SPEAKER_02

Welcome back to NextFit Fantasy Football Podcast. My name is Jake, and I'm once again joined by my friend Adam. Adam, how are you?

SPEAKER_04

I am riding the wave, man. The good, the bad, just you know, good things happen, bad things happen. Uh typical, typical day um for everybody on planet earth, most likely, you know, unless you're living the perfect dream, which is rare, but you know, it's I'm always living the dream.

SPEAKER_02

That's like my go-to.

SPEAKER_04

I I'm alive, I'm healthy, I am I am thankful. So that is that is where I'm at. How about you, buddy?

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, it's been good. It's been good. We've missed the last two weeks, both because of me for a change. I was sick, deathly sick, and then something happened at the draft. I don't remember what happened. But regardless, Adam, give me 30 seconds thoughts on the draft.

SPEAKER_04

Man, there were some. It's like riding a wave. It was highs, there were lows. Um overall, it was a good time. And and I think that the the talking point forever will be did the Rams reach? I guess we won't know until Matthew Stafford retires.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm Ty Simpson.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Jeremiah Love going to the Cardinals. That sucks.

SPEAKER_04

Love it.

SPEAKER_02

That sucks for fantasy. Yeah, it's sure it'll work out. We'll talk more about that when we get to the NFC West. Uh today we're gonna be talking we're gonna start the breakdowns. Eight weeks straight, where we talk the top five fantasy players on each team. It's rigorous. There's lots of research, but we're here to do it. Uh, we do have some NFL note uh news and notes though, Adam. Quarterback news, two of them. Just this just in as of 7 15 p.m. on May 7th, 2026. Breaking news. Breaking news. Taylor Heineke has retired. Oh. What are your thoughts?

SPEAKER_04

Can I give you my favorite Taylor Heineke moment?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

When he beat or almost beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs as the Washington Commanders emergency quarterback that became a sensation. Um, had a great play in that game. I think it was either a scramble or like a scramble throw for a tutty. Um, just was rooting for him, you know, to beat the GOAT. Uh, but that was my favorite moment.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, he's a fun one. Uh you know, got the chance to start some games, net worth of$18.9 million career earnings. Good for him. Fun backup. Could definitely be on a team if he wanted to be, but hanging it up. How old is he? I don't have how old he was. Off the top of my head. I can find out while we talk about the Adam. Who is the greatest quarterback of all time in my eyes?

SPEAKER_04

Um some obscure backup for the Packers. Craig Null, wasn't that Craig Null.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Taylor Hunick was 33, by the way. Oh, okay. Um let me let me walk you down some memory lane. Picture it. Madden, 12. Might have been earlier. I grab the backup quarterback from the Baltimore Ravens, Tyrod Taylor. Take him over to your Denver Broncos. We win eight straight Super Bowls ever since I have a lot. Playing on rookie? Oh, yeah. Uh I love Tyrod Taylor. Ty God, as we like to call him. Everyone in the home league knows how much I love Tyrod Taylor. And now he's backing up Jordan Love in Green Bay.

SPEAKER_04

That's that's pretty cool. That's full circle.

SPEAKER_02

I'll be getting his jersey. I love Tyrod Taylor. Fantasy-wise, it doesn't really matter. I will say, I mean, when Tyrod Taylor does play, it's usually a decent fantasy day for him. He offers a lot of rushing upside, and Jordan Love can't seem to stay healthy.

SPEAKER_04

I uh I have a soft spot in my heart for Tyrod Taylor because of that one year he was with the Chargers and he was all set to start. Yeah. And the doctor accidentally punctured his lungs. He is the worst luck in the world. Opening the way for was that Herbert's rookie year for the final year. That's just sad, you know, for Tyrod Taylor.

SPEAKER_02

If you remember when he was the he was the Bill's starting quarterback for a few years, and then they just benched him for Nathan Peterman that one year. Oh, yeah. And then he threw like a million ticks. Yeah. And then just like that, they were like, all right, we'll go back to Tyrod. Ty God, sorry. Ty God. Um love me some Tyrod Taylor. Could be fantasy relevant if he has to play. It wasn't very good for the Jets last year. So maybe I'm looking too much into it. But the point is, is it's a solid pickup for uh the Packers as a backup quarterback, I would say though.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, very solid. Can't go wrong.

