Welcome And How To Follow
SPEAKER_01You're new. Welcome above. Make sure you hit that follow wherever you get your podcast and hit that subscribe. Make sure to hit that like that's always gone and massive show. Aiden will be showing his thoughts from the rounds to end as well into end well, the NSA round reviews. So welcome aboard. I do apologise for having this out really, really late. I am going to try and get this out during the weekend as much as I want to share this out. So I'm going to start off. I'll share all this and then we'll get into Aiden. So yeah, what a game of football, and there's been some close games, some upset games, some well, most entertainment game. And Mars has been high scoring and under five points. And we do start with, and we're just going to drive straight into it. I'm not going to I'm going to show you my there will be a five best players from each team. We're not going to go into data and all that because Aiden will share his thoughts off that as well. So First Day night football at the MCG, the most vital game in the game. And it was 78,058, which was pretty good crowd for Thursday night. So these two sites, my goodness, what a game. And my thoughts didn't think it'd be this thinking it'd be a three, four goal from Collingwood to win this game. And that's what we are. Carlton Collingwood. This is one of the interesting riders that we have not seen. Carlton came out of the bull of this game, but great effort from Carlton, never giving up all game, only 5.6 feet. So the first quarter was pretty even great. That's pretty awesome. Then the second quarter, Cullen came out of and as well the third quarter, great say in full answer of the end of the third quarter. Then the final quarter, it just took one team to never giving up. That's why you play four quarters of football. You can't expect to be up by three, four goals, even five goals to win the game. And the team to have this all this energy and win this game. That is where Connollywood is not just 18 points down. And at the end of the third quarter, they took home the four points and they won by five points. So the final score 13, 10, 88, defeated 12, 11, 83. This is going to be interesting. And to wrap so to wrap this game, Carlton dominated all the four three quarters. Collingwood with the win, which is only one quarter. But Conniewood did stay in the contest, but that's the way to find the hardest way to win games. And that's a few teams have done that. So once again, well effort to Carlton heads up. Well done, Conniewood with the victory. Trying to share my layers of the game. And before I share that, I am going to now share that who is playing Carlton and Connie will. We all know answer rounds coming round the corner. So we know who Connor will play, and Carlton will take in phase three. So that was nice and smooth in the AFL out for that. So put the effort from that, so all in the mind. So some was Carlton's players. Really stood up, in my opinion, is Sam Walsh, Zach William, Nick Newman, Jacob Whitley in Patrick Crebs. Next, it's for Connor with Best with Dan Houston, Harry Perryman, Oscar Stone, and Ned Dafos. So Nets game Friday night football here on the B Do Show footage show and game number two. And we got some really one of the most best games. And really think about Amazing 2 back to back. How many think I should how many I've got the last two rounds? My goodness, it could be back to back, maybe three and a right, but we got the second game and we go to GM HBA Stadium. Then we go to the Sydney Derby. Now partly why I wasn't able to get this all updated is partly of a look I was on a camp. I won't go too much detail too. I'll be a little bit more data and update was done why I was on a camp and stuff like that but I did watch a little bit of these two games and look, nothing about these were not close. And Khan will will play in round seven and Zach against Frianto and Perth. So that's what I mentioned before. So and then Connie would obviously will face SN in the end that class, traditional, another great game to watch. So first up, wish for Sean Darcy and get well with speed recovery back in no time. So that was a little clinch I saw on the news. So trying to hit to Geelong in Geelong Jihe B a stadium for Geelong and the Western Border South. Really fast. So I'm just really really 33,200. A mother great crowd down at Geelong. 1917 131 8856. Another big win. So the reason why I said about Sean Darcy and this shoe fact of his the father of Sean is Luke Darcy did the same injury. Same round, same round, same round, different year, 2005. 21 years exactly that Sean Darcy did the same like his dad. So I'm just saying speed recovery. You are star Sean Darcy. You're a great part of the Western Bulldog warline and do well. Lots of injuries down at Foot Scray, which is the known for Western Bulldogs. It's a suburb in Melbourne, knowing that it was not going to be an easy game for the Western Bulldogs. Look, they've started well, the dogs, this season, and I went through the game at the Yellow Laval, and they look really dangerous and they look really good. Look out. But there's been some heavy defeats, and this is one of the heavy defeats. Geelong well done on the victory, and performance was great. Good, great. Yeah. Geelong started from the let go and was opening six goals to one, seven goals out of six goals to two. And then the second half came and really won the Western Borders four goals to one goal. Now Geelong pretty good in the first quarter, but the dogs are pretty alright. And final quarter, really, the same thing as the first quarter, really. I think there's a thing that the dogs knew there was going to be some injuries now. It's Jelong took everything to win this game. And Weston Bottles were tests to the ground and they did their best. Can't say too much. But Jeremy Cameron, Patrick Dangesville, Bailey Smith, Max Hone, and Lawson Humphreys from Jamong's best and Edge Richards, Bailey Williamson, Bailey Dale, and Matthew Kennedy. And Bailey Smith's former club took on that and the team will face for Schelong will take full out of Alable. Western Bordels face Sydney at Marble. Second game of double header Friday night at ESCG. