Welcome back to the Next F Fantasy Football Podcast. My name is Jake, and I'm joined by my friend Adam once again. How are you, Adam?
SPEAKER_03Doing great, buddy.
SPEAKER_02It's your birthday. Happy birthday.
SPEAKER_03Thank you, bud. Hey, it's uh it's good. I'm 33 years young. I'm aging like fine wine, some might say.
SPEAKER_02So you look terrible to me. That's why you can no longer see us everywhere. Thank you. Appreciate that. You're like, I really needed that today. Adam, what is the best part of a birthday? Your birthday. What's the best part of just your birthday in general?
SPEAKER_01Hmm.
SPEAKER_03Probably honestly, this sounds corny, but sharing it with my twin sis. Like I know, you know, it's just she doesn't even listen.
SPEAKER_02We don't care.
SPEAKER_03I know she hasn't listened to one episode, and I hate her. She likes the dolphins. She's my best friend.
SPEAKER_02So I mean, so she's kind of money. Oh, oh, she is, huh? I guess that's a great time to say. Also, considering I'm not your best friend, neither is this guy who's joining us. Jordan is back. Jordan. What's up, guys?
SPEAKER_01Jake. I am your best friend.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_01You're my best friend too.
SPEAKER_03Jordan, you're my best friend. I didn't know you're just what a birthday surprise.
SPEAKER_01All right, quickly. Good to be back with you guys.
SPEAKER_02Quickly, best birthday cake flavor.
SPEAKER_03Uh, Adam, go. Uh, chocolate with some cream cheese frosting. I'm a simple guy. Jordan.
SPEAKER_01Yellow cake, chocolate frosting. Okay. Uh, cake is gross. That's that's all I missed. You said you said you just asked us what our favorite birthday cake flavor was. Correct.
SPEAKER_02I do not care for cake.
SPEAKER_01So what do you get? What do you eat on your birthday?
SPEAKER_02I don't.
SPEAKER_01Ice cream? You don't eat on your birthday?
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, I eat. I don't just go. I do a 36-hour fast, actually.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I just don't do a dessert. What do you put a candle in then? We don't.
SPEAKER_02A pizza. Yeah, I'm more of like uh take the take the $10, put it towards a nice steak.
SPEAKER_01A candle is $10.
SPEAKER_02Well, no, but the cake is.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I missed this. All right, well, you got any news? You got any news for us, man?
SPEAKER_02Uh any news. Uh Jordan, any news today?
SPEAKER_01Oh. Listen, you're putting me on the spot. I did not come prepared with news. Oh. You guys already talked about Ty God. I heard that last episode.
SPEAKER_03Oh, we should.
SPEAKER_01It's worth calling out again because the hype was not re- Adam. You did not give appropriate amount of hype to how dare this is for Jalen in his life to have Ty God on the Packers.
SPEAKER_02So anyway, I am fantastic. Every two days I'm looking for when the Tyrod Taylor Packer jerseys come out. Believe it or not, they haven't come out yet. Ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01I unfortunately I do believe that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, the only news I got today, or since last episode, there really any big news. Malik Neighbors went under the knife again, apparently. Oh boy. He uh doing some cleanup. If you're a betting man, do you think Malik Neighbors plays week one? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna go with no. Do you just hate to hear that? Yeah, you like don't want to hear that anymore. I mean, I'm not a doctor, but like the I it just you know what? If it went great the first time around, you know, it's just so we'll see. But I did I did I did see that story and it was a to deal with some stiffness and soreness. Yes.
SPEAKER_02So also Aaron Rodgers was in Pittsburgh and then didn't meet with the Steelers, which is like the most Aaron Rodgers thing you could ever imagine.
SPEAKER_03I like how they said he's visiting the Steelers. I'm like, isn't he on them?
SPEAKER_02Or like we're like, how are you gonna go? Aaron Rodgers isn't going to Pittsburgh for fun.
SPEAKER_03No, who goes to Pittsburgh for fun?
SPEAKER_02Whoa, first of all.
SPEAKER_01Shout out Pittsburgh for all of our PA fans. Yes, fantastic, fantastic town, Steel City.