SPEAKER_02

Uh clearly they didn't want to change too much of the system, you know, with Malik Willis was the backup. So you know, they get another mobile quarterback. Jordan Love doesn't run like that.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh we do have a listener question coming from John also about the Packers. Um if you want to record a speakpipe for us, speak type speak pipe speakpipe.com forward slash next step F F. Um also it's also on our Facebook page, Facebook.com slash next step fancy football podcast. All right, are you ready? Ready. All right, here we go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I have a question. Is there any player worth taking on the Green Bay Packers? The Packers haven't had a thousand-yard wide receiver since 2022. Jordan Love is an average quarterback, being 15th and 17th in the past two years for fantasy football. And Josh Jacobs has only 900 yards last year and is 28, turning 29 here. Let me know what you think.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, so John, clearly not a Packer fan.

SPEAKER_04

Nope. Uh I don't know what he is because he was a St. Louis Rams fan when they were the greatest show on turf, and then I don't know what he's become since.

SPEAKER_02

So let's so, you know, the Packers haven't had a uh 1,000 yard receiver in forever. Josh Jacobs getting to be uh 28-29. He called Jordan Love mid, which is just not true, but it's fine. Fantasy-wise, he has been mid, but it also he can't stay healthy. So we're gonna talk about that. Let's transition. We're gonna talk about the NFC North. All the famous are all top five players each team. Might as well start with the Packers if that works for you.

SPEAKER_04

We will answer his question just. Yes, we will.

SPEAKER_02

We're gonna do it right now. So we start with Jordan Love, finished as quarterback 15 last year, currently being drafted as cornerback 18 in the 13th round. I'm gonna let you talk about Jordan Love so that my bias doesn't show.

SPEAKER_04

Sure. And uh according to one of our listeners, I'm incredibly biased, so I'm gonna try and lay off of that.

SPEAKER_02

Let's not forget about this bucket here of JK Dobbins as a top five running back.

SPEAKER_04

Stand by it. But anyway, um, Jordan Love. First question is he officially an injury prone quarterback?

SPEAKER_02

No. I mean, I think there's there's injury risk, I think. Injury prone. I mean, it's only been two, he was healthy the first year and then two years. He's kind of been banged up. So I'm not willing to say that yet. It's trending that way, though, I will say.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I think his ADP is fine. I I just don't again, the health thing, sure, but fantasy-wise, just not the most dynamic quarterback. I think a lot of people thought he'd be dual threat coming out of uh when he finally became the starter in Green Bay, but he hasn't been that. I thought he was gonna be a dual.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, my first bookit, I had him like running 500 yards in a season or whatever it was.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, not even close, if I remember. Um, but I think I think that's an a good ADP. He could excel, he could not be where his his ADP is uh or his uh uh preseason quarterback ranking is 18 or whatever. You know, it wouldn't surprise me either way, or he could finish right around there. So I'm I who knows? That's my thing on on Jordan Love.

SPEAKER_02

I think Jordan Love's ceiling or realistic season fantasy-wise is okay, he's quarterback 10. Like he could be quarterback one. I but I'd rather have him as my backup quarterback. He's currently being drafted as a backup quarterback, and that's fine. I think he should be rostered. As a Packer fan who watches lots of Packer games, they love to chuck it down the field. Oh, yeah, stretch it out. And they were not hitting. They were not hitting. So if they hit, I think you know, obviously he'll finish better than that. I think he'll finish right around quarterback 12, 10, somewhere in there. He's fine, fine backup. Um I'm okay with him in if you wait on quarterbacks and you want to uh kind of stream them. That's fine with me to have him there.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

13th round, but he's a backup. Josh Jacobs going into his 28-29 year, he finished as quarterback or running back 12, being drafted as running back 14 at the 3-3 right now. That is exactly where I think he should be.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, boom or bust. I think he's still a touchdown heavy guy. I think he's still got a few good years left in the tank. I think that he will finish a little higher than the running back 12 if he stays healthy. Again, there's there's some question marks with the health of some of these guys for the Packers, but Jacob's good running back. They they who did they take that will compliment him? No one. That's the point. No one.