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this, but it is life. We do head on to Friday night footy continuously at the SCG Sydney cricket ground, the 32nd Sydney Derby. Sydney and the GWS Giant go hit the head. The Sydney coming off a big win as well last week. GDS Giant, I believe, and also when I got around. Final score for this one is 175-107 to 8 goals, 1866 back, kicking across the game in the third quarter. GDS Giants came out of the third quarter and really dominated with the 40 early in the quarter. Sydney better on the night. In front of Bessie, each once to a porter half time, there was a lightning delayed holding of the game for 20 minutes. It's part of the A4 clearance rule to making sure everything is safe. It was very common in Brisbane and Sydney to have those kind of lightnings as well as Adelaide as well, but not all game football as yet. But overall, Sydney just started, took it control of the game, and knowing Sydney is a very strong capella team, all respectful for that. G Day S Giants, well, the came back, which a vital should be a very entertainment where it's going to be especially in Sydney Turby. Time to share. Well, it is time to share those players. The first ones for the Sydney Swans are Nick Bleaky, Nick Well, Isaac Key, well, Blake, Nick Bleaky, Brady Grundy, the stars from there, G Dice Giants, Best Rap, Lucky Hun Oliver, and Lucky Wakefield, Toby, Green, and Howie Winson. If I got six players, I do quite like Giants. One, two, three, four, five. Yep, I'm all correct with that. So the next one is it will face and take on the dogs at the Marble Sandy, as I mentioned before, with the Giants heading to Canberra, and they will face North Melbourne at the Comedy Good Oval, which is in Canberra. Trying to phase and into Super Super Saturday 40. Aiden has mentioned about the super three games we have. The most entertainment we go to the well Gold Coast at People's First Stadium. Second is Marble Stadium in Melbourne, and then return to the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. For Saturday, no football. Two of them out of three. Well, absolute maybe. This is maybe the best Saturday football we have ever seen in uh such a long time. And we've got to say it was all under 10 points. High scoring, that is a bonus. Alright, trying to face this. Really, one of the most entertainments I've seen in such a long time. So first up with alright, nine point high scoring. Well, that is, I've got to say, our gold coats and Essinan go head to head. 1717 118 Gold Coach, Essenon 78, 110. Gold Coast had more opportunities of over 24, 34 scoring shots to 25. So if Essinan kick more roles, really basically 12 more points, they win the game. But credit to Gold Coach, really control and drop the W, and that's all you want to see the Gold Coast on the Gold Coast. But Essendon, Balak, and well effort. It's great effort, I've got to say. First up, Gold Coast started really well as they don't want to respond. Essendon took the lead at three points at the main break. Second half, well, one it's Gold Coast Sons. Essendon fight back, you know, couldn't hold on at the end of the game. And really, it is a struggling. It's not easy to go to the Gold Coast in when Gold Coast have a pretty good team and win. And you know, heads up Gold Coast and as well, Essendon. Well, Essendon actually got the better accuracy over Gold Coast. So overall, I think Esslend have a bit more credit. But as Ada mentioned before, and listen all of that. So before I share my players, I'm going to share who is taking on which. So Gold Coast and Essendon as well. And Zach Brown is coming, and I can't wait to the most important of this show in football canada. Esalin will face Collingwood. Samsung because who I will take on, Gold Coast and Hawthorne. Well, what some entertainment football that will be in Lawn System in the city of Hobart, Tasmania. Now time to share my players. Gold Coast. Uh players are talking about the Youngland Prison Productor, Matt Rao Jared Woods. Now I do apologise, I'm unsure how to pronounce names. I will do my best to pronounce them. If not, I will do a mother not announced a different way, but I'll do everything I can to say the word in my ability. So for Essendon's Zach Marit, Archie Roberts, a mother player of the game, really clear. He's gonna be Essendon's best and fairest at this early of the season. He is one of the best players for Essendon, and hopefully he'll dominate continuously with Darcy Paris, Jake Hobwell, and Archie May. So that's a view of dominating the Essendon, and this is great, but you've got to keep in the game Essendon. Well, we come to the Nets, which is one the closest game of the round, almost the upset of the round, is which is Hawthorne and Port Ale went head to head at Marble Stadium. Three points the victory to Hawthorne 3011 89, defeated 30 eight eighty six. Hall accuracy, only 13 goals each and only three miners. So that is basically all. Hawthorne and Go Thorn continue start well with seven goals to Port Alex. Then the change from here, Portale king all the goals, six goals to Hawthorne. That's the three behinds. Knowing that Hawthorne 4, this is not maybe the best win for Hawthorne, but they'll take over. They did this against Sherlong as well. So Pudale create effort in the third quarter. Hawthorne just took over four goals to two at the end of that third quarter. It was even, which meant anyone can really win this match. Who it is, let's find out right now. Both teams get two goals and one team only get more behind, which is Hawthorne holding on that three point victory. I will give Pudale a massive credit. It's a really good