«Viewpoints» is the latest podcast and news magazine produced by the Community Radio Fund of Canada. It provides an overview of what’s happening across Canada, thanks to some 20 radio reporters posted across the country (British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, North West Territories, Québec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) and working for the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). The Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) supports the production of original civic journalism news content that covers the diverse needs of underserved communities across Canada. Politics, society, environment, community, arts and culture take the air on «Viewpoints» hosted by Boris Chassagne. The Community Radio Fund of Canada works in collaboration with the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC).

Quebec’s expanding religious symbol ban sparks discussions about secularism. To Nova Scotia, where a Bookmobile delivers books, but also, a “sense of community” along Liverpool’s South Shore. In New Brunswick, a local historian publishes 1000 page-long book on the Canadian First World War cap badges! In Cobourg, Ontario, the Nightstop program is looking for volunteers willing to share their homes with homeless youth. And one person can make a big difference in the lives of many others. Oleh Dehtiarov’s Iron Man run is fuelling a bigger fight for Ukraine.
Our journalists this week: Rick Conrad, Adam Inniss, Ryan Funk, Dan Jones and Aidan Keenan. Our National Editors are Victoria Fenner and Conrad Fox. Viewpoints is produced by the Community Radio Fund of Canada and the Local Journalism Initiative. Host and producer, Boris Chassagne.
