Setting The Stage: Dragon Ball Dyma

SPEAKER_00

Late in LA Life and Times Network Anime. Life and Times Anime episode four, bruh. Me and my co-host Carlos. We go from back in the day. Dragon Ball Dima. How are you feeling about that? How are you feeling about the continuation? How does Dragon Ball Dima feel to you? I I always thought it was heat because kids never, like, I don't know about kids today, but like they didn't have Dragon Ball. And I know they're not going to go to Dragon Ball. Right. Right. The attention span is cooked. The attention span is cooked. So Dragon Ball Dima is kind of like a launching pad for young people to get into.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, it's like we've said on this, it's like we've said on this pod. Dragon Ball was for a lot, for a lot of to get into anime, a lot of to lead pop culture. Like Goku himself is a figure. And one thing I don't think kids nowadays ever went through was Dragon Ball being missing. You know what I'm saying? So Dragon Ball has been ever present in every generation of anime since I've been alive. But Dyma, I I'm at the real, I'm at the age where I'm not gonna lie, whatever Dragon Ball content you throw at me, I'm consumed. Like whether it makes sense or not, whether it's convoluted or not, like I'm gonna consume it. Like it's not until afterwards that I'm gonna be like, yeah, like I get you, this didn't make sense. Like, yeah, all you did was re-animate and remaster this. But brother, at the end of the day, if Goku's on if Goku and Vegeta are on my screen, Piccolo's on my screen, Gohan's on my screen, brother. I'm watching.

GT’s Legacy And Mature Grit

SPEAKER_00

I mean, that's just what it is, bro. That's just what it is. How do you feel about like they are, they are, man. They are. I just say that like they have they're gearing towards kids, like the show, right? So like as far as how they use that chibi style and everything like that. So like I just think it's good that the kids have something new, but it's still familiar, you know? Like it's better than what they wouldn't get. So I'm just glad they get that. It was like a it honestly, bro.

SPEAKER_01

It felt like a GT regen. Yeah, exactly. I love GT. Bro, G, I love GT. I don't understand the hate of the GT, bro. Till this day, I will never understand the GT hate because I think it I think it's the most unique Dragon Ball we've ever got.

SPEAKER_00

It's the first time that Goku was not happy. He was trying to kill shit.

SPEAKER_01

He was on timing, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, when he goes Super Saiyan 4 and the Kamehameha goes red, like everything they did with Dragon Ball GT, the seriousness, the realism, the use of science as well. I think it's just a it's just a more mature take on Dragon Ball Z. I would love if they like, but they're not. It's not gonna happen. They got they got their characters, they might as well eat. Yeah, and it's like I can't tell you to stop eating. My bad.

Demon Slayer’s Spectacle Vs Story

SPEAKER_01

And I loved, I loved how, exactly. And it's like, I loved how all of Goku's villains in GT were all pure haters, like for the love of the game. Like they're just like, yeah, Goku, we gotta get you out of here. Like, you've been on around for too long. And then he goes Super Saiyan 4, and his voice gets a little deep. And yeah, he had a little more grit to him. And he's like, I gotta get you out of here. And I don't like the way I'm about to fight, but I'm about to pack you up. Like, like it was bro, it was straight up like you. Like, yeah, I do want to kick your ass. Bro, like as a as a kid, that did something to you, man. That was gonna be how you feeling.

SPEAKER_00

Demon Slayer is coming out, you know, they got their third movie on the way to finish the Infinity saga. I'm here to see it. I've read it, but I have to see it. Demon Slayer is it's probably like kind of reminds me of like just an athlete that's just athletic versus an athlete that's skilled and athletic. But I don't mind. I still want to see Zion dunk. That was a great analogy. I'm potding. I'm potting.

SPEAKER_01

That was a great analogy. Because honestly, yo, like I remember when D Demon Slayer came into the game hot, bro. Hot. Like super hot. And you're thinking, you're like, wow, is this anime really like is this that is this animation really sustainable? Because it came at a time where that was like the buzz thing to do as an anime watcher, be like, oh, the quality of animation and the choreography and all that type of and all the type of like backstage stuff, right? And then you're you're we're like 10 episodes in, they're doing the little, they're doing the little sword test or whatever, right? And as the story progressed and I got into the manga, I'm like, ooh, okay, okay, okay. But as the as the manga was finishing up, man, I'm not gonna lie, the ending was a little booky. So in in the long run, Demon Slayer's legacy isn't gonna be as pretty as it looks. Like in in terms of visual to long.

