NBL1 Pre-Season Finals: Conference Champions Crowned Across Australia
Hello and welcome to this bonus episode of the Australian Sports Edition show. We have the National Basketball League 1 pre-season competition from Old Form 5-Dimitre Conference. We have the Northern, which is the Queensland Conference. Eastern is Newstown, wales, sydney, south is Victoria, west is Western Australia, perth, and Central is South Australia, adelaide. We are starting off with the Northern Conference.
Speaker 1:As I've been saying, this is not just a grand final. Let's dive into it and let's get into it, all right. So we do start off, as I mentioned, north Conference in the North Queensland and we do have a two-game series. We went through Well, it was actually best of three for this one. So we do start one with the women's competition with the first game which was the 15th of August. This was a game played at roll land, carmen stain, which is in southern district burdens. Take a look and thunder and well done. Game one, seven district birds taken 87 to nine. Sure we game two. Now this is going to be a quite interesting, I thought the seven district birds take Funding Game 2, which was on the scene of August Staines Stadium, rowland Cowan Stadium, which was the Logger Funding Hagan 89-60 victory. Final game Staines, staines, staine.
Speaker 1:A weekend of grand finals, 17th of august 2 pm. Australian eastern standard time. At bro land harran stadium, it was the longer thunder taking the 2025 nbl north. Nbl one champion, the feeding south district burn and 76. Well done to the longer thunder taking the nbl woman northern grand final. We have have the Brisbane Capitals Second, seven district first, and this was played at Northside Indoor Sports Centre For five games. And this was all clear. Brisbane wanted to win it, but they had a 7th district first 90-78 over the Brisbane Capitals and this was going down to the wide 93-88. 1978 over Richmond Capitals, and this was going down to the wire 93-88. And seven Spurs taking the men's NBL 2025 championship. So congratulations to the men's seven district Spurs taking a 2-0 over Richmond Capitals. 3-1 series to the longer Thunder 17-7 presence. That is all from there for the NBL Grand Final.
Speaker 1:Let's now head over to the Eastern Conference, which is in New South Wales, sydney. We're now head to the 4-1-1-3, and really I didn't really watch. This was only one game series, so let the best win win. And the women's competition was Manly Wingers the Eagles tag on percentage of excellence, and this was played at Herb Valley. Wingers the Eagles tag on center of excellence, and this was played at Herb Valley Wingers Sports Center in New South Wales and the Manly Wingers, the Eagles, 89 defeated. A very strong win over the center of excellence. Well done making the grand final. Well done to the Manly Wingers, the Eagles with winning the NBL Grand Final.
Speaker 1:We have the Earl Hawks take on Canberra Gummies, and this was played also at the St Stamium Doubleheader. And this was not just a Grand Final. Canberra Gummies are defeated 99-91 over the Earl Hawks. A point victory Knowing that will be interesting. So well done to the Canber Eagle Hawks. 8 point victory Knowing that will be interesting. So well done to the Canberra Yummies. I did show the Eagle Hawks to take the win as well.
Speaker 1:We're now taking over from North East, now heading to the Victoria-Salvin Conference, which will be interesting. Let's find out. Let's go there now. So yeah, so, go there now. So yeah, so. What an interesting grand final this was.
Speaker 1:Second thing, what conference had? We had an absolutely interesting All-State Basketball Centre Basketball State Basketball Centre. And wow, geelong, united tag on a few runners in the women's grand final and it was the not runners Tagging at 84.64.3. In in that grand final in the Southern NBL 25. Congratulations to the not writers taking that championship. The men's grand final was absolutely amazing. Sam the Wackham Sabres take on Melbourne Tigers and it's the 99 Sabres come champions. For the Melbourne Tigers 80. Congratulations to the two winners not graders in the Women's NBL 1, salvin Krom, anders and Rangaham Savers. How can they win? For the winning the championship? All right, we come to the West Conference.
Speaker 1:Now we're just introducing previews of the grand final, so let's now go to the Western Conference final series. That's grand final. And here we are. We have made it so. This game will be played on the 23rd of August 2025. This will be time slot of Australian Western Eastern Australian Western Australia Eastern Standard Time for both times. So for Dwayne Hunker, take on White Sages. And it's the Jonathan Sanders Take on White Sages. I'm going for both White Sages, for the women's and the men's.