SPEAKER_02Um, I've been there or to Heinz Field or whatever it's called now. Uh biggest or the farthest away seats I've ever had. Highest you could possibly be. Love it. Terrifying. I almost didn't make it.
SPEAKER_01Well, good to have you here, Jake.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah. All right. Uh before we get in, Jordan. We're currently in the midst of breaking down the uh divisions. Last week we did the NFC North. Today we're gonna do the NFC East, which hopefully, Jordan, you being here will help add some uh some conflict because last week Adam and I just agreed on everything.
SPEAKER_01I agree on nothing. There we go.
SPEAKER_02But first, we have a listener question. If you want to have your question read on the podcast, go to speakpipe.com slash next step FF. Today is our question is from someone who called I Don't Know, so I don't know who it is. But here we go.
SPEAKER_00Hey guys, great show. Uh question for you. How do you think Patrick Mahomes' ACL tear recovery will impact the Chiefs skill players? Predominantly uh Travis Kelsey or Rashi Rice heading into 2026. Thanks.
SPEAKER_02So, how do you think Patrick Mahomes' injury is going to affect Rasheed Rice, Travis Kelsey, and any other skilled people, such as what, Xavier Worthy, Kenneth Walker? They got Justin Fields back in them up. They got that guy from LSU whose name's escaping me.
SPEAKER_01The corner?
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no. They drafted the quarterback as well. Nusmeyer? Who apparently is taking a red shirt year like he was ever gonna start? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um I was worried.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right. So you you you assume Justin Fields starts week one, right? Yeah. Most likely. Absolutely. So we'll put Jordan on the spot. Jordan, how does it affect the skill positions?
SPEAKER_01To me, Kenneth Walker's stock high, high right now. Because you have to imagine, even when Travis, uh even when Patrick Mahomes comes back, they're gonna have to have lean on the run game a little bit more. You just like he's not gonna come back and be like running around and slinging it and you know doing all this magic. So I have to think that Kenneth Walker, high-end value, especially early in the season. I love the Justin Fields handcuff.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm a sucker for Justin Fields in fantasy. Um, but as someone who carried a lot of Chiefs stock into last season, uh Travis Kelsey's a year older. The magic is because he has the connection with Patrick Mahomes. If he's a little slow on the get-go, I don't love it. I don't love it for some of the skill division guys. Yeah, it's not good.
SPEAKER_02I don't love it. It's it's it's it's bad overall because Justin Fields doesn't produce really good receivers. Um so yeah, it's not good. I think you might be able to get, I would assume their ADPs, like Rasheed Rice's ADP, might drop the more we learn that Mahomes probably won't be their week one. And if that's the case, it's probably good value later on, right?
SPEAKER_01Um they play the Broncos week one, don't they?
SPEAKER_02Oh, a schedule just came out as of like 20 minutes ago. Oh Monday Night Football. Is it Snorfest turning it off? They're gonna beat up the the the Broncos defense is gonna destroy Justin Fields. Wait for Justin Fields to go vintage Justin Fields. It means he's running for a buck fifty and they're winning.
SPEAKER_03Is that like a dream of yours you had once? Adam, what do you think? Man, they're all doomed, they're all gonna die. Panic button, hammer the panic button. Don't draft any of them. None of them stay away except for Kenneth Walker, my boy. Uh that's um no, they'll be okay. I mean, Andy Reid offense, they'll they'll be okay, but ultimately without Mahomes, the receivers take a hit.
SPEAKER_02You temper your expectations, right? Like you are gonna draft Rasheed Rice, you are going to start him week one, most likely, and you just have to be okay with the fact that it probably won't be as good in week two than it is in week nine, right?
SPEAKER_01Yep. So depending on his ADP, if it drops, because you know the news comes out Patrick Mahomes out till week four or something. Like I might actually like Rasheed Rice has a 2.7 ADP right now.
SPEAKER_02He's going right or two to ten.
SPEAKER_01I do not like that.
SPEAKER_02Sam is ahead of George Pickens, AJ Brown, Chris Lave, T H. No, no, no, no, no. Sam, I am not for me.
