Speaker 1:

Hello, hello, it's Nadine here and I'm here with this week's mini episode of Life, health and the Universe. Now, I have to admit that I kind of am here today, and I've been. Well, part of me has been racking my brains about what to talk about in this mini episode. I've actually got a whole bunch of guests lined up in the coming weeks. I've got seven interviews booked in the coming weeks, so we're going to have a whole bunch of content that we can get stuck into over that time, as well as our monthly episodes where I'm joined by Laverne Proctor of Chiron Spectra, where we're talking about universal living in our series Guide to Universal Living. So there's a bunch of stuff going on. I'm going to be having some great conversations with a whole variety of different people authors, coaches, therapists, researchers, innovators so stay tuned for those. So, anyway, as I said, I've been kind of racking my brains about what to talk about in this mini episode, knowing that there are all these things, these interviews, coming up, and so I just went. You know what I need. To just get back to basics, the podcast is called Life, health and the Universe, and that's generally what I talk about things that have been popping up in my life that are associated with those three topics, because the more I live my life, the more I see the interconnectedness of all of those things. But rather than talk about any one of those particular things today, I just thought I'd give you a little bit of an update on where I am with all of these things life, health and the universe. These topics come up in all of the conversations I have and they're generally relevant to where I am in my journey. Excuse me, but yeah, sometimes you kind of forget. I'm definitely a bit of a sticky beak. I like knowing what people are up to, but I sometimes forget that I don't very often talk about myself that much. So I'm going to tell you a little bit about what's been going on in my life.

Speaker 1:

In this episode we're going to start with life. I'm going to go through those three areas briefly and give you a little bit of insight into what's happening right now. So life, let's start with life. So six and a bit, nearly seven months ago, my husband, darren and I bought a new home on five acres of land. So we've got some bush, which in England would be called forest, and we've got lots of grass. So there's lots of mowing to be done, and if you live in Australia on the mid-north coast, you know exactly what I'm talking about, because the grass grows as you basically turn your back. So at the moment, we're renovating, we've got this new property that we're taking care of and we're loving living our lives here and getting familiar with it. It does feel full, even though we're doing all of the things that we want to do. We're very fortunate to be in this place right now, but life feels pretty full because we're doing stuff all the time. We're working so I'm podcasting, as you probably guessed, and we're personal training and, as you know, if you listen to my last mini episode, I shared with you that I'm also studying as a self-paced course to become a GeneKey's guide. If you haven't heard that episode, just check it out. It's only a couple of mini episodes ago, just talking a little bit about what the GeneKey's are and what I'm doing with that. So that's life.

Speaker 1:

As well as that, I have talked a little bit about our homeschooling journey and what we've been learning in our homeschooling journey. So there may be questions that you have, like are you still homeschooling? Yes, we are. We are still homeschooling. It's definitely been a journey and one that I think has been super valuable for all of us, and just in the last couple of months or so, we really feel like we've turned a corner with the kids. There's less resistance because we've built that kind of trust and that relationship back up which can sometimes be sort of broken when kids are trying to find the balance between home and school life and also when parents are busy it can be really difficult to be present. And so having we feel very, very again, very fortunate to be having this experience with our kids and we're really noticing the benefits of the homeschooling journey, the benefits for all of us. It's not always easy Sometimes, yeah, sometimes tiring, but more often than not very, very, very rewarding for all of us, and have absolutely no regrets and no doubts that we will continue doing it for the foreseeable future. So that's kind of life at the moment. Health, health's good.

Speaker 1:

Some of you may know, if you've been listening for a while or if you knew me before the podcast, I have been a crossfitter over the last few years. I'm actually wearing a t-shirt that I got and my kids asked me today how old the t-shirt was. It was a crossfit t-shirt that I had from when I went to the CrossFit Games in 2009 and I was like, yeah, that's 15 years old, and you might be surprised that I actually own a t-shirt that's 15 years old. But you know what? It's one of the best t-shirts I've got. It's very good quality and obviously they don't make things quite the way they used to 15 years ago. That's the way I see it.

