Justin Plunkett:
Hello, hello! Welcome back to Nectar of the Heart podcast. Today's episode is a solo episode where I'm going to talk about the astrology of this upcoming week. Well, more specifically, just one of the things that's going to happen this week.

So, if you're not as into astrology as I am, I hope you'll still stick around and listen, because what we'll be talking about today is pretty huge. It's a big energy that colors the whole year of 2022 for us all. It's something that's been building since the beginning of this year, but it goes exact this next week on Tuesday, April 12. But before we do that, I have a few announcements to get into.

So, just a reminder that my bookings are open for readings online and in person. So online over zoom or if you're in the Asheville area, we can meet up at my coworking space for a reading. Right now, I'm offering Birth Chart readings as well as Year-Ahead readings for Solar Returns. And you can do them at other times of year too, but kind of works out the best whenever it's your birthday. But for birth chart readings, it's great because we can dig into your natal chart, and talk about the different energies and whatnot that are at play within your birth chart and how to work with those. And then the solar return or the year ahead readings are really great too, because we can kind of take a look at the themes that are coming up in the next year for you. Which is so special to just have some insight and knowledge on the cycles that we're currently in as we grow and grow older. I really love the year ahead readings, because we just get to get curious about what's coming up for you and maybe you're going through some hard stuff or maybe you're going through some easy stuff. But regardless, we can kind of put a timeline to it, and I find that that really helps us out to be able to have context and clues and a timeline to work with. So, if you'd like to work with me and have a reading, you can feel free to book that on my website: the link to that is in the show notes. I'm thinking in the future I might add an option for astro tutoring, like one-on-one, learning a little bit more about astrology. But I haven't done that yet, but if that interests you, let me know and I might get encouraged to add it to the website sooner!

Another announcement. So eclipse season is coming up pretty soon here, and I have a workshop on my website that you can purchase where my friend Stephanie Sundara and I dive deep into the eclipse cycle that we're going to experience this year and part of next year (the eclipses in Taurus (♉︎) and Scorpio (♏︎). If you have any Taurus (♉︎) or Scorpio (♏︎) placements and you're curious how this energy might show up for you. It's definitely worth buying and soaking up the knowledge that we shared. And even if you don't have planets and Taurus (♉︎) or Scorpio (♏︎), it's still a big vibe, and learning more about how to consciously work with these energies is super worth it. So the workshop is called Extra Sensory, and you can find that on my shop and my website, or also on Stephanie's website, too. I'll link both of those in the show notes.

Okay, so… what is happening this next week that's just so important that I needed to make a whole episode for it? Well, the two planets, Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆), will be aligning in the sky. So to zoom out a little bit, the astrology in the years past, like 2000 and 2021 were obviously… intense. It's pretty obvious how that felt to all of us. And the big planetary happenings in those years were definitely not as cute as this one that's happening this year, that's for sure. So we had dynamics happening between a lot of the outer planets like Saturn (♄) and Jupiter (♃) and Pluto (♇) and Uranus (♅) over the last few years. So those definitely colored the themes of the whole year and still are to some degree. But this planetary energy coming through in 2022 with Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) coming together is truly a balm for the soul on many levels. But it also has the ability to sweep us up in emotion and can feel a little disorienting if we're not aware of what's going on. So I'll break it all down for you here and try to describe the feels and the vibes and what's happening. Let's talk about the two planets on their own, Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆), and then we'll talk about what they mean together as one.

[5:15]

So Jupiter (♃) is a planet all about positivity, joy, meaning-making, wisdom, gratitude, growth, and expansion, and birthing big ideas. On the other hand, Neptune (♆) is a planet that's very mystical and mythical and esoteric. It has a lot to do with compassion and the collective consciousness. And I know that that word gets thrown around a lot, “collective consciousness”, but I had an experience one time that kind of gave me a better understanding of what collective consciousness can mean, nd I think it's like that place where we have influence on each other, like a deep friendship that you have, and all the little roads and twists and turns that brought you to such a deep, close merging of your energies. So, yeah, maybe some of that merging energy is also part of Neptune (♆). So Jupiter (♃), on the other hand, it is about positivity and joy and making meaning. But on the other side, it has a potential of over-doing things or doing a little too much, or expanding and growing too much at once. As we see in this world of capitalism, growth all the time is not a recipe for greatness. Sometimes we don't need to be growing all the time. Neptune (♆) also has the potential of too much fantasy or being too in the clouds with her feelings. Neptune (♆) has tendencies towards illusion or delusion. It can be a draining or a diffusing feeling after a while, too. Neptune (♆) is really closely tied into the soul and the feeling of the soul. So Neptune (♆)'s energy can also tend to lead towards some tendencies of escape as a coping mechanism. You know, when we're in this world that’s so hard to live in in this day and age, a lot of times we want that feeling of returning back to the soul and where things feel better and copacetic. So, yeah, Neptune (♆) can have a little bit of an escapism energy. So that's just a little taste at a base level of those two planets.