SPEAKER_02

So they got Marshawn Lloyd as a backup who keeps he catches hamstring injuries by just looking at them. Yep, yep. Yeah, and they lost Emmanuel Wilson, no backup. They so they have Chris Brooks as well. So it should just be a Bell Cow situation there. Oh, yeah. Um, yeah, I mean, they love him in the red zone. I think he's gonna finish right around there. If you go wide receiver, wide receiver with your first two picks, and Josh Jacobs is your running back one, I'm fine with it. Okay, yeah, yeah, I'm fine with it. Uh moving to the receivers, uh, Christian Watson, wide receiver 42, being drafted, or finished wide receiver 42, currently being drafted as wide receiver 29, back end of the seventh round. Um, finally gonna have a chance to be wide receiver one on the Packers. Um we'll see. There's a lot of risk there. He's being drafted as a running or wide receiver three. Yep. I'm okay with that. Wide receiver three with some pretty big game upside, I would say.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he's he's a boomer bust guy again. I mean, I just I like him. However, um the injuries and you know, I've never liked them as far as a star. You know, the backers don't have a star receiver, and now maybe the next guy could develop into that. But uh, you know, just yeah, he's okay. I think that's okay for him too.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Matthew Golden didn't pop off. He's currently going into the wide receiver 58, 19th round. I'm okay with a flyer at the end of your draft with him. And then Jalen Reed, I don't have on our little worksheet here, but he's right around wide receiver 80.

SPEAKER_04

So Jalen Reed or Jaden Reed?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, geez, you always get me. It always gets me. Uh so again, I don't know if they're quite fantasy relevant. I think they could be on rosters, though. The the main the main big one here is Tucker Kraft finishes wide receiver 20 or tight end 21. Um, but he was hurt. He's currently going as tight end three in the fourth round. This is a great philosophical question. Yes, I think he could finish as the tight end one. Are you taking a tight end in the fourth round?

SPEAKER_04

I like to wait. Um you sure do. Unless it's unless it's what's his name from Trey McBride from the Cardinals. But um, I would wait, and people might not draft him because of that injury. Um, I think he's young enough yet where he'll come back just fine, and I think he could be the next big thing if he's healthy.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, I think that if you're gonna draft a tight end, have the cojones to do it in the first or second round, or don't. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like it just doesn't make sense to wait. It's not for me. Yeah, if you take him in the fourth round, fine, but we're we're definitely more wait and see guys.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you better do that every year than on a guy, like be all in.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um, so pretty much as a literature, the whole Packers, a lot of boomer bust, a lot of risk. They are a better football team than they are a fantasy team. But if I I'm okay, I like Josh Jacobs' ADP right now. I not a huge fan of Tucker Krafts, but I'm fine if that's what you want to go with. Yeah. Um a good example if we just move on to so to answer John's question though, uh, is yes, there are I think Josh Jacobs and Tucker Kraft need to be on everybody's fantasy teams. Yep. Christian Watson will be on fantasy teams as a wide receiver three, but you're not looking for much. And Jordan Love, I think, could go off, but that might be the homer in me. Right. Um, moving to the Bears, I'm actually gonna start kind of combine these a little. So Colson Lovelin finishes tight end 12. He's going around later after Tuckercraft. Do you like that more or do you hate that more?

SPEAKER_04

Oh boy. You see what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

We're saying wait. So would you rather, if you're gonna do it, would you rather just pull the trigger and take Tuckercraft in the fourth? Or would you wait again and take Colson Lovelin in the fifth?

SPEAKER_04

See, I I'm at a lot of scores, I guess. Um, I I I would take Kraft in the fourth because he's got such upside. Loveland showed flashes last year, and five, I think, is too high for him.

SPEAKER_02

Like we definitely saw more of it in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, like like wait on him, like he showed flashes towards the end. But um, if he if you can wait on tight end, like don't I don't know. I don't know what to think about Colson Loveland. I really like him. Great singer, by the way. Just a hidden talent I remember if it's um, but not worth the fifth round pick, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this this is more icky to me. Again, could be the bias, but I think I he's currently being drafted as tight end four, which is really high. Uh he's he's like two spots ahead of Tyler Warren, which I like more. Um, but he could go off. I like I see it. I just it's not for me. Again, we're weighed on tight end type of guys. Yeah, um, Caleb Williams finished as quarterback five last year pretty quietly. Uh being drafted as quarterback nine in the ninth round, I am fine with it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, unfortunately, a lot of like fine takes so far. I'm fine with the two. Um, are we gonna get the Caleb Williams that turned it on and became the Iceman? You know, just eventually patent that apparently. Um, I don't know. I'm not a big Caleb Williams believer. I'm a big Ben Johnson believer, but uh is that his guy long term? I guess that doesn't matter for this. Uh it's fine.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I he finishes quarterback five. I don't think he does that again. I think he'll finish right around quarterback nine, quarterback ten, right where you're drafting him.

