Link Ahead with the City of Dublin, Ohio
Good trash talkin'. How your city is at your service to help you get rid of old documents, Styrofoam and so much more.
You may scratch your head after hearing Dublin Public Services Administrator, Michael Darling, say our recycling numbers are going down. That’s why context is so important on just about anything, right? Don't worry, Dublin still outpaces Ohio and the nation when it comes to recycle rates but overall, we're recycling less because packaging is getting lighter and lighter. It's a tonage thing and a good thing. This episode is super topical, too, as Lindsay, Bruce and Michael discuss the upcoming and ever so popular, Document Destruction day, which is now Sustainable Saturday! On October 14, you can bring everything from sensitive documents to old towels and sheets to be properly disposed of. Last year, you also kept more than 68,000 pounds of pumpkins out of the landfill by composting those gourds. Let's do it again this year as that effort begins soon, too. If all of this isn't incentive enough to recycle and compost even more, Michael shares some pretty big numbers on how all of these efforts create jobs and revenue!