credit. Only three points to face. Challenging against Shalong at the Yellow Lover in front of their supporters, which will get some confidence out of that. Knowing that Hawthorne is a really good team of that respect, as well as knowing that it's not going to be an easy game. Hawthorne, well done on the victory and holding a three-point victory. The players stand up for the Hawthorne hooks. The Nick Watson, the lizard, Jared Import, Jal Nikomi, and Josh Wood. Josh Widdy and Colin. Port Alade's best is winning draw, Kane Fellow, Jason Horn Francis, Zach Bundes, and Maya. Bad men. Now trying to, before we get into that, so I mentioned that Horten will face the Copper Suns in Tasmania and as well Port Adelaide will host Geelong Katz. That's sexy Geelong Cats. Time to face the one point separated between the two sides between the LA Codes and St. Kilda Saints. First up, St. Kilda, really the greatest effort to back to back at the LA D Oval, Saturday night football here as they will the Crows host the Saints. Could have the St. Kilda have two big wins in Adelaide. That's that is great to see both Free Huntel and St. Kilda playing in LA Doval two rounds in now back in Melbourne. And what was perfect for Friantle. I've got to say the LA Crows as well. I'm a close supporter. I wasn't happy at the start of this game. Now it's so such for the LA Crows. Now, LA Crows do play Brisbane, I'll share that once again. And St. Kilda will share that very soon. So then it changed everything. I am going to save right now and I'm going to share this right now. Perfect night for footy at the LAW. Not too hot, not too cold. The rain so trust it. I would say I would love to go to this game. But Fort was unavailable, was that a commitment? So it was 45,854. Another great crowd for Saturday Night Footy. Before I get into the players of the game, I've got to say that it was the second quarter really shown. St. Kilda keep fighting. That got a great midfield, I have to respect then it changed completely. It's now time to share the play of the game. So James Pinkley dominated William Mamila, another domination, Brandon Cork domination with strong, Josh Wall and Charlie Edwards. The reason why I gave Charlie Edwards first game for the LA Crows and he dominated that midfield. Totally dominate now. If he does not like against the Brisbane Lions, which the LA Crows do travel. Good news coming soon. We'll share the previews of selections and stuff. And as well, St. Kill will host West Coast Equals at Marble Stadium. So there are your two teams, St. Beth, I have to I've done the LA Cross, now St. Kilda's Justin Clair, Cullen Wiggy, Sam Flanders, Jack Hinggins, and Robert Marshall all dominate for the St. Gilda Saints. And I gotta say the last time these two met was that. So moving on to Super Sunday Ticket, it is all about super football. Three games left to share. Well, I've got to say the biggest upset for the round and the biggest round as well, the domination for the round. First up is we'll go to Marble Stane and then the MCG and then we will finish up at October Stadium. All right, let's strike into the first game. North Melbourne and Richmond. I can't say too much, but head high Richmond. Not an easy season to continue on. We know this injuries come through, but you're a young court side, and hopefully we'll get a win very soon. And I'll be more happy with that. So learn from a loss, and all the best for next round. North Melbourne, well done on a mother domination win. You'll have knowing that you are early improved in showing early stage of the season. Continue on that. North Melbourne are a very good team, and I have that respect. We know that Richmond are on another season of rebuilding. Richmond have great players coming in, joining another talent coming through the drive and hoping to get great talent. And we just for the next future Richmond for the Richmond Footy Club. Can't say too much, but Final Scored 2010, 130, defeated 713, 55. Big winners for North Melbourne and G guys Giants. That's where North Melbourne will face each other in Canberra. Richmond and Sir Eve against the Melbourne Demons on Ends and Eve for the round. Hoping to see a great action for between Richmond and the Melbourne Demons. Best players for North Melbourne, Halloween, Sicily, Cameron, Zach, Her, Luke, McDonald, Jack Darling, George War. Richmond's standouts are Jack Ross, Jason Short, Seth Campbell, Simonson, Ryan Kma, Far Line. Second game, what I think is the game off the round as well. The Yellow Cruz and the Set Kilda sets. We have the Melvin Demons and the Brisbane Lions. The point is a return at the MCG at once again. What a game this was. Only two points high screen, which is great to see at the MCG. Well done Melbourne on Holy Honor, two-point victory over the Brisbane Lions. Match quarter by quarter is both shared. Four goals each for the first quarter, then four goals as well. An early Melbourne King at one goal in the second quarter. The second half came it with all Melbourne over that third quarter, six goals to two goals. Then it could go in Brisbane, but Melbourne really had out of plans. Brisbane being the 10 they are during 2026 April Puncheship season. Four and a quarter for Melbourne to keep five goals. And Brisbane also had five goals, which taught it to Melbourne to a big victory. 