SPEAKER_04

Unless he rushes more and scores more with his legs, who knows?

SPEAKER_02

But it it's really tied to I think Colson Lovelin. If you think Colson Lovelin will go off, then you're gonna and you want to combine these two, then so be it. Like that's okay. I just it's hard for me to see the quarterback five again. Because I mean there were a lot of I don't want to say lucky because these guys are all really talented. But man, things just came together for the Bears last year. Oh yeah, yeah. Um, yeah, it was, and I just don't I think you're you're fine if you want to like the ninth round, tenth round, that's where we see those second the second or third tier quarterbacks start going. Um so if you want to take him there, take him there, fine. Just I would say temper your expectations. Yep. He's the he's a back end starter to me. If you want to take him and then Jordan Love four rounds later, I like that a lot. Yeah, it's good. Okay, here's something interesting. Roma Dunze finishes wide receiver 40. He was a monster to start the year and then was like wide receiver 40 41, wide receiver 50, wide receiver 36, just back to back. Finishes wide receiver 40, going in the seventh round, 7.7, wide receiver 27. Luther Burden finishes his wide receiver 50. He's going a pick later, 7.8, wide receiver 28. Going back, Christian Watson going at 7-9, wide receiver 29. They are all right next to each other. You are picking in the seventh round, Adam. Which of those three guys are you taking?

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. Um, you got a quarter? Can I can I put a quarter three times?

SPEAKER_02

It's really crazy that Burden's being drafted. I think Burden is being probably a little overdrafted based on what he did last year. And I think Odunze is being under drafted.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I I think both those guys have significant upside, so does Watson, obviously. But at the same time, it's like I don't want to have that choice between all three of them. I don't want to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_02

They're all wide receiver threes, right? So if you I can answer, I'm kicking a dunze overall three. Yep, I was looking forward to the water. We've seen him be a he was a top five receiver for like seven weeks of this year of the year. If he gets it put together, he could. I mean, that's the type of thing that could win you a league.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I lean his way as well. So I I guess him.

SPEAKER_02

I would go, I would go Adunze, Watson, Burden.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, because we Burden's got a small sample size.

SPEAKER_02

So I really like Odunze's ADP there. Yeah. Um, and then we got DeAndre Swift who finishes running back 15, going as running back 24. In the sixth round. My thought on that is yep, that is exactly what he does. He gets 14 fantasy points. He's all he's not flashy, he's not amazing, he's just a plug and play, and that's fine in the sixth round.

SPEAKER_04

I I love DeAndre Swift. I've always kind of liked him even when he was a Detroit Lion. Um, grossly underused there, in my opinion. However, um there's one guy that's gonna cause a mess for him, and maybe we'll make Swift irrelevant this year, and that's Menungai.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I am a huge Menungai fan, and he's not on there because Swift is a little highly higher rated, but I think uh Manungai is gonna take over that backfield this year. That's my prediction.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you're he's gonna take it over? So you're drafting him everywhere you can.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I'm I'm pretty high on him.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I think that is fair. I don't see why not that couldn't happen. I just don't think I think Swift continues to hold the backfield, but I I could see Manongai taking over. I mean, when he had the opportunity, he did really well.

SPEAKER_04

So can I introduce this next team?

SPEAKER_02

Please do.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Your upcoming 2026 NFC Northern Champion, Detroit Lions.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, let's relax. Uh by the way, for uh here's the thing. Just go back one second. Uh Manungai is going around later than DeAndre Swift. So you'd have to take him in the seventh. Are you comfortable with that?

SPEAKER_04

I'm comfortable with that.

SPEAKER_02

You're taking him over Tony Pollard, your boy JK Dobbins.

SPEAKER_04

Um Bill Cross. Better better better uh double Don on Dobbins.