SPEAKER_00

Let's talk about we could talk about animes that did the same shit. Seven Deadly Sins. Remember that? That is true. And I got it, but and and you know what's funny? I do that show.

SPEAKER_01

I very much do. And you remember that eight Seven Deadly Sins game for their animation quality.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I remember all that shit, bro. Oh man, and I was I was still much. Is probably one of my favorite characters. Like his mindset is crazy. If you watch an Esprinor edit, you're going straight to the gym.

SPEAKER_01

And the four horses of the apocalypse movie, Lord. Oh my damn.

SPEAKER_00

Because how do you the movie?

SPEAKER_01

Like, I visually gotta see like what it'll look like. You have to. I'm sure all of it. You have to. And I'm sure I'll love it.

Animation Quality, Studios, And Burnout

SPEAKER_00

You have to. That that animation is crazy. But like, we gotta talk about how we get to this animation, right? There's some shit going on at MAPA. People are dealing with crazy conditions, they're getting pressured. They did, we just talked about it, but they signed a deal on Netflix. I'm just wondering if the the treatment's gonna change at all.

SPEAKER_01

Here's the thing. I I'm I was so curious about like that side of it. For the longest time, Japan was gatekeeping a lot of their animes because they're just like, oh, Western culture, they don't they don't know about this, they didn't need this. They were like making that decision, that executive decision for us that we didn't like a lot of the stuff that they were putting out. And I I won't say it's like late 2010s to the 2020s when they're being like when they're realizing that searching like the basement of the internet for more content. For example, going back to Dragon Dragon Ball Hero, and we're going through all these sketchy webs just to get the latest episode, whether it was subtitled or raw. And I wonder if that has to do with them like squeezing all their employees to like the last drop for for a lot of these drawings and pages, animation. Bro, I hope I hope it gets better because yo, a lot of these animators and writers, they're like in their health is being affected. That's why a lot of these, that's why a lot of these animes are going on these long hiatuses, because they're just like, dog, my mental ain't right, my body not right. Like, I can't draw, I can't even hold a pencil or whichever you utensil they use to color these pages or draw these pages to to to push out more content. So for the sake of for someone who genuinely loves anime for the love of the game, bro, yo, I got all of y'all in my prayers. Like, I want all of y'all in good health.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, absolutely, bro. Just to piggyback after all, man, like after all the work they do, right? And the supply and demand has just jumped by, I don't know, 10,000. The American market is fucking hungry. Because we eat this electric monster. Bro, we are we are the biggest consumers on the planet. Like Americans is crazy. So they gotta deal with the supply and demand of us, and I think that's a lot of the reason why they're getting crushed so much. But I wish that we just flesh out these systems. Like the creator of Hunter X Hunter should have an entire team. He should have like a hundred people under him. And that's the thing. Like, if you're the end of like money, bro. That's what I'm saying. Like, like, come on, at some point hire somebody because that's the you're gonna have to hire. Like, I don't understand what people think, but then again, they can, right? They have, they sold millions of copies, just a small team. So why do more? Hey, why can't you tell them not to can't tell them not to eat, right?

SPEAKER_01

And hey, as a script writer and as a script, as a writer yourself and and creator yourself, how does that how do you what's your perspective?

One Piece, Naruto, And Lost Recipes

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's what I'm saying. So, like, all right, I understand the gestation period of creating something, right? Where you can't get outside her view, but bro, when I finish a book, this gotta get edited, this gotta get published. This gotta, I have to talk to other people. You know what I'm saying? So, like, you have to talk to other people and do other things. Uh, it that's the biggest step if you want franchise. If you want that why this is why I have so many different podcasts, because if somebody doesn't like one thing, they're gonna like the other thing, and they may check out this thing. Like the cross-pollination of creation is everything, bro. How you feel about that one piece remake, bro? Need that, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I'm in too deep to give up now. Brother, I started it's like I've been telling people, I started One Piece as a toddler, brother. I remember being in third grade, Naruto and One Piece dropped on Tsunami at the same time. And I remember the first 10 episodes of each. I'm like, dang, do I really have to choose one? Naruto with some heat. Bro, and Naruto with some heat. You remember when Sasuke, you thought Sasuke got clapped. Bro, wait, hold on.

