Today on the Exponential Africa Show Mic Mann meets with Aaron Frank, Singularity University principle faculty on AR & VR, writer, researcher and a prolific thought leader around the future of business and innovation.
Aaron talks about the AR cloud, stating it be the most exciting topic in computing today. The cloud holds digital copies of every physical object, a 1 to 1 digital map of everything in the real world, a digital twin of our entire planet. The game Fortnight Aaron states, is a really great way to explain what an online virtual world in the future might be.
Fortnight is much more than the game, it's becoming more of a online social space, beyond the gaming application real cultural activities are happening in the space. Fortnight held a concert that had 10 million people connected from all over the world together virtually to experience this concert. This has nothing to do with the game, it was purely for entertainment. AR and VR is creating another social layer in our lives, education, work and many other aspects of life could be soon experienced on AR and VR.
