The King’s Speech: Talking to Abba

Duane Brooks

Prayer is not about performance, but relationship. Jesus didn’t just tell us how to pray. He told us to whom we’re praying: our Father. Not a distant figure, but Abba—close, personal, and full of love. Message based on Matthew 6:5-13; 7:7-11.

Quotes:
Duane Brooks: Jesus wants His Father to be our Father.

J.I. Packer: You sum up the whole of the New Testament religion if you describe it as the knowledge of God as one's Holy Father. If you want to judge how well a person understands Christianity, find out how much they make of the thought of being God's child and having God as a father.

Bill Gladden: I've got a room. I've got an actual closet. I go into that room. If I wake up, I get up. And if I get up, I pray up.

Joy: I want to become a follower of Jesus like my dad.
