So I want to ask uh, how did you get into the how did you get the cross? How did you start start off with artists with managing artists?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I ain't never I ain't never managed, so so I thought you was uh managing sign.
SPEAKER_06I thought you were sign manager. During sign run, bro.
SPEAKER_01You thought it was sign manager?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and then I thought y'all switched spots.

SPEAKER_01No, so the thing is I just been doing this for for a long time, bro. So like it probably just looked like that, but it was just a resource. Yeah, yeah. I just like I said, when I can do everything, bro, I can do everything. So it probably just looked like that, bro. Okay. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05That makes sense. So how long you been writing songs?
SPEAKER_01Well, I've been making music my whole life, bro. Like, uh shit. So me and Sim, we started, we started make writing raps in a rap book in like maybe second, third grade. I mean, but before then, I was rapping. My god brother, Pendulum Creative Space, he owned this. Who here was his name? He had he had me rapping. Say the name rapping back in the day.

SPEAKER_01Yes, sir. Yes, sir. But yeah, my whole life, bro, I've been making music forever. Like started off rapping because I I always was the a lot of the time I was the youngest, like with it with my family, so they always rapping and all that, so they made me rap. I mean, it just uh it just escalated to my sound now because I always wanted to sing too. I used to be in the mirror, singing usher and shit when I was a young boy, but I can't sing.
SPEAKER_06How would you describe your sound? Because me and Dove was talking earlier. I I said RB artists, uh-huh, and he said melodic artists.
SPEAKER_01It's both, bro. It depends. I got I got a bunch of different bags, I ain't gonna lie. So I'm gonna I'm gonna let y'all hear some shit later, but I got a bunch of different bags, so I can go like RB, I can go melodic artists love my cologne, it's more like a melodic drone, but I got I got uh RB drones, and I got shit like rap shit, hard shit too, but that's not my favorite thing to me, though. Okay, that's too that's easy to me, I feel like that's yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like earlier when uh we was leaving my own spot, he was like, Yeah, who y'all got tonight? I was like, Yeah, we got an RB artist. So that I never really thought about it until we just said it like, oh shit. I like that. I ain't gonna lie.
SPEAKER_01I like that.
SPEAKER_06Because that's that that was most of the songs that I've been listening to from a year. Okay, like I know um we're gonna we're gonna get into it later also, but I know the drawing, um, I think it's called No Feelings from uh 2024. Okay. Yeah, like that. Like that drawing, I've ran that draw back a couple times. My dog, I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_06Um so when did when did music stop being a hobby for you and started being a purpose?
SPEAKER_01Um music is is to be honest, bro, it's it's my life for real for real. So like I don't even look at it as if it's a hobby or if it's a purpose. It's just something I do, bro. Like, sometimes like I get in a more where I be like, man, I'm done with this shit, bro, but it always find its way back to me. So like it's just it's just what I do. Like it's not, I never like categorized it. It's just it's just me. It's just me.
SPEAKER_06So what was the first song that made you realize like I I got something that I can take a little further?
SPEAKER_01That song, first song that I did?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I got so many songs, bro. I don't, I don't, to be honest, I don't know. The first song I saw.
SPEAKER_06Like when did it hit you that that made you say like I wanted to take it to that next level and not make it just writing in a rap book with my homie in elementary school?
SPEAKER_01When uh I don't know, probably probably hearing like hearing other people play my shit, or or or like I ain't gonna lie, hearing women like, oh this this good, this hot. Like, oh yeah, like alright, cool. I'ma I'ma keep going. If you think this shit hot, fuck it, let's go. But I I got so many songs I can't think back to just one, bro. Like, it's so many times where I thought this was it. Like, so I don't I don't know. Like I I go through waves. So how I make my songs, bro, I go through waves, like I cannot make no songs for a while, and then next thing you know, I make 10 songs. And then that's a whole new different sound and shit that I'm making. So I go through different, you know, errors.
SPEAKER_04Do you uh create for yourself first or the audience first?
SPEAKER_01It depends on what I'm creating, it depends on the mood I'm in. See, I got songs like uh I can't even think of the name of it right now, but I got songs where I do it for just for therapy. Like I don't even want to put it out for real. Cause I I could cry through a song, like record recording some shit. And then I'm like, I ain't putting this out, but then other people hear like, oh this shit hard. So I'm like, all right, maybe I should put this out. So it it depends on uh why I'm creating at the time.
SPEAKER_05That's real.
SPEAKER_06And that was me with the uh, like I said, the drawing no feelings. Like I I felt it.
SPEAKER_01I felt something. Yeah, like it just depends on the mode I'm in.

