[00:00:00] Allie: Welcome to the next episode of Conspiracy. Happy hour everyone. Yay. And as you can see, we are not alone.
[00:00:09] Dann B.: And we're virtual
[00:00:11] Allie: yeah. It's virtual. Yes. We have a next . We have our next guest for conspiracy. Happy hour everybody. Welcome, Dan. Second,
[00:00:19] Dann B.: Woo.
[00:00:21] Allie: Yay.
[00:00:22] Dan T.: Yay. Second, Dan. Perfect nickname.
[00:00:24] Dann B.: Our, the conspiracy for conspiracy happy hour is that everyone will be Dan at the end. Alison
[00:00:31] Allie: No, I'll be like, Danielle.
[00:00:34] Dann B.: There you go. It
[00:00:35] Allie: you go.
[00:00:36] Dan T.: Perfect.
[00:00:37] Dann B.: It counts.
[00:00:38] Allie: Is this our first guest episode where we've actually recorded, or just the first guest episode where we are doing it this way?
[00:00:47] Dann B.: Recorded
[00:00:48] Allie: the last one? No, I mean, sorry. Like the video recording.
yeah. Anthony was recorded.
[00:00:54] Allie: Okay. Very
[00:00:55] Dann B.: was there. He was on the casting couch.
[00:00:58] Allie: Yes.[00:01:00]
[00:01:00] Dann B.: But yeah, this is, this will be our first episode of the new year. We're entering the new year,
[00:01:07] Allie: Yeah, and I think during our last, I think during our last recording we ended up saying that that one was our first one also accidentally.
[00:01:14] Dann B.: Well, we also, yeah,
[00:01:16] Allie: that was a lie. This will be our first
[00:01:18] Dann B.: is our first one,
[00:01:19] Allie: 2023. You know what, I've actually had people asking me, they're like, did you guys take a break or something? I don't think we actually announced it on a podcast that
[00:01:30] Dann B.: We didn't, we just disappeared.
[00:01:31] Allie: was just at our Instagram though. If you don't follow our Instagram, that is your fault. You know who I'm talking
[00:01:36] Dann B.: there's a peeping tin in the, in the queue trying to get into the stream.
[00:01:42] Allie: That's weird,
[00:01:43] Allie: He's not allowed in. This is our podcast, . But yeah, welcome Dan. I know you're a fan. You're welcome, . Thank you Dan. I'm really excited to hear the story.
[00:01:54] Dann B.: I am too. We don't know anything about it. Dan, we won't. I won't tell him, tell you guys where [00:02:00] he lives, but he does not live locally, so that's why we're doing this virtually.
[00:02:03] Dann B.: So this is our first virtual and it is our first virtual episode, and it's our next guest episode, as if you probably couldn't tell so.
[00:02:11] Allie: Wait, I have a really funny story to tell you. Can I tell my. There's a cat yelling at the door. so I was out with my aunt today for just a lunch, just cause we haven't seen each other in a while. And she brought her three grandkids, which are my cousin's kids. and I think the youngest, maybe seven.
[00:02:28] Allie: He's in first grade, so however old that's supposed to be. But we were talking about, I said, I really wanna go back to Disney World. I miss it. Don't you wanna go back? Like go see Mickey Mouse and stuff. He goes, can I tell you, I was watching YouTube and did you know that there's a secret underground tunnel in Disney World and there's a Disney jail?
[00:02:52] Allie: I was like, ah, conspiracies. He's starting Young
[00:02:55] Dann B.: Yes. Next guest on the pod.
[00:02:58] Allie: right? [00:03:00] That'll be an interesting one. It'll be like,
[00:03:03] Dann B.: I have heard about the tunnels, but I don't think it's a conspiracy. I think it's just how the staff gets around
[00:03:08] Allie: Yeah, but I didn't know there was a Disney jail
[00:03:11] Dann B.: I did. Well, there's a, there's mall jail, so I'm not really too surprised, but,
[00:03:15] Allie: Yeah.
[00:03:16] Dann B.: but that's cool.
[00:03:17] Allie: I just thought it was really funny. He's like already into that stuff. He's like, I was
[00:03:21] Dann B.: to look into.
[00:03:22] Allie: Yeah, right. I our next
[00:03:24] Dan T.: jail.
[00:03:26] Dann B.: I know. So Dan, you're, you brought us a story today.
[00:03:30] Dan T.: Are we jumping straight into like the conspiracy?
[00:03:32] Dann B.: not yet, but you brought us our story like Allison.
[00:03:37] Dan T.: did I bring you?
[00:03:37] Allie: keep, keep in mind whatever the story is, you have to think of something that goes along with that story. So we can name our cocktail.
[00:03:46] Dann B.: Yes.
[00:03:47] Allie: have to name it at the end of this episode. You have to come up with a name for it.
[00:03:50] Dann B.: And since you are, are a Southern friend, even though you're not in the south,
[00:03:54] Dan T.: Yeah, it's not quite the South. Not
[00:03:56] Allie: more southern than
[00:03:56] Dann B.: So, I don't know, Allison, since we're, it's a little [00:04:00] hard to see. Do you wanna describe what we, our drink is, it's really basic today.
[00:04:06] Allie: No, because they have to subscribe to the
[00:04:08] Dann B.: Oh, that's right. You can't, you can't know. Secrets
[00:04:11] Allie: no, I'm not
[00:04:12] Dann B.: I'm really bad at the secret part. yeah, so
[00:04:16] Allie: an image, but that's as much as you're getting from
[00:04:18] Dann B.: there you go. It's red. It's actually just Fruit Punch
[00:04:21] Allie: Yeah.
[00:04:22] Dann B.: So Dan is our friend from the interwebs. He's a friend of the pod, friend of the, of Gecko's Media in general. He's a part of. Few other podcasts or I don't know if they all fall under the ham podd umbrella or not. There's so many of 'em.
[00:04:40] Dan T.: I just kind of guessed around wherever people ask me to go.
[00:04:43] Dann B.: Exactly, and that's what, that's why we like Dan and he is like, I like conspiracies. I was like, you're a guest.
[00:04:51] Dan T.: well, I, I just enjoy listening to it, you know? nobody wants to be part of one. Oh, I believe, oh, I believe hundred percent. Every single one you guys say. I'm like, oh, that's [00:05:00] true.
[00:05:00] Allie: yeah. I, it could have happened for sure. Government coverup,
[00:05:04] Dann B.: sway, no swaying whatsoever. It's just like, yep. Mm-hmm.
[00:05:08] Dan T.: Yep. Nope, that's
[00:05:09] Dann B.: That is a fact. Those birds are
[00:05:11] Dan T.: Listen, I heard, I heard it on the.
[00:05:14] Dann B.: and the internet doesn't lie.
[00:05:16] Allie: my glass. Don't mind me I'm like, every five seconds you, me, licking my finger.
[00:05:22] Dan T.: Well, you know, it's, it's like famous President Abraham Lincoln once said, if it's on the internet, it must be true.
[00:05:27] Dann B.: Mm-hmm.
[00:05:28] Dan T.: So
[00:05:29] Dann B.: Very
[00:05:30] Allie: don't know if I agree with that. there's a lot of things on the internet I don't think are quite true.
[00:05:35] Dan T.: no. Yeah, that's fair. A hundred percent fair.
[00:05:36] Dann B.: Like
[00:05:37] Dan T.: Except, you know, yeah. I like Lincoln
[00:05:41] Dann B.: who knows? Maybe he,
[00:05:42] Allie: said that
[00:05:44] Dann B.: yes.
[00:05:45] Dan T.: yeah.
