Many times in my career, when I went to work on a horse, the owner would warn me that the horse was headshy:

 

"That's just how she is....she's always been that way....everything I've tried to desensitize her doesn't work."

 

This podcast talks about the real causes of headshyness, including what you can try to fix it yourself.


But what I'd really like you to see here is that this is true for every weird horse behavior.

 

That is, what we may think of as "normal"....is not normal.

 

What we may think of as "old age"....is not old age.

 

It's actually difficult to find a truly normal, healthy horse anymore. 

 

But it can be done!
