Speaker 1:

Hey y'all, welcome to Triumph Over Trauma, the podcast. Listen y'all. I created this podcast because, like so many other people, I've had a traumatic past. I didn't always realize how those things affected me negatively and how I even carried them into my adult life, and so I wanted to create a space where other people could come and we could have candid conversations on how you identify trauma, how you navigate it and how you recover from traumatic experiences. If this resonates with you, then join me. I am your host and trauma survivor, ms Eve McNair. Let's get into it. Hey guys, welcome back to Triumph Over Trauma. Listen.

Speaker 1:

This week's episode is actually being brought to you by one of my daily devotion lives on TikTok. Every Monday, wednesday and Friday, I go live on TikTok and I share the word of God with people to encourage them where they are in their journeys, especially healing journey. As you all know, I am a trauma and mental health advocate. This day's topic was the topic of purpose identifying your purpose, coming to the realization that you do have purpose and that you are here because of God's purpose for your life. So take a listen to this episode, which again is being brought to you by the live that I shared on TikTok last week. I pray that it encourages you, strengthens you in the pursuit and knowledge of what God has planned for your life. Be blessed and know that you have a purpose. I come to tell you this morning it's on purpose, that is your purpose. You were created with a purpose, for a purpose and on purpose. It's on purpose this morning. So many times we get a little bit confused, we get a little bit distracted, a little bit turd, we don't know what our purpose is. But I'm here to tell you this morning that it's on purpose. There's a reason why you were created, like I said, with purpose, by purpose and on purpose. God has created you. We're going to go over that this morning so that you go into your weekend knowing listen, you were created with the purpose and it's time for us to walk in our purpose. But before we can walk in it, we got to identify it Like what am I here to do? What am I created for? Why am I here and what do I do with the purpose or the gifts, the calling that God has put on my life? It's on purpose. This morning, don't let anybody talk you out of your purpose, don't let anybody tell you you're not here for a reason? Oh, you just hear you just, you know it's just random. God is intentional. There is no coincidence, no happenstance. Even you being on this channel this morning is intentional. It's because God wants to get something to you so he can get something through you. You were created on purpose.

Speaker 1:

The enemy would love nothing more than to distract us and to make us feel like I had no purpose. You know, one of the number one causes of depression is because people feel like there's no purpose. One of the number one causes of suicidal ideation is because people feel like there's no reason for me to be here. Hey, pd, good morning. There's no reason for me to be here. What is my purpose?

Speaker 1:

And sometimes we spend our life doing everything else that everybody else wants us to do. We spend our lives with identity crisis and the wrong relationships and in the wrong careers because we don't understand our purpose. But God wants to explain our purpose. He wants to reveal it to us. God wants to reveal our purposes to us this morning, but first we have to understand. I have a purpose, I have a purpose and I was created on purpose. Now you might be in a season in your life where you're asking God what is my purpose? What do I do? Why am I here? Why have you created me, even why have you kept me? But I'm here to tell you this morning that you were created on purpose.

Speaker 1:

We're going to go over some scriptures this morning so that we fully understand, so that we can begin to seek God for our purposes, so that they are revealed for our lives and in our lives. Glory to God, hallelujah, let's pray real quick before we get started. Father, thank you. Thank you this morning for waking us all up. You saw fit to allow us to see another day. We thank you for waking us up this morning, for starting us on our way. We thank you for our right mind this morning, for our mind to seek you, for a mind to preach you, to worship you and to understand you.

