conflictology
The Bible has something for everything we’re going through. It’s a very normal thing for every human being to experience the need for conflict resolution, whether it be with a friend, family member, or significant other. As Christians, we are called to place the Bible as our standard because it is the truth. Matthew 24:35 tells us, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” In this episode Lade breaks down the “Matthew 18 principle” to discuss how the Bible instructs us to go about resolving conflict as opposed to how the world would like us to go about it. As you’re listening allow the voice of God to correct the way you’ve handled conflict in your life. This episode from God is also a sign to give anyone you haven’t properly forgiven a call and resolve that conflict the right way, The Biblical Way.
“This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.”
Colossians 1:21-22 NLT
“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
Colossians 3:12-17 NLT
“But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.”
Colossians 3:25 NLT
