Vols Pitcher George Jeffcoat Sets Strikeout Record
In front of 2,800 fans at Sulphur Dell on September 10, 1940 George Jeffcoat fulfilled a prediction he made to local sportswriter Raymond Johnson, and sets a Southern Association strikeout record in the process.