Speaker 1:

Father, in the name of Jesus, god, prepare our hearts and minds, our souls and our spirit for your world this morning, as we take part in your word. Father. God, we know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and, god, so we've come to dine with you, to eat from your word this morning, to eat from your bounty. Strengthen us, let this word be nourishment to our spirit, to our bodies, to our minds, to our souls, god, that we may walk on purpose and in purpose. In the name of Jesus, father, first and foremost God, before we go any further, we want to repent from anything we've said, done, thought or did that. This, please you, or grieved your spirit. Father, in the name of Jesus, god, you're sending your word. If we confess our sins, you are just and faithful to forgive us. Please cleanse us, wash us from all unrighteousness. Father, god, in the name of Jesus, help us to know that once we've confessed our sins and you have forgiven us, they are removed as far as from the east to the west, and there is no condemnation, no guilt to those who walk in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, we do. Amen and amen. Glory to God, hallelujah, good morning everybody. Welcome to your morning devotion this morning.

Speaker 1:

Listen. Today's topic is it is on purpose. The reason why you're here is on purpose. The reason why you're alive is on purpose. Your gifts, the callings, everything that God has enabled you and then dwelled within you is on purpose. Not only on purpose, but it's for a purpose, and sometimes we don't understand that. Like I said, sometimes we spend time, we waste time in the wrong decisions, in the wrong relationships, in the wrong careers, doing things that other people said that we should do because we have not identified our purpose. But God wants to do that for us this morning. He wants to help us to identify our purpose. For me to God your purpose. Almost always, your gifts are almost always included in your purpose. They're like a precursor. The things that you've been gifted to do are a precursor to your purpose. But also the pain that you have endured, the things that you have gone through, the things that you've suffered, the things that you you know, some of the things that you haven't even told anybody has to do with your purpose, and we're going to prove it this morning.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to the first scripture. We're in Jeremiah 1 and 5. Jeremiah 1 and 5. Oh, we got Jeremiah 1 and 5. Y'all know we're in a new King James version of the Bible this morning.

Speaker 1:

It says listen, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Before you were born, I sanctified you, I ordained you a prophet to the nations. Listen, he said before I formed you. First of all, you wasn't even. Good morning Jeri. I was about to call you Jeri and my morning Lee, thank you for posting the scripture.

Speaker 1:

Before I formed you, he said you wasn't even formed on your own, it wasn't just because your mom and dad got together. He says I formed you in your mother's womb. Why would God take time to form you in your mother's womb if you didn't have a purpose? Listen, before I formed you in your womb, I knew you Before you were even formed. What do you mean? Before you was even detectable by an ultrasound, before you even begin to kick, before you begin to move in your mother's womb, before a fetus was even formed, before they could even detect you as a living being. In your mother's womb. I knew you, what I knew you before you were even formed. Can you imagine I'm talking about? Before the sperm even met the egg? Y'all know simple biology. This ain't sex education. We all know. We all adults here. But before you even became a fetus, I knew you.

Speaker 1:

Come on, he says I formed you in the womb. I knew you before you were born. I sanctified you and I ordained you. He had a purpose for you before you even got here. He created you on purpose, before you were even born, before you even manifested. Let me, let me let you understand something when the enemy tells you that there's no reason, I don't care where you are, I don't care what's going on in your life, but when the enemy tries to tell you that there's no reason for you being here, tell them that, god, you gotta speak back to the devil. I'm not talking about have a you know less physical conversation with him. I'm talking about you gotta rebuke the devil with scripture. The Bible says in Jeremiah one and five before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and before you were born, I sanctified you and I ordained you. Listen, you gotta talk back to that spirit that tries to make you feel like it's of no use, it's of no consequence that you're here. Glory to God. Let's go to the next scripture.

Speaker 1:

The first point was you were made for a purpose, he said. I formed you and I sanctified you. That means I set you apart. The reason why your life has been different, the reason why you don't fit in in every circle, he said because I sanctified you, and sanctified means set apart. You've been set apart, you've been sanctified. I used to hate that growing up. You know when you want to be cool, you want to do what the other girls and other guys is doing. You want to show out, you want to do what you want to do. It don't sit right in your spirit like, well, I can't do what they be doing. They just to be doing whatever they want to do and it seems like life is easy breezy for them. But when I'm going to do what, I get convicted. When I'm going to do what, God block it because you've been set apart. He said I sanctified you Glory to God, hallelujah. So the first point Jeremiah 1 and 5, was I made you for a purpose.