[00:05:46] Allie: I, I need to catch up.
[00:05:48] Dann B.: Yeah. He, maybe he was, he was handing out his pamphlets. The first Wikipedia page was a literal page,
[00:05:55] Dan T.: <LAUGH>
[00:05:56] Allie: Yeah,
[00:05:56] Dan T.: four score. And seven years ago [00:06:00] the internet was
[00:06:00] Allie: out, yeah, we came up with the
[00:06:02] Dann B.: that bitch
[00:06:04] Allie: Oh my God,
[00:06:07] Dann B.: but yeah. What else? What else do you like to do, Dan, in your spare time, what do you wanna tell the audience of of, of Tim
[00:06:14] Dan T.: no. Like if . Yeah. Tim, if you'd like to come over and listen to, the podcast that I'm on the most, it's Hammer of the God's Podcast, aka hand Pod. we are a, what do you call it? A real play
[00:06:24] Dann B.: I think so. I think
[00:06:25] Dan T.: we actually play and
[00:06:27] Allie: you would know more than me, Dan.
[00:06:28] Dann B.: It's not geckos . It's not
[00:06:30] Dan T.: It's definitely not Geckos
[00:06:32] Dann B.: They actually play by the rules . We do not.
[00:06:35] Dan T.: yeah. Actual play apparently, according to the peeping Tim. So
[00:06:40] Dann B.: Is he commenting?
[00:06:41] Dann B.: play podcast based on like an idea of like Greek mythology. A live
[00:06:44] Dan T.: we're in is called New Alexandria. So
[00:06:47] Dann B.: That's fun. And you can find that on all the podcasting apps, right?
[00:06:52] Dan T.: Spotify and anchor.fm and I'm sure others that Rick would be like, Hey, why didn't you say this one? And I'll be like, I don't know man. I
[00:06:59] Allie: can [00:07:00] list it all in the description of the post and stuff, so don't worry. We got you
[00:07:03] Dan T.: Perfect. Thank you. Thank you.
[00:07:05] Allie: Oh wait, I forgot. Hold on. Lemme put on my acting face for a second. Ready?
[00:07:09] Dann B.: That's true peeping Tim says, and get goes media.com.
[00:07:11] Allie: my God. You guys sound amazing. Where did you get your microphones from? I was told to ask that
[00:07:18] Dann B.: Oh,
[00:07:19] Dan T.: Oh gosh, mine just showed up one day. I don't know who I think it was Santa
[00:07:25] Allie: Santa. Yeah.
[00:07:26] Dan T.: mine. Mine came from Santa.
[00:07:28] Dann B.: Yeah. Tim is, Tim is a, Tim is a great friend.
[00:07:33] Allie: to pay credit. Oh no, I can't hear
[00:07:35] Dan T.: Oh no. Oh no. We lost you.
[00:07:36] Allie: Sorry, I just accidentally muted myself. I'm not gonna touch the microphone anymore. Good idea. We're still getting used to this setup up
[00:07:44] Dann B.: Tim's gif. Tim's gif Tim's gift is dumb. It's too high tech. It has a meat button on it, but
[00:07:50] Dan T.: Yeah.
[00:07:50] Dann B.: yes, he, he's very, he's very generous with his gifts. But his gifts are selfish cuz he says we all sound dead.
[00:07:57] Allie: Yeah, he doesn't do it from all of his, he [00:08:00] doesn't do it for himself. He does it so he can do something with you later on. That's, although I will say this is the first time I've ever used his microphone down here. It's pretty good. Like I'm sitting, like, I'm not on the microphone
[00:08:12] Dann B.: Mm-hmm. . I'll have to take that one out to the chair.
[00:08:16] Allie: What?
[00:08:16] Dann B.: I said we'll have to take that one out to the chair. Steal it.
[00:08:20] Allie: Oh,
[00:08:20] Dann B.: we record record
[00:08:21] Allie: Yeah. On our fan teachers, I, we need to do something better with that setup. I like this setup better than when we sit out there. I'm just
[00:08:30] Dann B.: nice. It is nice. We have,
[00:08:32] Allie: should do 'em all remotely. It'll be so much easier to find time to record also.
[00:08:36] Dann B.: I mean, I'm down for that. We have some, we have a nice backdrop, conspiracy. Happy hour,
[00:08:40] Allie: I know. Look at this. Wait, no wrong way. This. This way, I can't find the right spot, so my hands are all over, but this will be up.
[00:08:51] Allie: I do wanna just say this episode is getting released while we will be at Mag Fest. So [00:09:00] we are going to be recording somewhere. Like probably on the floor at some 0.1 of those days. So if you are listening to this and you are at Mag Fest in National Harbor, please come find us cuz we would love to have a couple of our guests coming up, people watching, listening, just come up and talk.
[00:09:20] Allie: Yeah. Fans. I didn't wanna say that word cause it just doesn't sound right. not, yeah. So we
[00:09:26] Dann B.: we can get some passers by that will come and say a few things. I don't know.
[00:09:31] Allie: us and just like come up and be like, okay, I'll talk with
[00:09:34] Dann B.: Instead of collecting money, we're like, help me, I'm poor. We're like, be on our podcast.
[00:09:39] Dann B.: Yes. I am going to be making some stickers for the thing and some magnets also. So we'll give out some stuff and And if you're, if you're there, I'll probably be wearing my sweatshirt.
[00:09:51] Allie: Ooh, you got your sweatshirt on again. See, I was thinking about it, but like technically the next two episodes I'm gonna be wearing that sweatshirt. So I was like, eh, third time in a row might [00:10:00] be a little overkill. I do clean it, but I
[00:10:03] Dann B.: No one needs to know
[00:10:06] Allie: but I clean it or wash it.
[00:10:08] Dann B.: Yeah. No one cares.
[00:10:09] Allie: just, everybody thinks it's all dirty all the time.
[00:10:11] Dann B.: I haven't watched mine yet.
Oh, I just did, but at the same time, I haven't done laundry in like two weeks, three weeks. So my hamper was starting to pile high.
[00:10:19] Dann B.: Yeah. My whole work is off except for me. So this week
[00:10:25] Allie: They took off or.
[00:10:26] Dann B.: yeah, they all took off. Everyone's out of office. So like this whole week has been me just doing things around my apartment. So tomorrow's laundry day and we do laundry.
[00:10:36] Allie: Yeah, it's been kind of nice. There hasn't been too much work to do. Nobody is asking me for stuff and that's fine with me cuz I can get some of my own shit done. So Dan, have you been working still remote or do you work in the office? I have to find a new way to say this cuz I'm talking to Dan t and not you.
[00:10:54] Allie: Dan. Dan
[00:10:55] Dann B.: I,
[00:10:56] Dan T.: I'm, I'm other Dan I can change my screen name to other Dan if you'd like[00:11:00]
[00:11:01] Allie: I will, I, I can't even point bottom, Dan and top Dan. That's how it . That's how it
[00:11:10] Dan T.: wait,
[00:11:13] Dann B.: On top
[00:11:18] Allie: You know what, when I said it, it sounded better in my head.
[00:11:21] Dann B.: Well, I'm glad that's been on, that's been, preserved in the record, so
[00:11:27] Dan T.: Oh
[00:11:27] Dann B.: whichever.
[00:11:28] Allie: do you, do you still work from home or are you in the office or wherever?
[00:11:33] Dan T.: so out here where I'm at? Cause I, I'm not obviously from where you guys are. Well, it's, it's Missouri. Oh God.
[00:11:40] Allie: Oh my god. Not everybody's gonna find your address
[00:11:43] Dann B.: Oh no. There's only
[00:11:44] Dan T.: Missouri,
[00:11:44] Dann B.: three towns in Missouri.