SPEAKER_01All right. I love Rasheed Rice.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's uh let's keep her moving here. So we're gonna talk about the top five fantasy relevant people on each team of the NFC NFC East. Let's go ahead, we'll start with the Philadelphia Eagles. I would say it's fair to say a bit of a disappointment this past year. Uh we'll start with Jalen Hurts, finishes quarterback nine, he's going as quarterback six in the sixth round. Um Adam, we talked a little last week about whether or not to wait on tight ends. I think this will be the one where we talk about whether or not you want to wait on receivers. So uh he's going right after Jalen Daniels. You mean quarterbacks? Thank you, thank you. Jaden Daniels right before Justin Herbert. You taking him in the sixth?
SPEAKER_03No. Okay. I'm waiting on on Jalen Hurts. I'm I'm not a big Jalen Hurts guy. I haven't been for a while. Um, I think he's, dare I say, into bridge quarterback territory if he has a bad year.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's relax.
SPEAKER_03Uh okay, fine.
SPEAKER_02He's been to the Super Bowl twice.
SPEAKER_03I know really good. Wow. Um, now listen, I I think he's fine. He's got the upside with his legs, whatever, but don't don't even take him in the sixth. I I would wait. If he falls in the eighth or something, great, go ahead. Um, not my cup of tea. Uh, he's just too inconsistent.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that'll present a question that I will ask when we get to the Giants about ADP. But um fantastic. But yeah, I you know, I I don't hate it. Like, would you rather have if because Jaden Daniels is going, I guess we'll talk about that too. Why don't we just talk about all the quarterbacks right now, if that's all right with you guys? Hey, yeah, good pivot. All right, so Jaden Daniels hurt last year, okay. We'll get to the his ADP. He finished as quarterback 34 somehow. Jackson Dart waited a while before he played, a few weeks at least, uh finished as quarterback 14. Okay. Now, here's the ADP. You got Jaden Hurt Jaden Daniels going at 6-1, Jalen Hurts at 6-4, and then Jackson Dart at 8-6. So they're all within four quarterbacks of each other.
SPEAKER_01Is Jackson Dart the next one, or is there someone in between?
SPEAKER_02No, so it goes Jaden Daniels 6-1, Jalen Hurts 6-4, Justin Herbert 8, and then Jackson Dart at 8-6. So all these guys are going right around this time, right? Usually there's the quarterbacks that go early, then there's a break, and then there's the next set of quarterbacks that go in the 8th, 9th, 10th. We always talked about Kirk Cousins was that guy right in that area. And then there's the we'll wait for Patrick Mahomes all the way in the 16th. So, my question to you boys Jaden Daniels, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, Jackson Dart, which one's the one to own? Knowing that Justin Herbert and Jackson Dart go two rounds later than the other two.
SPEAKER_03Um, give me Jackson Dart. Why? I think that he is electric. I'm a big fan. Um, I think that his supporting cast is awesome. And I think that with John Harbaugh running the show, he's gonna have a heck of a year too. Jordan?
SPEAKER_01It's Justin Herbert. That's an easy choice. Is it? Yeah. Okay, well, I mean you might as well talk about it. Why? Well, between Jalen Hurts, you're just banking on Tush push touchdowns. Like, that is his like that raises his floor so much if he's doing tush push touchdowns. It just wasn't happening the same way last year. So we're saying I don't know. I expect a similar year out of Jalen Hurts, assuming no AJ Brown, which we'll probably talk about. Yes. Justin Herbert seems like everything is staying consistent, plus changed offensive coordinator. Hey, they're lost. They lost Keenan Allen unless he shows up at the end of training campaign. Yeah, which he always could, you know, you never know. Um added some new like offensive coordinator stuff, like scheme stuff. So I like that. Like I think there is improvement there. I just Jalen Hurts just seems like it's sideways kind of backwards.
