This episode we consider the wider implications of the "golden rule".

Every religion, culture, and social group seems to have their own version of the golden rule. But if  the whole planet follows the golden rule, why are our societies in such a mess?

There are two basic issues in the golden rule that we have to deal with:

  • Does the golden rule require reciprocity?
  • Who is my neighbour?
