The Speaker's Forum is held each Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Forum topics often address and spur dialogue about a current local community, statewide, national or international issue. Some forums feature a local author and the topic of the author's new book, or a representative of a local non-governmental organization (NGO) describing the organization’s work, programs, and accomplishments.

Margaret Stock is a lawyer who focuses on immigration and citizenship law. She is a nationally known expert on immigration and national security laws and has testified regularly before Congressional committees on immigration, homeland security, and military matters. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police, U.S. Army Reserve, Margaret has extensive experience with U.S. military issues. Margaret is the author of the book “Immigration Law and the Military.” She has also worked as a professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point and as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska. Margaret has served on the board of the Federal Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section and is a former member of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Immigration. Margaret received her undergraduate degree in Government from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, and her law degree from Harvard, as well as a Master’s of Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. In 2013, she was named a MacArthur Foundation Fellow (“genius grant” recipient) by the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
