Um, all right. I don't have a game for us or anything like that. Uh the World Cup is on. That's going on right now. Uh Adam, do you uh care about soccer?

Um, bit of a loaded question. No, I don't. Um, I don't care about soccer except for the World Cup. It is fun. Our friend Daniel, uh friend of the podcast, said uh it's a lot like March Madness with the World Cup, and I agree with him a little bit. I'm getting more invested for this, but I'll turn on a game for the World Cup and it'll be off in like 10 minutes because I want to do something else like anything else. So we uh you know it is what it is.

We um in the home league decided to tie our draft order to the World Cup this year. So sure did that is an exciting thing, makes us care to watch it. I got the best team, Spain, and then they just pooped the bed.

So allegedly I have two good teams. I have no idea.

Allegedly. Um all right, so today we'll we don't got much NFL news. Uh, other than Rasheed Rice is out of jail, so that's cool. Good for him, good for him. Don't I mean I guess that's fine. You know, it's like I don't I got nothing for you. It's just like cool. Get your life right now. Let's go. Yeah, get your life right. Um, we're in a lull in regards to news. It'll probably pick up in July here with uh training camp starting, mandatory reporting, all that stuff. So, what we're gonna do today, we've just finished all the NFC uh breakdowns. We're gonna go ahead and move to the AFC breakdowns next week, hopefully with my friend Jordan Adam, because you will not be here. I will be at a conference, so yes. The coaching never stops, kids. So that's one's for teaching, but anyway, yes. Isn't teaching just coaching? Isn't coaching just teaching? Yes, of course.

Um, so what we're gonna do today is we are going to do a mock draft, our first big mock draft of the season. Um, let me give you kind of the download. Uh Adam's gonna be picking from the one spot, I will be picking from the three spot. We will kind of talk it out as it happens. We're gonna go about 12 rounds. Uh one quarterback, two wide receivers, two running backs, a tight end flex, and a kicker in defense, but we won't get to that part. Um just look in, and it's just the half-point PPR. So, Adam, you're gonna be up with the first pick. Who first pick are you going with?

Man, right here, I am sitting at the first overall pick. I am between uh Jameer Gibbs, obviously, and B. John Robinson. Two studs you can take. Um, but I'm gonna lean Gibbs because Gibbs is I think the most dynamic player in the NFL.

All right, uh Bijan goes next. I'm gonna pick three. Uh this half point PPR league. So I'm kinda you know, kinda looking at one of these receivers. Is it Jamar Chase? Is it Puka? Is it J JSN or JSN? You've talked about like in JSN. I'm gonna go with Jim uh Jamar Chase. I just think he's the more for sure thing. Of the three guys, though, of those three, which one do you think has the best opportunity to finish highest, should I say?

JSN. I I've just been big on him. I think he's just gonna be an elite guy for years to come. And these picks are going hot, Jake.

Oh, yeah. So we got McCaffrey, Puka, Jonathan Taylor. Um so JSN goes third in that. I don't have a pro do you care if that's how it goes down?

SPEAKER_00

Like, do you mean that like I truly don't? I I think at the end of the day, like we talked about a few weeks ago, though those three are kind of interchangeable. You're not gonna get hurt by picking any of them. So um, I I don't think it's really an issue with who you go with with those three guys.

Uh on he so right here we got oh man, we're flying. So we got uh Amon Ra. What are your opinions on Amon Ra this season? Do you have him above Justin Jefferson?

SPEAKER_00

No, I have Justin Jets, um Jay Jetta's uh ahead of him. Um, but again, who's the quarterback of Minnesota? I think it's gonna be Kyler Murray easily. Um, but who knows how the chemistry is with Justin Jets, but I think he'll be back.

Yeah. Um we are doing this draft on Yahoo with some random people. So stick with us in regards to how quick things come down. So I am up in a few picks. I'll just tell you what I'm hoping for. Um I really like Saquon Barkley this year and as he goes. Um, so he's gone. Um, I think Saquon bounces back. They're gonna have to run the ball, they're just gonna have to more without um without uh AJ Brown. Um all right, so I'm about to be up in a pick here. I'm looking at under the gun, we got Drake London, Nick Collins. Do I want to go Brock Bowers? So Derek Henry goes. So the running backs are going quite fast, I would say. Um running backs, I'm looking at Kenneth Walker, and then I'm reaching for who, Josh Jacobs or something like that. I'm gonna go with the best available receiver again, and I think that's Drake London. I know you're not a huge Drake London guy.

