If you've ever found yourself disappointed with something you were eagerly anticipating, then you might know how Jesus' earliest followers might have felt. Jesus was a subversive figure during his life and ministry, and his disciples often found their most basic expectations upset. Still today, Jesus seems to be in the business of meeting needs, not expectations - so what are we supposed to do with that?