[00:11:47] Dan T.: Yeah, only three in the whole state. but out here we didn't really do the remote
[00:11:52] Allie: Oh, really?
[00:11:53] Dan T.: No. Out here. People were like, COVID, ah, get fucked. You know? Can I say that [00:12:00] on here? I think I can say
[00:12:00] Allie: Oh yeah. Oh
[00:12:01] Dan T.: You know, so, basically it was just like, show up to work or lose your fucking job.
[00:12:05] Allie: Really?
[00:12:06] Dan T.: Yeah. That's, that's how it was here. So, I mean, I'm sure there were some organizations that, you know, went remote and things like that. By and far here in Missouri it was, you were still in the office. so I never really got the luxury of doing the whole remote work thing. I did have a job for a minute that was kind of hybrid, where some days I could work remote if I wanted to, but most of the time I was in, in the office.
[00:12:25] Dan T.: So it was great, great times.
[00:12:28] Allie: Well, I mean, do you have a big comp? Like do you have a lot of people who are in the office or is it just like three of you?
yeah, no, it's, it's, there's quite a few of us. There's like
[00:12:34] Allie: Okay. So at least there's like communication people to talk to and stuff,
[00:12:39] Dan T.: Yeah. Yeah. No, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. So it's nice.
[00:12:42] Allie: Mm-hmm. , I think our whole, yeah, the whole. Covid time when everything shut down. We only saw Dan, Dan came over and like, we would just live with Dan pretty much because y my family didn't wanna see me, so, and his family didn't wanna see him.
[00:12:59] Allie: [00:13:00] So we were like, you know what?
[00:13:01] Dann B.: My mom's like, I'm canceling Easter. And I was like, okay.
[00:13:04] Allie: I said to my mom,
[00:13:05] Dann B.: Yeah,
[00:13:06] Allie: we had you still together.
[00:13:07] Dann B.: We had Easter together.
[00:13:10] Allie: Dan made alcoholic punch. So it was fair trade.
[00:13:14] Dan T.: When, when I hear stories like that from, from like your guys' perspective, it's, it's always wild to me to think about that, here in Missouri. Like life almost didn't even,
[00:13:21] Dann B.: Didn't change.
[00:13:22] Dan T.: change at all. Nah, nah,
[00:13:24] Dann B.: so, it's crazy cuz everything changed here. Nothing
[00:13:28] Allie: were
[00:13:29] Dann B.: everyth. The only thing you could go to was a grocery store, a gas station and like the pharmacy. And then no one was on the road. It was, it looked like the apocalypse happened because all the roads were clear
[00:13:44] Dan T.: I, I imagine that'd be really, really strange up there, especially, I'm sure you guys have a hell of a lot more traffic than I deal with. but yeah, I remember I, I was working in a different town than I lived in at the time. . And so I would drive to work and there would, there wouldn't be anybody, but like, it wasn't like super weird, but
[00:13:59] Dann B.: know, when you're driving through [00:14:00] fields and cows, you know, it's not that different.
[00:14:02] Dan T.: yeah, , no, you make that joke.
[00:14:04] Dan T.: But I, I used to live like an hour from work and I had to drive through fields and cows and all that shit,
[00:14:10] Dann B.: they're so
[00:14:10] Allie: mean, the same cows, they, the cows didn't like wear masks or anything, so it wasn't too different.
[00:14:16] Dan T.: they didn't do
[00:14:17] Dann B.: cows sitting, social distance,
[00:14:19] Allie: can't drink their milk anymore.
[00:14:22] Dan T.: Yeah. No, nothing really changed here though. So, Missouri's weird. Missouri's very strange.
[00:14:26] Allie: See, that's so like, I mean like were stores allowed to stay open there.
[00:14:30] Dan T.: Oh yeah, yeah. No,
[00:14:32] Allie: I thought that was like a like mandate from like the president or whatever
[00:14:36] Allie: sh You try telling a missourian to do anything. We, we don't listen to shit No. Like, I mean, there were, there were some places, I'm sure if I, if I was to go back and really think about it, that were closed. but for instance, at the time I worked for a solar installer, I did that for seven years. like the door to door is like sailing it's, or sale sales and stuff like that? Or do you not have that?
[00:14:56] Dan T.: we did, not quite in the same,
[00:14:58] Allie: because I was like, for you guys, you probably have [00:15:00] to drive door to door instead of like walk down the street and just go house. House
[00:15:04] Dan T.: Yeah. No, it was a lot more like, we had a team of people who would call and set appointments and things like that, and then we'd send a salesman out to their house and they would sell 'em or not sell 'em anyway. but yeah, like that was considered essential for some reason. the city government or state government or whatever, deemed it as part of a utility, which was really strange.
[00:15:18] Dan T.: Cause we weren't really a utility, but whatever, you know? So , you know, and,
[00:15:22] Dann B.: I guess, cuz some people may rely on their solar panels. I don't know.
[00:15:27] Dan T.: I guess, yeah, nobody
[00:15:29] Allie: I don't know. It's a good
[00:15:30] Dann B.: Who knows.
[00:15:32] Dan T.: anyway, but yeah, so nothing really
[00:15:33] Dann B.: All I know is the highlight of my week was going to the grocery store.
[00:15:37] Allie: to see people. I was praying to get like furloughed or whatever. because I had all these, like, I'm, I'm still working and everything like that. Never got laid off, never got furloughed, anything like that. So knock on wood in a way, but everybody who did get laid off was collecting even more than their normal paycheck.
[00:15:56] Allie: And I'm like, come on, I'm over here working. You're over there playing like video [00:16:00] games at home every day and you're making more than me . So I was like, what the hell?
[00:16:05] Dan T.: Yeah, no, for sure. cuz I, I did know a couple people who were in that boat where they got laid. and no, it wasn't, it wasn't widespread. But, I remember they were pulling, like you said, like they were pulling in like bank and I was, I was still just like
[00:16:16] Allie: be like, set for life.
[00:16:18] Dan T.: Yeah.
[00:16:19] Allie: Tell me how that's fair. I don't know. I did appreciate the fact that gas was so cheap at the time though. Like I was paying like a dollar or something per gallon. I was
[00:16:28] Dann B.: Yeah. It was so cheap.
[00:16:30] Allie: Yeah.
[00:16:31] Dan T.: we got to under a dollar per gallon here.
[00:16:33] Allie: Wow.
[00:16:34] Dan T.: Yeah, I took a picture of it cause I was like, I will never see this again in my lifetime.
[00:16:38] Allie: No, probably not. Do you have like a, do you use like the regular or do you have like a vehicle that uses like diesel or whatever?
[00:16:45] Dan T.: I live in Missouri. I drove a 30 year old pickup truck. Okay.
[00:16:48] Allie: So regular.
[00:16:49] Dan T.: just regular old dinosaur, you
[00:16:51] Allie: Well, every
[00:16:52] Dan T.: regular old gas.
[00:16:54] Allie: every time I see anybody talking about it, they're like the only people I ever see other than truckers who use [00:17:00] diesel, like gas, whatever. It's like people like, In the farm areas, but I guess it might be the tractors and stuff too. I don't know.
[00:17:09] Dan T.: Could be. Yeah. No.
[00:17:11] Dann B.: with
[00:17:11] Allie: glad I don't have to use it though.
[00:17:14] Dan T.: Yeah. Diesel's. Diesel's. A little bit outrageous for sure.
[00:17:16] Allie: Mm-hmm.
[00:17:17] Dann B.: it lasts longer.