104 to 102 is the final score. Melbourne Demons will take on the Richmond Tigers. I will say this dream per game. And the Richmond Tigers obviously will take on Melbourne. And the Insect Eve stayed dream for that. And Brisbane and the LA Cross at the gala will hopefully they'll bounce back for their supporters. This game was definitely one of the games in the round, as were the LA Croats' two top teams, high scoring lows, very tight as well. Trying to share the best of games for Melbourne are Ed Lunkan, Harvey Lockford, Max Gorn, and Kane. Chandler J. Calley, Bridgman's best, Darcy Ford Mosley, Harris Andrews, Will Ashroft, the Levi Ascroft as George Josh Dunkley. Well we come made it to the final game for round six. And we'll share round seven, which is Anzac round previews. We next up, we have the second, second, 62nd Western Derby. And that's riddle is done for the first for the season. So we'll share out for the second Sydney Derby. It's all done. We wait for the showdowner. It's gonna be a big rival there. It's Financial and West Coast. All West Coast and Financial is the correct amount. As West Coast hosts this game. Final score 14-1397 defeated 5-11-41. A mana big win through the Financial Duckers. Financial are looking better and better this season. Better than last year, in my opinion. Better kicking in this game. West Coast is knowing that games will be challenging during the season and knowing the victories will come as well. Especially that win in Adelaide against Port Anlade by true points. Will that is my thought. So I'm sham my players. I really want to make it short and sweet. Bandy Winning, Jay Williamson, Tim Kelly, Carly Reed, Liam Baker, and Tom McFarney. The Final Duckers are Jonathan Mazaby. Blue Jackson Chey Asthmus and the Moose Callan Strong. Trying to share my reviews, and so it's not I mentioned my delays are out very soon. So I am now going to do my best to get this out during the start, but it will be going during maybe the Saturday or Sunday during the as Australia is in standard time. Stay tuned for the getting this out as soon as I can. I am now going to share my tips and projections for Ansat Round. Let's get straight into it Thursday night. 40 at Marble Stain Western Bournemouth in Sydney. I'm going for Sydney to win this match. Friday night, very important round. It's the NZ. Eight pure classic traditional rival between Richmond and Melbourne. This is one perfectly a good crowd. And the game, my I'm gonna stick with Melbourne before heading to the MCG. I realise we need to go to UTAS, University of Tasmania. University which is in Lunchston in Tasmania for Hawthorne and Glockos. This is not the easy one to win and to win, but both coming off big wins. Glockhouse nine points over Essendon and Hawthorne holding at three points victory over Paul Annade. But I'm sticking with Hawthorne, it is where they are. Well, this is the 31st year with Essen and Croningwood go to head-to-head. This could be an interesting game. Croningwood aren't sure as well as Essendon. After this win, even Essendon got a nine-point defeat over in the on the clock host. And well, Croningwood just hold on. Five-point victory over Carlton. Was not too sure with this as well. I'm sticking with Essendon to take, but I may change my mind at the last minute. Well, with the next game, we got to head over to the Yellow Naval. Well, this is going to be an interesting game between Puralette and Geelong. Put out almost over the win in Marble Marble Statement. I guess whole format three-point loss. They all have a little bit of confidence. Geelong beak winners over the dogs. I'm sticking with Geelong. I think they're going to take care of Putano, but it should be a better game. Last time this met on Anzat, it was all Geelong. So hopefully a good decent crowd. Hopefully 40,000 had the LA'd over over in Perth. And it's going to be an interesting game with Frianto and Carlton. Sticking with Srianto. It should be a good game to win. Well, hopefully, to watch this game. Three games remaining for Anzac round at St. Kilden. Westcote's got head to head. I can't say too much with Westcottes. I think they're still learning the craft. They are looking much better than last year. One step better, but I am going to stand back up with St. Kil. They will bounce back. They're looking very good this season. Brisbane and LA, this could be the game off the round by fine. Hopefully a close game. Good news. And I'm going to share right now. Jordan Dawson is returned. Great to see the captain of the LA Cross. Play well, mate. Play your play your role, mate. Because we are back in you, mate. We will hopefully you'll have a decent, really good game. And yeah, all the best. And hopefully LA will win this game. Then the final game, we are in Canberra. GDS Giants and the Melbourne, sorry, North Melbourne Den Blues. This could be a good game to watch. I'm stinging off Melbourne because they looked pretty good early stage of the season. GDS Giants, I'm not sure. I'm done, all done with my projections. So I'm gonna review all my tips with Sydney, Melbourne Demon, Holdenhawks as an embombers, main change to Cronywit at the last minute before bounce time, John Cat, French Duckers, St. Kildrit, Saints, Adelaide, Rose, and North Melbourne boots. They are now. It's time to get Aiden. Oh Aiden, I can't wait. Take it away for your round six and round seven with Anzac round.

SPEAKER_00Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of the BJ Footy Show. I'm Aiden and I'll be going through all the action from round six and my thoughts leading into Anzac Day. Round seven. We're already a quarter of the way through the season. So we're already at that stage now. Round six. We start to see who's who and who's really where they need to be. Who's maybe got a little bit to improve on, who's jumped the shark, who's jumped the ladder, and who is in the cellar and who is at the top of the pile. We go Thursday night, two on Friday, three Saturday, and three Sunday this week for round six. And we go straight to the MCG for Thursday night football. It is one of the oldest rivalries in the sport: Carlton versus Collingwood. This rivalry, the black and blue, has been going for generations. You live for this day as a member of the Carlton and Collingwood football clubs. These teams have been in real wars against each other, and this one was no different. The final scores here, Carlton 12-11-83, Collingwood 13-1088. Collingwood win the game by five points. Now, Carlton were up big, and I mean really big