Speaker 1:

But, yeah, my journey when it comes to moving my body and being a crossfitter although I do still dabble in a little bit of CrossFit style training it is less frequent, less intense and much more focused on longevity, making sure that I look after my body, that I stay strong, that I maintain some lean muscle, that I keep my bone density strong. I'm going to be turning 50 in a couple of months and, although I am generally pretty healthy, we still need to take care of those things. They don't just happen magically. Need to be conscious of that. So, health when it comes to exercise good. So try not to be too hard on myself and definitely don't do as much and feel I can't do as much, because I just get very tired Much more easily. And that could be because we're doing a whole bunch of other things. So we're out physically moving our bodies, doing things on the property as well.

Speaker 1:

Sleep's good. I'm perimenopausal and I don't have any symptoms. I consider myself fortunate in that regard as well. The only symptoms I have are the irregularity of my cycle. Sleep's good. I follow intermittent fasting for the most part, but that fluctuates. I don't have any hard and fast rules. I've got a couple of different episodes that talk about that, which I recommend. If you haven't, go and check those out. I take my mouth at night to help with my breathing. I'm not currently practicing regular meditation, which I was for a while. I just haven't found the right slot for it. Food's pretty good, yeah. So health is good. Like I don't take any medications. Oh what else? I sauna semi-regularly. We have a sauna at home. They're all the things that we believe contribute. And I walk the dog, so I'm out in nature every day getting daily sunlight all of the things that I believe contribute to a healthy life. So that's health. We've done life, we've done health.

Speaker 1:

Now the universe? Now I was thinking about this and I was kind of like what do I talk about when it comes to the universe? And I think that if you've been listening to the podcast for a while, you'll probably have a sense of the direction that my interests are going in at the moment, and it is about that you know the interconnectedness of all things and how universally so many different things are connected. And really opening my eyes up to that and my journey with human design and the gene keys, my work with Laverne, my collaboration with Laverne in the Guide to Universal Living series they all point towards where I'm at with the universe side of things I just remembered I wanted to go back to. This is kind of a life but also a universe thing, I think.

Speaker 1:

So, going back to moving on to our property, in the last week actually in less than a week, so I've been gardening in part of the property and like with the strimmer stripping some long grass back, and we came across a python snake sitting on a nest of eggs which have now hatched, and so that we found the empty eggs left behind, eggshells left behind. I have had a close encounter with another snake, which I'm not sure what it was, but it was slithering through the grass when I was walking the dog last week. So that was kind of hair raising because you do need to be cautious of some of the snakes around here Pythons aren't one that you need to be cautious of. We've had a python in our garage gym in the last couple of weeks and we've also had a guana in the tree right next to our house. So a guana, for those of you who don't know, is a type of rather large lizard. So these are like reminders to me that you need to be cautious Don't take things for granted, because things could change dramatically very quickly if something happened with a snake, for example.

Speaker 1:

But also for us to connect with nature, and perhaps maybe the more I connect with nature, the more I see to remember that we are living alongside all sorts of different animals, whether we see them or not, and we can. I think this is kind of like a metaphor that we can live side by side with each other, with other animals, peacefully. This is kind of like the message that I feel has been coming through when it comes to the universal stuff, and, yeah, that sometimes there's things going on that we don't see, but they're still there. That's kind of the message I've been getting, with those little reminders the snake showing itself, the lizard showing itself. Yeah, they're just those little reminders that there's a bigger picture. There's a lot of stuff going on that we don't see, both good and bad, but we can live alongside one another in harmony.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to sign off for now, but before I go, I'd like to invite you to have a think about those three areas of your life life, health and the universe. What's been happening? How are you feeling about it? You love in life? I hope you are. Are you taking care of yourself? I hope you are, and have you got anything that's happened in your life that might just be a sign from the universe? Try and stay tuned into that too. All right, I'm going to love you and leave you. Thanks for listening. I'll see you again next time. Bye for now.