[00:17:19] Allie: oh my
[00:17:19] Dan T.: It does. It does. It does. It does. Last longer.
[00:17:23] Dann B.: Okay. Well with all that talk about gas prices, should we get into the conspiracy
[00:17:29] Allie: Oh my God. Cool.
[00:17:30] Dann B.: we watch Allison have an attack,
[00:17:34] Allie: Lord. Yeah, let's do it. We don't even have to do rock, paper, scissor. Shoot this
[00:17:38] Dann B.: No, it's all Dan
[00:17:41] Dan T.: Oh, it's all me.
[00:17:42] Allie: It's all you.
[00:17:43] Dann B.: Now we're we're just
[00:17:44] Allie: Pressure is on my friend.
[00:17:45] Dann B.: We're just here for the
[00:17:46] Dan T.: pressure. Oh, no.
[00:17:47] Dann B.: That's all you get from us. That's all you
[00:17:49] Allie: Oh.
[00:17:50] Dan T.: pressure, the, the pressure was too much and my internet shut down. Oh no.
[00:17:53] Dann B.: Oh, no.
[00:17:54] Dan T.: Where the fuck did that teddy bear come from?
[00:17:58] Dann B.: Well,
yeah.
[00:17:59] Dann B.: you get [00:18:00] killed by a possessed teddy bear, it'll be on camera.
[00:18:02] Dan T.: I have never seen this. I'm in my office and I've never seen a teddy bear in here, ever.
[00:18:06] Dan T.: Well, it's mine in my wife's office, but I've never seen a teddy bear in here before. But there's a fucking teddy bear over there. so I'm gonna have to ask her. I'm gonna have to ask her about that in a moment.
[00:18:12] Dann B.: She's spying on you. She's spying on you.
[00:18:15] Dann B.: probably. well anyway, yes. Peeping Sarah is what it would be. As long as the head does, the head doesn't start spinning. I think we'll be okay. The little peeping, Tim.
[00:18:23] Allie: There we go. Now people can see what we're actually talking about. All right, let's do this. Go ahead, Dan.
[00:18:29] Allie: Okay, perfect. Well, so, the more I thought about this, I wanted to do something. specific to my region. Right. Give you guys maybe something from over here. I mean, it's not like we're that far away. It's like 20 hours. It's not super far. It's still far
[00:18:41] Dann B.: If it's not on the East coast, it doesn't exist.
[00:18:44] Dan T.: that's funny. Tim. Tim has said pretty much the same thing,
[00:18:47] Dann B.: If it's not on this coast or that coast, the the flyover states are just like
[00:18:51] Allie: Yeah.
[00:18:52] Dan T.: Wow.
[00:18:53] Allie: Tim doesn't go outside of his bubble though,
[00:18:55] Dann B.: Tim doesn't leave his house and take whatever he says with a grain of salt.
[00:18:59] Dan T.: He, [00:19:00] he leaves his house to pl Nevermind. . . I get his snaps. Okay.
[00:19:04] Allie: Unfortunately we all do
[00:19:06] Dan T.: Oh man. Okay. So basically I got to dig in, and I was gonna do Momo. Our Momo, we have a completely different Momo than you
[00:19:14] Dann B.: Oh, that would've been
[00:19:15] Dan T.: So when, when you all posted your version of Momo, I got super stoked because I was like,
[00:19:21] Allie: thought it was yours?
[00:19:22] Dan T.: was like, there's no way that they know about Momo, right? So then I was gonna do Momo and like the Ozarks howler and things like that.
[00:19:28] Dan T.: And then I was like, ah, I don't know if that fits in. It probably would have. but I decided to stay away from that cause you guys have already done a Momo and I
[00:19:33] Allie: Well, maybe, yeah, maybe after this we could do like a separate like 10 minute side video and we could use Do Your Momo and then we could post that onto our Patreon. For our Patreon listeners, some bonus content.
[00:19:48] Dan T.: sure. Yeah, that'd be totally fine. so anyway, I, I decided to avoid Momo and then I wound up settling on a, it's kind of a conspiracy, kind of an unsolved mystery murder
[00:19:59] Allie: Ooh, love [00:20:00] that. Okay.
[00:20:00] Allie: Sign me up,
[00:20:01] Allie: Yeah. it happened back in the eighties. They still don't know who did it, happened in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri. Yeah, it's a super great name. We've got some really interesting town names out this way. I'm sure you guys do too. More so in pa,
[00:20:15] Dann B.: are more weird in the sense of, not weird, I shouldn't say that. They're more like Indian or like . It's not like, it's not like what? Like, there's like the weird names out west. It's like Desus or like all those like, like like Manna Hawkin and like Rakas . Like,
[00:20:34] Allie: yeah.
[00:20:35] Dan T.: We have, let's see, Frankenstein, Missouri, we
[00:20:38] Allie: that
[00:20:39] Dan T.: Tightwad, Missouri.
[00:20:41] Allie: tight wad.
[00:20:42] Dan T.: tight wa Yeah, we we've got some interesting town names, right? Yeah. No, exactly. Yeah. So there's, there's some interesting town names out here, but this one just happens to take place in Skidmore. it occurred back in the eighties, 1981 actually.
and it revolves around the murder of a man that has, was never solved, they've never solved who killed him. his [00:21:00] name are we allowed to say names on here, is.
[00:21:02] Allie: I mean, yeah,
[00:21:03] Dan T.: Public knowledge. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So his name was Ken McElroy. And
[00:21:08] Dann B.: him
[00:21:10] Dan T.: well, he's dead. So
[00:21:12] Allie: You're not telling him shit.
[00:21:14] Dan T.: basically, he was a, just a Missouri dude.
[00:21:17] Dan T.: He's kind of known as a town bully. And by kind of, I mean, they definitely thought he was the bully of the town. if he wanted anything, he just took it. He didn't care. He stole, he robbed, he beat people up. anything he could do.
[00:21:27] Allie: So it's definitely a motive for the situation, probably.
[00:21:31] Dan T.: Oh, probably
it sounds like he had some enemies.
[00:21:35] Allie: just
[00:21:36] Dan T.: He sounds like he had a whole town of enemies, to be honest. but you know, he was, basically killed, after he went to, he'd been beaten his wife essentially. and by essentially, I mean that's, that's what happened. and the police wouldn't do anything about it. Everybody, cuz everybody was scared of this guy.
[00:21:49] Dan T.: Like nobody wanted to mess with him.
[00:21:50] Allie: So they wouldn't do anything about him beating his wife
[00:21:53] Dan T.: Nope. he was accused of raping, he was accused of, murder a couple of times, and of course multiple times robbery. and none of the police or [00:22:00] sheriffs or anything had anything to do with it. he also went, he did go to court a couple times for some of his stuff that he did, but his lawyer would get him out every single time, get him off the hook.
[00:22:10] Dan T.: So
[00:22:11] Allie: he stole, he had a very, buildup could pay for a wealthy lawyer.
[00:22:17] Dan T.: Yeah, definitely. so I'm trying to find exactly what the other, okay, so then the other family that he wound up feuding with was the bo They were called the Bowen Camps, and they owned a grocery store in his town. they had accused his daughter of shoplifting, which kind of falls right from his tree of being, you know, a criminal.
unfortunately for her, he. Went down to the shop and started to, you know, terrorize. The, the old man who owned, the old man was in his seventies, who had accused his daughter of, of, of shoplifting, basically went down there and terrorized them, made them, you know, tell 'em that they weren't safe, even with their own house, things like that.
[00:22:49] Dan T.: Typical, like Missouri criminal things, kinda like the mob, but you know, hillbilly, so
[00:22:55] Dann B.: It's
[00:22:55] Allie: gonna like poison your crop and stuff.