Speaker 1:

Second point is 1 Peter, 2 and 9. Let's go there real quick 1 Peter 2 and 9. We come in to identify our purpose, father, identify the purpose of your people. We're ultimately the purposes for us to glorify God. But there's a reason, there's a purpose that he created in all of us so that we can give His name glory. 1 Peter 2 and 9. Let's read he says but you are a chosen generation. Somebody say I'm chosen, just put that on the screen. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people. Let me tell you again who you are. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. I'm chosen. See, I don't have to worry about you rejecting me. I don't have to worry about you abandoning me. I don't have to worry about you trying to cancel me. I don't have to worry about you disproving of me, because I've been chosen.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says many are called, but there's a few that have been chosen. That's the word. That's the word. Many are called. God is speaking to all of our hearts. He loves everybody. He wants all of us to come to the knowledge of Him, to come to His saving grace. The Bible says many are called, everybody in this world. He's calling everybody, he's wooing everybody. He's speaking to the hearts and to the mind of everybody, but only a few have been chosen.

Speaker 1:

Listen, let me read that again.

Speaker 1:

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people.

Speaker 1:

I'm special. You don't try to convince me otherwise. I'm special. I mean something to God, I'm worth something. See, the enemy at one point tried to hold my self-esteem hostage, tried to tell me I was nobody, I was not going nowhere, I wasn't worth anything. But now I understand who I am. I'm special. You can't try to make me feel like I'm not.

Speaker 1:

I see, when I told y'all about my past and my childhood, how I was abandoned and abused and rejected and neglected, all the stuff I went through and all that trauma tried to make me feel like I was a nobody. I was like dang, don't, nobody love me. And one day I said that and I heard the Holy Spirit say I do. I said God. It felt like nobody loved me. He says I do, see, and His love gives me value.

Speaker 1:

Come on, he says a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people.

Speaker 1:

Let me tell you he says His own special people that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Speaker 1:

See, that's what I was created for. I was created for this, and can't nobody tell me different. I was created to give God glory. With my story, with all that I've been through, with all that I've suffered, even with all that God has been bringing me through, I was created for this. Whatever it is that God has called you to do, even if there's somebody else doing it, you were created for this.

Speaker 1:

Come on somebody say I was creative. For this, he says that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness. See, darkness is when you don't know who you are, who's you are. We don't know what belongs to you. You don't know that God loves you. You don't know that you were created for a purpose and with a purpose. You don't understand why you're here. Come on, but you were created for this.

Speaker 1:

The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. One of the ways he destroys God's people Come on, let's go there. One of the ways that he destroyed God's people is through a lack of knowledge. The Bible says my people perish from a lack of knowledge. Come on, because we don't know who we are and we don't know why we are. Why was I created? Why I'm here? What's the purpose? Why am I here?

Speaker 1:

And so sometimes we live our lives vicariously, half-azardly. We just do whatever we want, say whatever we want, go wherever we want. But you'll know that you've been chosen when you get in certain environments and you just can't be there. You're trying to do what everybody else do and it don't feel comfortable. The Holy Spirit will convict you because you don't belong there, even when you try to live a certain lifestyle. You might try to live it.

Speaker 1:

I remember one time I was trying to be with this guy. I was trying to be with this guy and I just knew that guy was for me and I was for him, and I don't care what nobody say, because we belong together. We go together real bad, listen. We go together real bad, and ain't nobody breaking us up. But let me tell you something. The Lord separated us and my heart was broken, broken what I was broken? Because God, what is you doing? This is who I'm supposed to be with. And God separated us and moved him all the way across the country and the Lord began to speak to me and he said I separated you because that's not who I have for you. And I was like, well, who did you got for me? He said somebody that will point you to me, somebody that will it's a help meet, that will help you meet me, that will meet you where you're supposed to be at in God, and help you get you where you're supposed to be. See, I thought because he looked good and I look good. You know I ain't trying to do my own home, but I think I look all right. You know I'm thinking like you know we got some things in common. There's some chemistry there. How many of you know you could have chemistry? You know y'all could get along real good. Y'all could have some of the same interests, y'all could be attracted to each other. Come on. But that don't mean they're for you See that that will not how to send you a counterfeit, especially before you're about to get blessed.

