The most successful teams are the teams that their core values, their strategies, are unified along the group being and focusing on using those strengths. They work for collective achievement of the mission, regardless of how ambitious it might be. At the same time, high performing teams acknowledge shortcomings Now, whether that's technical limitations, financial constraints, conflicting goals or resource restrictions, they seem to find a way by recognizing areas in which they can improve. They become more patient, more understanding, more efficient, and they seem to rise above all the other noise. The turbulence of the economic times can be quite daunting. However, you're not alone. A recent landmark study revealed that the quote the impact of chaos and the American workforce uncovered uncertainty as one of the pivotal contributors to personal chaos. As leaders, we have an opportunity to use this knowledge and implement the strategies to support those around us so that they can achieve a higher degree of success. During turbulent times, even what is already established and well performing can seem unpredictable due to chaos from functional systems, positive habits, personal assurances and a sense of purpose. Adapting a leadership attitude while taking charge over the atmosphere, the culture and the environment we create is key. Leading requires more than just managing people. It is an intricate ability for human connection. An effective leader provides balance between inspiring behaviors and activities with the goal of fostering personal growth, optimal performance and reaching their potential. We are, in this culture, observing significant changes in interpersonal relationships. Leaders are shifting their focus towards collaborative care for individuals rather than simply pushing forward with results-oriented focus. Leaders who successfully connect people with their talents and align them with their mission and goals are going to emerge as winner in today's ever-evolving landscape of leadership. In short, leading demands creativity not being stuck within a system, but designing how to properly move forward. Despite the chaotic conditions, we are observing significant changes in relationships, and good leaders shift their focus from the end result, that byproduct, to the actual behaviors, their leadership functionality. Their focus is on how the team collaborates more effectively together, by removing roadblocks, by giving the strengths of that team, by empowering them to use the ideation process to redirect their course. Now I've had the great pleasure and opportunity to educate leaders on all levels on the power of a thriving culture and how it can be used to channel high performance teams. We emphasize the value of setting standards and expectations as these practices that help us reinforce our organization's core values. Goals in themselves are driven by the need for results, while standards drive the behaviors that align with our why. If we don't meet our standards, then there could be consequences like customer attrition, revenue decline, market share depreciation and the worst one is increased turnover, lower morale. Standards should be clear cut and non-negotiable. They are not up for interpretation or manipulation by anyone or anything. Ultimately, goals build upon what we want to do, while standards ensure that what we do is aligned with why we all exist. Leaders are the architects of a world-class values-driven culture, but it is up to everyone else on the team to sustain it. And when we equip our finest people, our most impactful people on the team, with the ability to reinforce and embody these values, teams are held more accountable for behaviors actions. One of the most common issues faced by groups today is outside distraction noise from media outlets, friends, families, spectators or even branches within the organization. This bombardment of conflicting messages can quickly derail any efforts towards maintaining these standards. So how do we silence the negative noise? Well, the answer might be more simpler than you think. We don't fight fire with fire. Trying to counter arguments outside our team's control is only going to feed into its momentum. With modern technology enabling widespread dissemination of information faster than ever before, attempting to extinguish every spark could prove to be a costly waste of resources. The true power of value lies in redirecting our attention towards our own messaging. As leaders, we must ensure that there is consistency and frequency, and that we remain high on delivering strong values and ethical standards, both internally and externally. This is a short episode, so on this episode I want to discuss the value and importance of strong leadership that strive on performance and values, and to help leaders on this journey. I want to concentrate on the five fundamental principles that guide successful values and standards. Number one a shared set of guiding principles and values is key. It is necessary to create a mission statement for the team that clearly outlines goals and objectives. Number two establishing trust and respect through open communication is important. It helps create an environment where everyone feels comfortable speaking their minds freely and openly towards achievement of that goal, without fear of reprisal. Number three celebrating diversity among individuals encourages a variety of unique perspectives that bring new ideas to the table, spurring innovation within the group as a whole. And number four acknowledging achievement as well as our mistakes provides learning opportunities. That drives growth, improvement, involvement and the development of the team members individually and collectively. And finally, promoting balance between physical, mental and emotional health creates a safe atmosphere where everyone on the team can thrive securely during their journey towards reaching their peak performance. Now, as you draw this short episode together to a close, I want to leave you with an inspirational quote that brings together the core message of this podcast episode. We strive to provide meaningful insights that can help shape strong and capable leaders. To this end, anita Roddick's words ring true. She said, quote leadership isn't just about being a role model. It's also about being motivating and enabling others so they can work towards one unified goal while upholding your shared values. End quote Leadership is an incredible journey of growth and exploration. It is a unique combination of experience, knowledge and agility. You have to create an environment that encourages creativity and allows for ideation process to emerge, and, as a leader, it is our job to inspire people with a strong call to action, while being passionate about the cause at hand. The road can be really hard at times, but the rewards are well worth it.