[00:22:59] Dan T.: Oh, definitely,
[00:22:59] Allie: Oh,[00:23:00]
[00:23:00] Dan T.: It definitely would've, yeah.
[00:23:02] Dann B.: Nice wholesome
[00:23:03] Dan T.: So he was murdered in 81, or he, well, if you wanna call it murdered. but in, in
[00:23:09] Allie: of unknown causes,
[00:23:12] Allie: in 1980, he had shot the, one of the bone camps. The, the owner of the 70 year old man, he had shot him in the neck and he had survived. pretty guilty of this shit too.
[00:23:22] Dan T.: Yeah.
[00:23:24] Dann B.: Is this kind of almost like a Hatfield in McCoy type situ.
[00:23:28] Dan T.: Kind of, but like between one man and a grocery store. So kind of like me and Walmart,
[00:23:32] Dann B.: That's so funny.
[00:23:33] Dann B.: took the battle to the store.
[00:23:35] Dan T.: yeah, it was like a whole thing. basically. And then in 1981, he was found dead in his truck. and he had been shot twice by two different guns. a tw, I don't know if you guys are big into firearms or not, but a 22 caliber rifle and an eight millimeter mauser rifle, two very different weapons.
and there were, ballistics proved later that there were definitely two gunmen who shot him, and there were about 45 people from the town around and none of [00:24:00] them claim to have seen anybody do anything whenever it happened.
[00:24:03] Allie: Mm-hmm.
[00:24:03] Dan T.: So that's kind of the whole conspiracy story that I have. I, you know, I don't have a whole lot of, a whole lot of information about it, unfortunately, just because Missouri is so tight-lipped about everything yeah, we're very, it's very, listen,
[00:24:17] Allie: Didn't see anything
[00:24:18] Dan T.: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:24:20] Allie: me tell you,
[00:24:21] Dann B.: Don't mess with the
[00:24:22] Dan T.: may get a knock on my door just for talking about this, but the point of the, the, the whole point of the, the conspiracy with him, the unsolved murder is that nobody knows who did it. It's been over 30 years, obviously. Cause that was 81, so that would've been, what, almost 40 years ago now. still nobody's ever come forward to say who killed him.
at this point it's, you know, probably never gonna happen. actually it was 46 witnesses who were there, who claimed to, had not seen
[00:24:43] Dann B.: All grocery store employees.
[00:24:46] Allie: when you say witnesses, like it was in the grocery store that he was shot.
[00:24:51] Dan T.: It was, he was shot, he was found in his truck.
[00:24:54] Allie: So then how do they know if there are like witnesses? If like they said they didn't see anything and like are there [00:25:00] cameras, like surveillance cameras of the area?
[00:25:02] Dan T.: So that's fair. That's a fair point. they were all inside of a tavern that he was at right before he got shot.
[00:25:08] Dann B.: Hmm.
[00:25:09] Dan T.: Yeah.
[00:25:10] Dann B.: How
[00:25:11] Dan T.: So,
[00:25:11] Allie: So
[00:25:12] Dann B.: the grocery store doesn't have any cameras in their parking lot.
[00:25:17] Dan T.: Probably not 40 years ago, not in Missouri.
[00:25:19] Allie: did he get shot? Like in an alley next to this bar, or did he get shot like in the parking lot of the bar, the tavern?
[00:25:29] Dan T.: So they, okay, so basic, oh, well, I, I skipped a whole important part. Oh my gosh. After , after he shot the, after he shot the old man in the. , right? The, the store owner, he shot the old man in the neck.
[00:25:41] Allie: Okay.
and the guy survived. the town held like a town meeting, an impromptu town meeting. And after they convened the meeting, the whole group that was in the town meeting went down to the tavern.
[00:25:51] Dan T.: And then moments later, he was found dead in his truck shot.
[00:25:54] Allie: Oh, so
[00:25:55] Dan T.: Yeah, sir. I skipped that whole part.
[00:25:56] Allie: like the same like week or so.
[00:25:59] Dan T.: [00:26:00] Yeah. So I skipped that whole part. but anyway, that's, that's important. So, everybody listening,
[00:26:05] Dann B.: So it sounds like the whole town was in cahoots,
[00:26:08] Allie: Yeah,
[00:26:09] Dan T.: that's, that's basically the conspiracy theory is that they all got together. They decided that they'd had enough of this man ruining their lives, and so they took it into their own hands because the law would not, and
[00:26:19] Allie: he had a daughter. Right?
[00:26:21] Dan T.: he did have a
[00:26:21] Allie: did he have like, I guess a wife and like more family?
[00:26:25] Dan T.: He had a wife, he actually had 10 kids
[00:26:27] Allie: Oh my God.
[00:26:28] Dan T.: he himself was the 15th out of 16 children.
[00:26:32] Dann B.: Mm.
[00:26:33] Allie: So he had a huge family. Now, did anybody like ever say to this guy, like from his family, like, dude, like chill people are gonna try to kill you, . Like if I was in his family and stuff, like I'd be scared to death of him.
[00:26:44] Dann B.: slow your roll.
[00:26:45] Dan T.: I don't, I don't imagine, I don't imagine anybody did. they may have, but there's, I've never found any kind of inclination or any note notification or
[00:26:53] Allie: if they like miss him or if they're a part of the 45 who are not saying a word All right. [00:27:00] Sh. Somebody killed dad. We know who did it, but
[00:27:02] Dann B.: yeah, maybe it was an inside job. Like, go run down to the store for a gallon of milk, please.
[00:27:09] Allie: See? We're like building our own conspiracies around. That's, I love it.
[00:27:13] Dan T.: Yeah. Well, I mean, listen, that's the thing, right? You, that's, that's how conspiracies work.
[00:27:17] Dann B.: Yeah. It's the whole
[00:27:17] Dan T.: Somebody provides you a little bit of information and you make up your whole idea. So essentially though, he's just, he was just a bully and he got murdered and nobody knows who killed him. The theory is that the town, and it doesn't really sound like that much of a theory, honestly, that the town just decided they'd had enough, and so they just.
[00:27:34] Allie: Collaboratively or like, let's end him,
[00:27:37] Dan T.: Yeah. Can you imagine the whole town just coming together and being like, you know what? We really don't like Dan.
[00:27:42] Dann B.: I feel like
[00:27:43] Dan T.: imagine if all of J
[00:27:44] Allie: here.
[00:27:45] Dann B.: there.
[00:27:47] Dan T.: if all of Jersey was like, Hey, we heard that Dan doesn't like shopping at Target, and they just went and they were like, all right, well we've had enough of that shit.
[00:27:54] Allie: you know what? Oh, I just hit my microphone. Sorry. . Wham, no, I don't [00:28:00] disagree cuz I don't enjoy Target all that much either. They got Starbucks going for them, but that's it. I'm a Walmart.
[00:28:07] Dann B.: I shop at Walmart too.
[00:28:09] Allie: probably gonna get us canceled.
[00:28:11] Dann B.: We're we're South Jersey, so we're trash
[00:28:15] Dan T.: Well, I live in Missouri and pretty much all we have is Walmart. We have a target, but it's so overpriced that I don't go
[00:28:20] Allie: that's the thing anymore, they like got two big bridges, just really high heads and now everything and her ugly clothes anymore. Like I shop at Walmart half the time for my clothes too, so, but that's just me.
[00:28:32] Dan T.: So back to, to McElroy here. the other thing of it, if you guys want to know more, there was a book written about it called In Broad Daylight.