SPEAKER_05When I first heard you, it was more of a rap thing. So that's why when he said RB, I did think like, damn, the last couple johns was he was.
SPEAKER_01I'll be in and out of the pockets. Like it just depends on how I'm feeling for real. How the beat make me feel.
SPEAKER_06What was the story behind this drone?
SPEAKER_01What no feelings? Yeah. Um left my phones with my last bitch. I probably was in the I probably was in the mold in the mold, like, you mean fuck these bitches type shit. Like, I mean, I'm about to that's probably why it hit me. I'm about to turn up. I mean, I don't give a fuck about none of this shit. Like, I'm turning up. I mean, I told you I felt so it's about me.

SPEAKER_05I would just say your sound has changed over the years since you've been doing this.
SPEAKER_01Um, over since the beginning.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, so I started off just rapping. You know, now it's like I try to I try to mix rapping and singing. I try to perfect that. So I feel like I'm at the point now where I got that down pack to where I could like merge the two. So like my singing is like it got bars in it. Okay. If that makes sense. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06If somebody could only hear one Ryan Marcus song for the rest of their life, which one you giving them?
SPEAKER_01It's unreleased. They unreleased, they probably get here yet. Like just one. See I I feel like I got a song called Been Too Long that I like a whole lot. Um Yeah, yeah, I think so. That's the one.

SPEAKER_01I think that's the one. But I got, bro, when I tell you I got a lot of songs, like, this shit just easy to me. Like, I didn't I can I do this in my sleep. I make I make hits.

SPEAKER_06With uh with that misconception with RB being dead, why uh why is it hard for vulnerability to um to be seen in today's music?
SPEAKER_01It's hard for um I think it's everybody everybody wanna feel like they got it together. Everybody wanna feel like like or or make it seem like they did everything's perfect. And you mean it it it ain't. It ain't. That's that that's how I feel about it. Everybody wanna make it seem like they got it together when they don't. That's why nobody wants to be vulnerable, because nobody wanna seem like they weak.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's that that's definitely true, man. Definitely, man. Everybody be doing it. I don't know why. I feel like I mean, music is where you come in and then you you show your vulnerability, especially if you got a nice, you know, listening crowd.
SPEAKER_01No, for sure. You're supposed to be vulnerable in your music though.
SPEAKER_05You got to for sure. That's how I I try to translate that into podcasting too, because in the beginning I was a little dry with it. I ain't really gonna share my life like that. But I'm like, damn, I got to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because you never know who feels the same way as you or going through the same shit as you, you never know.
SPEAKER_05It should be defeats the purpose in a sense, you know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm. So you had to get that right.
SPEAKER_06What's more important to you? A great voice or a great story?
SPEAKER_01A great voice or a great story? I think uh I think the story is definitely important. I mean, uh they definitely make a marriage though, because you gotta sometimes the voice to convey your story gotta be good, or nobody gonna hear that shit, or would be trying to hear it. So I think they make a marriage, but I feel like the story is more important. Because if you ain't got a story, you ain't got shit to talk about.
SPEAKER_05True. Um if you could erase like one trend from music forever, what trend would that be?
SPEAKER_01Uh turn the camera on and dancing. No cap. Like I feel like these days you gotta that's how you gotta promote a song, or I gotta turn the camera on and dance now.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, all you need is uh 20 seconds of that.
SPEAKER_01So I'm not a dancing ass nigga, I don't do that. So it's like I'm never gonna win in that lane because that's not me. I'm not cutting the camera on, shaking my hips, uh, none of that shit.