at three-quarter time. There were three goals up, but it was it wasn't just three goals. It was three goals and Collingwood had been wasteful. Then we come to the final quarter, or shall we put it, the Nick Dacos show, because Nick Dacos had his hands on everything in that final quarter of football. Collingwood kicking seven to three in the final quarter to win this game by five points. Now, it wouldn't be a talk about this game without mentioning the other Dekos, Josh Dakos, who inexplicably gave away a free kick at the dying stage, the very dying stages of this game, where less than 10 seconds to go, they're about in the Carlton Four 50, and Carlton needed a goal for a draw after the siren, and it just stayed to the near side as they lost the game on that kick. Now it's another blunder for Carlton, it's another blow-up for the Blues, but this one really came down to Nick Dacos wanting it more. Carlton should not be ashamed by this one bit. They are they are much better. They had this game done and won at three-quarter time, but Collingwood and Nick Dacos came to show them in that final quarter. So, yes, it's another bad loss for Carlton, another bad look for Carlton, but it's not something I'm relying too heavy on because again, Nick the Nick Dacos factor there for Collingwood as well. Jamie Elliott having a good last quarter as well for the Pies, kicking a couple of goals. Now, player of the game, I think this one is relatively obvious. It's Nick Dacos. 128 AFL fantasy, one goal. 69 touches, 15 kicks, 24 handballs, six marks, and two tackles for Nick Dacos. Harry Perryman also had a great game, 114 AFL fantasy, 27 touches, 17 kicks, 10 handballs, and 11 marks for a triple double there as well. So great win for Collingwood. Carlton again just losing the ball at the final stages when it matters. Now we're gonna head down onto Friday night. Friday night the scheduling was a little bit weird this week. We had two teams playing on Friday night football this week. We start in Geelong, and the final score is Jeremy Cameron 10-1-61, Western Bulldogs 88-56. Oh, I'm sorry, there are other players who play for Geelong as well that night. Geelong 1917-131. Western Bulldogs 88-56. Not very often do we see in the history of this game when a team is beaten by the single goal kicking record of a single player. That has happened again here for the Western Bulldogs, or should I say, against the Western Bulldogs for Jeremy Cameron. Jeremy Cameron, seven at halftime. This could have turned into a real, real mess if the Bulldogs didn't have a good third quarter and they had a great third quarter. They do, however, have a lot of injuries coming out of this game that we're gonna get to. They lose Darcy, they lose Labratore, possibly lose Wadd, concerns over Richards, concerns over Bontom Pelly. So there's a lot of key names for the dogs who went down that night. And Geelong were just too damn sexy. They did what they needed to do. Prove a point. Geelong are right in the hunt again, as Dennis Cometti would say, the cat is still in the bag. And it was the bag for sure from Jeremy Cameron. 10 goals. Far, far away. Best on ground. Can't wait for him to get one vote on the night for the Brownlow medal. There's not really much I can say. Bulldogs did. They lost so many boys. They had one on the bench by the end of the game. Geelong just over the top for the whole game, outclassed them, outrun them, outplayed them. Jake Collard Jazny got a goal. This is how far we're stretching it. When Jay Collin Jazney's played 200 games with five goals, that's a big stretch for the defender to get in on the scoreboard. Player of the game, clearly, obviously, Jeremy Cameron. 141 AFL fantasy, 10 goal, 18 touches, 16 kicks, 2 handballs, and 10 marks. Second game on Friday for round six: the Sydney Swans versus GWS in the Sydney Derby. This one was very, very one-sided. Not to the extent of Jeremy Cameron versus the Western Bulldogs, but in the way this game played, I didn't watch much of this game when I checked over. I had a look at the Geelong score on Friday night. I saw that game was dead. Had a flick over to this one and the Swans, their ball use, their running, their carry so much better than GWS, JWS, also very inaccurate on Friday night. Rain delay at halftime for storms. Sydney came out, stayed composed, got the job done. This is what Sydney are gonna be like this year. Composed, controlled in the situation, no matter what happens. GWS, however, didn't really have much of a good night in front of the big sticks. Their quarters go five points, three points, eight points, and two points compared to their goals of two, one, two, and three. Toby Green had five behind for GWS in a match where Sydney, much the higher class, much the better team, much the stronger opposition. This really is a tone setter for both teams. The Swans, again, deliberate, composed, and lethal in front of goal. GWS, another bad night to stack in a row of bad nights in season 2026. My player of the game here in this one goes, and there's so many good choices, it's very, very difficult to choose. But I am gonna take Nick Blakey here. Nick Blakey had an absolute monster game. 120 AFL fantasy, one goal, 34 touches, 22 kicks, 12 handballs, four marks, three tackles from him playing out of the back line across half back. Now it is for super, super, super Saturday. What a Saturday of football. It was three very close games. We had final margins of nine points, three points, and one point across Saturday action. And we're gonna go to our first game up on the Gold Coast for the Suns versus the Bombers. And Essenden were really, really, really in this game. Let me tell you, ladies and gentlemen, Essendon played one of the best games that's played in a long time. They are on the losing M by nine points here to the Gold Coast Suns, but there is nothing bad to be said about this performance from the Bombers. Final scores here, Gold