In 2016 Mathilde Jakobsen founded Freshland, the disruptor of the fruit and vegetable value chain that allows consumers to order fruit that still hangs on the tree, directly from farmers.

During the pandemic, the organization experienced hypergrowth, and Mathilde and the team found themselves trying to cope with demand. The company went from a handful of employees to over 50.