SPEAKER_06I mean another one of the uh songs that stuck out to me was uh from uh a couple years ago was Players Club. Do you uh do people want to commit today? Do you feel like people want to commit?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know. Because everybody on the internet and they see all the options that got there. Um it could be the illusion of options, or you could be somebody that got options, but you see it out there, they I mean everybody wants a piece of it.
SPEAKER_05I think it most I think it mostly can be the illusion because they might be accessible in some type of uh you know, sort of way, but they might not be there for you, literally, you know what I mean? Like a lot of chicks, we all know niggas been getting girls all their lives, but very seldom do we find the ones, you know what I'm saying? That's not down for it. So yeah, it is an illusion because I haven't been there, bro. Like still there sometimes. They there, but it's like you know what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01You ain't there for me though, you just there.
SPEAKER_05So it's like, you know, I might people might say, Oh, you got dismount of girls or whatever that you talk to, but at the same time, only one, two of them I really can count on. Exactly. Not for like, you know, no crazy shit, but just like just be there for you mentally. Exactly. That's what we need the most, especially in these times.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the the rush, they just there for the time that you can provide when you can provide it. Once that time over, they gone.

SPEAKER_06So do you think social media is the relation is the reason why relationships are becoming disposable?
SPEAKER_01Social media. Yes and no, yes and no. Because also society today, the the way like our generation came up, it was like the man wasn't in the house for real, right? So it's like, oh, the woman, they're like, Oh, I can do anything, blah blah blah. So it's like once uh a girl grow up and seeing their mom do that, they feel like they can do the same thing, so the shit get passed on where they don't feel like they don't need a man. Right. See what I'm saying? So that I feel like that played a part in in the why relationships is is so it's messed up today, but the internet too, for sure.
SPEAKER_05I think over uh overthinking plays a part in it too.
SPEAKER_01Overthinking, oh yeah. Because you never know, you never know what somebody's doing.
SPEAKER_05I think that's the problem, man. People be thinking too much, man, and they start doing the wrong things, like going through phones and all that. You might not even be doing nothing at the time, but they gonna find something. Yeah, a lot of them.

SPEAKER_05Yeah, it might be that one little thing that they seen, little little twitch somewhere, and they like, oh man, they doing such and such. It's always when I go both ways too, because niggas do it too.

SPEAKER_06The song that we were listening to earlier, Love My Cologne. What makes someone or what makes you truly confident?
SPEAKER_01What makes me confident? I feel like uh, what's just about to say?
SPEAKER_06Because you know, uh cologne is a confident booster for a lot of people. So that's why I'm asking. Does it do something for you confident? If not, then what does it feel you're confident?
SPEAKER_01Um, it depends sometimes. It depends, but I feel like it's what's instilled in you as a kid. So like I grew up with confident people around me. So like nobody, I ain't have a choice but to be confident. See what I'm saying? Everybody took tell you you the shit when you're a kid, you the shit. Not just your mom, though. Your mom is the one that's supposed to instill that confidence in you.

SPEAKER_01It's like it's it started as a kid, so like confidence, like it's you definitely like you said, cologne is a confidence booster, but it gotta be in you. Like it gotta be. SPEAKER_01That's a fine line. That's a fine line. I feel like arrogance is like you try to shit on other people with your with your confidence. Like I'm confident and I try to boost other motherfuckers up too. Like, I ain't just confident in like motherfuckers that's arrogant be confident and they like, yeah, fuck y'all type shit. Like, I'm confident, I want my man. We all this shit, not just me. Like, if you can exude your confidence on other people and make them, bro, that's that's the difference.