SPEAKER_02I would agree, actually. Yeah, like if I'm gonna take in the six, I'd rather have to take Jaden Daniels. If I'm gonna pick taking a quarterback between him and Hurts, I'm taking Daniels every time. Yeah, the designed runs are there more often. The injury, I don't I'm not too worried about it. Only because it was like he was he got hurt, came back, and he clearly wasn't healthy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then they just run him into the ground, and and then he gets home, and it was kind of yeah, lost season for sure. But Jackson Dart, I like Jackson Dart, but like QB won a top 10 quarterback? Like, he's being drafted like that. Yeah, that's what I was like that's crazy. Like, I mean, he could be awesome, but like well, Malik Neighbors is very athletic, though. Yeah, but Malik Neighbors is getting you know cleaned up surgeries. Is Cam Scattaboo even okay? Like, is he even good to go?
SPEAKER_03He's good to go, man. His foot takes in the right direction.
SPEAKER_01What do I always say? His brain's just scrambled eggs. I mean, like I and and I'm excited for him, and I think he's gonna have like a good career, but like, I mean, top 10 fantasy quarterback is I think he finished his top 10. Yep. Disagree. Disagree. It's second-year quarterback. What are we talking about?
SPEAKER_02Jaden, you so that by that logic, you're saying Jaden Daniels, who finished in the top 10, shouldn't have done that. I guess he didn't, did he?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was gonna say, did he?
SPEAKER_03Hold on.
SPEAKER_02Did he?
SPEAKER_03You know, Bo Nix did a year two.
SPEAKER_01Did he Bo Nix finished as a top 10?
SPEAKER_03He finished QB7 according to Jake's nice notes here. So yeah, he did it. You're right.
SPEAKER_01You're right. So is Jackson Dart Bo Nicks? Is the question.
SPEAKER_02What I think will be really interesting is when we do our rankings, I think this area is gonna look really different than what ADP stands right now. Um, I'm just looking at like guys that go around. I mean, we got we might as well talk about the last one. Dak Prescott.
SPEAKER_01I'd rather have Dak.
SPEAKER_02I'd rather have Dak quarterback six going in the 13th. I love that the most. That's I love that the most. Yeah, and then between them, between Jackson Dart and Dak Prescott, you got Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence. I love Mason T-Law this year. Love me some T- Law.
SPEAKER_01I like to see, I like all those guys more than I like Jalen Hurts and Jaden Daniels? And no, and Jackson Dart. No, I like Jaden Daniels. Jackson Dart and and uh Jalen Hurts.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I think we're kind of just saying here that like we're probably gonna wait.
SPEAKER_01I mean he talked about Matt Stafford somewhere. Give me some Matt Stafford. Rating MVP.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Great. Yeah, he's ahead of O Nicks.
SPEAKER_01Um Bonex, give me before Jackson Dart. Oh, Adam, would you rather have Jackson Dart or Bonex?
SPEAKER_03Bonex, you know that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Bonex, see? So Jackson Dart's not a top 10 for sure.
SPEAKER_03You had to ask the question, um, is he bonex? Nobody's bonex. Come on. Um so so I guess Jake is taking care of something here. Should we move on to running backs? That was kind of we went over over the map with quarterbacks a little bit there. We went to other divisions. We'll get to those guys two later. Um, but I guess like in this division, the the the quarterbacks are fine, you can wait on them. But um, as far as running backs, you know, you have Cam Scadaboot finished running back 39 last year, getting drafted five five five, running back 20. Um, Jake, I took over for you, man. We moved on to running backs. Did you do jump back in? I just moved on to running backs.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay. I'm taking it back. I don't know what he said. Uh we'll talk about Saquon. We're going team by team here. Pay attention.
SPEAKER_01No, we're not.
SPEAKER_02Oh, we're going okay, fine. We can do it this way. No, it's okay.
SPEAKER_01No, hey, bring it back.
SPEAKER_02Bring it back. Bring it back. I'm so sorry, everyone. That must have been terrifying half a second. Uh so Saquon Barkley finishes disappointing running back 14. He's going as a running back seven, two, six. Quickly, I'll just say this. I love it. When you give me a guy who can finish, we've seen him finish as running back one, and you're getting him in the middle to back of the second round. Love the upside there. Love if you're taking a quarterback or Jesus, a receiver early and then turning around and taking Saquon as your running back one. Give me that all day. I think we can all agree with that.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You guys, so you guys just you guys think the Eagles vibe last year was a fluke, everyone improves. That's what you're telling me.