SPEAKER_00

We was the same age as Naruto.

SPEAKER_01

Crazy. Crazy?

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy. I was like, I can't relate to him. I kind of can relate to him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like I'm just like, dang, I want broski to really, like, I want brosky to make it to Hokage. Like, is he really gonna make it though? And and and then the question dawned on you as a kid, like, are they gonna make it to Hokage?

SPEAKER_00

Like, is Korama gonna take over?

SPEAKER_01

Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, at any point?

SPEAKER_00

At any point, because like early in this, like Naruto, man, if they would have kept their fighting style and how they did like combat and not try to you can't be Dragon Ball Z. Be ninjas. Yeah, be ninjas. That's they when they were being ninjas, bro, it was crazy. You know, they fighting aliens and shit, but Ruto You know, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

Androids, and don't don't get it twisted, but but with the recipe has has kind of been lost, don't tell me they changed some things, you know.

SPEAKER_00

They stepped on the dope. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They stepped on the dope.

SPEAKER_01

Start cutting the product. Start putting some soap in there, bro. What's going on? He's gonna die that way. And then you have the cool dynamic of pirates. There's something liberating of pirates.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, the synonymousness of uh in the synchronous, you know, how it's been synchronizing between protest and One Piece is crazy. It's a national banner of rebellion now, the One Piece flood. So, like in a largest sense, I'm so glad that's out, man. Because it's so applicable. Like, it's so applicable to what's going on. The only thing that's not going on is that we don't have devil fruit. If you had a double fruit, what would it be?

SPEAKER_01

Give me whatever Zoro got. Yeah, I need I need that. So whatever C what you're a Zoro got a user, yeah. Yeah, bro.

SPEAKER_00

A OP, bro.

Blue Lock And Real-World Football

SPEAKER_01

You see, nobody mess with Shank. Telling you, my brother Zoro gets busy. Listen, if I still had hair left on my head, brother, I'd buy my hair early. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_00

Zoro's goaded, bro. I I really like his character and how he moves. And I can't wait to see what's underneath that eye patch. But I know you're a soccer guy. Have you seen the impact of blue lock on professional level and on a day-to-day level? Like, is it everywhere now? Blue Lock, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm telling you, Blue Lock got the streets, bro. Like and someone who's completely like ears deep in the world of soccer and the world of football. Like, I hear about blue lock everywhere. And I'm gonna tell you right now, bro, blue lock, if you look at these clips of Japanese high school practicing their technique, you'll be like, bro, that really is Japan, really is Blue Lock Nation in real life. Like, they're really like the technique, yo, the fine line in terms like in soccer, we call it tech. Like, if you're you're techie, bro, in Japan, bro, they're just producing these techie players at dude in in bunches abundantly. But you know, it's like uh in Asian culture, they're not necessarily they don't take it as seriously as like a pathway, as like a South America or as like a Europe. Yeah, but if it's not a way out, yeah. If they decided to be like, yo, this is our way out, I'm telling you, Japan would have the may have the world in a chokehold. They would for they would be like a top five nation. They could potentially be a top five nation. You could argue they're a top ten nation right now, but uh, if they if they decided to take it as seriously as like a Spain, a Italy, a Germany, a Portugal, a France, an England, a Brazil, an Argentina, yo, Japan would be scary. They're actually my dark they're my dark horse for this upcoming World Cup because they got ballers for real.

SPEAKER_00

All they gotta do is put some soccer fields in the hood, bro. We be over there. I don't know. What's the case? Oh my god. I want to change some shit. Go ahead and throw it in the hood, it'll be fine. Bro, I'm telling you, I used to play that shit on the concrete. We used to play street soccer, bro. Dog, and that's what they do everywhere else, man. That's what they do everywhere else. That's all the platforms. I give it a little platform, there's a lot of sports that we could we would flip if we got into, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Could you imagine? I tell people all the time the lack of lack of resource is the perfect platform for talent, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. How are you feeling about Kaju number eight? It's trying to become one of the big three, dog. I fuck it. It's marinate. It's spoiled. It's boiling, it's up there. The plot good, the action's good, animation's good. It's funny. Yeah, it's I'm here.