No, and I think it's good, and I'm up now. Um back to back, back to back picks. Back to back. I was gonna go running back, and I still might go for Kenneth Walker. I feel like that's a reach. Um, I got back-to-back picks here, so I could do both, I suppose. Um like a receiver and a running back. Um, I'm just gonna go ahead and take Kenneth Walker here to stack some running backs. That's right. Yeah, Kenneth Walker. I like stacking. Um, that's my my personal go. How much how much time do I have? I can't see my clock. 23 seconds. 23 seconds. And then I'm gonna throw a curveball here. Not really, actually. I'm gonna go George Pickens. He's the best wide receiver available. I don't have a wide receiver, and I think he's just as gonna be productive um for the Cowboys there.

Yeah, I don't I don't hate that. Uh Brock Bowers goes. So here I'm looking at uh top of the board, Trey McBride, Josh Allen, uh uh Jeremiah Love. I'm going to try something a little different here. And I am going to go with Malik Neighbors here. Now, unlikely to start. So we have a while we have a moment here, unlikely to start week one, right? But come playoff time. A for me, it's I went three receivers. So I went Jamar Chase, Drake London, and Malik Neighbors. That's Malik Neighbors in the flex is solid.

Now, I'm curious to see what that's gonna mean for me in regards to uh running backs as we continue to. Because I am a little worried in that. Um, and then Adam, what are you looking at like right now?

You know, I I would like to stack another wide receiver if there's a good one available, but if I don't think Trey McBride will be there, um I would love him.

Um there goes Jeremiah Love. You're looking at Pickens, Gibbs, and Walker right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, and and so I mean if Alave's there, which I don't think he will be either, um, you know, I'd pick him, but best receiver available, Rasheed Rice is there, you know, he's out of jail. I'd love that.

Um uh but we're moving into the third round now, which is about uh 10 team. I don't think I mentioned that, but we're moving into the third round here. So we're almost a full round, one more pick here, where Trey McBride has not been taken. Um would you consider taking a tight end?

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. If he's there point, you know, and honestly, if Warren is there, um I don't love the receivers that I'm seeing on the board right now for best of the uh we've got Olave, we've got Rice, we've got McMillan, who I'm not a fan of. You don't like Tet? Not a big fan, nope. Um, because of Bryce Young. Uh not a big Bryce Young guy, not a believer. You know, Lamar Jackson's interesting. Could I go quarterback there? I love stacking receiver picks and running back picks. However, um not really feasible here. I like doing that bet better when I'm like pick 10, you know, because then I get the wraparound right away.

I think there's a drop-off here where you know one quarterback, two quarterbacks have gone, right? Two quarterbacks have or just the one. Josh Allen's the only one that's gone.

Um, so who wants to take the second one, right? Like who wants to be that guy?

Because then there's gonna be a waterfall effect.

Yep. And you know, I'm I'm I'm I I I would consider it here.

I I will actually, because then I can take her as best available receiver. The nice thing is I'll have the the the pick on the wraparound. There goes Trey McBride.

Yep. Uh so I'm I'm a few picks away. Uh I got the three receivers, which I think I'm pretty sad at right now.

Guys, I just told Jake my whole strategy, and now he's gonna ruin it for me here. Never tell your friends what you're gonna do.

Never tell your friends. That's hilarious. Uh I am yeah, I'm in a weird in-between. I usually like to wait on quarterback as well, but the running backs just aren't pretty right now. A lot of receivers right now in this fourth, fifth round, this is the spot where you want to maybe stack receivers.

Okay, the guy ahead of me goes Zay Flowers over Olave, Tet, Garrett Wilson, and Jalen Waddell, which is interesting.

Um I kind of know what I'm gonna do here if I if it goes how I think it's gonna go.

I think I think I'm gonna go ahead and draft as if I didn't know what Adam was doing. And I'm gonna go with uh A Chan Jr., Travis A Chan Jr. as my running back one, which low-end running back one, I think. Um I don't hate it though. Uh Chris Olave goes, now Adam, you're up twice here. What are you thinking?

Yep, just what I was gonna do if this happened. Uh Lamar Jackson and Garrett Wilson, I think Garrett Wilson's gonna be fine this year. Uh with Gino, I think they'll have decent chemistry, honestly, and that's weird because I I don't like Gino Smith, but I do think Garrett Wilson is still a very good receiver. I think that he can be effective in this league. They've got to start using him better. So this would be like a pick where you're like, I'm not crazy about it, I don't love it. But I'm betting on his upside. You know, I'm betting on his upside there to pair with George Pickens, and then Lamar Jackson is just a safe bet, and hopefully start a run on quarterbacks here because that was uh that was evil of me.