[00:28:41] Allie: Okay,
[00:28:42] Dan T.: And there's also a movie, well, not a movie, but like a miniseries called, no one Saw a Thing.
[00:28:49] Dann B.: Cool
[00:28:50] Allie: that on?
that's a good question. Let's see.
[00:28:53] Dann B.: here. Your
[00:28:54] Dan T.: Oh, I
[00:28:54] Allie: I'm writing that. Can you hear that?
[00:28:57] Dann B.: Yeah.
[00:28:58] Dan T.: Yeah.
[00:28:59] Dann B.: It was on [00:29:00] Sundance. Hmm? It was on Sundance and I'm sure it can be streamed somewhere.
[00:29:05] Dan T.: Yeah, it's gotta be somewhere, but it's, it's all about this story, and I'm sure they'll give you much more information than I can give you.
[00:29:13] Dann B.: There was a, I thought there, there was a, a 1991 film also called In Broad Daylight. I was like, that sound right when you said that book name. I was like, that sounds familiar. I'm on the Wiki. I'm on the wiki thanks to Abraham Lincoln, Skidmore, Missouri.
[00:29:27] Allie: Ooh. That's what we call the drink the skid more.
[00:29:31] Dann B.: It's not a bad name.
[00:29:32] Allie: Right? I like the.
[00:29:34] Dan T.: Perfect. But that's, that's pretty much the, the main. That's pretty much the, the, the main meat of the theory, of the idea of the story. like I said, it's not super, super exciting, but I thought it was interesting. and it's, it's one of those things,
[00:29:52] Dann B.: Everyone likes a good murder, and it's funny when a whole town is conspiring against you and even a local grocery store.
[00:29:58] Allie: It's like one of those little [00:30:00] hometown murders,
[00:30:00] Dann B.: Yeah. How far is Skidmore from you
[00:30:04] Dan T.: Skidmore is,
[00:30:06] Dann B.: revealing where you live?
[00:30:08] Dan T.: two and a half hours maybe.
[00:30:09] Dann B.: Okay.
[00:30:10] Allie: okay.
[00:30:12] Dan T.: Let's see. probably, probably three and a half
[00:30:14] Allie: Is that like one of those really small towns that have like the little convenience store and that's it,
[00:30:19] Dan T.: prob. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I bet we can figure out the population right
[00:30:22] Allie: probably 45 people in the entire town, not just from that meeting.
[00:30:25] Dann B.: it sounds like that the, the, that grocery store is probably like the only one, and that was, that's where everyone goes, so that's why everyone knew about it.
[00:30:34] Dan T.: As of as of 2020, the population was 257.
[00:30:38] Dann B.: Wow.
[00:30:39] Allie: My God,
[00:30:40] Dan T.: So that's like a
[00:30:42] Allie: I might have 257 people living on the street with me.
[00:30:46] Dann B.: Yeah,
[00:30:47] Dan T.: Oh, that
[00:30:48] Dann B.: Justin, your development. Oh, just in your development alone. There's probably more than that.
[00:30:53] Allie: houses. Yeah. Can I help you? My God. They're both up here now. Invasion of the cats.[00:31:00]
[00:31:00] Dann B.: No, so cute.
[00:31:01] Dan T.: That was strong. But yeah, so that, that's it. That was my conspiracy idea. Whoa, my mic just hit me in the cheek.
[00:31:08] Dann B.: God, everyone's under attack by their
[00:31:09] Allie: Oh, I sucked. A cherry
[00:31:11] Dan T.: Skin, Skidmore, Missouri. go ahead.
[00:31:13] Dann B.: Nothing. I'm just saying we're doing well,
[00:31:15] Allie: so put together.
[00:31:16] Dan T.: So that is the, the main pod, not main pod main theory that I brought to you, wanted to bring to you guys the main mystery.
[00:31:23] Allie: Love
[00:31:24] Dann B.: good. I love it.
[00:31:25] Allie: that, and that like is one of those things where in itself it's not a conspiracy, but there are so many conspiracies that can be built on it just because of the rarity
[00:31:37] Dan T.: Sure.
[00:31:37] Dann B.: And it's just so interesting that this small town literally conspired against one
[00:31:43] Allie: Against one man, but I mean, he seemed like he was a pretty big asshole. So I mean, if he literally shot somebody in the neck, you said, right? Yeah.
[00:31:52] Dan T.: se a 70 year old man.
[00:31:54] Allie: Yeah. Then that's pretty bad
[00:31:56] Dan T.: Of course, I'm not saying that a 70 year old man shouldn't be shot in the neck, but [00:32:00] you know,
[00:32:00] Allie: It depends on the situation. We don't know him. So now how old was this guy who.
he was in his forties whenever he got, when he got meed.
[00:32:09] Allie: So he wasn't even like, he can use like the grumpy old man as an excuse type of thing.
[00:32:14] Dan T.: No, he did. I, I mean, he did have an excuse. I didn't really wanna paint him in a good light given the circumstances. but he was in an accident and he had gotten brain damage and he had a steel plate in his skull. So some say that that could have been why he was the way he was.
[00:32:31] Allie: sounds like it. I wonder what he was up. I wonder what he was like up until that point.
[00:32:37] Dan T.: yeah, I, I, I couldn't.
[00:32:38] Allie: Yeah.
[00:32:39] Dan T.: Surely, surely there's somebody out there who would be happy to tell you.
[00:32:42] Allie: Yeah. Now we have to go see. Here's another place we gotta go take a trip to Skidmore, Dan and do like a little
[00:32:49] Dann B.: just bust into the grocery store. Who killed him?
[00:32:54] Dan T.: was it you,
[00:32:55] Dann B.: Looking under like the lettuce who killed him. Is the body [00:33:00] buried
[00:33:00] Dan T.: found a clue.
[00:33:01] Dann B.: in the produce section? In the freezer section
[00:33:05] Dan T.: It is a
[00:33:06] Dann B.: and then we get killed?
[00:33:08] Allie: Mm-hmm.
[00:33:09] Dan T.: But yeah, so murder mysteries and things like that kind of always draw my attention, especially when it's one interesting like that.
[00:33:16] Allie: And they always go hand in hand with these type of podcasts because those are the reason that conspiracies exist in the first place. So, but
[00:33:27] Dann B.: Yeah. And who doesn't love a good, good murder?
[00:33:31] Dan T.: Now I would've written you guys a 10 page paper and report with sources and everything cited. Unfortunately, as Dan knows, I broke my foot last week, and so I've been
[00:33:39] Allie: Get out. Really?
[00:33:41] Dan T.: Yeah, I've been really busy not having a broken, well,
[00:33:44] Allie: did you do?
[00:33:45] Dan T.: Oh, it's a conspiracy all on its own. I'm telling
[00:33:48] Allie: please share
[00:33:49] Dann B.: Yes, retell. Retell the story.
[00:33:52] Allie: I didn't hear this.
here in Missouri, I don't know if Allie knows about this, but Dan, I, I know I sent you pictures, along with Tim and everybody. we had a really bad, not really bad, but a [00:34:00] winter storm. Last week with ice and snow. that, that, no, that's just background. There was just icing and snowy outside.
on Thursday, my wife and I were leaving town to go out of town for Christmas for you know, Christmas
[00:34:11] Allie: right?
and that was whenever it was starting to snow and everything. And I went out to start the car and I came inside, made it through all the ice and snow. No problem. No problem. stepped into my house, onto my hardwood floor, right onto a dryer sheet.
[00:34:23] Allie: Oh no. And you split.
[00:34:26] Dan T.: Got meed by a dryer sheet.
[00:34:29] Allie: How does that ha That is the worst luck
[00:34:31] Dan T.: I know, right? That's what I said.