New Waves: Kaiju No. 8 And Releases

SPEAKER_01

Because I've been reading it. It's one of the best new ones. I've been reading it for like what, maybe like what, two? It's probably been out for the manga, it's probably been out for like a good year and a half, two years now. Because it's like a good hundred, hundred and fifty plus chat. I want to say 200 chat. Bro, I remember my old co-work when I was still working at the Apple store. My co-worker, Phil, he put me onto it, and it was probably like 80, 90 chapters at the time, and I'm like, oh, Kapka Habono, brother, you're something serious. Yeah, you are something serious, my brother. So yeah. I'm waiting. I've actually I've still been reading it because they've still been coming out with chapters, and I've been letting that that anime stack, but I'm so glad it's being like so well recepted off rip. Because, you know, that's one of the things I always kind of get scared of. Like when when mangas don't have an anime, I'm like, ooh, how do you Yeah, how do you stay alive? Yeah, like how do you how do you give this life and how do you how relevant are you gonna stay? And depending on the release date, it's like what's also gonna be around, you know what I'm saying? Because it's like, you know, solo leveling's like the hot new thing right now. So it's like if you were to release next to solo leveling, it's like, well, you kind of get like, well, you kind of get flushed out from the hype. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, that's happening. It happens in music, it happens here. Like a lot of animes get stepped on, bro. Yeah. You know, like if I'm a new artist.

SPEAKER_01

If I'm a new artist and I drop the same night as Drake, like, am I cooked? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I know I'm not checking your album like respectfully. Bro, I'm pretty sure Baby Keem's album came out the same time as J. Cole's. I still haven't gotten to it yet. It's not not it's not because baby keeps not good. It's not good. I gotta listen to both disses, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Uh no diss, I gotta listen to both this. Exactly. It's not personal, bro.

SPEAKER_00

I heard the single though, him, Kendrick Lamar, and that's the I think that's the issue with him, and not to get into a music tangent, but like he's too attached to uh Kendrick, bro. Like, I I I should be checking for Baby King, not uh yo, Kendrick. It's kind of like Kendrick is perfect.

SPEAKER_01

Cell, Baby King to sell Jr.

SPEAKER_00

He is. He really is. Hey man, what can we do? I'm going to listen to the album. Oh that's what I can do. Bro, how are you feeling? Right. There's a lot of remakes being made, but there are original things being made. There's a couple I can think of off the top of my head, alongside Kaiju number eight, but there is an anime that's coming out from the creator of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. That's on the rise. There's an anime that's a continuation. JoJo Bazaar still run. So like I'm excited. Oh, Baki just came out, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, Baki the Grappler?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That shit is joint. I'm already at episode 11, bro. I gotta stop. That shit is so funny to me, bro. I don't know that in the streets. Yeah, that shit's on the streets, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Netflix just dropped that shit, bro. Bro, and it's crazy how much anime we're getting flooded with, because it's like I've been heavy. I've been watching Jack of All Trades, Sentence to Be a Hero, Jujutsu Kaizen, what I've got. Shangri La Frontier. Oh, Sentence to Be a Hero is some shit, bro. It's hard. It's hard, bro. Alright, I'll watch that. And then Fire Force, Fire. Exactly. Shangri the Shangri La Frontier.

Find Your Bag: Genres And Gatekeeping

SPEAKER_00

Because I see he's like a chicken hit. Like I just couldn't. It's it's I'm not gonna it's it's solo leveling esque. Oh, so it's like a stats and all that type of shit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so he's it's it's not so the real world, there's like the real world is like the real world, but like everyone's into like VR gaming and all that type of stuff. And Shangri La Frontier is actually the VR video game. And the bird head character is his character inside the game. Okay. And but here's the thing the the main character, he likes to play a lot of really bad video, but that's what makes him such a good gamer in Shangri Shangri La Frontier. That's an excellent, like God tier video game. Yo, it's it's really good, bro. It's really good. Okay, I'll check it out. It's like 50 episodes and it's worth it.