Coast 17-17, 119. Essendon 17-8, 110. The Bombers, much, much more the class side on the day. Even in the loss, they were probably the better team for much of this contest. You know, this was this was one of those games where you just feel like had they had more scoring opportunities, they would have won this game. Because it was 34, it was 34 scoring opportunities to 25. So a couple more scoring opportunities for the bombers, they do win this game. But they had they had a great second quarter, six goals in that second quarter. They were in the lead at half time. Then GW, then Gold Coast just slipped in again and ran out the game. Gold Coast, probably, as I said, probably the lesser team in this game, but still the winner. That's what matters when we come to looking at the top end of the table. It's only valid when you stack another one in your wing column and four more points on the premiership table. Gold Coast, get the job done against a valiant, determined Essington. So I think Essington's have been the real standout these last two weeks. Win against Melbourne in Adelaide, come here, do this against Gold Coast. Like from where they were at the start of the year, where they were three weeks ago, this is a change to Essington's side. The bombers. Okay, they're not back on the ladder, but they're back in terms of being able to keep up, keep in games, and play good football. And that for them is really what matters more at this point. My player of the game here, and there's so many good options. I have to give it to Zach Mara. 151 AFL fantasy, one goal, 34 touches, 22 kicks, 12 handballs, nine marks, and eight tackles for the former skipper of the Bombers. Second game of this super, super Saturday is Hawthorne versus Port Adelaide from Marvel Stadium. Final scores here. Hawthorne, 13-11, 89. Port Adelaide 13-8-86. And they did have a shot late with Georgiardis to take the lead. They missed that to the far side, and they end up losing this game by four points. This could be game of the year. This could have been game, this really could be game of the year if it wasn't for another effort from Hawthorne on Easter Monday. Play Adelaide again, just like Yes and a team who probably played above their weight in this game. Hawthorne, they did have two forwards out in Chole and Gunston. But Plat Adelaide, the respect has to be given to the power here because how well they played this game. And if it wasn't for Nick Watson, they could have won this game. But Hawthorne, it's another check in the box, is what it is. Saved by the wizard Nick Watson again. And he's he's a genuine star in this league now. He is putting out performances that win games for his team. And that's what every team is looking for. When they have key contributors out in their two top four, the two key forwards, where does it come from? It comes from Watson, it comes from Genevan, it comes from Sicily. That that's that's what teams need to be. Hawthorne is doing that. Poadlade, they had opportunities, they just couldn't get entry into the 450 enough cleanly in that final quarter. If they did, Poadlade could have been winning this one, but again, their players did stand up as well. Horn Francis had a great game, Butters had a great game, Bergman played solidly. So for Poadelaid, it's not about okay, we lost. It's we probably played better than we thought we would, and we nearly came away with the biscuits at the end of it. My flow of the game here is I'm gonna go Jarman Impy. Jarman Impy had an outstanding performance in this game. 115 AFL fantasy, 23 touches, 17 kicks, six handballs, 13 marks, and four tackles. Time to head to Adelaide Oval. Adelaide and St. Kilda is your Saturday afternoon. Saturday, sorry, Saturday night game for round six. It seems weird saying Saturday night when it's only the third game on the docket for Saturday, but it is what it is. St. Kilda started this game ridiculously hot. Four goals in the first quarter to one for Adelaide, then Adelaide with seven to two in the second quarter. Game then began to even out in the second half. Five goals to Adelaide, four to St. Kilda in the third quarter, then two to Adelaide and five to St. Kilda in the last quarter. Adelaide, your winners here. The final scores Adelaide 15-13, 103. St. Kilda 15-12, 102. Adelaide scrape by. They barely survive this encounter with Ross Lyon and the Saints. Now, for Adelaide, it's it's a matter of depth. They had some key players out for injury, personal reasons. The devs came in, the devs stood up and did their job. Just like Hawthorne. The devs came in, did their job. Better teams, more depth, just getting over the line. That's what happened for the Crows here. St. Kilda, St. Kilda, I'm gonna be hard here. St. Kilda had opportunities, just like Poor Adelaide did in that final quarter. But St. Kilda, they kept going to the long bowl down the line, and it kept getting turned around for Adelaide. When that is not working, you need to go somewhere else. In the last five minutes, St. Kilda went to the long bowl over and over and over again, and it always fell to Adelaide's advantage. So when that happens, you've got to find a new way to make it happen. You can't just go, oh, long again, maybe, long again, maybe, long again, maybe percentages add up. That's just mass. You might win one eventually, but eventually might not be within the time left in the game. Might be Tuesday at training. So when you had the opportunity, St. Kilda, you went back to the well that wasn't there for you. And that's what cost you. You couldn't get the ball into the 50 because you couldn't get the ball up to your half forward area. And that's what costs you. If you could get the ball up to half forward, you could have had a chance in those final minutes, in those final seconds. But the reliance on the long ball down the line ended up hurting you more than it did, and I think more than you think. Now, both these teams are probably where they need to be. Adelaide's starting to crawl back into that top six, top eight position in St. Kilda. Again, they're where they are normally. Tough team that always just comes up a little bit short. So the question now as we move into the midseason is can St. Kilda get these results and translate them into wins, or does this continue to happen? Because if this continues to happen, then St. Kilda start being St. Kilda. If they can translate a couple of these into wins, then you know St. Kilda could find himself in the wildcard at the end of the season. We go to a player of the game now, and I'm going to give it to Taylor Walker. 