In this episode, we examine the tension between free speech and political cancel culture, with a focus on how some Republicans have sought to silence or “cancel” Democratic voices. We unpack the irony of free speech being championed in theory but restricted in practice, and how these actions raise questions about consistency, power, and who gets to set the boundaries of public discourse. By looking at recent examples, we explore whether canceling opponents undermines democracy itself and what it reveals about the state of political dialogue in America today.
