The True Benefit Of Leaning In To Your Doula Community
In this episode, I am diving deep into the world of doula communities and why they're so important for birthworkers. They are the true backbone of what we do.
I share some insights from my time in the bustling Boston doula scene, where collaboration trumps competition every day. I am so lucky that we're all about building each other up and creating a strong support system for everyone involved.
Now, let's chat about the different roles within these communities. Whether you're a seasoned leader, a new kid on the block, or somewhere in between, active participation is key. It's all about giving and receiving support to help us grow both personally and professionally.
For those just dipping their toes into the doula world, I've got some tips on how to get involved. From hitting up social media to rubbing elbows at networking events, there are plenty of ways to plug into your local community and soak up that collective wisdom.
I also highlight the importance of community for our mental and emotional well-being. Let's face it, birthwork can be tough, so having a crew to lean on is crucial for staying resilient and avoiding burnout.
As we wrap things up, I'm throwing out a challenge to all you listeners: think about how you can contribute to making your doula community even stronger. Whether it's lending a helping hand, sharing your experiences, or just showing up, every little bit counts.