SPEAKER_02

No, I wouldn't take him over Dobbins. Okay. Uh Jared Goff finishes quarterback eight. He's going in the he's being drafted as quarterback 17 in the 14th round. I love that. He is the perfect if you want to, if you want to wait, wait and go, if you want to wait and take uh a quarterback later, such as like I'm looking here, Mahomes goes in the 13th, Purdy's going in the 11th, take one of them and then take Jared Goff. Love that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I'm a big Jared Goff guy, but I I don't know. Ever since Ben Johnson left again, I'm a Ben Johnson guy, but uh he's just I think that's fine for him with his ADP, his QB17 thing. I mean, take him if you love him, but he's gonna maybe be your backup this year.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think I think I'd rather take wait an extra round and take him over Jordan Love.

SPEAKER_04

Really?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I it depends on I I guess it just depends on what your who your first quarterback is, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he he has more weapons, I guess, in theory on paper.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather if you have a quarterback early and then had got Goff is just your backup and you're fine for that for one week, that's fine, right? But I think Jordan Love's upside is probably higher. Yeah, if everything goes right. Uh Jameer Gibbs, running back four, he's going or he finishes running back four, he's going as at the one-two. It is a complete toss-up everywhere I looked. It's either him or Bijan going first. Who is your number one pick?

SPEAKER_04

Give me Gibbs.

SPEAKER_02

No, David Montgomery.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, I think it's his catcher. Yep, he's the Bel Cow man. And I I think he's just on a better team.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, hey, hey, they have Isaiah Pacheco.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, cool. Um, anyway, um he's I think he's he's on the better team than Bijan. Uh, I like Bijan Robinson. I'll talk about him more later, but uh he's in Atlanta, so yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I have Jameer Gibbs as my number one player as well. I had him last year in the home movie game. It was just great. It's just so much fun. He's so good. Yeah, he's awesome to watch. He's explosive.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, just he's if I could get him in Manungai, that would be a dream come true.

SPEAKER_02

You'd have be okay with Manungai as running back two on your team. I think he's I think very highly not listen to me. Do not wait to the seventh round to take your second running back.

SPEAKER_04

But checkers.

SPEAKER_02

But I mean, if we're just just using NFC North here, you have the first pick, you take you take Gibbs, and then you take on the turn in the second round, you're taking a receiver, whoever it might be, right? And then Josh Jacobs as your running back two. You probably feel pretty good about that. There are gonna be teams that look like that.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I'm looking at yeah, so I don't know how much we need to talk about Gibbs. He's amazing. Draft him, he's great.

SPEAKER_03

Go for it.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I'm on Ross A. Brown going at the 1-8. He's the wide receiver four, he finished his wide receiver three last year. He is going right behind Jackson, Jackson Smith the Jigba, ahead of Cd Lamb, and Justin Jefferson. Yeah. Where would you have him in the pleth in the receivers? Like you're not taking him over Chase, probably not over Puka. Would you take him over JSN? No, I would take JSN. Would you take him over C D Lamb? Yes. Okay, so he's right where he needs to be. Yep. Um I think I'd probably rank my five just a little differently, but I might even put him above JSN. He's just so good.

SPEAKER_03

He's really good.

SPEAKER_02

Never heard he plays really well. Draft him, feel good about it.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

You know.

SPEAKER_04

100%.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, at the at the one one nine, you can draft him and have Justin Jefferson. How nice would that be?

SPEAKER_04

That'd be pretty sweet. Pretty sweet.

SPEAKER_02

Um Sam, so you don't need to talk about that. Jameson Williams finishes wide receiver 10. No idea how. Um and then he's currently going at wide receiver 24 in the seventh round.

SPEAKER_04

Take him. Take him, take him, take him.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, that right there shows you the upside, right? Going as wide receiver 25, he finished as wide receiver 10 last year.

SPEAKER_04

So he can I am I've been a big fan of his, and other years he's really bite bought or I've been bit by him because he's such boomer bust, but last year it finally paid off.

SPEAKER_02

It's true. Um yeah, we really don't need it. I think the Lions are easy. They're all being drafted, they're all really good.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

I could see why you're calling in the NFC North champions. I think Jameson Williams, though, is a really good value as it currently stands. I'm sure that will change come August.

SPEAKER_04

I'd be like, if you compare him with a guy like uh Chase, you know, you draft Chase early and then wait and get Williams later, that's pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Um Sam Laporta finishes tight end 27. Going as tight end seven right now in the 12th round, fine. Like if you wait on a tight end, sure. My problem, and the Adam, the look Adam is giving me, I'm sure he agrees with me, is God, does he just burn you every year?