[00:34:33] Allie: for you.
[00:34:34] Dan T.: It's like final destination.
[00:34:36] Allie: oh, you made it past all of the ice and the snow that was on the ground outside. You came in, you thought you were safe, and you step on a fucking dryer sheet and your legs go, that's
[00:34:48] Dan T.: Yep. Yeah. It was wild. It was wild. our ring doorbell caught the audio. and and you just hear me go in and then you just hear, you hear like this super loud crashing and like I flung a wreath from the [00:35:00] door trying to like catch my , catch myself. And you just hear me go, oh God,
[00:35:06] Dann B.: I am, I'm sorry you broke your foot, but I really wish that actually got on camera.
[00:35:10] Allie: I
[00:35:11] Dan T.: right, that would've been amazing. If it, I I would've been super happy. May maybe I'll send it to the group chat and Tim can show it to you. I'll talk to, I'll talk to Sarah and see if she's okay with me sharing it cuz she was laughing her ass
[00:35:20] Dann B.: she's the one that put the dryer sheet there, so she
[00:35:23] Dan T.: yeah, I know, right?
[00:35:23] Allie: You know what though? If, if it was Tim and he slipped, I, my first reaction probably would've been laughing. Like, it's, it's, I mean, I been laughing in between, are you okay? But I would've been laughing for sure.
[00:35:39] Dann B.: It's always,
[00:35:41] Dan T.: it's, it's, go ahead, Dan.
[00:35:42] Dann B.: it's always, well, it's always the little things because as Allison knows, someone we work with broke, well, you, I used to work with, she works with currently, she broke her foot has been out for three years, essentially, and she tripped on a bedsheet.
[00:35:58] Allie: Bedsheet.[00:36:00]
[00:36:00] Dan T.: Oh, snap.
[00:36:01] Dann B.: got twisted up in a bedsheet and it destroyed her foot.
[00:36:07] Allie: Yeah. Like her whole.
[00:36:09] Dann B.: has a plate in there and everything. , protect your feet at all costs. That's all I'm saying. Protect your
[00:36:15] Dan T.: Well, that, that, you know, you don't realize how much you need your feet until they're not available.
[00:36:20] Dann B.: I know. I know now actually might get good money for them that foot now, depending on what it looks like when it comes out,
[00:36:28] Dan T.: like, listen, I could, Hey, you know, I could probably, you
[00:36:31] Dann B.: There is a market for
[00:36:33] Allie: I would totally do.
[00:36:36] Dan T.: only feats for gnarly feets.
[00:36:38] Allie: Is that a bill? Psych? Cause that's a great
[00:36:39] Dan T.: don't know. If it's not, it should be. I, I would, yeah. Listen, my foot's already goofed cuz I was from way in the past, so it doesn't matter. but anyway, now it's even more goofed, so it's great.
new theory though, the makers of
[00:36:51] Allie: wife's trying to kill you,
[00:36:53] Dan T.: My, I already knew that. That's not even a theory. That's just fact. That's just fact. Now that's confirmed. This was just her [00:37:00] like fourth attempt and it's still failing so. she's gonna have to try a whole lot harder next time, but I think the makers of household goods are trying to assassinate us all.
[00:37:08] Dan T.: D
[00:37:09] Allie: Or are you talking about the dr. Okay.
[00:37:11] Dann B.: dryer sheet.
[00:37:12] Dan T.: a
[00:37:12] Allie: seed
[00:37:12] Dan T.: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And the sheet that you friend tripped on and, you know, it's, it's
[00:37:16] Dann B.: Yeah. It's like you ever see, you ever see like, What's the movie called? The Brave Little Toaster.
[00:37:22] Dan T.: Oh, I
[00:37:23] Allie: a movie.
[00:37:24] Dann B.: Yeah. It's an old
[00:37:25] Dan T.: You've never seen the brave little toaster.
[00:37:26] Allie: No.
[00:37:27] Dann B.: Allison Tim, if, oh, Tim's not, Tim's not peeping anymore.
[00:37:31] Allie: not, yeah.
[00:37:32] Dann B.: The Brave Little Toaster is about a whole bunch of appliances that come alive when no one's looking. It's like a kid's movie, but
[00:37:38] Allie: Oh, it's a kids
[00:37:39] Dann B.: mm-hmm.
[00:37:40] Allie: I didn't know if it was like an adult film like that Sausage party,
[00:37:45] Dann B.: No, it is not.
[00:37:48] Dan T.: that would, that would put it to a whole new perspective.
[00:37:51] Dann B.: I hate sausage parties so much. . I I,
[00:37:55] Allie: I never watched it,
[00:37:56] Dann B.: You sh don't, don't watch it. It's bad. It, [00:38:00] I remember sitting in my old apartment, well this was a long time ago when it came out, when I was still living in Philly, me and Albert tried to watch it and we just both looked at each other and we're just like, oh, I don't like this movie.
[00:38:13] Dann B.: I was like, I don't like this movie either. It's. we turned it off. I never watched it from to the end, but
[00:38:22] Dan T.: it, it is pretty.
[00:38:23] Allie: I don't have that type of humor, like things like South Park and like, what's the family guy? And those shows, they don't entertain me. I just find them really annoying and then the voices are just like, shut up,
[00:38:36] Dann B.: I liked family guy. I was never in the South. Well, I was, I was never allowed to watch South Park, and then I never picked it up as an adult, so I really haven't seen it.
[00:38:46] Allie: I had kind of a sheltered childhood. I was not allowed to watch SpongeBob for a while either. And then, I don't know, it just now that I'm an adult, it's just the most annoying thing ever. The voices, [00:39:00] I think it's the animated voices that people use when they're making TV shows, just not a fan. It's like gnawing at you.
[00:39:08] Allie: I'm just like, shut up. But.
[00:39:10] Dan T.: fair. That's fair.
[00:39:11] Dann B.: a fair, fair
[00:39:12] Dan T.: Well, my family, my family, every Sunday we'd gather around the TV with our TV dinners on our TV trays and watch the newest episode of South Park as a family.
[00:39:19] Dann B.: That's nice.
[00:39:21] Allie: I love that. No, ours would be like, we would watch Wheel of Fortune. Why? It looks like we've got horns. What is
[00:39:28] Dan T.: It does.
[00:39:29] Allie: No. We would watch Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy actually. Jeopardy first and then Wheel of Fortune. Oh yeah.
[00:39:37] Dann B.: It's the pillow and then it's the martini glass behind you
[00:39:41] Allie: That's
[00:39:41] Dann B.: through the pillow
[00:39:43] Allie: What? A tiny glass.
[00:39:45] Dann B.: the martini glass from the background.
[00:39:48] Allie: Oh, that. Oh wait, no, I can't.
[00:39:52] Dann B.: Yeah. My family, we
[00:39:53] Allie: Okay. There we
[00:39:54] Dann B.: with a thing that we gathered around the table and watched. We watched, charmed, [00:40:00] we watched Friends
[00:40:02] Allie: See, I never washed any of those either, but
[00:40:04] Dann B.: watched Buffy, we watched a
[00:40:05] Allie: on.
[00:40:06] Dann B.: lot of, lot of fantasy stuff actually. Yeah. Like I grew up watching, like my parents were big Star Trek people. They weren't like Star Wars. Mm-hmm.
[00:40:17] Allie: Trek. I would never imagine that for your parents,
[00:40:22] Dann B.: Yeah. Oh, my
[00:40:22] Allie: like those same people.