Speaker 1:

He know how to send you a counterfeit. They come looking like you want them, smelling like you want them, dressing like you want them. Come on. But they don't be the real thing. And then some of us get caught up in the counterfeit and it detours our lives for years. Come on, somebody been there and done that, wound up with the wrong person.

Speaker 1:

Now you got to go through the cycle of how are you going? How am I going to get out of this? Because I don't hook up with the wrong person, because I don't know what my purpose is. Now your feelings are hurting. You got to go back to God. Let me tell you something Whatever you go outside of the will of God to get, you're going to have to stay out of sight of the will of God to keep. So if you had to step out of the will of God, if you met him at the bar or sis, and you know you wasn't being supposed to be at the bar, now you drinking every weekend, whatever you have to step outside of the will of God to get. You're going to have to step or stay outside of the will of God to keep. Listen, but that's not the will of God. He says you're a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.

Speaker 1:

So when you're looking for a spouse, even for a friend, platonic relationships, right Even you just want a girlfriend like you might be a woman and you're like I want community, I want to be with somebody you know who can lift me up, a prayer partner. You might be a man who's like I'm looking for brotherhood. You know what I'm saying. Now, I don't know, you know other stuff, but you just looking for community and spaces, that where you can be yourself and be accepted at. You got to pray about that Because sometimes, listen, I ain't saying you can't trust somebody, but Kat Williams said can't nobody be trusted? I'm just saying, but you got to pray about that.

Speaker 1:

God, is this person the person that you should have in my life right now right? Will this purpose, will this person serve the purpose of God in my life? Come on, you ever become friends with somebody? I'm talking about just platonic friends, like that's just your girlfriend, that's just your dude. You know, you're all, just friends. You give them your whole heart, you trust them. Whatever, you give them the shirt off your back and before you know what you betrayed, listen, and it happens.

Speaker 1:

Let me tell you something. I had this friend and I'm trying not to get off topic, but real quick, I had this friend. This was my girl. This was my girl and I'm talking about. You know, this is the girl that you tell your secrets of secrets to. Ain't nobody know this stuff. But her right, this was my girl.

Speaker 1:

But this is what happens when you don't pray about friendships, when you don't ask God to lead you and reveal and I ain't gonna lie, if I'm honest, there was a dream I had about her, but I kinda thought, like, is this my own emotions? But it was the spirit of God speaking to me. So you gotta pay attention to when God speaks to you and ask him to give you a sensitivity to his spirit so that you would listen to him. Glory to God. And so the Lord warned me about this woman. But I was just like, oh, I think that's just my own emotions or something. Maybe that's my own past traumas or fears. But the Lord revealed something to me about her and, sure enough, just as he revealed it, so it happened. And this woman I don't know if it was intentional well, it had to be intentional because she did it on purpose but portray me something fierce I'm talking about almost messed my life up and I was like, but God, how he says you have to pray about your friendships, and when I reveal something to you, you gotta be obedient enough and willing enough to walk alone for a season in your life.

Speaker 1:

You can't afford to try to bring everybody with you. See where you going right now. The truth of the matter is, is God is separating you and some of us who have abandonment issues? Come on, let's talk about it. Some of us who have abandonment trauma, been there, done that, still working through it. I'm in therapy about it. But some of us who have that abandonment issue, who have developed that negative coping mechanism of co-dependency come on, who we got a problem with being alone. With those of us who haven't faced those issues right. We're still struggling, we're trying to get there.

