Surprise road wins. One-point heartbreakers. A perfect shooting night that swung a heavyweight clash. Round Six gave us everything, and we’re walking you through the decisive quarters, the tactical wrinkles, and the players who shaped the scoreboard when it mattered most.

We kick off with Cairns’ mounting problems against a ruthless Perth side that turned defensive rebounds into runway offence. From there, the scene shifts to Auckland where New Zealand blitzed early only to watch Brisbane recalibrate after half-time and close with poise. Phoenix then showed why they belong near the top, spacing Sydney apart while Nathan Selby steered the pace and punished soft closeouts. Melbourne United kept their rhythm against Cairns with disciplined possessions and smart shot selection—proof that tidy basketball travels.

The weekend flipped again as Phoenix poured in another 100-plus on Brisbane, and Illawarra silenced Perth’s jungle with a gutsy one-point win built on interior presence and late-game execution. Sunday tightened further: Adelaide nicked United thanks to Jesse Edwards’ 10-of-10 masterclass, and the JackJumpers edged Sydney behind relentless defence and superior shot quality down the stretch. Across these games, a pattern emerges—win the glass, protect third quarters, and have two clean counters ready for late-clock pressure. The teams that did those three things banked points and belief.

If you’re tracking form lines, Phoenix’s depth looks real, United’s habits remain elite, and Tasmania’s composure is no accident. Brisbane showed resilience on the road, Perth’s ceiling is high but vulnerable to strong interiors, and Cairns need leadership at guard and an anchor inside. We’ve got the key stats, quarter-by-quarter momentum shifts, and our player-of-the-game picks for every matchup. Hit play, ride the swings, and then tell us who sits on your contender line this week. If you enjoyed the breakdown, follow, share with a mate, and leave a quick review—your support helps us bring more NBL stories to your feed.

Hello, welcome back to my MBL 26 series. We have the basketball season's just gone so quick, but let's get on with the show. Well, welcome aboard. And please subscribe if you love your basketball in Australian basketball. That's what we're here for each week. Like if you like this as well, hit that notification, you will not miss an episode or the latest is coming soon. So well we're on to the round five for the NBF 26 results. And I really will actually know we do have round six results. Not round five, I've got my confused. And then we go into round seven res. So hoping you enjoying the NBF 26 series so far. And all the other thoughts and generally every episode you have enjoyed the quizzes, you know. Make sure you enjoy that as well. As we come into round six, we're the season gone. So as I'll be doing, showing and congratulations to the winning team, and then we go into the player of the game. So there is not just the NBL season, there's uh also every Wednesday they have a traditional competition. I'm not too familiar with that, but it is part of the round, and well, let's get straight into it. So oh here we go Wednesday. Night basketballing cans. There's a lot of home games for the Cantapens. They need to find some magic in this season. But it's up half Rycats taking the win 11078. So this is a matter of rebuilding for the Cantai Pans. They need to find some spirit and magic to make this work. Well, each chord I'm gonna do right now. Let's drive into it. So per fire up with 30 points to 22. Same thing with per 30 points to cans 20. So then 20 for the cantile pans to 28, perf right, 22, 16, 22 to the perf right, 16 to the cantile pans. So I just gonna say that where can I see improv with the canned type pens? They are really struggling, I figured they'll be coming in quite well. But this was played at the Ken's Convenience Centre at the North End, Queensland. So perfect. You know, well done on the win. 110 points is humongous. It is may not be a victory on the regular season, but it is a well, a very important one to set that. Right. So for Al and Dow, making this really short because we've got so much to cover. We've got the one the best games of the round to come. So the player of the game, I'm gonna continue to do that. It is a perf workout player. I can't go through every player, and I wish I could do that. But this person, this player, this, you know, has worked really, really hard and well earned deserved. He is from the Perth Warcats. Kristen Doolittle. That's it. That he's my player. The game was 32 minutes, 18.8 rebounds, four assists, two steals. We he scored a 6-11 from the field, 54.5%. He is from the range of eight from 5'8 from the field, 62.5%. He's one from three, 33.3% from three-pointer. Field goals 5 8 from the field, 62.5%. Pretty good all eight reruns of defensive reruns. Well done to the Christian Dolittle. From the Murphy Cut, Big Ford. We now come to Thursday night double header. What a game this was in New Zealand at Brank Arena. Then we go to John Cain Arena between Savage and Melbourne, Phoenix, Haggle and Sydney Keynes. What a game that was. So also apologise for speaking so exciting but quick. 