This one’s for the creative who’s been carrying a God-given idea in their heart for way too long. You know the one...the idea that keeps nudging you, whispering at you in the quiet moments, but somehow keeps getting pushed to the back burner.

Yeah… I’m talking to you today.

And don’t worry - I’m not coming for you without checking myself first. Because this? It used to be me. Honestly, some days, it still is. When God gives us something to build, birth, or begin that business, book, product, service, or new season...the resistance is real. Doubt, delay, distraction - they all show up dressed like “good reasons.”

But deep down, you know you’re not at peace because you haven’t moved on what He placed in you.

In today’s episode, we’re going heart-first into:

  • Why your idea won’t let you go
  • The sneaky ways fear masks itself as “timing” or “preparation”
  • And how to take one bold, obedient step toward the vision...even if it’s messy

This isn’t about hustle. It’s about holy momentum.

Let’s talk about what happens when you finally say yes.

Speaker:

Today, my friend is for the creative who has a God given idea sitting in their spirit, but they keep putting it on the back burner. Yep, we're talking about it now. I might be calling you out right now. I'm assuming because you clicked to listen on this episode that this speaks to you, that this person, this creative that I'm talking about is you, however. It used to be Me too. Okay. It in fact still is me. Whenever God calls me to something or I know an idea is from him and I wanna pursue it, but man, I just can't because it's too much. It's too heavy. I don't know. I'm scared. So many things. Right. I understand. I know. That tension, that tension where you're praying for clarity, you're praying for answers, you're praying for what exactly to do in order to pursue the idea, or praying for the confidence to help you take that step forward. You're praying for it. But what I'm finding is a lot of times in our spirit. We know what it is. We might not have all the clarity in the world, but we know what that idea is, and we know the next step that God is wanting us to take. You're just afraid to move, so you mask it. You mask it by telling yourself that you need even more answers from God before you move forward. You mask it by telling yourself that it's just not the right time. We put all of these masks on it and make all of the excuses when a lot of times, my friend, you're just scared. And you know what? It's okay to admit that because it's not an easy thing to do. It's not easy. Pursuing the idea that God gave you. It's not even easy trying to figure out if God gave you that idea or if it was an idea of your own. It is not simple. Here's the thing, the idea that you have in your mind, what you wanna pursue, what you wanna build, what you feel called to create. That thing didn't just come out of nowhere. Now I understand you're still trying to decipher, is it God's voice or is it your voice? At the end of the day, the idea did not come from nowhere. And I think we just need to understand what it even looks like for God to give us an idea in the first place because yes, could it be period point, blank. He just spoke those words to your mind one day and you were like, oh, yep. That idea was definitely from the Holy Spirit. Yes, it could be. But a lot of times God might show you or push you or nudge you towards that idea. He might speak that idea through different people into you. He might trigger a thought to come to your mind after you just got done doing something that you are passionate about, or something that sparked a fire in you and then that triggered a thought that maybe just maybe you should pursue this thing. You should go after this idea. And I wanna say that because a lot of times we just say that we're waiting on God to pursue what he's calling us to do. We're waiting on the right timing. We're waiting for him to give us clarity on this idea, my friend. Let's be real. A lot of the clarity that we seek sometimes is God just telling us point blank what it is, but we cannot fit God into that box. He will not work within your box of how you think he should be telling you what your next step is. That is up to God to distinguish how he's going to bring that your way, lead you towards it, and you have to do that work. And a lot of times confirming if it was God who gave you that idea, is just moving. Moving in a direction where you think it could be God's idea that he placed in your mind and seeing where it leads. Because a lot of times if God gave you that idea, it won't be easy. It'll be hard, but it will also flow Doors will supernaturally open. You don't have to force, force, force for things to happen. They just divinely do on God's timing when it comes to that idea because he's the one that gave it to you. Versus if you're bumping into a lot of closed doors, things are not working, you're constantly frustrated. It is back to back roadblock after roadblock, after roadblock. Well, maybe that's not God's path for you. I'm not the one to tell you that. That's for you to distinguish because there are times where God will bring you through the fire in something to sharpen you enough for an idea to come to life. I know