101 AFL Fantasy, five goals. That's all you need to worry about from the Big Texan. He's 35-36 this week, and he's still producing at a high level. Josh Warrell, again, another great game from him. 114 AFL fantasy, 28 touches, 17 kicks, 11 handballs, 11 marks, two tackles for Josh Warrell for a triple double for Josh Warrell. But you can't go past the Big Texan saving the day for the Crows once again. Now we get to Sunday, and there were some shocks on Sunday footy. We start at Marble. North Melbourne versus Richmond, two teams who probably are down the bottom end of the ladder from where early season projections were. North Melbourne, 2010, 130. Richmond, 713, 55. Now Richmond, they did have some injuries. They lost Toranto in this game. That is a big loss for a young soldier, lose one of their key veterans. But North Melbourne, the class above all day long. The Kangaroos are a genuine wildcard contender after doing this. I'm not discounting them anymore unless something goes completely wrong for them. North Melbourne are back. North Melbourne are back to where they were 10 years ago. The Tigers still again developing. Still a team who are finding their footing. But in a couple of years from now, they'll be where North are now, beating the bottom teams by 70 odd points. Now, I can't I can't be any more happy for North Melbourne. When I saw this result, I watched some of this game. I saw this result, and I'm like, at the end of it, I switched over to the uh Melbourne versus Brisbane game. We'll get to in a second. But I saw this result at the end of it, and I thought North Melbourne very well deserved. This is four years in coming, probably 10 years in coming, realistically four years in coming for the Kangaroo. Now, player the game. This one's pretty easy. This one goes to Paul Curtis. 99 AFL fantasy, six goal. Sixth goal from a small forward is elite at AFL level in 2026. 13 touches, 10 kicks, three handballs, six marks, and four tackles for Paul Curtis. Player of the game. Great effort across the park as well. Ross, great effort for Richmond. Sheesel, another near 40 disposal game. Zurha through the middle as well had a great game. McDonald, a great game. Davis Jr., he played his bit. Darling played his bit. Woodlaw, McKercher, the list goes on and on. Parker, Stevens, Daniel, the list keeps going for North Melbourne. Dry Simpkin, you know, and that's that's the difference between where North Melbourne were last year, where one or two players were getting the bulk of the gate and everyone else was spectating, to now where North Melbourne, everyone's getting in on the action, everyone's getting 20 plus disposals. And that's what makes these teams go from bottom end to real wildcard threat. We're gonna leave this one here. We're gonna jump over to Melbourne versus Brisbane. Celebrating the life and career of Jim Steins, an Irishman who came out to Australia and became one of the game's greatest ever. A Melbourne man through and through, he defined what the club meant during an era of lack of success. It is the club club's honour to dedicate a game to him, and this year it was Brisbane's time to be the opposition. Final score. Scores. Melbourne, 16-8-104. Defeated Brisbane Lions, 15-12-102. Melbourne winning this one by two points. Melbourne, just like their Northern counterparts, are a genuine wildcard threat. This game against the two-time back-to-back reigning defending. And they beat him. They won because Stephen King has got this club going on the right track. They were going, so they were slipping further and further away from a premiership under Simon Goodwin. Stephen King comes in, takes this list, doesn't make a lot of changes to it, builds on it. Melbourne suddenly probably not a real contender, but definitely a team in that sort of that wildcard outsider zone who getting a good run through the rest of the year, no injuries, no whatever, could definitely be there in September. Brisbane loss, but we know Brisbane starts slowly. This game was later on in the year. I think Brisbane's more in their form. Brisbane, this is, this is, it's it's a loss of it's not really a big loss. Okay, it's a big loss, but not in a big way. It's a it's a loss to a team who outplayed you on a day where they were on in one of their legends. And that's okay because Brisbane probably at the end of the day are still the better team. Results on weekends don't dissuade that. If I'm st if I step back and look at this, these teams, I say Brisbane should be beating Melbourne. If I look at how good Melbourne's form has been this year, apart from that big blip against Essendon and Gatherham, okay, this one probably wasn't expected after Gatherham, but their form this year so far has been very consistent and very strong. That's why Melbourne are here, victorious Jim Stein's game for them, and it's a great way to celebrate the life of one of the club's greatest player of the game in this one. And there's just so many good options. There really, really is so many good options. But I'm gonna give it to Ed Langdon. Ed Langdon played a phenomenal game. 103 AFL fantasy, 28 touches, 16 kicks, 12 handballs, nine marks, and one tackle for Ed Langdon. That performance crucial seeing Melbourne over the line in this one. Langford had three goals for