"Looking back in retrospect, even though it was tough battling depression, being homeless, needing to apply a second time to medical school, which took another year out of my life - I think it's really helped me to empathize with a lot of my patients, especially those with mental health difficulties. It humbled me in a way nothing else could have."
Brandon Bukovitz first connected with 11|28 Community one and a half years ago when his family joined one of our community parties. He is in his final year of residency at Aurora Medical, an unlikely position for him having previously failed out of medical school and experienced homelessness.