SPEAKER_02I think that it will be better, yeah. I mean, would you rather take Barkley or Genty? Barkley. Because that's the next guy. It's Genty, it's Henry, because and then the guy right next to him is Achan.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'd take A-chan for sure.
SPEAKER_02I would probably take Achan as well. But yeah, he's accurately, his his ADP is accurate right now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just am I'm out on the Eagles. Like that's fine. Let's move on to two more.
SPEAKER_02Two more. Uh Devonta Smith, new wide receiver one. We're gonna assume that AJ Brown is going to New England for this, what we're doing here. Uh currently going as he finishes 21. It's going as wide receiver 18, sixth round. I I think that's very good. That's fine. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think that that's fine for what it is.
SPEAKER_01I know I just trash talk the Eagles, but I do like that ADP.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's a good for wide receiver one on a it's gonna be a fine offense. It's not even if you don't think it's gonna be elite, it's gonna be a good enough, you know. Yeah, right, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um and then last year it was good. I think it's gonna be like it was last year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if he finishes what he's being drafted at, that's that's great.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, which is what he finished at last year, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, and then Mikhail Lemon. Excuse me, sorry. Going as wide receiver 32 in the ninth round, rookie receivers are always really tricky. Um don't take them. Yeah, I mean that's that's tough. I mean, you got Alec Pierce, it's top five running back J.K. Dobbins. He's going ahead of DK Metcalf, Cortland Sutton, and Marvin Harrison. I I would rather have probably all those. Yeah. Um moving on to the commanders. We talked about Jaden Daniels. How about Jakori Krosky Merritt? Bill. Bill finishes running back 32, going as running back 36 right now. I think that's really, really good value in the eighth round.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's not bad. I like it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like it. There's nothing to really say on that. I mean, I think it's appropriately being drafted. He's going ahead of Aaron Jones. Right behind Ramondre. Elite Tony Pollard.
SPEAKER_03Just to throw a curveball at you guys, take uh take Aaron Jones over Krosky Merffair.
SPEAKER_02Even with uh who's the other guy they have there?
SPEAKER_01Rashad White, they brought in.
SPEAKER_02Oh, in Washington?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. You think Rashad White eats into some of those carries, though? He wasn't no.
SPEAKER_02I think Rashad White eats into the passing game. Which I mean, Bill Krosky wasn't really doing that, anyways.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So uh he is, I will say he is going one pick behind top five running back, J.K. Dobbins. So I assume Adam would prefer that one.
SPEAKER_03I love that you keep saying top five. We're manifesting it here.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Uh receivers, Terry McLaurin finishes wide receiver 54. He was hurt last year. Going in the sixth round wide receiver 23. Again, I think that's right in that same spot of Devante Devante Smith where it's like, yeah, that's fine. I think the upside's there. I think his floor is though what wide receiver 23. You know, yeah. We we love uh we love scary Terry on the pot. We do love Terry McLaurin, don't we? He gets no love.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead, Jordan. I feel like I'm I'm in on the commanders. I'm the reverse what I just said about the Eagles. Like, I think the commanders this year are gonna overperform what they did last year. Well, yeah. And I think the Eagles are not gonna overperform what they did last year. I think they're gonna hit the same or underperform. So I'm high on like Terry McLaurin and the pass catchers there. Because again, it's just Jane Dales being back. It's more exciting than correct. Yeah. Um do they have a certain backup? Is it still Marcus Mariota? Just in case. Yes. Injury prone. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And Notre Dame legend Sam Adam. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. So at wide receiver two, we can talk about this for a minute. Right now it's Traylon Burks, legend. Uh currently going undrafted. Um, do you think Brandon Ayuk is there is there by the start of the year? That's been the huge rumor that he's going to Washington. He reunited reunites with his college teammate Jaden Daniels. They've talked about it. They're just waiting because San Francisco hates him.
SPEAKER_03Whenever Ayuk stops driving around like a maniac, uh wherever the heck he is in the country right now, no one knows. Um yeah, he'll find his way to Washington.
