The Speaker's Forum is held each Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Forum topics often address and spur dialogue about a current local community, statewide, national or international issue. Some forums feature a local author and the topic of the author's new book, or a representative of a local non-governmental organization (NGO) describing the organization’s work, programs, and accomplishments.

Anchorage School District - Dr. Jharrett Bryantt
Dr. Jharrett Bryantt is the Superintendent of the Anchorage School District. Prior to joining ASD in the summer of 2022, Dr. Bryantt was an executive officer at the Houston Independent School District, leading efforts to attract, retain, evaluate, and competitively compensate talent for the nation’s 7th largest school district. In 2019 Forbes Magazine’s named him as one of 30 education leaders to watch, and in 2021 it listed him as one of 50 champions for advancing communities of color. He holds doctoral and master’s degrees in educational leadership and policy from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science from Yale University. He serves on the Junior Achievement of Alaska board and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He is a core member of United Way of Anchorage’s Cradle to Career initiative. Dr. Bryantt was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and is proud to call Anchorage his home. https://www.asdk12.org/superintendent