So let's think about Neptune (♆) is very far away from us in the solar system. So, because of Neptune (♆)'s distance from the Sun (☉), it takes 164.79 years to orbit the Sun (☉) once, so about 165 years. So, Neptune (♆) was discovered in 1846, and that literally means that there's only been one Neptunian year since then. Like, only one Neptunian year has passed since the discovery of Neptune (♆). So that's pretty trippy. These two planets, Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆), they actually meet up together in the sky every 13 years, but they've been meeting up in other parts of the Zodiac while we've all been alive, and they haven't come together in Pisces (♓︎) for the last 166 years. So this alignment that we're experiencing here in April of 2022 is a really big moment.

So, Jupiter (♃) rules two signs of the Zodiac Sagittarius (♐) and Pisces (♓︎). Sagittarius (♐) is the more outward expression of Jupiter (♃), and Pisces (♓︎) is the more internal expression of Jupiter (♃). So Sagittarius (♐) is where we're feeling like experiences that feel larger than life, and big beliefs, and we're feeling boisterous and bold and fiery. Pisces (♓︎) is the more internal and inward Yen expression of Jupiter (♃), where we're going into the soul, into our feelings, all our desires, and learning how to embody all of that mixture. Jupiter (♃) is typically a planet that brings us stability and guides us towards meaning-making. Whenever we're having transits of Jupiter (♃) in our chart, Neptune (♆) is typically a planet that dissolves or has an action of dissolution. So this time that we have Jupiter (♃) and Pisces (♓︎) here, having Neptune (♆) so close by might make it a little harder for us to feel into the meaning and the positivity of Jupiter (♃)'s message right now, but just because Neptune (♆) can feel a little foggy at times. So we'll likely have experiences throughout this whole year of oscillating back and forth between these two extremes of finding meaning in the world, but then also having that meaning clouded by other factors or having less energy or vitality to work with that influence. So that's Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) separately, I'll definitely say more about it in a little bit, but to bring them together and kind of blend the two and what this experience means for us.

[10:24]

So it's been building the whole year: Jupiter (♃) has been in Pisces (♓︎) since the end of last year. So you can kind of just imagine, like, New Year's, Jupiter (♃) moved into Pisces (♓︎). This whole energy of Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) coming together, it's all about dreaming, and imagining, and getting in touch with what our soul is longing for (since Neptune (♆) is about the soul). It's a time to be really aware of our hopes and our dreams and our wishes and being aware of where those wishes and hopes are coming from. Like, what part of our soul is asking for to be heard in this time? Remember how I said Neptune (♆) can be a little bit of an escaping energy? So if you're feeling that kind of energy right now, it's like, “Why are we feeling the escaping energy? Where do we need to let loose a little bit? Where do we need to let go? Let go?” Not let loose, but… getting to the root of why we feel like we need to escape or get out of a situation, and it's about listening to the soul's message there. Jupiter (♃) plus Neptune (♆) can lead to a feeling of scatteredness or diffused energy, but also the potential for boundless positivity and creativity, too. It just depends. So, yeah, if Jupiter (♃) is the planet where we feel happiness and growth and positivity, and Neptune (♆) has a way of having a boundless or, like, a borderless quality, when I bring those two things together, in my mind, it's like, “Wow, like Positivity with no bounds, like happiness that spreads across boundaries.” So that sounds special, right? We could all use some of that.