I'm saying a lot, but the reason why is because God is not predictable when it comes to how he's going to. Show you that the idea that you have in your mind is what he wants you to pursue and how he's going to help you pursue it if that's the case. But I gotta say, if God gave you that idea, that should not be wasted for the creator of you to give you an idea of what to pursue. He is calling you to something to make an impact, to make a difference in your life and to others. So why are you hiding when you have been called for this? If you received that idea, then that means you are the one that he has called to steward that idea well. So what are you doing about it? Hiding is not stewarding That idea, sitting on excuses and masks is not stewarding that idea. Now, here's the thing, the reason why. A lot of us struggle in stewarding An idea that God may have given us is because we got a lot of questions, we got a lot of fears, and what you think are logistical questions is really lies that you are telling yourself that hinder you from pursuing what God has been calling you to do this entire time. There has been different ideas that God has called me to over my life so far, and even if I didn't know it was God, and maybe it was just my idea and I just wanted to try it, I could tell whether he was in it or not. When he's in it. As I mentioned before, things flow. Things naturally happen, and nothing feels so dramatically forced when he's not in it. When he didn't really call you to that and you're really just going your own way, then things feel closed, things feel darker. Things don't feel in alignment with your own self, and you will literally feel that if. You will allow the spirit to connect with you in that way and show you that this is not the way. So when you do pursue the ideas that he did give you, and you see that your responsibility is to steward that idea, well then that means that you first have to overcome the questions that you know you are asking yourself right now. So let's go through those questions. What if I'm not ready? What if people don't get it? What if someone else is already doing it? What if I fail? I know these questions have been asked in your mind. And I also just wanna highlight the very real fact that they're scary. I'm not gonna sit here and be like, Hey, you can get over it. It's not that bad. Just push through. No, it's terrifying. Okay. There's a lot of questions in our human mind that we ask ourselves logistically, but. We need to understand that when God has given us this idea and he is calling us to pursue it, he does not care about your logistics. He cares about your obedience. And what's scary is a lot of times we'll take these logistical fears and we will say. That we're waiting on God, for example, the logistical fear of what, if I'm not ready, you will put an excuse to that and say, okay, well let me just wait on God until I'm ready. The logistical fear of what if I fail? You'll put an excuse on that and say, okay, well, I'll wait on God to help make me more confident so that I can ensure I succeed. Don't get me wrong, there are seasons for waiting on God, but more than not, God is waiting on you. He needs you to take that first step. He needs you to move. He needs to see your effort. He needs to see your obedience. Rather than constantly seeking all the clarity, now. Something else I want to say when it comes to. The fact that you're hiding from your God-given idea, my friend, you are not supposed to feel qualified in order to finally pursue that idea. God so beautifully has a pattern of calling the unqualified. There are so many stories in the Bible where he has called people that have had so many flaws that were far from perfect. His disciple, Matthew, was a tax collector and betrayed his own people. His other disciple Simon, who was a zealot, which was a group known to be extremely violent. Paul was known to be a murderer, literally murdering Christians. Yet God called these people. Do you think. That he cares about your qualifications, about your expertise, about your perfectionism. He doesn't want that because think about that. When you have the heart position of being so highly qualified, you get all the qualifications and the credentials, and you're just this picture perfect person you're acting like you don't need God. Why? Because Jesus is what makes us perfect. Jesus qualifies and validates us. So if Jesus is not in that picture, and you have this sense of entitlement in regards to your own validation and your own perfectionism and your own qualifications, then where is God in that? If God has a history of calling the unqualified, then why are you setting that false expectation on yourself that you need to be qualified in order to pursue what he's calling you to do? God doesn't ask for your perfection. He wants your obedience. He just wants your yes. Let him work out. The rest you say, yes, not just with your words, but with your action. By moving move. Do something one little step towards that idea that you believe that God gave you. Let him work out the rest. Let him sustain that path. Let him pivot it however he sees fit, and speaking of your yes Is so essential for you to stop hiding. Behind the idea that God gave you because