the Demons gone, phenomenal in the rug again. Kate Chandler, three goals for Melbourne. Steele, again, phenomenal. You know, and it goes through again, like I was saying with North Melbourne, Cosie Pickett, Jai Cully, Turner, Tholstrap, Van Royen, three goals. My check kicked two goals. It's Melbourne really in the game again. And it's that that's spreading out. This is what happens when you spread the touches around and you spread the ball usage around. North Melbourne proved it against Richmond. Melbourne proved it here against Brisbane. Great teams spread the ball around. They don't go through, in terms of taking the stats, they don't go through one or three players. Now, one or three players do dictate the game, but the stats spread out across the ball. Final game of round six is West Coast versus Fremantle, the Western Derby. And it was a absolute docker demolition. Low scoring only only scores below 100 here. Fremantle 14, 13, 97, West Coast 511, 41, but 56 points when the score's considerably low considering the skill gap in the teams is you know something that is probably a lot bigger under the microscope than it is. On paper, West Coast really didn't hold themselves six points in the first quarter, Fremantle 2-4. Then from there, it was it was a runaway for Fremantle. West Coast only managing five goals for the game. Fremantle going two goals in the first quarter, then four, then four, then four again. So Fremantle showing that gap, showing they're miles ahead of where West Coast are right now. But apart from the first quarter, West Coast probably, again, that stung probably weren't able to get into the contest and you know being behind all day in your local rivalry, it doesn't help against a team that's very professional under Long Mew as Fremantle is, and Fremantle get the job done here. There's not really much else to say. Fremantle looking like a very good team this year, should be in the mix for the preliminary finals or grand final at a minimum. If not, it could be time for flag mantle. For the Eagles, as I said, it's the skill gap. West Coast used to do this to Fremantle during a period of time, and now it's Fremantle's turn to do it to West Coast. That's how these local derby work. It goes swings and roundabouts. West Coast will be back in the next couple of years, making this game more competitive. Player of the game in this one is Clark from Fremantle, Jordan Clark. 27 touches, 21 kicks, 6 handballs, 11 marks, 1 tackle, 2 for the defender from the Dockers. And ladies and gentlemen, that is it for round six. Now we're gonna quickly get into our tips for round seven, Anzac Day weekend. My favorite round of the year. Seven is Anzac round, as I said. Here's my favorite round of the year in the AFL where we pay our respects to those who came before us, who served this country in wartime, in all wars Australia's been in, not just the first and second world wars, but the Boar War and any other major combat. I should know this. I'm a history teacher. I should know this, but it's skipping my mind right now. Anyway, let's get to the footy. Thursday night, Anzac Day weekend. Western Bulldogs vs. Sydney. Now this one's a very, very tough one to call, or it should have been if Western Bulldogs had their bodies available. For that reason, Sydney win this one probably comfortably. Probably Swannies by about 50, I'd say. Swan Swan's by 50 here. Anzac Eve. Richmond v Melbourne. I think Melbourne are class above the Tigers here. And for that reason, I'm gonna take the Demons in this one. Now, because Anzac Day is a Saturday, the Anzac Day card is stacked. We have four games across the country on Anzac Day. We start at 12 my time, 12 South Australian time for Hawthorne versus Gold Coast from Loncester. Now, not often we get a day game in Tasmania anymore. Hawthorne, probably the favourites here because of the Tasmania factor, and for that reason, I will be taking Hawthorne at 2 50, the traditional Anzac Day game. Essendon versus Collingwood. If the Melbourne Cup is the race that stops the nation, this is the game that stops the nation. Essendon strong, determined, showing Anzac spirit fighting from beneath. Unfortunately, they are playing a red, well not a red hot Collingwood, probably a nearly red-faced Collingwood after their start in season 2026. This one is a real toss-up and not the sort of toss-up you have in an Anzac Day game that is illegal across the country in Tua. But I will be taking the pies in this one. Then on Anzac E, Anzac Day E, Anzac Day evening, Poor Adelaide versus Geelong from the Adelaide Oval. And just like they did against the doggies, the cats, Will Mole, the Power, and Geelong will be too sexy for the Power. We then finish our Anzac Day football with a trip to West Australia for Fremantle versus Carlton. And I can only see one winner in this one, that being the Fremantle Dockers. Carlton may not even get a start here in this one. Our Anzac celebrations continue in to Sunday football. We start at Marvel for St. Kilda versus West Coast. And again, this one is a toss-up between two teams who question marks are out on. But I will be taking St. Kilda in this one. We then go to Brisbane for the Lions versus the Crows. This is gonna be a great game. This is gonna be one of those games where, based on previous occurrences between these two teams, you are knowing you're getting something special. Being at home in Brisbane, the Lions will take this one. And we end our Anzac weekend football at Monaco Oval in Canberra, the capital city of the great country of Australia. The GWS Giants versus North Melbourne. And I'm gonna take the outsider in this one because it is Anzac weekend and you need to take an outsider somewhere. I'm taking the Kangas here. So to run through my Anzac Day, Anzac Day and Anzac week predictions, we have Sydney by 50, Melbourne, Hawthorne, Collingwood, Geelong, Fremantle, St. Kilda, Brisbane, and North Melbourne.