Speaker 1:

You gotta be careful because you can wind up in soul ties, come on with the wrong individuals. And soul ties doesn't necessarily have to be of an intimate nature, like you know, physical, sexual, intimate nature. It could be emotional. You in an emotional soul tie with somebody you co-dependent, what, and can't get out. I can't leave them, but I need them.

Speaker 1:

The Bible tells me that he sets the lonely in families. So when you lonely, when you by yourself, when you're going through, when you feel alone, he will give you the family, he will give you that community, he will give you the right people. See, when you walk in your purpose, who is supposed to be there will be attracted to you. Your purpose attracts the people that's meant to be in your life for the purpose of God's will in your life. All right, a chosen generation of royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people that we may proclaim the praises of him who called you, are the darkness. I can't walk in darkness, no more, because that's not where I live. I once lived there, in the darkness of my mind, not knowing who I was, who God was, what he wanted from me, what he expected of me. I lived in darkness according to the flesh, doing whatever I wanted, saying whatever I wanted. Come on, living however I wanted, but I don't live there anymore. My address has changed now I live in the spirit. I've been called out of darkness to proclaim him, who caught me into his marvelous light. The second point was 1 Peter 2.9 that we just read. You've been chosen for it. I don't live there no more. Don't come looking for me at the same address, because I've relocated and the Bible says I've been seated in heavenly places. You're still looking for me down here and I don't live there no more.

Speaker 1:

Ecclesiastes three and one is the third point. Let's go there. Everything has a purpose, not just you. I'm talking about everything and everybody has a purpose. Listen, everything got a purpose, everything and everybody, but not everybody comes to the full knowledge of it. Everything has a purpose. Let me prove it to you. Ecclesiastes three and one this is the word. Ecclesiastes three and one proves to me. It says this. Ecclesiastes three and one proves to me. It says this to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Everything has a purpose and there's a time for your purpose. How many of you know that this is the time for your purpose to be revealed. This is the time for you to understand what your purpose is, and everything that was created has a purpose. God has not made anything that is without purpose. Let me tell you how this.

Speaker 1:

I was going for a walk the other day and I was in the park and it was like a real woodsy area and I noticed that as I'm approaching this particular tree is a whole bunch of gnats around and I'm like maybe I can move over a little bit. So you know how you walk through gnats and they get all over you, they get all in your hair. And I'm like God, please don't let me walk through these gnats. And they get me. So I try to walk, I try to move out the way, girl, I try to get out the way and the gnats follow me. So now I'm running through the park trying to get the gnats off of me, shaking, and now I'm like hyperventilating because I feel like bugs all over me the whole time. It's my own hair.

Speaker 1:

I'm like, oh boy, I hate these gnats. What's they even here for? Like, what is the purpose of gnats? Like, do they really got a purpose? Why go home and I Googled it, see, because the Bible tells me that everything has a purpose. Don't laugh at me, chantel. So I go home and I Googled it.

Speaker 1:

Why is it that gnats have such a purpose? First of all, they're created for the pollination of flowers. They have helped the flowers pollinate. They're created for food for some of the birds and some of the other insects. Like they have such a purpose, and when you see them in these big swarms, they're actually mating. And after they mate and lay eggs, they typically die. But they can't even die until they have fulfilled their purpose.

Speaker 1:

And I said, wow, when I read the scripture this morning, to everything there's a season and a time for every purpose in the heaven. I said, wow, god, you really waste nothing. Everything has a purpose, even the things that annoy us. Come on, gnats is mad. Anoying. Like you get a gnat on you, like you feel like you be scratching and itching all day. But everything has a purpose. Glory to God, hallelujah, thank you Jesus. So the third point, with Ecclesiastes 3 and 1, everything has a purpose.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to the next one, jeremiah 29 and 11. We just go and walk to the word. Let's walk y'all, jeremiah 29 and 11,. He says but I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected and a hope in the future. Why would God have thoughts towards somebody if he didn't create them for a purpose? Why would he create you? Why would his thoughts be towards the benefit or the prosperity of your future? Why would he be thinking about your future? Why would he be thinking about your hope? Why would he be thinking about that if he didn't create you with a purpose? He says in Jeremiah 29 and 11, for I know the thoughts I think towards you.

