Chapter 9 – The Cross as a Severing Power
In Chapter 9 of All Things New by Jessie Penn-Lewis, titled “The Cross as a Severing Power,” we are invited to see how the Cross separates us from the old life and brings us more fully into life in Christ.
Jessie helps us understand that the Cross does not leave us bound to the patterns, desires, and powers of the old creation. Through Christ, we are severed from the rule of the flesh and called to walk in the freedom of the Spirit. The Cross continues its deep work in us, cutting away what belongs to the old life so that the life of Jesus may be revealed.