Yeah, I mean you pushed it for me. I went ahead and took Joe Burrow with my next pick. To have the Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase stack is pretty elite.

The issue that at running back, I'm looking at I was looking at Bucky, which not a fan of this year, and then Cam Scataboo was next. And I just yeah, I think the safest in this in this area, you know, of him Scatabo, Trevion Henderson, DeAndre Swift might actually be DeAndre Swift. Because he uh but listen, he has been a 10-point running back for years.

Yeah. Um is there a guy that you dislike above any everyone? Like, is there one guy you're completely staying away from? We'll talk about that more later on in this the every every year. For me, no, just this year. For me, it's Bucky. I want nothing to do with Bucky Irving. Bringing in Kenneth Kenneth Gainwell, who had a hundred targets last year, is gonna immediately take away the third down stuff. Um plus, I mean, he's coming off a pretty major injury. We're in the fifth, we're in the sixth round. He has an ADP of 46 though, and he's still there.

You know, I used to feel that way about Kyle Pitts. Um, still kind of he's on my crap list because I'm like, you know, I I just don't know every year, you know. Honestly, McCaffrey. I I just I I I love the guy. I just said I never pick him, and I I would not pick him this year just because of the history.

Adam, you're up. No, I'm up. Shoot. I went ahead and went with uh Quinshawn Judkins. You pick make your pick so then we can talk about it. Uh I went Quinshawn Judkins over Bucky. I wasn't a fan of I I just don't like I mentioned, I don't like Bucky.

Um how much time do I get? Seven seconds. Holy crap. Okay, we're gonna panic mode pick Tyler Kraft. Oh, I like that. Or Tucker Kraft because um I I just think he's gonna be solid when he comes back from injury, and then we are gonna take the best available receiver still, or sorry, running backs still, which in my opinion, he's gonna have resurgence. My boy Chuba Hubbard. Oh, boo. My boy Chuba Hubbard. If he's the starter there, I suppose.

I don't hate that. Um, so I am up. I'm looking, you know, I got two running backs, three receivers. Like, what do I want to do here? Looking at Rome, looking at Mike Evans, Bechall Tutin. I think it's easy for me though. I'm gonna go Traveyon Henderson.

Ooh, and see, that's the guy that I picked Hubbard over because I'm not a big Henderson guy.

I I think we just might disagree on this one because like I think Jonathan Brooks, as long as he's healthy, will have a role in D. I think with both those guys, like I just I think for me, I think that Jonathan Brooks can take things away from Chuba Hubbard, just like Rico Dowell did last year, versus I'd rather have Trevion Henderson who I want to take away things from a Ramondre Stevens.

Yeah. If that makes sense, I think they're very similar, right? But then after those running backs, folks, it got kind of hairy.

So we uh if I didn't pick Hubbard, I was gonna take Henderson, you know, and you were gonna take Hubbard.

Correct. Like the available running backs here, uh Beshall Tutin, RJ Harvey, remote Ramondre, Pollard, Manungai Corum, Dobbins.

Like it gets pretty NFL news for you, Harvey fans out there. I like him for fantasy perspective because of the receiving game, but Jonah Coleman has been raising eyebrows, uh, according to Sports Illustrated and Denver's media. Um, he's he's as good as advertised as far as like becoming a complete player and a plug and play guy in the NFL. Yeah, okay. I'm just saying Harvey and he Harvey had a shoulder injury and a surgery over the offseason that no one knew about until like a week ago. So just for all you guys out there thinking about Harvey, be careful.

I don't want I I'm not a big Harvey guy, that's for sure. Yeah, I just you I know that's my thought.

So I have Lamar Jackson at quarterback, George Pickens receiver, Garrett Wilson the receiver, Jeremiah Gibbs at running back, Walker at running back, Tuckercraft at tight end, and Chuba Hubbard in the flex.

And I'm at Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Drake London, Travis A. Chan, Jr., Quinshawn Judkins, Malik Neighbors in the flex, and then Travion Henderson.

Um, I would agree. I would agree. I think the teams are turning out okay. For me, I'd like I'm looking at another receiver, I think, with no uh with no Malik neighbors probably starting. I'm looking at all the rookies. Cardinal Tate just went. I got Tyson, and I'm looking at him.

