Countdown to Finals: Host Plus SANFL Round 19 Results and Playoff Preview
The SANFL finals race is set with Round 19 results confirming the top six teams and setting up thrilling elimination finals across league, reserves, under-18s and under-16s competitions.
• Central District demolished Glenelg by 86 points (20.8.128 to 6.6.42) in a statement win heading into finals
• Minor premiers Sturt suffered their first loss, falling to Adelaide Crows Reserves by just two points (14.5.89 to 13.9.87)
• Norwood completed a remarkable turnaround from wooden spooners to finals contenders with a 10-point comeback win over Port Adelaide
• Woodville-West Torrens finished their season with pride, defeating North Adelaide by three points
• West Adelaide claimed victory over South Adelaide despite both teams missing finals
• In the reserves, Glenelg claimed top spot while South Adelaide dominated West Adelaide by 90 points
• Under-18s and under-16s finals series have begun with several clubs represented across multiple competitions

Hello and welcome to the 40th episode of the Aussie Sporting Show. Let's get on the way because we have final series here in LA, south Australia, the local competition, south Australia National Football League Going for the sample. We are going to take you all from the under-16s, under-18s, reserves in the league and all the action under-16s and 18s are underway for the final series. We'll find that in a moment. If not, which is not, I am in my intro. So let's get on with the show, because we just destiny got the last round of the 2025 post plus sanfair, south australia national, post Plus SA and AFL South Australia National Football League Round 19 result and then, in the very soon moment, we'll share the preview. What a season of football we've had. Let's get on with the show. So much to cover, welcome all. And we have made it to the 19th round, the final round for the league and for the reserves. We are sharing all of those results of the Host Plus 2025 season and we'll look into the final series as well as on. The SA NFL app has released the League 2025 Host Plus SA NFL final series. So we'll go through all the round 19, the final round results and then my previews I cannot wait to share with you all From game one to five.
Speaker 1:I'm going to mix it up a little bit. I'll start off. There's only one game on the Sunday. We'll start off and then we'll go from all the Saturday games after that. The first game we're going to share is Woodsville West Torrens versus North Adelaide Roosters, and this game was down at Woodsville Oval, known for Kia Oval, and well done to Woodsville West Torrens. They needed the win over North Adelaide and they're not playing for finals but playing for fun, playing for the glory of the jersey. And unfortunately they've just not finished the season on their terms, finishing seventh overall. So the final score for this game 10-66, defeated 9-9-63. I thought like North Adelaide, I thought Woodford West Hines, they were up there this year. They were definitely in my top five, absolutely yeah, it's can't believe the season's finished for these guys. But wish them all the best. Bring good talent and know it will be a good, strong momentum into next year. Enjoy the off-season and I know, hey, not playing finals, but you know, thank you for a good season. Well, we've done that. We've done our son.
Speaker 1:Last Sunday football for the regular season we come to game originally in game one. We share game five and I want to share the last two games really I think the best games. But I'm going to now share the second game, which is game three of the third game of the last round, which is down at Richmond Oval, west LA Bloodstack on South LA Pandas. And I'm going to say well done to West LA in this season with a big win. Seven goals, 14, 56, 8, 7 goals, 8, 50. So I am proud to know that. It's just amazing that West LA has come off a really big win.
Speaker 1:And West LA supporters come and support your side. It's really important through these difficult times. Your juniors, under-16s, on the 18s they are performing best. They reckon it's on the 18s, it is. They finish second overall in the ladder. Go and support them because I hope they bring a flag back to the club. It's a big deal. They've got some great talent into the side but hopefully they can play some league football and future on for that. Definitely they can play some league football and future on for that. So well done to the team called West Adelaide Bloods with the win we come to now these two teams applying finals, finishing fourth and second, but this team, absolute dominator, finish it on a very strong note.
Speaker 1:It's Central District Bulldogs taking Glendale Tigers the Bays and the Glendale Tigers travel to Elizabeth Oval, which is a petrol station sponsor. Come on, do apologize. What the name of this, the Oval by. Quote Elizabeth Oval, because that's where Central District Bulldogs are from. So final score 28-128, defeated 66-42. So it's a very, very comfortable victory 14 goals. Let me just get back to you with that. So 11 goals, 66-12, 72, 13-, 78. 86 points, if I've got my calculations correct, and it is exactly that's the correct margin 86 points and really put Central District on the edge. Hope we'll find out who they play in the finals. They finished fourth overall. Congratulations to both Glenelg Tigers and Central District playing finals. They're first-different teams. We come now.
Speaker 1:I would like to share the last game, first versus third on the ASNFL ladder right now. So we're down at Thomas Farmer's Oval, known for Ungley Oval, which I went to that game. Well, I didn't go to this game. I went to the Adelaide Crows Girls had gone Geelong Cats Girls in the Oval W. It's a great oval. It's a very. I had played one grand final back in 2020, and it's a pretty decent big oval to play on. My cousin as well played for a start under 18s and he said it's a pretty good, decent club, really good culture as well and as well as that. So this game should be the upset of the round. It's 100%. I'm going to share it right now.