SPEAKER_02They write poems about it. There's just whispers in the wind. Oh, good. I think that'll be really good if he goes there. I don't think Traylon Burks is really worth owning, though. No.
SPEAKER_01I like Luke McCaffrey more than I like Traylon Burks in Washington.
SPEAKER_02That's just all kind of icky. And then uh you always like saying his name, Jordan. What is the the new tight end? The new tight end for Washington, going as tight end 20 in the 19th round from the from Tennessee, Chig Aconqua. I can never say it.
SPEAKER_01I didn't realize he ended up on the commanders. Where was I?
SPEAKER_02Zach Hertz technically is not on the team right now. You're hibernating. You're hibernating. Again, fine. I mean, those really late tight ends. It's like sure. That's right.
SPEAKER_03We skipped Dallas Goddard.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, we did.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna own Dallas Goddard in every league, by the way. Oh, yeah, tell us why. He's going at tight end 13, and he finishes tight end four. He's going around higher than Chig. He's going in the 18th. That's like when I'm taking kickers. That is when I that's when I'm taking my tight end one. Love me some Dallas Goddard.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, trivia for you. So Dallas Goddard took over for Zach Ertz in Philly. Who did Zach Ertz take over for in Philly? That was a legend.
SPEAKER_02Brendan Brent Sellick.
SPEAKER_03Brent Selleck, my man.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Alright, moving on to the Giants. So keep her moving here. We talked about Jackson Dark. I think Adam attempted to talk about Cam Scadaboo. I did either. Give me finished as running back 39, got hurt, played late. Going as running back 20, so a back end running back two in the fifth round. Tell the people why you like Cam Scadaboo and his over-easy brain.
SPEAKER_03I love his motor when he gets the football. Like it takes three guys to tackle him. Are you worried he's going to get hurt though? Absolutely. However, for a redraft league, um, I am picking him at that spot and possibly earlier just for the volumes in the red zone and volume of carries in the red zone. Uh, and plus they do some some redoption stuff with Jackson Dart. I just think he's fun to watch, and I think he's gonna have high value of touchdowns. Um, I think he bounces back if his feet can stay the right direction.
SPEAKER_02So do you do you feel better about him being your running back three on your team?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like a flex spotter. Yeah, I mean he's he's he's running back two is fine too.
SPEAKER_02Um but you can you could so you could you could go, you'd be alright going like three receivers, two running backs in the first five rounds, and can be in your running back two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I I I like him a lot. I I think he's gonna bounce back here.
SPEAKER_01Jordan. I'm looking at the ADPs right now. Guys going around him, Brees Hall, Bucky Irving, Trivion Henderson, Quinchon Junkins, David Montgomery. I think I'd want all of them over James Gadaboo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. That's wrong. I I I want Bucky, I want Brees for sure. Adam almost did a spit test. Henderson makes me nervous because I think there's Ramontre still is going to have a part of that or part of that backfield. Judkins is good. I probably wouldn't take him over Montgomery, but or take Montgomery over him. But yeah, I I'm worried about his head, man. I keep saying it, but I just it's not sustainable.
SPEAKER_03He's the right kind of crazy though.
SPEAKER_02It's true. He really is.
SPEAKER_01You know, you're right. If if it's a a redraft like Adam said, this is the this is the year to be in on Camus Gadeboo. Because don't do it in a dynasty. This is the year to do it because the chances of an injury are high, and that just keeps compounding every year. So I think uh yeah, this is this is the if you're gonna do it, now's the time.
SPEAKER_02Um we talked about Malik Neighbors for a second, but he was hurt all last year. Looks like he probably, in my opinion, he won't start week one. Um going at the 2-4, I would imagine that will fall, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um especially if he's ball wait.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, I mean, this is a good example though, of if you man, if he can drop to the back end of the second, if he slips to the third, love that, right? I want him, I want him everywhere at the if at the three. Just a little nervous about taking a guy in the second round that might not start week one, right?
SPEAKER_01Giants remain hopeful, yeah. He'll be ready for week one.