Speaker 1:

Do you know that God is constantly thinking thoughts towards you when ain't nobody else checking for you? God is. Do you know that there is times in our life where you feel like anybody thinking about me, anybody checking for me, anybody call me. Did they see how I was doing? Anybody ask me how I'm living? Anybody say, hey, do you need anything from the store? Ain't nobody checking for me? But the Bible says that God is all the time.

Speaker 1:

He says I know the thoughts. Not only do I have the thoughts, but I know the thoughts when nobody else think I'm thinking about you. When nobody else is thinking about you. I know the thoughts that I have toward you say of the Lord, thoughts of peace, they mean it for your evil. I'm thinking thoughts of peace. He says they're not evil, to give you a future and a hope. See, he wants to get you to the place where you understand that I was really created for a purpose. I'm really here for a reason. I'm here to help somebody. I'm here to tell somebody that they was created for a purpose. Listen, created with a purpose. Come on somebody. He says I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a hope and a future. And, expected in, you can expect peace in your future. You can expect hope in your future. You were created for this and I know the thoughts I think toward you. Don't let anybody tell you that nobody's thinking about you. Don't let they tell you that you're not on the mind of God. You're on his mind and he has thoughts that he's thinking toward you.

Speaker 1:

So the fourth point was he has a purpose for your purpose. He has a purpose for your purpose. There's a purpose that you have that God is going to reveal, that he's revealing to you even now, and that purpose has a purpose, to give him glory, to magnify the Lord, to give you a hope in a future. Let's go to the fifth point, job 42 and two. We almost done y'all, job 42 and two. Let's go to it real quick.

Speaker 1:

He says I know that you can do everything and that no purpose of yours can be without from you. No purpose of yours can be thwarted. That means there is no purpose of God that can be stopped. So God created you with a purpose by his purpose and his purposes cannot be stopped. His purpose for you can't be stopped. Now, sometimes we delay our purpose right when we hook up with the wrong people, when we go the wrong way. God told us to go left. We go right. God tells us to do this and we be like I think I'm going to see for myself. And he's like Dad, you know, held up the purpose. That's not the purpose I had for you. Now you're going to spend years in the wrong way doing the wrong thing, and that's not. You're going to delay it, but you can't, but it can't be stopped.

Speaker 1:

He says listen, I know that you can do everything and that no purpose of yours can be withheld from you. There's no purpose that God has for you that can be withheld. So we have to begin to ask God don't let me, don't let me sabotage my own purpose. Come on, sometimes we good at self-sabotaging. What Self-sabotaging? A minute, I'll talk yourself out of God's purpose in a minute. But God don't want you doing that. He's saying, want you to know that you were created for a purpose, with a purpose and on purpose. So that fourth point, one, two, three, four, fourth point was I mean fifth point was His purpose for you can't be stopped. All right, we're going to go to Acts 13, 36. We're almost done, acts 13, 36. Let's go to real quick.

Speaker 1:

