it. You tell them, Oh, well, if you take two of these, and we're not seeing no results, baby. Don't advertise it until we see some results.
SPEAKER_07Right.
SPEAKER_06You make one commercial and say, I'm about to try this, watch me shrink. Make that video, don't post it yet, just make the video. And then after you shrink, come back and say, This is how I shrunk.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Don't come in here with this drink two of these and and chew these gummies, and six months later, you still big as a house.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Because what do we go in and why do we buy this?
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Why are we in here? Why we in these meetings? Why are we going to these conferences and and paying these fees to sell a product that nobody has proven really works? Why should I come to church when you're saying you're saved, but you're depressed, you're suicidal, you're still screwing everybody in town, you're in 15 different relationships, you're on living right, you're still cussing, you're still smoking weed, you're still drinking, you're still doing everything I'm doing. What good is it for me to be saved if nothing about you has changed? If any man be in Christ, he is a what? New creature. All things are passed away, and behold, all things become new. I got a new governor. Woo! I got a new governor, I've got a new set of rules that I follow. Yes, I'm still human. Yes, I still have these cravings. Yes, I still have these habits, yes, I still have these struggles, but I have a different response to Tokushababa. I have a different response to my struggle, I have a different response to my frustration, I have a different response to my habit, I have a different response to my hangouts. Because I got a word hanging over my life, and I can't do everything that you do. I can't respond the way I can't go up to the job and cuss everybody out. I can't go in the airport and flip the desk over at the airport. I can't go in there and show out why because I got the Holy Ghost. Yes, the whole my Holy Ghost won't let me do that. I can't steal groceries out of the store. I can't ring up a bell pepper and leave with a comforter because I got the Holy Ghost, He won't let me.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06He won't let me do. We went with Anna's Linen. I don't know if y'all remember Anna's Linen, but they had a nice store called Anna's Linen. They sold towels and sheets and just bedding and it just every any color of the rainbow they had it. Remember Anna's? I think I remember. I went there one day and bought up a bunch of stuff, and the young lady forgot to ring up my shower curtain. And I said, when she gave me the total, I said, that don't sound right. Or maybe something was on sale. So I got outside and I looked at the receipt again. And I said, She didn't charge me for this shower curtain. Shower curtain was$19.99. I said, Oh no, that ain't no 15 cent difference. That's that's$20 whole dollars. Right. So I went back in there. I said, You didn't charge me for this shower curtain. She said, and you didn't and you came back? Yeah. I said, baby, I'm not. I said, I got the Holy Ghost. I'm not going to help behind no shower curtain. I know that's real. Are you crazy? I came in here with enough money to buy what I need.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06I didn't come to steal from you.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06I came to patronize the store.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06And I and my conscience won't allow me to walk away, knowing that you didn't ring this up. We're not moving like that, baby. That's so good. Holy Ghost is the Holy Ghost in all things. He's not just the Holy Ghost when it's time for you to lay hands. See, we want, we want, we want the anointing when it's time to lay hands, when it's time to prophesy, when it's time to get an engagement, when it's time to hit the hot note. Then we want the presence of the Lord. But when it's time for us to live right, speak to people, talk right, act right, be nice, interact, engage, resolve conflict, deal with your family, take care of your elderly parents, then we ain't we ain't studying about the Holy Ghost. Then now you ain't got the Holy Ghost. We ain't got no Holy Ghost. We ain't think about no Holy Ghost now. We only want it when we can shine with that I might know him and the power of his resurrection. But we don't want it, we don't want to know the fellowship of his suffering. Right. Everybody wants the resurrection power. Everybody wants the power, they want the the dunaness, they want that ability to do the hard thing, they want the ability, the strength of God, the kebab, they want the glory, the kratos, they want the strength, but they don't want the suffering. Even, and it goes beyond that, even being made conformable to his death. See, we don't want that. Oh no, no, no. No, no, no, keep that over there, guys. We're we're all set over here on death, folks. No, no, no. Good times, happy feelings, warm tingly. Let's have lots of that. Anything demonstrative works. Let me lay hands and people fall out. And that's why so many of these churches are popping up because people are addicted to how it looks when somebody falls out, right? What are you so mesmerized by that for? You're just a vessel. It doesn't make you anointed, it doesn't make you special, right? Because somebody fell out. Right. How do you live after service is over? Right. And how does that person live after they've getting after they've gotten up off the floor? What happened in there? Were there any chains broken, any yokes destroyed, any burdens removed? Then all we did was put on a show. All we did was put on a show. It's just demonstration with no manifestation, right? No revelation, no transformation. Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Has your mind been renewed?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_06Or are you just spotting a bunch of scriptures and still going about life as you always do? What's different about you when the doors are closed, when the lights are off? What kind of pictures do you have in your phone? Yes. Folks send you stuff sometime. You like, how long did it take you before you deleted it?
