E13 | What God Actually Says About You When You Are Still Healing: Seen, Known, Chosen, Renewed, Held

Have you ever felt like healing was for everyone else but somehow not quite available to you? 

Like you were doing everything right and still felt like you were behind where you were supposed to be?

Not a lecture. Not a formula. Just five things God actually says about you right now in the middle of the chapter. 

Before it is finished. Before you arrive. Before you are healed.

Have you ever felt like healing was for everyone else, but somehow not quite available for you? Like you were doing the work, going to the sessions, reading the books, praying the prayers, and still felt like everyone around you was arriving somewhere you could not quite reach. And then you open Instagram and someone is posting about They're posting about their breakthrough and you are genuinely happy for them. You are, but also. You're a little bit tired and a little bit confused, but why theirs looks like that and your still looks like this. No judgment. I have been that person scrolling at 11:00 PM wondering when it was going to be my turn. If that's been you, this episode is for you, wherever you are in your healing today, raw and still in the early chapters, somewhere in the long, quiet, middle, almost through, but not yet whole. This is a version of you that is here right now, not the healed version. This one, the one listening, and I'm really glad you are here. Even if you almost talked yourself out of pressing play, I see that too. Before we go into what God says, I want to create a little space for us first. If you've been with me for the previous episodes, then you know what Selah means. But if this is your first time here, joining us first, welcome and second Selah is a word from the Psalms. I'll pause an invitation to stop before you move on and let what was just said actually land. I'm going to ask you to write one word at some point during our time together. That is it. We will get there. For now. Just breathe. You showed up on a Sunday, and I thank you for that because that counts for something. So now I want to speak to three women today. The first is the woman who is raw. She's in the early stages of something hard. The wound is still fresh, the loss is recent. The question of whether God sees her in this specific pain has not yet been answered to her satisfaction. She's showing up today because she does not know what else to do. And honestly, showing up when you don't know what else to do is one of the bravest things There is the second. Is the woman in the middle. She has been healing for a while long enough to know the work is real, not long enough to feel finished. She's tired of being in the process. She wants to be on the other side, and the gap between where she is and where she wants to be has started to feel like evidence of something, like maybe healing was available to everyone else but her. I want to pause on that one for a second because I live there for longer than I want to admit. The middle is the hardest place to be in, not because nothing is happening, but because what is happening is invisible from the outside and exhausting from the inside And now for my third, the woman who is almost whole, she can see the shore from here. She has done so much work and there's still this one place, this one tender spot, this one story that still has some grip on her, and she's not sure if she will ever be fully free of it. all three of these women are in the same place. They are in the middle of their story. And they need to know what God says about them right here, not when they arrive. Now, here is what God says about you, not what I think. He says not what sounds nice, what he actually says in scripture about the woman you actually are right now in the chapter you are actually living. He says, you are seen. Psalm 1 39 says He has searched for you and known you. He knows when you sit down and when you rise up. He's acquainted with all of your ways, every detail of this chapter, every part of the story. You have not told. He is not unaware of any of it. He sees you specifically in this right now. He says, you are known, not known about known. There is a difference. The God who formed you before you were born knows diversion of you that is here today. The one that is tired and tender and not yet whole. He is not disappointed in that version. He is present with her. He says, you are chosen not after you are healed. Now in the middle of the process, before the ending is written, Ephesians one says He chose you in him before the foundation of the world. That choosing was not conditional on your arrival. It was decided before you had a single chapter to show him. So I wanna step out for a moment. And step out of scripture for just a second and talk to you directly, because I know what some of you are doing right now. You are listening to these words and nodding. And also somewhere in the back of your mind, there's a voice saying, okay? But does he really mean me though? The specific version of me with the specific situation and the specific season, that does not look like any kind of testimony yet. Yes, he means you, that version, that situation, that season, all of it. I needed someone to say that plainly to me at a certain point, I'm saying it plainly to you now. Yes, he means you, that version, that situation, that season, all of it. I needed someone to say that plainly to me at a certain point, and I am saying it plainly to you. Okay, back to what he says. He says, you are being renewed. Second Corinthians four says. though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day, the healing is happening even when you cannot feel it, even when the evidence seems to point in the other direction. The renewal is active, present, tense, ongoing. You're not waiting for it to begin. It has already begun. He says, you are held. Isaiah 41 says, do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. He's not watching from a distance waiting for you to figure it out. He is holding you in the chapter that is the hardest to be in. Seen, known, chosen, being renewed, held. That is who you are right now in this chapter before dance. and now let's have our Selah moment Write one word. Which one of these five do you most need to receive today? Seen, known, chosen being renewed, held. Which one of those words do you need today? And just one. because a one word that landed is a one your soul has been waiting to hear. Writing. It makes it real in a way that just thinking does not, healing is not a destination you arrive to. All at once. It is a series of moments where truth gets louder than the story you have been telling yourself. Where the voice of the one who sees you becomes more familiar than the voice that says you are not yet enough. And I want you to know something you are not behind, you are not excluded from the healing that is available. You are in the chapter where the healing is happening, and I know that chapter is hard to be in. I was in it for so many months and there are moments where I'm still in it. And I understand that. I know it does not always feel like progress from the inside, but you showed up today on a Sunday And you let these words land, that is not nothing. That is actually everything. The God who says you are seen and known and chosen and being renewed and held is present in every page of it, every single. So I want you to take that moment and remember the momentary pause to be held because you are seen, you are loved, and your story is still being written in God's hands.