Jupiter (♃) plus Neptune (♆) can kind of have the feeling of being swept out to sea, since Pisces (♓︎) is an image of the ocean or… yeah – an image of the ocean. And Neptune (♆), like I said, can feel like a fog or a haze or mist, and sometimes when we're going through Neptune (♆) transits in our lives, it can almost be a little unnoticeable at first until someone points it out. So, if you're feeling stuck in the haze or feeling foggy right now, that is completely understandable, and that's when the faith and the trust aspect of Jupiter (♃) comes into play. So just knowing that the fog and the haze isn't a permanent thing and, with that in mind, does it make it easier to be in the fog? Does it make it easier to be in this liminal space when you know that it's not permanent? We can't always be going with full force ahead as much as our culture wants that. Sometimes these slower and more methodical or intuitive times that we're maybe brought into are exactly what we need to get us in touch with our inner compass so that we can continue to move forward.

I think Jupiter (♃) plus Neptune (♆) can give us the ability to distill wisdom from our experiences over the last few years because Jupiter (♃), at the beginning of 2020, was when Saturn (♄) and Jupiter (♃) and Pluto (♇) all came together. So that started a new cycle with those planets. And then here Jupiter (♃) is starting over a new cycle with Neptune (♆), about a twelve/thirteen-year cycle. So it feels like, you know, these last few years have been so intense and such heavy transits. But then this one in 2022 has the potential for healing and growth and spiritual – finding the wisdom and the little nuggets of wisdom within our experience over the last few years. And it has the opportunity to give us huge compassion for the world and for ourselves. There's an awesome book called The Archetypal Universe written by Ren Butler, and he essentially has – it’s like a whole guidebook on how to read two different planets’ energies together, or up to three or more. So I'm going to read a little clip from the Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) page.. so some of the principles here are:

“...Grand idealism and vision. Dreams-come-true optimism, a  rich and creative imagination, experiences of oceanic ecstasy, a spiritualized view of what constitutes success in life. On the other side, tendencies towards rose-colored over-optimism, mirages of a grand prosperity, excessive religious trappings and ceremony, and spiritual materialism…”

[15:43]

Whew! So…lots there to unpack. A lot of astrologers have mentioned that past Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) conjunctions can lead to like, an upswing in cults? And I'm not here to say that we're all going to get swept up in a cult this year. (That would be horrible if we did.) But yeah, there is a need for discernment and having maybe a little bit more of an analytical eye whenever things seem really shiny on the surface, or someone's promising you all the answers to your growth and your healing, you know, to be real. Like, we have the answers within ourselves. We don't need to be getting them from someone else. And of course, assistance is great, and finding meaning within religion is a huge part of Jupiter (♃), I think. But there's also within the Neptune (♆) side, it's just like being aware of what might seem too good on the surface. Let's see…

“...Feelings of faith and wonder, grand ideals and visions and expansive inner life, feelings of ultimate safety, a sense of being buoyed or lifted from within, blissful states of cosmic unity, reconnection with divine consciousness, qualities of forgiveness, intolerance, altruism and generosity…”

So, yeah, these are all some of the, like, really sweet things that can come from Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆). So let me just talk to you a little bit about the history of Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) cycles. So there's a really great article online that was written by astrologer Gray Crawford, and he quotes another really famous astrologer as well. But I'm just going to read a few different features from this blog post that he wrote.

“...The conjunctions between Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) emphasize unified collective global power in a collective liberal order with collective movements that have liberal democratic tendencies favoring more universal moral values…” So, yeah, we're switching right now from how Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) feels on a personal level to how it looks on a grand level, and then we'll kind of come back to the personal in a second. “...For example, women finally gained the right to vote in the United States of America, (or so called United States) through 19th Amendment being ratified less than a month before the Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) conjunction in 1919. Moreover, both the first and second World Wars ended during periods of conjunctions between – you guessed it! – Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆)...” So with the League of Nations being formed following their conjunction in 1919, and the United Nations being formed following their conjunction in Libra (♎︎) in 1945.

He says “...it's remarkable that both attempts during the 20th century to form governing bodies that brought world powers together on behalf of avoiding another world war occurred in exact alignment with Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆). And even the ubiquitous peace symbol that's commonly used today was invented in 1958 with Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) within a few degrees of each other in Scorpio (♏︎). One of the things to note is that across the world, there's been an upsurge in strikes and protests on behalf of labor movement and workers rights whenever Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) come together. For example, the march of unemployed workers to Washington, DC during the time of Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) conjunction in Gemini (♊︎) in 1894, was the first significant protest march in history upon the capital of the United States.”