[00:40:23] Dann B.: Both my parents
[00:40:24] Allie: mean, maybe your dad,
[00:40:25] Dann B.: both love fantasy. Star Trek is more politics in space. It's not really like,
[00:40:31] Allie: is it.
[00:40:32] Dann B.: yeah, it's not like sci-fi, like you'd, like, you'd think of a modern day movie or something.
[00:40:38] Allie: My, my
[00:40:39] Dann B.: A lot of, a lot of things from there came true. Like cell phones,
[00:40:44] Allie: from really
[00:40:46] Dann B.: they're, they're communicators.
[00:40:48] Allie: just like the, like how, like Simpsons is supposed to predict the future. Probably like, so Star Trek.
[00:40:54] Dann B.: Exactly. Yeah. Star Trek only stopped at cell phones. Simpson seems to keep predicting the future [00:41:00] is scary,
[00:41:01] Allie: which is really weird.
[00:41:03] Dann B.: which should
[00:41:03] Allie: gonna be another one that we have to
[00:41:05] Dann B.: I was gonna say that.
[00:41:06] Dan T.: that's,
[00:41:06] Dann B.: Good conspiracy to go through.
[00:41:08] Allie: Yeah, there's a lot of, but that's one of the ones where we're definitely gonna have to, maybe it's easier if we do it this way too, but if we put in like side by side images, like so we can be like,
[00:41:18] Dann B.: we could actually do
[00:41:18] Allie: happened. This is, yeah. I think that would be really good to do. with the Simpsons ones because like some of like timing wise and everything, like same scenes.
[00:41:28] Allie: So I think that would be a really cool one to do next. or at least soon. I think I also wanna do one coming up that we do like, maybe it's the one that we record when we're at Mag Fest, but I think we should do some sort of like Pokemon conspiracies or like, like that gaming type of, Whatever. I, I don't know.
[00:41:49] Allie: I'm not into that stuff. I just have to, I, I, I don't know the right words
[00:41:53] Dann B.: I don't know any gaming conspiracies, but maybe we
[00:41:55] Allie: I don't know. But I feel like that we could definitely find some, like we just go around, [00:42:00] maybe some people can introduce us to new ones next week or when we're,
[00:42:04] Dann B.: this is probably not the entertaining, but maybe when we're there we can ask people to like, they could just like if they come up
[00:42:12] Allie: five minute little clips.
[00:42:14] Dann B.: yeah. Like name your favorite conspiracy, and tell us why you.
[00:42:16] Allie: We can put 'em all together. Yeah. I know we're kind of brainstorming
[00:42:19] Dann B.: Like a
[00:42:20] Allie: We'll, we'll figure it out.
[00:42:21] Dann B.: Yeah, like a compilation. And then we can steal their ideas.
[00:42:25] Allie: Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's, let's do this. Let's, let's log off, log off this episode. Dan, I still want you to tell us about the, Momo, and we can use that for our Patreon. And then Dan and I, we can just brainstorm about stuff. Awesome.
[00:42:42] Dann B.: Unless there's, well, I know we kind of, we kind of named the drink before you, but what would you like to name your drink?
[00:42:50] Dan T.: No, honestly, the Skidmore is totally fine. we could also, yeah, no, that should work out just fine. Because I was gonna say like, like the McElroy and then I was like, well, I don't
[00:42:57] Allie: Oh, I like that too though.
[00:42:59] Dann B.: That is a [00:43:00] good
[00:43:00] Allie: Oh yeah. We don't wanna honor him with the name.
[00:43:02] Dan T.: Yeah, so the Skid Mower,
[00:43:05] Dann B.: I like that. The
[00:43:06] Allie: Wait, what's his name? What's his name? McElroy.
[00:43:09] Dan T.: McElroy
[00:43:09] Allie: McElroy.
[00:43:10] Dan T.: or McElroy, I don't know. I'm saying it McElroy.
[00:43:13] Allie: Okay. I was gonna say at first I thought they rhymed, but they don't. So nevermind
[00:43:18] Dann B.: No, it doesn't rhyme with Skidmore. I like Skidmore. That's a good.
[00:43:22] Allie: Yeah, for anybody who is listening right now, if you are one of our Patreon members, you will get the delicious cocktail recipe and you'll also be able to go on and listen to Dan's Momo story.
[00:43:36] Dann B.: So, I guess people talk to everybody next time. Dan, thank you for joining us today.
[00:43:41] Dan T.: Thank you for having me
[00:43:42] Allie: in the neck.
[00:43:43] Dan T.: I apologize for not getting you a better rundown of the
[00:43:47] Allie: It seems like you've had quite a, quite a week, so yeah, you're excused.
[00:43:51] Dann B.: You're excused. We won't, we won't sick the grocery store after you this time,
[00:43:56] Dan T.: Perfect. Perfect. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, benevolent [00:44:00] overlord.
[00:44:00] Dann B.: you're welcome. But just to remind you, you don't need your feet to type
[00:44:07] Dan T.: Now. Now you're sounding like, now you sound like my boss. So
[00:44:12] Dann B.: Well, good. I'll fit right in in Missouri. So Well, thank you again for
[00:44:19] Allie: all for listening.
[00:44:20] Dann B.: Yes.
[00:44:21] Allie: I Did you sign off?
[00:44:22] Dann B.: And so you're, I'm just thanking Dan for joining us. He definitely invited back,
[00:44:27] Allie: Yes.
[00:44:28] Dann B.: with a new conspiracy. Can't reuse that one. I'm sorry. But, but if you come back, that means you get a new drink. So
[00:44:36] Dan T.: Yeah. Perfect. Oh, I like drinking. Listen, I'm, yeah. So
[00:44:39] Allie: He's like sold.
[00:44:41] Dann B.: we'll have to do a little more planning on our. Because the u s ps defeated us a little bit, but that's for another story.
[00:44:48] Allie: my God, I was so upset. Yeah. We, we, we made, well, we tried to send Dan the ingredients for a cocktail. Apparently you can't send alcohol in the mail. Didn't [00:45:00] know that so that didn't work. And
[00:45:05] Dann B.: think you can, it just depends on what state you live on and I'm, I, I do think New Jersey's one of those states where you can't do it.
[00:45:10] Allie: Well, you can use, now that I know you can't go to a u P S store or a FedEx store and send alcohol, you can use like third, not third party sites, but like not the big names. Print your own label at home and then send it. So, but I was so upset. I thought of it like after I already gave it to them.
[00:45:28] Dann B.: this is the one time I wish you were in the office so you could like get a shipping label printed.
[00:45:32] Allie: Yeah, well you can go onto like, pirate, was it Pirate Ship, I think it's called.
[00:45:38] Dann B.: Pirate Bay.
[00:45:38] Allie: that way? No, it's called, I think it's
[00:45:40] Dan T.: Pirate pay.
[00:45:41] Dann B.: Pirate ship.
[00:45:42] Dann B.: I have to
I say yeah, but you'll, you'll get your, little. Bag tomorrow because unfortunately you couldn't use it tonight. I was so upset.
[00:45:50] Allie: They're like, well, we can send it overnight. It's gonna cost you $150. I was like, I don't think so. Do you go to Missouri? No. Right. Yeah. I was like, [00:46:00] Jesus.
[00:46:00] Dan T.: I don't think it would cost me that much to drive to you and pick it up and drive back.
[00:46:04] Allie: Right. I'm just like, I don't understand. But whatever. It is what it is. You'll get it tomorrow. It's some point. . Hopefully you enjoy it
[00:46:11] Dan T.: I'm sure I will. Thank you.
[00:46:12] Dann B.: Yes, you can have the rest of your cherries and whiskey in it for your
[00:46:16] Allie: Yes, there you go.