your yes to finally pursuing what he did give you is the key to someone else's transformation, someone else's freedom. There is someone or a group of people out there that are looking for a seed to be planted in their life, and that seed is what sprouts into a relationship between them and Jesus. It's what helps them overcome what they're facing. Sing change for the better. Light a spark inside of them so that they can do and pursue what God is calling them to do so that they can heal, so that they can overcome in any degree or a variation in something specific. You, my friend, are being called. To be that seed planter in that person's or group of people's lives. Just by you saying yes to the idea that God gave you, and this could mean anything. Sure. It could be as transformational as you wanting to be this incredible life coach or motivational speaker to the point where you're pouring into people and changing their lives. Yes, it could be to that scale when it comes to planting a seed. However, it could also be completely random. It could also be. You starting this nonprofit or you writing this book, or you launching this digital product and based off of what that project or book or product is based on. Whatever you do, whatever that idea is, it can help someone. I always love to remind people and remind myself that entrepreneurship is not about you. I know it feels that way because we just wanna make our money and leave our nine to five and be our own boss. So it feels like it's all about me, me, me. Guess what? My friend entrepreneurship, God's way has nothing to do with you. God is calling you to this business. To be a light to people that need it to make impact to people that need it to some degree, and yes, can the benefit of that when it comes to entrepreneurship, be financial freedom and you being successful and you getting opportunities? Yes, but deep down, the real purpose has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with who God is calling you to be an impact for to help. To overcome, to see, to reveal, to heal, to learn, all because of your, yes. It doesn't matter how small that idea seems or feels to you, because even though that idea might feel small to you. It could be someone else's answered prayer. I remember when God was calling me. To show up consistently with these podcast episodes. Before I was doing it, like maybe once a month, it was really hard for me to be consistent with them at first, and then I just felt this nudge to start learning to steward my time better so that I could show up in these episodes weekly. And at first I was like, is that really necessary though? Do I really need to do this? That sounds exhausting. And then once I just gave God my yes and did it and was consistent in it and found a lot of passion and purpose in it, I started to see the results that came from that, that had everything to do with how these episodes are impacting people. Whether it's one person that listens or a hundred thousand people that listen. The comments that I see in these episodes reveal to me that I am doing what God is calling me to do. I gave him my yes rather than hiding behind the idea and seeing how these episodes are helping people, healing people, pouring into people, growing confidence in people. Gaining clarity in people, that is the mission, but none of that would've happened. None of those people, I wouldn't have been able to help had I not given God my yes to doing this in the first place. Stop hiding behind your God given idea. When you do, you are robbing someone else of their transformation. Now the person, the people that God wants to transform, he will use who he needs to help that person. It's up to you to give God your yes or no. God will use who he needs, but he's called you. Are you going to say yes or are you going to keep hiding and basically show God to move on to someone else? It is time to stop hiding. It's been long enough. It's time to move even in the smallest way, even if it's messy, even if it's scary, even if it's awkward, even if it's quiet and nobody notices, guess what God does? It's time. Here's what I want you to do, just as an actionable step. I want you somewhere to write down the idea that God has placed in your mind. Maybe it's a brand new life changing idea. Maybe it's just one small idea in what you're already doing, whatever it is, write it down somewhere. If you can write it on a sticky note that's even better. Take that sticky note and place it in a room or a space where you are in every day. Your car, the mirror in your bathroom, your office space. Put it there because I think we need a daily reminder in written form for us to visually see what that idea could be that God is calling us to do. And I want that daily reminder to help you take some sort of small step. This week you wake up, you see that note in the bathroom, you see it in your car, you see it in your office space. It is a reminder to move. So anytime you're hesitant, anytime you don't want to, anytime you're too tired. That sticky note is the annoying but friendly nudge that it's time. Highly, highly recommend that you do that, especially if you have been struggling for way too long to just move. Thanks so much for tuning in today, friend.