It says for David after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep and was buried with his father and saw corruption. Listen, let me just read that again because this might be a little bit tricky. We're in a new King James version. He said for David after he served his generation by the will of God, he fell asleep. That means he died. After David, after he served his own generation by the will of God, he fell asleep. He could not even go to the grave until he had served his own generation, until he had did what God purposed him to do. This, says David, after he served his own generation. Listen, you're from a specific generation and you were called to the kingdom of God for such a time as this. Listen to Book of Esther, if you want to look at this. You've been created for such a time as this. You can't go nowhere. You're not leaving up out of here, god even going to let you exit this world until your purpose has been finished. You were created. It's about your legacy. Do you know that David was considered a man after God's own heart? He has a legacy. We read about him, his legacy here, for David, after he served his own generation by the will of God, by the will of God. That's the purpose of God, it says. Then he fell asleep and was buried with his fathers. Father, don't let me die before my purpose is fulfilled. Don't let me leave this earth. They say that the grave is full with gifts, talents and purposes that people have negated because they did not come to understand that they were created for a purpose. They were created on purpose, by purpose and with purpose. It was after David did the will of God that he went to sleep, that he rested with his fathers.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to the last scripture, ephesians 2 and 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in him. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, right For good works, which God prepared beforehand. It's already been prepared for you to walk in it. Come on. His workmanship created for good works, that's a purpose. He says His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. It's time for you to walk in your purpose. Ask God to help you identify why I've been created. Why have I been created? What is the call of God on my life? What do you want me to do?

Speaker 1:

Remember when Jesus was in the Garden of Cassinomy right before His crucifixion. Let me tell you something, because sometimes we think that our purpose are just tied to our gifts and our talents and our abilities, and they are one part of it. But even your pain will point to purpose. Remember when Jesus was in the Garden of Cassinomy and he was about to be crucified. He was about to be handed over. He asked His disciples to come pray with Him for an hour and they kept falling asleep. But while he was in the Garden. He kept praying and praying, and praying and praying. He prayed so heavily and so mightily that it says that His sweat was like drops of blood. He prayed so earnestly, he was in so much distress and he said to the Father can this cup pass from me? Do I have to go through this trauma? Do I have to go through this trial? Do I have to go through this pain? Do I have to go through this tribulation? Can this cup pass from me? See, even in His pain, it was for a purpose.

Speaker 1:

And some of us, we want to get rid of the pain that we've gone through. Y'all know I've been through a lot of stuff. I told you all about the trauma and the pain and the abandonment and the rejection and all of that stuff that I went through. I thought it was for no reason. I'm just like. I went through all of that for nothing. There was no purpose in that in my life. But even now God has me as a trauma and mental health advocate, helping people identify the trauma they've gone through, navigate it and recover from traumatic experiences. See, it was for a purpose. But if I negated the pain that I had gone through, if I had neglected it, if I had looked over it, I would not be able to identify what my purpose is. And many of us have experienced some painful things in our lives and we think it was for no reason. But if you went through that so that you could tell somebody else, I understand, and with that same level of comfort that God has comforted you, you're gonna be able to comfort somebody else.

Speaker 1:

Somebody say it's on purpose, glory to God. It's on purpose. Don't negate what you've been through, don't negate what you're going through, don't negate even what you're coming through even now. It's on purpose, glory to God. Hallelujah. We praise God for the word of God this morning. Listen, the Bible says his word is a lamp into my path and a lamp, I'm sorry, a lamp into my feet and a light into my path. He leads us, he guides us, and that's what he's doing for us this morning. He's leading us and guiding us. He's revealing to us what our purpose is. He wants to take us deeper, he wants to take us higher, he wants to pull us closer. So he wants to reveal to us what it's all about. He wants to get us to a place where we understand where the math starts to math. Because right now. Sometimes, when we go and do stuff, y'all know what they say the math ain't math and this ain't adding up. What's the God? What was this all about? Who did I go to that for? But God wants to reveal it to us. Grow it to God, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

So take these scriptures back to God in your own time and, just asking God, help me to be in a place where you can reveal your purpose for my life. I understand that I've been chosen, I've been created, I've been called to the kingdom of God. For such a time is this don't negate your purpose. All right, guys, that's it for today. Listen, I pray that you were encouraged. I pray that you are motivated to seek God regarding your purpose, what you're here to do, what you're here to fulfill, what goals, dreams, visions God has given to you to do in this earth. May your purpose be Revealed unto you and not only revealed but fulfilled to the fullest extent. May you reach your God-given potential and everything that God has assigned for you to do. That is my prayer for you today.