83-84. Who won? We'll find out right now. Well, New Zealand came out ups on top with a 25-11 at quarter time. 32-28 in the second quarter for New Zealand Breakers. It changed the table. 29 to 15. Brisbane Bullets. 16-11 Brisbane Bullets winning the second half. New Zealand absolutely dominating the first half. You gotta win each quarter to win the game of basketball. There's four quarters of 10 minutes, equals 40 minutes in the NBL Australian basketball. So all competitions of like district and all have 10 minutes each quarter. So let's just drive and who won this. Now, how can New Zealand control this? And then it changed to the Brisbane Bullet taking the win on Thursday night in New Zealand. New Zealand are trying everything to be close. They are getting close, they have improved. Can they do better? Now, I gotta say, they must shot well New Zealand early, but Brisbane found something in the third quarter. Maybe not won a more than 30 plus points or 32 points, but it was New Zealand doing the same thing like in the first quarter Brisbane did. So consolations on Brisbane Bullets on the road to its victory. We were at the end of the stadium ABT. That's in New Zealand. We're going to the play of the game. Make this short, make this sweet. What a really big road victory. And I can't go wrong with this man. His name is Casty Parton from the forward guard from the Brisbane Bullets. Included. Well, the minutes is unavailable, unfortunately. But 23.12 rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks. Scored 921 from the field 42.9%. 7 from 14.50 exactly percent. He scored a 2 from 7 from the three-pointer, 28.6%. 3 from 4 from the field, 75%. 2 offense, 10 defensive. Well done. Two Casey Parter from the Brisbane Guard. Coming into the double head end back in Melbourne. Victoria Stradia. Southeast and Melbourne Phoenix back on Sydney Keynes. What a game. This was 112-95 at John Cane Arena. JCA Newell under the Southeastern Melbourne Phoenix with the victory. Taking a nice 17-point victory. So how can this call it went through? It was 22-20 Southeastern Melbourne Phoenix. 28 Sydney Phoenix 23. 34 Phoenix 25. Sydney. 33 Phoenix. Sydney Coons 22. There you go. How did this happen? Well, data's come out. Credit to Sydney came out early, but it was all just the Southeastern Melbourne Phoenix taking a very nice win. Not easy to go to Melbourne and just take a win. So Sydney heads up. Well done to the Phoenix. Making this short, making this sweet. The part of the game, it's pretty hard to put this player on board. You know, when you don't play well, you're not in the mindset. But I gotta give it to not a lot of points scoreboard. This person did destroy scored a very, very nice game. Very healthy as well. I'm going to give it to pretty hard to hit. And I'm going to give it to Nathan Selby. 31 minutes, 33.5 rebound, five assists included. Well, a nice 12 and 20 from the field from 60%. 6 for 9 from the field, 2 pointer percentage, 66.7. 3 pointer, 6 from 11, 54.5. 3 from 5, 60%, 1 offense. And for defensive, Nathan Selby, my player of the game. Absolute dominated. He had out of 40 minutes, he played 9 minutes on the bench. So tells me he is a very important point guard for the Melbourne Phoenix Star. Continues on his basketball career. We go in to back to Cairns. The challenge scene. Kent Highbans are not in great form. Take on Melbourne United. Melbourne United are absolutely one of the Kings on playing their best basketball to come. Stay tuned because we've got some big games as well. Friday night basketball back in Cairns Center. The final score 94-67. A 27 points of heavy defeat to the Cairns High Pans. Not then anything to score over 100s, not easy. A bit downward going to 78 to now 67. They lost 11 points, but they won quite nicely. 16 minus against. So they won that part. But with Sheet's quarter right now, 31 Melbourne United, Cairns High Pan 16. It was pretty even, but Cairns taking it 18-17 in the second quarter. 24 Melbourne to Cairns 17. 