I will know. I I don't think it's ever too early. I'm gonna take Tyson just for the upside. Um it's not too early. The issue is that we both took high, or at least I took Joe Burrow. I'm gonna play him every week.

I think Harold Fannon, I think it, you know, it's it's Kyle Pitts is still there. He sure is. It's it's Bowers, it's yeah, it's Bowers, it's a McBride, it's Warren, it's Colton Lovelin, and I think it's Fannon, and then from there it drops. And you might want to put Kyle Pitts in that, he just goes with the next pick. Just not for me. What can I say? It's just not for me.

I I would not have taken um would not have taken Wilson. I panicked there when you said seven seconds. I I would have taken Sutton over him just because he's a touchdown target um in the red zone and such.

There was, I panicked real hard. Um, you know, when when do we think about kicker here towards the NJ? When do you think about kicker? I I always wonder when people start thinking about uh last last it's the last two routes.

I'm actually a big proponent of not take like if you're not taking Brandon Aubrey, I think you should just not take one. Especially like it depends if you're drafting in July or August with weeks to go, right? Yeah, take someone that you might want to keep on your roster. You can always drop drop someone for a kicker later on or a defense later on. So yeah, I no, I I'm all I'm a big fan of not taking either of them actually until and then just streaming them. Um but if it's Brandon Aubur, you should take them.

I got four four wide receivers, only three running backs, so I guess I'm probably looking that way. You know, it's my turn. I'm looking at Manungay, Bill Krosky. Uh, I think it's easy for me though. Gotta go JK Dobbins.

Um my plan here when I'm late round, late pick anyway. Um, if I'm like eight through ten, I still like to stack like on the wraparound. So if I pick a running back, I'll be looking for a running back again. Um I'll be looking at a running back again. Um, if I pick a receiver, same thing. So what's funny, I told my little sister to do that in her draft, and she went rogue and picked Josh Allen with like the frickin' ninth pick or something, and then she panicked and went way off the the whole thing. In a redraft, I just like stacking like that because I think it gives you more possibilities to score points, but that's just me.

I agree. Uh, top four go Gibbs, Robinson, Chase, and Puka, which leaves for me the easy decision of taking your boy JSN at wide receiver. Um, I just don't think I can you could you could go McCaffrey, you could go Jonathan Taylor. Um, but I think JSN's just kind of those are the top five, right?

And I think it's an easy one. I want to do something a little different than the one we just did, so I probably will not go receiver again. Nice. But um, we'll kind of see how the board drops. Um, Adam will be up here in a second. You're looking at McCaffrey, Lamb, St. Brown, Cook. What do you feel? What are you hoping?

You know, James Cook broke my heart last year because he really went off the rails a little bit towards the end of the season. Um, I'm gonna go CeeDee Lamb here. I was thinking about McCaffrey, but not really. Um, gonna get Lamb and then look for another receiver because Lamb's a lock to be a stud again.

So does picking scare you at all?

Yes, uh, just because I can't trust the Cowboys never will. You know, speaking of things I stay away from, I just I see the Cowboy star and I'm like, ugh brother. Someone wears a hat in public. I'm like, why? What are you doing?

Why would you do that? Do you do you not have I hope you don't have children? Uh because they don't respect you.

Uh Bowers goes pick 11. So he goes first pick in the second round. Um, I don't hate it. Don't hate it. Are you going to go receiver again? Or are you going to pick between Cook and Genty and Barkley and Chris and uh Brown?

I know, and see that's the thing is uh the top tier running backs are gonna disappear quick, so I am going to go off of script. Like I I'm gonna have to go cook here, folks. I I just think it's too tempting, too low-hanging fruit, so to speak. Um, totally went against my plan, but now I've got some possibilities later.

Well, that's uh Barkley goes and then Omarion Hampton goes. Uh, I mean that's part of it. You you know you have a plan of oh, I'm gonna go receiver receiver, it's gonna be great. And then it doesn't fall that way.

So you have to But if there's a run on running backs like there just was, you kind of are forced to get on get on the train or get the heck out of there, you know.

Correct. I'm going to do not stack here. I'm gonna go Ashton Genty. I like Ashton Genty this year. I think last year he was overdrafted. Everyone gets excited about the rookie running back. Uh Adam, of course, hates him because he's in the same division as the Broncos.

No, no, you you miss you misunderstand. I hate the Raiders with a burning passion. It's like Packer fans and Bears. I I just hate the Raiders.

Okay. I think he really bounces back. And then with the next pick, I want my next pick here. I want Derrick Henry. So Ash and Gentine, Derrick Henry are running back.