Speaker 1:So the final score between Sturt and the LA Coast Reserves the Darrell Blues finally got their loss and I'll explain how healthy it is a loss from the win. So 14-5, 89, 13-9, 87. The LA Coast Reserves came out absolutely on top and Sturt. Good sides do come back hard, but unfortunately they went short by two points over all. So well done to start on claiming the minor apprenticeship. The season's not now the new season, it is a final series. Speaker 1:The next game, the fifth game. I mix it up because why not? I'd like to just go through the reserves after this game. So nord relax versus port Highs. This was a much better response from Port Adelaide Map Highs' point of view and I'm going to say Norwood are safe. This was anyone's to win and Port Adelaide Map Highs want to play finals. They really want to claim that fifth spot and unfortunately just went short. They were six goals up all day, about 35-point margin as well. Final score 12. Goals 15. 87 to 3, 11-11, 77. The last second half won the game for the Norwich Red Legs and I have saw this game in the final game on the SA NFL Now description app, which is a fantastic app. It has the inclusive, it has all different competition. Thank you, sam, for a great well description to watch games of football. So really, this is a really interesting fact that Nord are back in action. Did not see this even action the play finals, but they got their spot. Congratulations. Great response from finishing last to finishing sixth. Speaker 1:We now come. My goodness, before we get to the previews, I'm going to give you all the league of that. We are now sharing the reserves. Let's get over to this game. We've got four games. I'm going to go through them. There's a little bit of one, two or two sentences, why and how much this game I'm sharing.
Speaker 1:The first game to life Central District versus Glenel Tigers. Well done, glenel, making minor 20s to finish in top for a very strong reason, defeating Central District by 19 points 10-13-73, defeated 8-6-54. Now it was a very similar score ride as the league as well, but you get more, actually two goals more overall. But well done to Glenelg Finishing top. Norbert Legs were there, sturt were there and as well Glenelg were in the mix as, maybe as well I'm not sure what's that point of view but well done to Glenelg. Were in the mix, maybe as well. I'm not sure what's that point of view, but well done to Glenelg, not just winning this game, but finishing top.
Speaker 1:We come to now the next game, which is South Adelaide Will Rice versus West Adelaide versus South Adelaide, dana Richmond in the reserves South Adelaide 18-15, 1-2-3, defeated 4-9-33. South Adelaide 18-15, 1-2-3, defeated 4-9-33. A disappointing reserve season for West Adelaide, finishing last on the ladder. Unfortunately that's not their season with a 90-point defeat. South Adelaide Panthers supporters, come out, support your team. It must be a really important season to see your team in action, not maybe not your league, but the reserves is also important. Support them as well. So all the best for the final series. All the best West Adelaide and Central District as well in the off-season. Hope you get some good Woodcrew players and hopes and talent will go from there.
Speaker 1:We have Woodsville, west Dines and North Adelaide, which both teams do take an action in final series, where Woodsville will tackle whoever is fifth place We'll share that really, really soon and North Adelaide will tackle South Adelaide. So final score for this game between Woodsville and North Adelaide 12-9, 81, defeated 7-7, 49. Well done to. Woodsville West Tynes defeated North Adelaide Rockets. North Adelaide Brewsters by 32 points. That's it.
Speaker 1:Now we have Nord and the Sturt Dower Blues, the 2024 Grand Final Rematch and this was a very much a finals feeling. Unfortunately, nord came out absolutely on top. What a really what a apprenticeship team did. Now, unfortunately, Sturt just came, pulled in. Who wants to finish fifth? It was Sturt. Well done, they got the job done. 12 and 82 to feed 11 at 7.73. A nine-point victory to the Sturt Stour Blues and they will be claiming their fifth place. It was anyone's to make that happen. So the team. Well, with this breakdown, as we don't know where these guys will be playing, they will not be playing at the Allied Oval, they'll be playing in a different Oval for the Reserves under 18s and 16s. But Glenelg will finish top of the Reserves. So enjoy your week.
Speaker 1:Hoffs, south and north head-to--head, and Woodville and Sturt. I think it will be a South Adelaide win. They'll take on Glenelg, north Adelaide and the Sturt double blues. They will take Woodville. We'll be gone and that will be my restrictions in that point of view. We do come to the leg main one.

I can't really say much about the LA Crows reserves, but I am going for them to make it safe. So Nord, the beat will tag on Nord. Nord will tag on Central with the win and as well the will tag on Central with the win. And as well the LA Crows will take the win over Glenelg. They'll tag on Sturt and Glenelg take on Norwood. What an absolute feeling that will be and that is my really opinion of that. So just slightly quickly, who I think should play? Well, the winner of this game between Sturt and West Adelaide Hope Sturt have won and hopefully they'll go into the straight into the grand final. West Adelaide and Central District for the win there. Unfortunately, woodville West. Torrens with the win there, unfortunately Woodville, west Torrance, with the loss there For the under-18s final series as well, we come to the under-16s competition and Central and West I'm going to call our upset with West Adelaide taking the win and North and South really very much.
Speaker 1:All those reserves and where we're in on that 16th, 18th and reserves are very much mixed, but North are the only team that's got one team in the finals. So South will beat North and they will take on Central's for the second week with West Adelaide in the Grand Final, alright, and week with West Adelaide in the Grand Final, all right.