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Or did you delete it? Most people put it in that high.
SPEAKER_01Or they delete it, but they keep going back to the recently deleted product.
SPEAKER_06That's a mess. I hate that it doesn't mean like that. I'm acting like I didn't see that two minutes later.
Leadership That Loves People
SPEAKER_01Right. That's that's so good. I mean, I'm telling y'all, the Holy Spirit, I I'm I'm excited about you stepping into what God has called you to do because I know that you have have that calling. You know what I'm saying? And being that you undid it for 30 years already, and to step in and that burning to make sure that people are living holy, that is that is a you know a God calling gift because there's a lot of people that's in it for the wrong reason.
SPEAKER_06They fell in love with the glam the glam era of evangelism ruined it for a lot of people.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Because you see all these big name preachers and they're traveling, they're doing these big conferences and these huge arenas, and everybody wanted to be the next this one and the next that one. I'm going to the Potter's house. That was the goal. Get to the Potter's House. Get to the Potter's house. And then I'm gonna be a woman without loose, I'm gonna be on manpower, I'm gonna be on the Mega Fest, I'm gonna be, and so that became people's goal. Right. Souls was no longer the goals, it was the stage, right? The platform became the so became the goals. I want to be able, I want to be able to do ministry full time because I don't want to go to work on Monday. Right, I want to be able to sleep in fancy hotels, eat and order room service, lay up all day, and then fly out. That's what it is. That sounds so glamorous, doesn't it? That's what it is. That's what I do every week. I I fly out, I get flown in and I get flown out, and I and I travel and I'm dragging suitcases here and there, and people are taking me, picking me up in nice cars and taking me around. And all of that is great, but there is a burden and a responsibility that comes with that that you don't see right when we're on stage. You didn't see all I had to go through before I got on stage at Greater Emanuel the other Sunday, right? You didn't see all that I had to go through to get to the airport and get all the stuff done and get the clothes in. I have there's a there's just a whole process, right? I had to do it while I was in acute liver failure, I had to do it while I had an issue of blood for two years.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06A lot of the videos you see on YouTube, you have no idea what I was going through in my physical body. Wow, the challenges I was going through my physical body. When I recorded, I've got the victory. I was in an abusive marriage. Wow. And I had just had an altercation with my husband right before we recorded, I've got the victory.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06We fought the night before the recording. I didn't even know if I was gonna have enough voice to sing because he had me up arguing all night long. You see what I'm saying? The stress of that. This fool is sitting in the audience when I gotta stand before God's people. But that's where the ad-libs came from. I ad-lib my situation. I prophesied to myself in my ad-libs. You made it through the divorce, you made it through the courts, through convictions, addictions, through headaches and heartaches, through the pain, the suffering. Do you know you got it? I got the victory. Everywhere that I go, I got it. Walking on my job, walking in my house, signing up for that loan. Everywhere that I go, I got it. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, January, February, March, and April. Now I'm in a hurry. You know, all of that was me prophesying my way out. Wow. In song. Some people, if they stump their toe, they're not gonna make the concert.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06A little breeze blow. Uh-uh. I'm gonna be in bed about two or three days. It's too windy out there. You're not ready. And that's why God, that's why the Lord can't use a lot of you all, because you have too many darn excuses for why you can't show up. I don't feel like it. I don't, and I told I got a little uh dental situation going on here. This tooth needs to be extracted. And I woke up yesterday, looked in the mirror yesterday, and saw that my face was starting to swell. I said, I'm getting a darn abscess. I said, Boy, you really are pointing on thick, aren't you, Satan?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, he will.
