In episode 3 of "Spotlight on the Violence Against Women and Girls Sector," Lucy Hayton discusses the complexities of supporting migrant and minoritised women with Angie Herrera from Latin American Women Aid. LAWA is the only organisation that offers refuges in Europe and in the UK “by and for” Latin American women and children fleeing gender-based violence. Angie and Lucy discuss the barriers facing migrant women, LAWA's precedent-setting court case and protecting women and children in refuge from court-ordered contact with an abuser.
