Show Notes

Marc Muench is a professional landscape and wildlife photographer, an educator, and a founding partner at Muench Workshops, where he helps teach people who love photography and nature while taking them to the coolest places on the planet. Marc is a third-generation photographer following his grandfather Josef Muench, his father, David Muench, and his photographer-artist, Bonnie Muench.

In this episode, Richard and Marc chat while crossing the Drake Passage after a 20-plus-day expedition to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island, and Antarctica. They discuss “The Art of Seeing,” photography workshops – including what it takes to be a good teacher and a good student. Marc talks about how he got his start in commercial and editorial photography - including a ski photography trip in Iran – and the influences of his grandfather, father, and mother in his decision to become a professional photographer. He also takes some interesting questions from guests on the ship!