SPEAKER_06Your stupid self. And I said, I looked at myself in the mirror. I said, It's a little puffy, but I'm still not stopping.
SPEAKER_04Right. Right.
SPEAKER_06I'm going right down there with a puffy face.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06And as a matter of fact, I got on the phone, called my dentist in Vegas, had them to ship my uh to transfer my prescription here, and they sent me my antibiotics, and the swelling has already started to go down because it was real puffy yesterday under my eyes and everything. And I said, This is this is getting silly. But warfare warfare is always attached. There's always attached to a big move. When God is getting ready to do something major, there's always some kickback.
SPEAKER_02I love that.
SPEAKER_06One of our musicians lost his lost his baby in this process. The funeral is tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06Baby died in childbirth.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06One of my other musicians, she had two seizures. They had to recalibrate her med, so she's not gonna be able to make it.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06My main organist is leaving for Florida because he had a death in their family down there. And the friend, one of his close friends passed, so he's gotta go down there and come back and be very concerned. So just all kinds of attacks. My nurse has a bleeding ulcer. So she can't come. All my key people, all my close people, my my circle got attacked in the middle. I was like, Well, Lord, why are you letting it happen to them? What about me? And I deal with what I gotta deal with. Don't let it happen to them. Uh-uh. No, they gotta suffer with me in order to reign with me. They've got to suffer. They've got to be able to take the darts. If they can't take the darts, then they haven't earned the prize.
unknownCome on now.
SPEAKER_06They haven't earned the reward, they haven't earned the blessings. They haven't earned the blessing, they haven't earned the joy, they haven't earned the the benefits.
SPEAKER_01Right. Thank you. Right. Who is she finna have me running? You hear me?
SPEAKER_05They haven't earned that.
SPEAKER_06So it is necessary that they go through this storm.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06It's necessary that they go through this trial. It's necessary that they be tossed to and fro. It's necessary that hey, we we did it, but we didn't get paid today.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Gotta do that sometimes.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06But this is this is the phase where you prove your loyalty. You prove, and I'm not, I don't, I'm not an advocate for using anybody.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Because I will leave empty before I let my people be destroyed. I don't, I don't play that. I don't play that. And I might need you to give me a couple days, but make sure you have your coins. Right. But we're prepared this time. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. You know, I had a fiasco the week of my birthday, just several of my events got canceled right back to back. And that was what was gonna pay for the uh salary for my people that I hired to do the show. But God restored it, put it back, and we were able to take care of it in a few weeks. But I just don't like owing people. That makes my nerves bad.
SPEAKER_01I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_06But there are some that are set out to be dishonest. Right. They never had any intention of paying you.
unknownRight.
Closing Prayer And Charge To Seek God
SPEAKER_06So when you call them, they don't answer their phone. When you call them, they they ghost you, they they block you. Right. And then they get on Facebook and call you the devil. You see, that kind of nonsense. But this is a suffering way, and I'm grateful. It's another day's journey, and I'm so glad. This old world can't do me no harm. See, I don't know what those songs meant back then, you know. But but my mind is made up. I'm on my way up. I'm gonna hold my head up and I'm going on with the Lord. I'm I'm here to stay. I'm here to do this work, I'm here to finish what the Lord has started in me. Yes. And raise up the next generation of leaders. Because I'm not gonna be here always, I'll be 50 years old. So, you know, I'll be you know we'll be looking up, they'll be 60. And you look around, you'll be 70. You know what I'm saying? My God. And people are checking out of here in their 50s. Yeah. People are checking out of here in their 30s. I saw somebody today, uh, 1986. Wow. Born in 1986, that just passed away. Wow. I said, What what's happening to these young people? Right? They're committing suicide, they're having heart attacks and strokes in their 40s, 30s and 30s.
