The Resource is a safe container where we open up Pandora’s Box on all the uncomfortable stuff.We are having gracious conversations on heavy-hitting topics.In our first season, we are taking a deep dive into all things Sexual harassment, assault, and workplace culture.Ill be talking to survivors, HR specialists, psychologists, reformed offenders, consent educators, lawyers, and MPs and more key players. I'm going to be breaking down the major issues, and help people understand their rights and the best course of action.My hope is that listeners feel so supported, informed, and confident about these topics that you start and continue better conversations that create lasting change. We speak to, I Was a Teenage Fundamentalist podcast hosts, Brian McDowell and Troy Waller about their experiences of being teenage fundamentalists.
We speak about both of their experiences of coming into religion as teenagers and how this, for one of them, was the start of 20 years of Pentecostal and Evangelical church involvement, both as a congregant and in leadership.
Troy shares with us how he was brought up in a non-religious family and was recruited into the church as a 13-year-old. They both speak of the journey, the impact, the trauma, and the scars that were left in their soul searching and the destruction of their beliefs. We have a really great conversation about the impact of religion in purity culture, the laws that have been shaped by religion, and also the really great conversations that they're having on their podcast and with the people who have had similar experiences to them. This isn't a way of me telling anybody how they should feel. This was a point of view, and anything that I do is always with the intention to help people feel accepted, feel safe, and feel seen. So I hope you enjoy this as much as I did having this conversation. Enjoy.