SPEAKER_00

Because I like Sword Art Online. I like the first season of Sword Art Online. You're gonna like Shangri La Frontier, bro. You're gonna like it. I like that shit. Like when they get trapped in there or something like that, when they get real, you're like, oh, this shit's true now. This shit is getting real, bro.

SPEAKER_01

My son Kirito had that was getting busy, bro. What do you say? I'm a beater. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

My son, bro, those first two seasons, bro, was real. The first two seasons, I don't even think about anything else. I might rewatch it. Exactly. Just keep what you can, bro. I don't watch it anymore, bro. What I stopped watching after certain amount of seasons, I think it was supernatural. I don't watch supernatural after season five, bro. Let's work.

SPEAKER_01

It never had never got into it. Never got into supernatural. First five seasons. Eek. Word?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, don't go after that though.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, yeah, after that, yeah, just just just just cut it off.

SPEAKER_00

Don't you open up that window? Bro, how are you feeling like with anime burnout? Like people are saying it's too much. I think people just gotta. I feel like this is so synonymous with music, right? People are like, there's nobody rap. People like Larry June just dropped. You didn't put him on your Spotify, he's not on your playlist, you don't give a fuck. There's animes that are dropping, they are heat. We just named a couple. Go watch the quality one. Go watch the eating. Don't tell me about the Izakai you don't like, bro. Yeah, because you're not an E. That just tells you you're not an Isakai. You don't like East. I don't like romance romance animes. I only like East. I don't know. And they both hurt me. Beats and Europe in April. Both of those jumps fucked me up. I'm not gonna lie. I was like, this is not my bag. This is not my bag. Somebody gotta be dying. Like somebody dying in power and up, bro. Because I can't.

Tech, Western Animation, And Influence

SPEAKER_01

It's the same thing with shows. It's the same thing with shows. If you're a shonen person, that's fine. Don't let people don't let people bully you into not watching shonens. That's one that's one thing. Don't let people bully you into not watching what you like. Bro, if you like shonens, stay with shonen's. You like, bro, if you like violence, stay with violence. Watch a blood sea, watch a parasite, watch an attack on Titan, watch a mob psycho. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Mob cycle's hard.

SPEAKER_01

Hard, bro.

SPEAKER_00

I just watched mob psycho. I never watched it when it was going.

unknown

Bro.

SPEAKER_00

Like when it was at peak, like everybody's watching this shit. I never watched it. Bro, that's it. I just watched the shit. It's crazy. I ain't gonna lie.

SPEAKER_01

Mob cycle and mob cycle is one of the unexpected one.

SPEAKER_00

I like it over One Punch Man. Respectfully, you know? Respectfully. Respectfully. I like it over. I'm like, because One Punch Man never gave me like if nothing's a challenge, what the fuck are we doing? You know what I'm saying? Like I'm not like I'm not like that, bro. I don't like flat for like Elon Musk and shit when he makes money. Like he was already supposed to.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, right. Find your bag. That's all it is with anime. Find your bag. And if you get bored of the bag you're in, find a new bag. Bro, there's something for everybody, bro. That's the thing about anime.

SPEAKER_00

And you can find like animes that are particular to you. Like whatever you've been through, I bet you there's an anime about it. Whatever you're into, there's an anime about it. Like I remember when I first started getting into sales, I started watching Spice and Wolf. It's all about trade, and then this guy is dating this guy or whatever. It's crazy. Like it's this traveling business dude.

SPEAKER_01

It's crazy. There was this tech anime. I can't remember what it was called, bro. It's like there's this. No, no, no, not Cyberpunk. Heat, though. Heat though, heat heat though.

SPEAKER_00

I can't wait for the second season. Yo, the dude that's making it is like, yo, I just like making people depressed. Like he came out and said that.