22 Melbourne United 16 to the Cannes High Pans. So it was all under 20 points. They have got some massive fields. Where is the Cairns Hype Hans at this point? They are struggling big time. They need to find a guard that can lead away. Being a big man, a mother big man, they are struggling, Cans, big time. They are not coming together. They've got to find belief. They're not finding championships. No one wants to come cans. You gotta find and believe and trust your game co-plan, or they're gonna be in more ever in trouble. So moving on from that, Melbourne, well done, mother win. You know, some other wins, some other job done. You know, they got some great stars. They're nicely on the ladder. Hotspot undefeated. But wait, we got a very special treat with you all on Sunday hoop with who does Melbourne United play? We'll find out very soon. But it all goes down to that. But we need to focus on this game. So the play of the game. Now we're all making really short reason part is they just continue on. Now, we haven't seen a big start, we haven't seen it for a long time, but Melbourne United just continue to get their talent up and running. You know, they've got some great rebounders in this team, and pretty hard to go through a team that needs to find a respect to be my player of the game. And I'm going to give it to Let's just give it to Tyson Walker from the Melbourne United. 22 minutes, 13.42 steals, four from eighth in the field, 50%, four from six, sixty six point seven from the field. We have no three-point attenders. We have five from five in the field and new rebels at that. But well done to Tyson Walker from the Melbourne United Guard. I reckon that's it. Yes, it is. Here we go. So today, who here we go. Start back to back. We're back in Brisbane, tack on Southeastern Melbourne Phoenix and the Perth, Wildcats, Ealhawk. What a game that was. And it was a hoop to hoop. Let's get drive into Brisbane. That's where we are at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre instead of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Lol. So, well, well done. 109 Southeastern Melbourne Phoenix continue to score 100 points. 86 Brisbane Bullets. So quarter by quarter, sale of the Phoenix, 23-20, Brisbane. 23 again, Phoenix, the Brisbane Bullets, 19. 37, Phoenix, 22, Brisbane. Better quarter. Better for the quarter for the Brisbane Bullets. Was 26. So there you have it. A mother heavy defeat. A mother strong defeat. 23 points. Once again, they are looking one of the best teams in the NBA right now. The both Melbourne teams are in the top three. Even the top four is this easy to pronounce in that way in general sport. But it is such a heavy, heavy defeat. So yeah, it's well, it's Melbourne Phoenix. They have never won a championship in that short term. There used to be a team called Melbourne, same team but magic in the in the 70s. And go and check that out because there's some big history news about that. So look, there's so many great players and teams. They've got the best rebound team as well, the other Melbourne team. But this is a very good, well-balanced side. But out of doubt, I'm going to just get driving to my player of the game. There's nothing else to say that, you know, Brisbane are a good team. I think they they desi have the death team in the comp. But have they got enough to be my player of the game? That's the big thing. You know, you may you just shot big threes and you know drive hard to the ring, but reruns win games, be the second moments, and I ain't gonna give it to a team that well earned my play of the game. I wish I can give you two, but this is about the player of the game, my opinion. Evans in the losing team. I did any AFL, but there's something magical. This could be two players of the game, games of round three. But even though this player from the Phoenix may be done really well, I'm gonna give it two to the big Tylee Howardson center from the Brisbane Bullets. Absolute dominate. Work hard. 14 points was 32 minutes, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, five and eight, 62.5, 5'8, 62.5, basically to say no, he doesn't shoot threes, but a 4'7 from the field, 57.1. Three offensive, seven defensive, ten rebounds total. Well done, 2D B, Taylor, Harrison, Balak on your performance. Keep improving, mate. We now head to West of the We are at the Jungle A R A C Arena. For the Perth Right Cats again, Evil Hawk. These two go head to head like a battle. Who won it? Who think I should win it? I'm gonna share quarter quarter and they'll share who won it. So the Evil Hawks came out hard. 23-19, good start. 18 to 15 Evil Hawks. 18. 15. 24, Perth Right Cats, 11 Evil Hawk. They struggle hard and they spoke at three-quarter time, I believe, and go anywhere. 