Does the Science of Reading reject the importance of picture books for children learning to read? According to educator and author Nancy Bailey, “It’s hard to find Science of Reading
enthusiasts emphasizing the importance of picture books. Picture books no longer appear to be a priority in early classes.” Lindsay Kemeny, a first-grade SoR teacher and proponent of evidence-based practices, strongly disagrees with statements made in this blog.