SPEAKER_01

And you know what's crazy? In the tech anime, bro, there's there's this giant tech comp, but you have to back up your brain. This Pantheons. Yo, it might be that. Yeah, bro. Pantheon's heat. Bro, and if you don't have the bread, yo, your memory's just chalked up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you're chalked, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, and mind you. One of this dude, he got money, and his parents are like, yo, his parents are down bad, or something like that. And he's just like, dang, I gotta back up. I gotta back up both my dad, my pop's, and my mom's memories, like, or else they're chalked up like within a couple of days. Oh man, it's so stressful, bro. Cause I was working at the Apple store at this time, and I remember I'm like, damn, this sounds like me when I have to tell people, like, you gotta upgrade that cloud storage, big dog. Like, you know what I mean? Or else, or else them photos, them photos, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, probably probably should have kept it. Probably should have took Polaroid back.

SPEAKER_01

You feel me? Them photos are little Timmy, them things gone, brother. Bro, I don't even know how people trusted the cloud, bro. Telling you, I watched that anime and I started feeling like, damn, am I a villain?

Representation, Killer B, And Culture

SPEAKER_00

Like, are you? You know what I'm saying? There's this little anime where the dude's like a salesman. Obviously, he's not a salesman, he's like doing like dark shit. And he's like selling souls and shit like that. It's like, I watched it, but I'm a salesman, so I'm like, oh fuck, I watched this shit real. Uh oh, this dark energy with the connotation. But that's what I'm telling people, like, there's everything. You can watch anything and everything. There's there's and there's animated shows that aren't anime, but I classify any show that's animated in serious as anime. That's where they got the sauce from. Teen Titan, Adventure Penny. Like, it like the themes are too mature for it to be just that.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, anime, static shock.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, static shock is near and dear to my heart.

SPEAKER_01

Static shock was heavy, bro.

SPEAKER_00

I think he saved a lot of kids like us in like areas that we grew up in where you can see someone be able to express themselves and be who they are. You know what I'm saying? Like, static had it. He was he was dealing with gang pressure. He had a like that show's like gold compared to what we got nowadays. There's no lessons in TV nowadays.

SPEAKER_01

Single, single father had two older sisters, bro. Father was a cop and wasn't home much, bro. So, like, you know, the influence was kind of was kind of far away. But again, like you were saying, grew up in a in a gang-affiliated area, had that gang pressure. He's in high school, bro. He's also a superhero. Bro, even his superhero fit, bro, was flying through the city on a trash can lid in some Timbs, bro, in a trench boot.

SPEAKER_00

Something out of nothing, too, right? Even his weaponry and how he approached things, right? And um, even his homie and like that's one of my favorite shows. I like that show. I Young Justice is an anime to me. Ooh, he's heat. Big heat. What is he? I can't wait for it. Uh bro, one of my things I want to do when I have like ample bread, yo, hey, whoever's over there, just make the season for me. I don't care. Yo, for yo, you go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that deposit that's.

SPEAKER_00

What do we gotta do? No, we don't send that shit. Get the voice actors already.

SPEAKER_01

You need that season six? I need like eight of them. Yes, you need like eight of them. Yo, eight. I'm gonna make that order. Yo, yo, don't even worry about the wire. You send that when you send that. I got you, broski.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, sir. You see how fast he got my money? Yeah, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I'm talking, just give the people what they want, bro.

TikTok Hype And Short Attention

SPEAKER_00

Bro, we got big adult money. It'll be good to have some black representation in there. I mean, there's some real good black representation in some of these newer animes, and I think that Japanese community and culture is starting to understand over there, which is like you can't make someone understand. They only have what they have from you. You know what I'm saying? Like, like what's been produced and pushed over there in Japan. Like, a lot of people have issues with how the characters and all that stuff from black people in anime. But here's the thing Japanese didn't create that, they learned that from our politicians, our American politics, how we were treated. They thought it was susceptible because we thought it was acceptable. Exactly. The conversation changed. That's all. Shout out the hidden shout out the hidden cloud village, full of black. Right, right, right. Change the change the sauce, bro. Killer B still like any he pulled up and watched Sasuke and his whole crew. And his whole crew while rapping. While rapping, while fooling them.

SPEAKER_01

And stop the bid fight and be like, hold on, hold on, hold on. Before I start, before I begin to whoop your ass again, I gotta write down these bars.

SPEAKER_00

He also robbed somebody at the robbed Kisume of his own sword.

