Chapter 14 – The Story of a Grain of Wheat
In Chapter 14 of All Things New by Jessie Penn-Lewis, titled “The Story of a Grain of Wheat,” we are invited to see the spiritual meaning Jesus gave to the grain of wheat that falls into the ground and dies.
Jessie points us to the simple but powerful truth that fruitfulness comes through death to self and union with Christ. The grain must be hidden, buried, and broken before it can bring forth life. In the same way, the believer’s life becomes fruitful as it is yielded to the deep working of the Cross.