SPEAKER_02The issue is that like if he's going to miss time, you just have to plan for that, right? Really plan, you know, getting Cortland Sutton later is great, right? You might just want to go a little bit more wide receiver heavy. Um, if for some reason he's not gonna play. If he plays, when he plays, he's amazing. I think we can all agree on that. Yep. Uh uh, Darius Slayton, currently the wide receiver two there, uh undrafted, he just won't go away. And the Giants hate him. They like they hate him, but like they're like, all right, you can stay, but we're not gonna like here's here's some money, but like let's relax. I think it's like you know how when a player leaves a team and they go to a new team and they to talk all about their old team, like the X's and O's, they just don't want them talking, they don't want Darius Slayton talking about the Giants. So they're like, here's some money, you can stay for a little bit. Conspiracy theory. Uh don't draft him. Uh tight end, Isaiah Likely coming over from the Ravens. Uh currently tight end 15 going in the 18th round. Sure. Like another, it's just one of those fires, right?
SPEAKER_01I like all the tight ends so far in this division. Like, I'm probably gonna get it's gonna get better. I like all of them. I know I'm looking at the Cowboys that I'll take any of these guys and I will my tight end for all year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, um moving on to the last one, we got Cowboys, Dak Prescott. I have talked about Dak Prescott on this podcast so much, it is my opinion, you've heard it a million times, that he is only hated because he has a star on his helmet. Going in the 13th round, finishing as quarterback six, he has the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. Besides the Green Bay Packers, of course. Of course, yes. And going in the 13th round, I want that every single time. Um I think quarterback a top five finish is well within reason. So I love that ADP. Give me him every time. My only issue is that I just you know, I think other people also know that, so I don't think he'll last.
SPEAKER_01Anyone agreed. Thank you. All right, Adam and I are looking at each other.
SPEAKER_03Um don't agree. Don't agree. Hate him definitely because of the star and development. Okay, wonderful.
SPEAKER_02Adam, talk about Javante Williams. He finishes running back 11, going as running back 15 in the third round.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a good ADP for him. And I I have a soft spot in my heart because I thought he was gonna be so good for Denver, and I've talked about that before. And he's he's good. He's got that burst back in Dallas, and uh, you know, I just always wonder after a knee surgery that for running backs, no matter what age, do they sustain the success? Uh, if you're getting him in the third or late third, like he's projected. Um, it's good, it's a good ADP for him, and he could be a top 10 running back. Who knows?
SPEAKER_02Well, he finishes running back 11, so he absolutely could. I think this is one of those guys that you play and you play him every week, and it's fine. The ceiling's not there. Yeah, he's just a running back two, he's just a running back two, a middle one at that, who will give you good weeks every week, and he's just fine.
SPEAKER_03He'll he'll average probably like 13 points a game.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, looking here, you got guys around him, Jeremiah Love, probably a higher ceiling, Kieran Williams, higher ceiling, Brees Hall, higher ceiling. Like they're gonna give you these games that are just massive, and you typically are not gonna get that out of Javante. You're just gonna get a basic, which is fine, you know. Yeah, I just don't, you know, if you're going wide receiver, wide receiver, do you really want Javante being your running back one? I'm not excited about that.
SPEAKER_01As someone who had a team of CD Lamb and Malik neighbors last year, and then I took Javante Williams as my running back one. It worked out.
SPEAKER_02You can't take him as your running back one. You just lucked out and got him in like the ninth.
SPEAKER_01Indeed.
SPEAKER_02Indeed.
SPEAKER_01And uh oh, and my other running back was uh Bucky Irving, who did not play basically the entire episode. So yeah, that's right. And it was Malik Neighbors, too, who also was hurt. So it was not a good year for me. We don't care about your soapbox, not a good year for me, but I love Javante Williams. That's more on my story, is he he was the he was a shining light in my otherwise very, very dark year last year at Batis football.
SPEAKER_03Very scary, yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it I think we've said what we need to say. Uh CD Lamb going his wide receiver five at the 1-8. I mean, he's been doing it for a while. I assume we all think he'll continue.
SPEAKER_03He's proved me wrong every year. I used to be a hater, and I'm a lover.