SPEAKER_04

Every year, man. He's the new uh Kyle Pitts. He's like Kyle Pitts.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, and Kyle Pitts was tight end one last year, so let's calm down.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I know before that.

SPEAKER_02

Like I bet Laporta becomes tight end one this year, just I think this is the first year though where I feel fine drafting him because you're not over drafting him. I feel like for the last three years it was like take him in the third. That didn't work out. All right, take him in the fifth. Right. All right, that didn't work out. Take him in the eighth. So at 12, we've seen it work, right? We've seen it work. He's a fine streaming tight end. Would you say a 12th round tight end is a streaming tight end?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I would say so. I mean, you've you've got another guy that's probably similar, and you're just gonna stream him best matchups every week, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

So I am a big fan of doing that, waiting until late, late.

SPEAKER_04

Unless it's straight McBride.

SPEAKER_02

Unless it's straight McBride. But even then, I mean Sam Laporta, I feel pretty locked in at starting him unless he's pretty bad, which he usually isn't, or like that isn't terrible. I'm a pretty big fan at waiting and like 13th, 14th, and then taking a tight end and then just playing it like a kicker. Right. Where you just play matchups. Um a 12th round is fine.

unknown

Nope.

SPEAKER_02

All right, moving up to the Minnesota Vikings, who look a little different. Uh let's start with let's get TJ Hawkinson out of the way. He was once tight end one, he is currently undrafted. Finishes wide receiver 26. Gross. Don't take him. Do yourself a favor and don't do that to yourself.

SPEAKER_04

You know what meant and changed him forever was that one touchdown that got called back because it wasn't a catch, apparently, and he was never the same.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, I believe it was actually the knee injury that never really changed it.

SPEAKER_04

Probably that too, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Nope, it was the non-catch. Matt and James or Jesse James or whatever that guy was, the stealer. Um, all right, let's go running back first. Jordan Mason, Aaron Jones. Um, they're currently being drafted right next to each other. So 10-5 and the 10-6, running back 40-41. Pick one to own. Because there will be a time, is I mean, you draft him running back 40. He's your fourth or fifth running back, probably on your team. So you're just looking for upside. Aaron Jones is older. Jordan Mason didn't produce when he had the chance to, though.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What is your call?

SPEAKER_04

I take Jones just because I really like Aaron Jones, and um, he's got higher upside as I think as far as just his bursts, if he's healthy, but again, he's older. Um, you know, I don't want either of them on my team, to be honest with you. So, but you're probably gonna have them as a flex uh realistically in one of your leagues. I guess take Jones, is what I'm saying. For Old Mary.

SPEAKER_02

I would take Jones as well for the pass catching. Jordan Mason has the touchdown upside, though. Yes, it's just it's a it's a shot in the dark, that's all it is. And neither of them are very exciting. No in a dynasty league, I'm I'm forced to start Aaron Jones right now, and it's just it's just not what you want. It's dope. Um, so to our expert answer is Yep.

SPEAKER_04

So playing uh Sackbag.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if give me Aaron Jones, don't feel good about it. If you're listening right now and you're like, oh, give me Jordan Mason, fine.

SPEAKER_04

You can have us.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Justin Jefferson finishes his wide receiver 25, which which is you know pretty good considering he had oh, I'm blanking on his name. JJ McCarthy, but what number does he have? Number nine, nine nine, nine. I love that gif of him trying to like be hyped up. Yep, be cool, he's just like bouncing back and forth. What a bum. Uh uh currently being dropped at the 2-2 wide receiver seven. Man, if that could go down, I'd feel so much better. But I think that's gonna stay right there. Getting Jeff Justin Jefferson, we've seen him be the wide receiver one in the second round is awesome. Oh, yeah, it is awesome. Pick him up if you're at the 110, 112, whatever it is, take him there too. He's currently would be at the 112 in a 12 team. I I have no problem. You want to reach, you want to take him over Drake London, great, Malik Neighbors, great, CD Lamb, fine. Like, yeah, I love me some uh jettis.

SPEAKER_04

Be be like an eagle swooping down to get a fish. That's what I would do. And then go get him.

