
Bill Curry
Bill Curry began his education career as a middle school teacher at Sunrise Middle School in Kearney in the late ’90s before coaching women’s basketball at UNK. He later taught math at Culler Middle School in Lincoln for five years before moving into administration in 2005 as 7–12 principal at Shelby Public Schools, where he led the merger creating Shelby Rising-City Middle School. Under his leadership, the school earned an “Excellent” AQuESTT rating and was recognized for the most improvement on the NeSA test in 2015. Now principal at Boone Central Middle School, Bill has helped the school achieve an “Excellent” rating in 2022. A former NAMLE board member, he also serves on the TeamMates board and even subs as a bus driver when needed. Most recently, he was named the 2025 Nebraska Middle School Principal of the Year.