SPEAKER_01Here's my issue with the Cowboys receivers. CeeDee Lamb's volume has been so high for so long. So he's always been a great pick. George Pickens came onto the scene and actually outperformed him last year, but it was because CD like missed some time.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_01So now if CD's healthy the whole year, like does CD take that back from George Pickens, or does George Pickens continue to eat at CD's production? Like you can't have he takes it back. You can't have two wide receiver ones on a team.
SPEAKER_02When CD impossible when CeeDee Lamb came back, George Pickens' production went down. So I would assume that's what's going to be. Yeah. But I think it's it's worth saying that you will get those games where George Pickens will spike and will outperform CeeDee Lamb. So you like it will happen. So it's not going to be this consistent, like, I'm on Raz going to pick before him, and you know you're going to get the best out of him every single time. Jameis, it's unlikely that Jamison Williams is just going to be like, I'm four or five games, I'm the wide receiver one. It's like, no, right? I think four or five games, George Pickens could be the wide receiver one.
SPEAKER_01But just I just find it really unlikely that they're gonna end we're gonna end the year with the Cowboys having wide receiver five and wide receiver eleven. It's unlikely. That just seems very unlikely as a scenario. Well which one am I which one am I but which one am I buying? Which one am I selling? I'm selling pickens. I am also selling pickens, yeah. Okay. If you're buying pickens, I feel like in the third, I like that better.
SPEAKER_03Pickens is a head case, though. He's not a locker room guy.
SPEAKER_02I'd I would rather don't do that. That doesn't matter in fantasy. I would much rather have Brock Bowers a pick after George Pickens. Like I'd rather take a tight end there.
SPEAKER_01What? Who are you? You'd rather take a third round tight end over George Pickens if I was stuck?
SPEAKER_02Yes, absolutely. There's a big gap too. So it goes like it goes like Rasheed Rice in terms of receivers. It's like Rasheed Rice at the two, George Pickens at 3-3, and then the next one's AJ Brown at 3-6. That'll probably change, right? But then there's like the next one's like there's a tier drop-off, right? After Pickens. It's Chris Olave, it's T. Higgins, it's Tet. I mean, I there's a considerable drop-off. I think I would just stay away from Pickens for me. I don't I don't have him in my top 15 or wide receiver.
SPEAKER_03Who are you? Top 15.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I don't have him in the off the top of your head. Alright, I'll give him to you. Ready? Count him. Here we go. Ready? Come on. Get your fingers up. I'm ready. Yeah. Alright, we got Jamar, Puka, Amon Ra, Jackson Smith the Jigba, CeeDee Lamb, Drake London, Justin Jefferson, Nico. Then I would go Malik Neighbors, I'd go Rasheed Rice, I'd go Olave, I'd go Tet, I'd go Brown, I'd go Higgins, and I'd probably go Emeka.
SPEAKER_03You don't have Jalen Waddle over some of those cats. Come on, we're moving. No, I know. Please.
SPEAKER_02But then I would have Pickens probably a pick or two after that.
SPEAKER_01Rasheed Rice is wide receiver 10?
SPEAKER_02Yes, absolutely. He's currently being drafted as wide receiver 10.
SPEAKER_03Risky Rice.
SPEAKER_02Yes, Rash D. Rice over Jalen Waddle. Top five wide receiver Jalen Waddle. All right, and then let's just finish off Jake Ferguson going as tight finish tight end eight, being drafted as tight end 14. Love it, love it, love it. Alright, there we have the NFC East. Next week we'll do the NFC South. A booming division. A booming division, yes.
SPEAKER_01On the up and up.
SPEAKER_02Jordan, thank you for joining us. It's always a pleasure. Absolute delight. So you'll be back next week, right? Obviously. Don't do that. Don't tell the people that.
SPEAKER_03Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Maybe.
SPEAKER_03What a birthday present, man. What a birthday.
SPEAKER_02Adam, happy birthday. All for Adam. Thank you. Happy birthday. Hope 32 looks good on you. 33, but 33. 33, because 32 looked great on you. So oh boy. Unless either of you have anything you want to say.
SPEAKER_03Go Broncos. Go twins. Go Irish and go Lakeland Thunderbirds.
SPEAKER_01Go T Birds.
SPEAKER_03Go T Birds. All right. Take care.