SPEAKER_01

He robbed Kisame. He's like, I need that. Bro, his sword was like, I'm not gonna lie, those bars are heavy, and his chakra is wavy.

SPEAKER_00

Way better, man. Bro, than the chakra over there.

SPEAKER_01

I'm telling you, Kisume was like, bro, what? Like, I didn't even know my own sword could do that.

SPEAKER_00

Right? It's crazy how OPE became once he had that sword. I still have him up there kind of with he's right there with Naruto if he used that sword correctly. The people don't even know. How do you feel about TikTok and social media as far as like how it's been impacting anime and how people are absorbing it these days? In terms of- Because I feel like uh it's so trendy now.

SPEAKER_01

It's just trendy as fuck. Bro, I be seeing all these new animes, like, and I'm like, hold on, what's this? Hold on, what's this? I'll be saving all of them, and like I literally have an anime like playlist on my TikTok. Because I'm just like, I have never heard of this before, never heard of that before, never heard of that before. And I bookmark them all, and I just run through the comments, and I'm just like, I make a I make a note like on my iCloud and be like, yo, yeah, add this to the watch list, add this to the watch list. So, in terms of like exposure, like it's I think it's great. And again, like we're living in a time where it's okay and normalized. So it's like I don't even gotta hide it. Like, if this was high school, I would have never like reposted or retweeted any of that stuff. I would have just bookmarked it and been like, Yeah, I'm gonna keep this in the tuck. You know what I mean? Now you could be loud and proud and be like, yeah, repost, retweet, like, favorite, share, subscribe, boom, boom, boom. And it's no issue. So, in terms of like getting the word out and discovery, I'm discovering all types of anime I never even heard of. Like, I got students, bro. I got my own students putting me on. You know what I mean? And I'm like, oh word, this looks wavy. Like, ah yeah, I'm gonna throw that on the watch list. So I think, I think it's great. It's already a part like embedded in the culture. Of course, our attention spans are fried because it's like, you know, a little tensive. You're 15 seconds here, 30 seconds here, attrition, attrition, attrition, attrition, attrition.

Final Reflections And Industry Shifts

SPEAKER_00

People are saying, like, oh, one of the bad side effects is that like we got people who like anime but they don't know ball. Like they just they just gotta edit a Goku, they don't know how sayings, you know, they don't know how that works, they don't know where they come from. So it it's it's a lot of that. But I feel like if any interest is good interest, so like in the in a in a spirit of like expanding the anime world to just let people get in how they fit in.

SPEAKER_01

Telling. Yeah, because bro, I never thought we would live in times like this where I'm I'm hearing kids have an open conversation, like, yo, what's better, solo leveling or jujitsu kaizen? And I'm like, hey, I'm not gonna try it. Like, like who's got he was like, Who's got more aura? Jim Woo or Gojo?

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like, Yeah, the aura thing is a little funny though.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not gonna lie, though. You gotta go plot. You gotta go.

SPEAKER_00

We gotta go plot plot if we talk about what's better. Do you have any like last thoughts as far as everything as a whole?

SPEAKER_01

Anime until I die, bro. Not gonna lie, like I never, bro, I'm not giving this shit up, man. Like, we we really built this brick by brick, man.

SPEAKER_00

We did, we did, like, to live in this version of society in this aspect. Plus, like, just the bread, bro. Just the bread. Like, this is a market that people don't understand. Like, this is a a large market. And the more you get into it, obviously, we'll start doing events, we'll start doing shit. So, like, it's gonna be fun once we like get around to Halloween and we dress up as this or that. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's gonna be pretty cool. Like, and it'll be exciting. That's like my last thoughts on that. And far as anything else, man.

SPEAKER_01

Crunchyroll, remember where you came from, man. Yeah, remember where you came from.

SPEAKER_00

Country Rolls wild. Hey, they gotta anime. They try to put they they try to put out their own work now, bro. They're in the streets too. They're in the streets too, bro. But remember, it's a big rich town.

SPEAKER_01

You you was walking right next to us in the hood. Now you went to the game. Not like us community. Now you went to the gated community and forgot about us, man.

SPEAKER_00

Now forget about us. But all right, thanks everybody for tapping in Life and Times Network Anime.
