Professor Armellini, a PFHEA ( Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy), FRSA ( Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts ), and National Teaching Fellow, has made significant contributions to the field of education through his roles in digital and distributed learning.

Before joining Portsmouth in 2020, he was the Dean of Learning and Teaching at the University of Northampton, where he led the Learning and Teaching plan, enhancing student outcomes and staff recognition. He also spearheaded the Active Blended Learning (ABL) transformation, shaping the design of Northampton’s Waterside campus.
