It's so easy to hear something but not really know it, or to know something in your head but have it not really change you. We are bombarded with information day in and day out. We hear a truth, we nod our heads, we may even write it down and it might even impact us deeply, but a few days later it's like it never really sank in. We gobble up so much information in our culture. We are swimming in information, but a lot of it leaks out because our minds just can't hold it all. So the goal of spiritual formation is not gathering information but undergoing transformation. And transformation does not happen at the speed of information. Transformation happens through immersion and repetition and reflection. Transformation happens when we are baptized in the truth, when we allow ourselves to marinate in the truth. Science calls this process neuroplasticity. This is the brain's ability to rewire itself based on what we focus on and practice and repeat. Scripture calls this process renewing the mind. Romans 12, verse 2, tells us this: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That word transformed is the Greek word metamorphoo. It's the same root word where we get our English word metamorphosis. So it's not just learning new ideas, it's becoming something entirely new. So when Paul says in Romans, be transformed by the renewing of your mind, he is not talking about tweaking your thoughts or consuming gobs of new information. Paul is talking about a deep, supernatural metamorphosis that rewires how we think, how we perceive, and how we live our lives. But this kind of transformation takes time. You cannot rush it. Just like seeds don't grow into trees overnight. Truth takes time and space to sink deep from your head into your heart and spirit. So give yourself grace and space in this process. We live in such a hurried culture, such an instant culture, but this deep work continues over your entire lifetime. This is a marathon, not a sprint. So, my friend, I gave you a lot of information over the past two days. I crammed you with some amazing truths about who you are, as a new creation and as a divine being. And if you have not listened to the past two days, I want you to go back and find Monday's episode called The Brand New You and Tuesday's episode called You Have Divinity in Your DNA. I want you to get those truths into your ears as a foundation for this episode today. So today's episode is about slowing down, creating space and marinating in those truths. We want to let those truths reshape the way we live and move and have our being in this world. We want to let those truths wash over us and sink down deep into them. We want to move those truths from our head down into our heart and our spirit. So this episode is going to be different. This is meant to be an immersive experience, and you will get the most out of this if you can listen in a quiet space where you'll be uninterrupted for a while, and if you can close your eyes and listen to this episode with headphones on, that's even better. So if you need to go ahead and hit pause and get yourself set up for the best listening experience, don't worry, I'll wait.
Michele:Today is a good day to let yourself slow down, be loved, and have an encounter with the one who adores you and who is always for you. So settle in and take a deep breath in and breathe out, and with each breath, imagine yourself stepping out of the noise of the world and into a sacred space, a place where heaven touches earth. This is a safe place, a sacred place. You have been crucified with Christ. You no longer live, but Christ lives in you. Galatians 2:20. You have been crucified with Christ. You no longer live, but Christ lives in you.
Michele:Step into a moment of wonder. Imagine yourself standing in front of a mirror. But this is no ordinary mirror. This mirror reflects your true identity, your divinity. As you gaze at yourself in this mirror, your reflection begins to shift. You see a glow emanating from within you, a radiant light, the very presence of Christ alive in you. Your eyes are filled with wisdom, your heart is filled with fire. Your posture is strong with confidence. Your hands are open and overflowing with grace. You are love embodied. Every trace of shame and doubt and guilt and self-hate and unworthiness, every trace is dissolving away. The longer you linger in front of this mirror, the more you look like Jesus.
Michele:Breathe. Now, ask yourself what would my life look like if I moved through the world as this person? How would I speak? How would I love? How would I work and care for my family? How would I live knowing that the atmosphere of heaven is not just around me but inside of me? Breathe. Now, in your imagination
Michele:step forward, right into the mirror. As you do, feel yourself becoming that divine reflection. You are not just observing this person anymore. You are becoming this person. This is becoming your reality. Christ's divine nature is alive in you like a heavenly electricity, and you can hardly contain your joy. Your whole being wells up with joy unspeakable, because your overwhelming gratitude overflows for this indescribable gift. Breathe and feel the presence of God surrounding you and filling you.
Michele:Now, place your hand on your heart and say this: I have divinity in my DNA. Christ himself lives in me. The fully alive life of Jesus is alive in me. Breathe. And in this place, it feels almost too good to be true, but it's true. So take a moment to just rest in this place, sit in the stillness and the sacredness of this moment, let it sink in deep. You are not working at this. You are resting and you're simply letting the work be done in you. Breathe. Now, when you're ready, gently open your eyes, wiggle your fingers and toes a little bit. That helps bring you back into this present time and space. Take another deep breath in and out. Now go and enjoy the rest of your day, knowing that you encounter every moment of your day as a divine being, fully alive in Jesus.