SPEAKER_02

That is a reflection of the quarterback that we'll talk about here in a second. Jordan Addison, wide receiver 44. He finished as being drafted as wide receiver 40 in the 11th round. Fine again, I think that's right where he needs to be. He's your wide receiver four, he has upside. Um he's fine. I feel like we're not arguing much on the NFC North, which is fine. I think we agree. That's good, yeah. It's nice to see guys not being crazy over drafted. I'm sure over the next seven divisions we're gonna find some people, but that's fine. It's like what do you expect as as a wide receiver 40? Like, what do you want out of that, right? What I want is upside and uh Jordan Addison, we've seen him have huge games before.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And if Justin Jefferson gets were to get hurt, he's he'd be he's immediately the wide receiver one with a better quarterback, and that is Kyler Murray. Being drafted as quarterback 16 in the 16th round. We're both looking at each other. I think that we might disagree on this one. Okay, it is the best value of any quarterback we have talked about. That is absolutely correct. It is amazing. I have my first booket of the year. Oh boy, Kyler Murray will be a top 10 fantasy quarterback this year.

SPEAKER_04

Gosh dang right.

SPEAKER_02

I love the coach. I love this. This are you typing this in? Yep. Okay. Um, this is a nut. I think this is this could resurrect his career.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Kevin O'Connell is a fantastic coach. He has rushing upside. If he can stay healthy, it is going to work out.

SPEAKER_04

If he can stop gaming, uh no, no, no well.

SPEAKER_02

You know, the new Call of Duty is not going to come straight to Game Pass on Xbox this year. So he'll have to buy it. And I don't know if he has the money. Too many microtransactions. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um I love Caleb Murray. Um I spoke on that a while ago. Um, I think that is the best value. If you want to reach a little higher than that and take him, perfect. I think he's gonna be QB1. I agree with you.

SPEAKER_02

Top 10 is hold on, slow down. QB1.

SPEAKER_04

Uh not QB1, sorry, but QB starter for your team.

SPEAKER_02

Um, starter for your team. All right.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. I think early he's gonna show why Minnesota believes in him, and I think he's gonna get a mega extension with Minnesota eventually. I think the the guy you mentioned, Kevin O'Connell, is gonna make him elite if he stays healthy and bought it.

SPEAKER_02

The health is the biggest problem. These are the best Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison are the best receivers he's had since DeAndre Hopkins.

SPEAKER_04

100%.

SPEAKER_02

And even then, I mean, D Hop was still getting a little older in the tooth, you know. Um this is a great one where you draft, you draft last year in the home league. I drafted or got Lamar Jackson, and I was like, that's great. And then I was like, you know what? Take a flyer on Drake May, and then you can trade him later on because he was amazing, right? This is a this is another one of these, in my opinion. Would you rather have him or Malik Willis? They're going right around the same area.

unknown

Kyler.

SPEAKER_02

I also would want Kyler. Uh it's yeah, so right now it's oh, here's one. Going up five five picks before Kyler is Bo Nicks.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, Bo. I'm not supposed to be Kyler. I'll take Kyler.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so we uh we love Kyler, and I think we're gonna talk about that a lot when we come to undervalued, when we talk about sleepers going into the summer. Um it's gonna be a big one.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah, it'll be fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. So there we go. There is the NFC North first one, one down, seven to go, baby. Um, some fun news. Jordan will be joining us here in the next couple episodes coming up. Uh it's just didn't work out tonight, only because of timing, Adam. If we would have started an hour later, he would have been in. So I and I told him that when he joins us, he better have some hot takes to say.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, he he might talk the whole show.

SPEAKER_02

We just won't speak. Uh next week we will get to the NFC East. We have a whole bunch. I have to fill out a whole bunch of stuff still in there. Because could you tell me who the tech wide receiver two is for the commanders right now? Absolutely not. It I think it'll be Brandon Ayuk, but who knows? Um, so we'll get into that. I'm sure we will not agree on Saquon Barkley. It'll be a lot of fun. Do you have anything else you want to say to the people?

SPEAKER_04

Just happy to do this with you, man. And just uh, you know, go Broncos, go twins, go go uh go Notre Dame and go Lakeland Thunderbirds, man.

SPEAKER_02

Awesome. Can't wait to get my Tyrod Taylor jersey. Take care, be good.