This one is really standing out to me because lately we've been having so much positive news come through about unionizing, and the success that people are having in being able to have their unions at various companies or corporations that they're working within. So I think that we're going to see more of this. We're going to see not just unionizing, but, I think, a recognition of labor and how our labor is what keeps these big corporations going. I think worker’s rights and the overhaul of the nine to five work life – well on the way – but I think Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) energy is going to help propel us forward into that. So, yeah, those were kind of some of the Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) conjunctions of the past, and then the most recent one was in 2009. And he says “...there was not only the inauguration of President Barack Obama, the first African American president in the nation's history, there was also the landmark Affordable Care Act, signed under law by President Obama that dramatically expanded healthcare coverage to the US. populace…” So we can kind of see there the positivity of Jupiter (♃) being spread across the land as Neptune (♆) into creating something more accessible in our health system. And then there's some other things drawn upon from the past, too, as well, with Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal after the Great Depression, also under Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) influence, too.

[21:19]

Okay, so those are some of the history just to kind of give you an idea of how this has worked out in the past. But to kind of bring it back to a personal level, where we're dreaming and we're imagining and we're getting in touch with what our souls needs are: so I think some ways to work with this energy, it peaks on April 12, this Tuesday, but this whole week around this conjunction is important. And I think it's a great time to take a long, long bath or a shower, if that's what you're into. And spending extra time in the water, since Jupiter (♃) Pisces (♓︎) is like an image of the sea – especially if you live near an ocean – then it's a perfect time to go be with that body of water. I think it's a great day to meditate, to tap into you. It could be a day to get a little trippy. I'm not going to suggest that for everyone, only if you're in a place of feeling grounded and you have enough time to integrate the experiences and such, but… Jupiter (♃) plus Neptune (♆) definitely lends to a feeling of expanded states of consciousness, so I'll just leave you with that. But embodiment is key since this is such an ethereal energy, so don't go too far out there, but it's a moment and the stars, where we have access to wider states of consciousness. So if you want to work with that energy, you can. Maybe just taking the time to look at the stars or look at the sky and just, like, spending some time meditating on the open, expansive views from the top of a hill or from a mountain, that's definitely some Jupiter (♃) energy there. Or if you're near, like I said, if you're near the ocean or other bodies of water, it's a perfect time to be near those bodies of water and steepen their energies. Maybe watch a fantastical or mythical movie that inspires you. For me, that's always like Lord of the Rings. It's not something that I watch all the time, but when I do, it's always very inspiring of the potential of what humans can do in the face of danger, or in the face of really tough times. So, yeah, maybe some kind of mythical movie that takes you to other realms or other storylines, like, that could be a good time for this. It's a good time to just ask yourself deep questions and journal to yourself, talk it out in therapy, whatever it looks like for you. I think by now you're catching my drift that it's seriously just like a special time to just tap into the esoteric side of life, a time to tap into your faith and optimism and dreams, and yeah, if you're not really into the spiritual side of life, if that's not your thing, it doesn't have to be just that. It's like I said, just getting in touch with what your soul has been longing for and calling for, and I think that shows up in so many different ways for us. Some people, the soul might speak to you through your body, and lessons through the body and your health, or other people. It might be speaking to you through your dreams and what are these same images that keep coming back in your dreams over and over and over? Are you listening to them? Other people, it might be experiences in the workplace that have been showing you what you do and don't resonate with. So, yeah, whatever these little messages are that are coming up for you, it's a great time to just honor them and tell them that you're listening. And then one more thing, just remembering it's a time to be sure that we aren't looking at the world through rose colored glasses and ignoring the practical sides of things. So to get a little bit more detailed on the timeline here and why this one week in April affects the whole year:

We've got Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) aligning here in mid April. But later on, later on in April, Venus (♀) comes in and joins the party, too, and will join up with Jupiter (♃) at her degree of exaltation, which is a fancy way of saying it's one of Venus (♀)'s favorite parts of the zodiac to be in. So this will happen on April 30, and that's the same day as an eclipse. So definitely keep your eyes and ears out in the news for some potentially fortunate news. At least, I hope. Eclipses are wild cards, so who knows, really, but… typically, Venus (♀) and Jupiter (♃) coming together means peace and harmony are a little bit more available to us. So, yeah. We'll see!  And Venus (♀) has been going through it! Like the Venus (♀) retrograde was right next to Pluto (♇). I talked about this in the last episode a little bit, but the Venus (♀) retrograde that we had in the winter was right next to Pluto (♇). So that was a deep chthonic time. And then we had Venus (♀) between Mars (♂) and Saturn (♄), which was another, like, tough experience. And then to see that Venus (♀) gets to be in her favorite part of the zodiac, her favorite degree, even like her favorite sign, like she's exalted in Pisces (♓︎) and then gets to meet up with one of her best friends, Jupiter (♃), at the degree of exaltation, 27 degrees of Pisces (♓︎).