33, the Evil Hawk, 26-2, the Perth Right Cats, and 84, Perth Right Cat, 85. That's it, Evil Hawk, big blow victory. This is it. They are back. The chance are back. How can they believe that this is it? They can go to Perth and win, but struggle at home is a big difference. To have your fans at win entertainment center in Wanagon, Earl Hawk's land, to go to the jungle and to see the red and black army. The Perth Right Hart's army. Any way I it makes sense on your end. Congratulations to the Evil Hawks. Now, this is this is only in the season early in the season. This is the winch you need to win games to make it count. This is the game they needed to win. They are desperate now. Now we're only started this season. Only six rounds in it. Wow. Four weeks later, it'll be ten. So we're very close to Christmas season and spill and all that. So I'm gonna now make this short look perfect. Well done, all that career effort. You know, go to Cairns, take on the Cannes High Pants, then come at home, lose by points, a very painful thing. But who thinks Chewin might play the game? And it is J Valley Magee, the big center, 27.47 minutes, 24 points, 11 assists. We got three steals, one assist. We got one block, 11 from 18 from the field, 61.1, 11, 17, 7, 64.7. He wants one attempt, three-pointer, two from four from the field, 50%, five offensive sits or defensive. Congratulations on your game performance. Jay Muggie from the real hot big centre. Hope you enjoy playing in the NBL. And there you go. We'll see you soon for more NBL Sunday Hoots. Hello, welcome back. And welcome back to the Sunday Hoots. We got so much basketball to share. We got maybe one of the hottest tickets to share with you all. Melbourne United and the LA 36ers. And then we take Sydney and the Kings take on the Tasmanian Jack Jumpers. So what can I say? One of the hottest shooting range that I unfortunately not watched or made in nothing but 80% missing that first half to come in 8180. The Melbourne United I'll share my play of the game. Could have been very close. Ty Sam Walker, the Walker man shooter winning the game for them. Melbourne United and Well Factor will share the first quarter to quarter to the fourth quarter. How it all happened. It's LA coming out 17-14. Melbourne United took a 20-20 in the second. 19 Melbourne United. LA V6 is 18. And it was LA 25-2-22. Melbourne United. And that's the winning bucket. That's all you have to do is win by one point. Wow factor. That is it. So can you believe it? That we've got one game to go. We'll share that very, very, very soon. But how can one hottest tickets can be the second for the round? And oh my goodness, it's here. Well, I can't say too much, but it was a hottest really, it was shooting after shooting. Melbourne, well, they came hard in that second quarter to win lead, and all but three points at halftime, and very similar at three-quarter time. It was four points at three-quarter time, and it was a one point. It was close basically all day. And Adelaide winning her last quarter. It's very important to take on good team tonight. Lose, improve, you'll get the W. Best of luck all next week. This was a very important game for the LA 36ers. The most important is how can they retreat? How can they bounce back? And unfortunately did not happen, but that's okay. But now moving on to that play of the game. We can't go through a man who shot 10th and 10th in the field. A very hot ticket, 5 and 7, two offensives, 5 defensive, and controlled his failing. But this is a big one. Jesse Edwards is the player of the game. 25 points for nine under 20 minutes on average. Seven rebounds, one steal, one block, 10th and 10th in the field, and all that. We have 5 and 7 from 3 throw, 71.4, and 2 defensive from 5 offensive. And that is how you win. There you have it. Well, we'll see you after the Sydney Kings take on Tasmanian Jack Giampers. See you in a moment. Final game. Win Sydney. And what a game. Two or three best games of the round. We're in the rest of Western Australia at RAC Arena. We're still hawk packing on the road. Then it was Melbourne United at home. And Tasman, Jack Jumpers taking the road win. Two from one. What a clash. Here we go. Sydney versus Tasmania. Tasmania Jack Jumpers taking the win. 90 to 89. First quarter, Tasmania came out on top. 29-25 Sydney. Then it was Sydney Kings, Freddy. The 21 Jack Jumpers. 24 Sydney Kings controlling that quarter. The 14 Tasmania Jack Jumpers. And it was the final quarter. Cough it all. They're winning Sydney Kings. And it was just holding over the line. With the final 26 Tasmania 10 to the Sydney Kings. Well, that's all. If you like comments down below. Well, how is your team going? Love to hear from you.
