Back in 2017 – which sounds like a lifetime ago, John Fonville helped commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation with a set of messages called the Five Solas.  It’s one of our favorite sets to play during this time of year.  Tradition says the Reformation began on October 31st, 1517 when Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the Door of Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany – He was simply trying to reform the Catholic Church in those days, and instead challenged a powerful and unbiblical system that worked hard to shut him down.  In turn it led to a series of debates and reforms in theology, interpretations and practice that we know and celebrate today in modern churches.  There’s a lot of gospel good news ahead for us and I hope you’ll enjoy this series either for the first time, or as a refresher.  Let’s press play on the first Sola – Which is Sola Scriptura.  That simply means, Scripture is Our Final Authority.
