Hey mis amigues, it's your resident childfree Latina Paulette Erato. And do you know what May is? It's my birthday month! To celebrate, I'm doing something a little different around here. Instead of dropping new episodes this month, I'm gonna spotlight some shows I love, and I think you will too, by dropping mini episodes featuring a new podcast trailer, every day. Monday through Friday, you'll get a taste of a different amazing show I think you should check out. Some you might already know about. Others are gonna be a total surprise and they'll all be worth that listen. Stay tuned and discover some awesome new podcasts. We're kicking things off with my absolute favorite show on the entire internet. Six Degrees of Cats. If you've never heard it, get ready for the most clever pop culture commentary show through the most unexpected and perfect lens, cats! This isn't just any podcast, it's an audio delight. Thanks to the brilliant sound design by producer and host, Amanda B, who by the way, is a literal rock star. She's a musician, the front woman of a rock band, and just an all around creative powerhouse. And in fact, you might already know her because Amanda was on the show last year around this time for a two-part series celebrating both Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Non-Mom May. Beyond being one of my podcast besties, she's a truly beautiful human being inside and out, and I'm so excited to kick off this birthday month celebration with her amazing work. So please enjoy the trailer for Six Degrees of Cats. Hairball. Since ancient times they have sailed the seven seas, left their mark on art, culture, religion, and imprinted themselves into our very DNA. It's time to discuss our close relatives. Cats. Yes friends. You heard me right. Cats, pka, OP ol Why were cats adjacent to gods in Ancient Egypt, but considered Satan's familiar by Europe's Middle Ages? Why do serial killers and despots hate cats? Did Sir Isaac Newton really create the cat door, or did he steal this idea from a peasant and claim the patent for himself like a dirty capitalist? Good questions. Find out on Six Degrees of Cats, a monthly podcast in which I, Amanda B, will investigate all the curious patterns and connections between human and feline kind from a perspective you've never considered. And I mean, if we can't even communicate with the pets living in our homes, how are we ever gonna communicate with other life forms? But when I came in and applied for the job, they were just blown away that a, a black man was liking cats like that. No disrespect. We just never seen a black man. Like, you know, somebody that looked like you handle cats like this. But when the, this instrument brought to the mayor of Japan, it was covered with cat skin as history said. I am pretty sure that you'll never look at cats the same after listening to Six Degrees of Cats. Subscribe now.