SPEAKER_0130s and 40s, yes. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_06It's a time. It's a time. But I'm up for the challenge.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm you know what? I'm I'm full. I am so full because of the simple fact that you have came and blessed my soul. Like literally, because a lot of people, you know, when they're stepping into something new, they, you know, they they shy away or they don't talk about it because they're not determined as much as they should be. And pray out.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity. And um, we're gonna pray for your mom. Yes. I'm gonna pray for your mom. And um, and we believe God to one thing the Lord does is he always does what's right. Yes, and it may not always be right to us, but it's always right for us. Yes, it's always right for the person that's involved, and he's gonna do what's right concerning her. We trust him to be fair, we trust him to be just, we trust him because he is the healer.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes, God.
SPEAKER_06And we know he's able. Father, in Jesus' name, I thank you for this time. Thank you for this gathering, and thank you for this meeting today. We love you and we give your name praise, honor, and glory for all that you're preparing to do. And we thank you that your healing virtue is going and touching mom right now. In the name of Jesus, from the crown of her head to the sole of her feet. She has served you all her life. She has given her life to you, she has done your work. And I know that sometimes these things happen to our parents just so they can rest because they're gonna keep going. If if you don't stop them, they won't stop. And so I thank you now that you are giving her this time for her body to repair itself and to heal and to be made whole. I just ask that you would cover her family and keep them together as they go through this time. I've been down this road, I know what it's like, and it can be very trying on the family being a caregiver. But I ask that you would touch the direct handlers, everybody that handles her, every therapist that comes in, all those that are going to deal with her and have any hands on her, touch them right now and cover them in your blood. Bless the gathering, bless this cued for Christ, bless this ministry. This is a ministry, this is a work, this is a platform that's been opened, that the word of the Lord can go forth and we can discuss the work, we can discuss the blood, we can discuss the power of God and what he's doing through our careers and through our ministries. We thank you and we ask that you would bless it, increase it, increase it, and stretch it in Jesus' name, amen. And everybody that's listening, everybody that's listening, I believe in God that this is going to be a powerful year for you, a year of fire. Yes, God, the fire of God, the power of the Holy Ghost just being so prevalent, so resident, so so relevant, so radiant in your life that people are gonna say, there's something different about you.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_06Take this time. We're at the first week of the year. Get in your Bible like never before, read it. Turn that TV off at night and get in your scriptures. If you have to play the scriptures, let the scriptures play while you're asleep. Take some time out with the word. Don't start your day on social media, start your day in the word. Yes, start your day with prayer. If you don't do nothing but say, Lord, thank you for waking me this morning. Lead me and guide me during this day. Don't let me get off track, don't let me get off course. Bishop Shear says something so powerful. It was so simple, but yet powerful. Lord, I want you involved. Get it, get in here and take over. Take over my children, take over with my kids, take over with my family, take over with my Lord. Take over. I have messed this thing up well. I if please come get this. Yes, take over with everything that's going on with me. Yes. Y'all clap your hair.
SPEAKER_01Am I the only one that's that's ready to run? I'm ready to run. I'm super excited. I want to say thank you for your just the anointing, the Holy Spirit talking through you and being a blessing to the podcast and and and everybody. I hope I hope they was taking notes. I hope they was taking notes. And so I'm super excited about what God is doing. And want to say thank you again for being um tuning in.
