The Evolving Podcast
When Clarity Doesn't Come Quickly
There’s a pressure a quiet, persistent pressure
that says by now you should know.
What you want. Who you are. Where you’re going.
And when you don’t, it can feel like failure.
But maybe it’s not failure.
Maybe it’s just the foggy middle between who you were and who you’re becoming.
This is for anyone standing in that in-between.
For anyone who let go of one version of life but hasn’t quite found the next.
You are not behind.
You are becoming.

Remember: You’re not starting over — you’re becoming. One breath, one choice, one shift at a time.”
It has been a while since I've recorded an episode for Evolving Life. And in between that time, so many things have happened in my life. But coming back to recording my podcast, I felt was a transition that needed to happen.
Because my life has been evolving, I wanted to continue to share with you the ever-changing aspect of my life as a way to motivate and as a way to let you know that you are not alone, that we are all experiencing what it means to be alive.
So, I have started a new process with my podcast. I am now publishing on Substack and I've decided to put that same post, audio post here on my original podcast. I have renamed the Evolving Life Podcast. Now it's just the Evolving Podcast.
While the wording has changed, the focus is still the same. Initially, Evolving Life Podcast was about exploring the different facets of life and its ever-changing processes we are all experiencing and learning from.
But now the wording is just a little different. It's about not starting from square one. It's about becoming. I have decided that each episode will offer real-life rebuild. Stories that are raw and conversational that will remind you that the mess that is life, the pause, the pivots, it's all a part of becoming who you're meant to be.
Whether you are healing after chaos or rediscovering your voice or building a new life, this podcast is for you. This space is for you. There will be no performances, no pretending, just truth and transformation.
So, without further ado, here is the podcast that I posted earlier today on Substack. And I truly hope that you will continue to support me. You'll go to Substack and join. I should also tell you that I am also using a pen name. So instead of Merlene, I'm using my middle name, which is Beatrice Campbell.
I hope that this episode will resonate with you. I also used to end each episode with a quote, and I would like to continue that tradition. So here is the quote that I hope will also resonate with you.
Growth isn't loud. Keep unfolding.
I'll see you the next time. what do I mean when I say when clarity doesn't come quickly it's when it hasn't happened quickly enough in your life where you know who you are what you are and where you're going you understand your values but there are things in your life that just have not fall into place how can you say that your life is transparent or you have total clarity.
When after working for so many years, you suddenly lose your job and you've lost your sense of purpose or what you hope you wanted to accomplish in life.
It was and still is an emotional journey for me after I unexpectedly lost my job. It was the fear of not meeting my daily expectations while still feeling relief because now I could possibly find the clarity I've wanted in life.
But while at the same time feeling angry with myself or feeling doubt because I haven't figured things out yet. And I feel as if I should have. One thing was clear for me though. I knew that I wanted to move in another direction with my life. I knew that I no longer wanted to work for others.
That I wanted to find a way to live my best life. To live life on my own terms. That's kind of how shift freaking happens came into fruition. It was admitting that shift does happen even when it's unexpected.
And I also realized it's how I would deal with it. And one of the ways I chose to deal with it was by doing what I'm doing right now is to share my thoughts on the ups and downs of life and potentially to share the solutions that I eventually came into.
It would absolutely not be true if I said that everything is wonderful right now. The reality is, it's not. I'm still a work in progress. I'm still trying to find my clarity. I'm still trying to deal with living my best life, not someone else's best life.
It's a process. It's an ongoing process. And I'm hoping that eventually I will find my clarity. I try my best, though, to not allow myself to feel as if I'm a failure. just because things aren't going the way you hope that they would or want them to, it doesn't mean that you're a failure.
And I think the last three posts that I've done has shown that in spite of everything, you can't give up on yourself and you can't allow yourself to think negatively of yourself by A, believing that because you haven't reached the pinnacle of where you want to be in life, it doesn't mean you're a failure. The idea that I'm in the middle, or as I said, the foggy middle between where I am and where I want to be just sounds so much better to me.
I'm convinced that in spite of my setbacks, I will find that version of my life that will be my becoming. And at the same time, I do realize that clarity isn't something that you just demand and it appears.
It happens over time. The same thing with success. All of it happens over time. You just have to be persistent and continue on your path towards finding that moment in your life where you can say, finally, clarity. I'm going to end by saying this.
Wherever you are in your becoming, you should honor it. I truly believe that you don't have to rush clarity. And you just have to stay open to the possibility of it.
I also want to say, if you're like me and you're in the middle of your own unraveling and rediscovering, I totally get it. I would like to be there to help in any way I can as I'm helping myself. That is why I've created something called Rebuild Kit.
You can find the link below to learn more about it. and if it feels like the right next step for you, consider joining my community, joining the sub stack, and learn more about Rebuild Kit.
The link will be in the body of this post. I will see you in my next recording. Just remember, you're not behind, you're becoming. And I'll meet you right here again soon.