[26:55]

This is huge. I think that's like a re-...Hm… It's like if Venus (♀) got really dried out through this hot experience with Pluto (♇), and Mars (♂) is in Saturn (♄), this is like a rehydration moment for Venus (♀) where she's going to be moisturized, and covered in herbal oils, and lifted up. Whew! Sounds so nice. Yeah. Maybe this is a good time to oil yourself. Add oil to the bath and drink lots of tea. Spend time in water, spend extra time in the bath, drinking lots of water, spring water, things like that. So, let's back up again, I got a little into that part.

So Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆). Mid April, late April, Venus (♀) joins the party. And then mid May, Jupiter (♃) is actually going to move out of Pisces (♓︎) and go into the next sign, Aries (♈︎). So it may be that whatever is being seeded right now in this new moment of Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) starting a new cycle together, it might be that after May 10, whenever Jupiter (♃) goes into Aries (♈︎), we might start to see some of the momentum, like, move forward in some of these ideas, or these things that happen on a grand scale for our society. So that's mid-May, and then later on in the summer, in late July, Jupiter (♃) will start to slow down and start to go retrograde and begin heading backwards towards Neptune (♆) and Pisces (♓︎). And they won't make an exact alignment again, but it's super important to note that Jupiter (♃) is going to be at least heading back to that same area of the sky. So we might see some like, backtracking there. And then by October, Jupiter (♃) will for sure be back in Pisces (♓︎). And interestingly, at the same time, Mars (♂) will be slowing down for retrograde across the way in Gemini (♊︎). And that forms a square aspect to Neptune (♆) and Jupiter (♃). A square aspect in astrology signifies some, like, conflict or tension, and what Gray Crawford describes this time frame to look like, he says, “...a volatile finale to our initiation into the new cycle between Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆). It will be essential during this time to maintain relationship with the shadow side of belief, so we don't exacerbate conflict with others through becoming a dogmatic crusader or persecutor. Constructively, the conflicts that erupt in correspondence can bring about important disillusionment for those in need of having their crystallized beliefs confronted and questioned…”

So, yeah – October does not feel as easy, but that's why I'm kind of bringing this whole timeline into view, is like, here in this moment of April, we have a big opportunity of feeling into just Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) on its own, and plus Jupiter (♃) and Neptune (♆) plus Venus (♀) later on in April. So really paying attention to what's going on in your internal life right now, what are you feeling and healing and all those Jupiter (♃) + Pisces (♓︎) keywords. So we have this unfiltered moment with these planets in April, and then it starts to change throughout the rest of the year. But this is like light years, leaps and bounds better than what we've had the last few years. So I definitely think it's a time to just tap into what you've learned over the last few years and how you're moving forward with that. Yeah.

[30:43]

Just to quickly go through the different rising signs and say what area of life that this Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) conjunction might be influencing. This is not by any means an in depth explanation, but I'm just going to say the house that it's occurring for you.

So for Aries (♈︎) Rising people, this will be occurring in your house of inner worlds and your house of sacred solitude. So it's important to take sacred time alone, to really just, like, back away from normal life and spend your time taking care of yourself, by yourself.

Taurus (♉︎) Rising it's your house of community, friendships, alliances and groups of people. So it's a great time to tap into your friendships, and the people that you really resonate with in this world, and the people that you want to have by your side as you take on these new dreams and visions of this cycle.

Gemini (♊︎) Rising it's happening in your house of career and legacy and visibility, so really taking note of what you want on a sole level in your career, life or the ways that you want to show up in the world.

Cancer (♋) Rising this will be in your house of higher learning, worldview and travel. So I think really taking a look at how the last few years has changed your worldview and the ways that you relate to spirit and the ways that you relate to life and cultures, travel.

Leo (♌) rising this is a house of shared resources and house of the psyche. So this one feels a little different than it feels a little heavier, like… Neptune (♆) has been at work in this house of the psyche for years, maybe the last ten or eleven years, but then Jupiter (♃) is coming in and providing a little bit of stability, so hopefully this is a time for you to be kind of like taking inventory in on those parts of your life. And things like debts and taxes, and some of the sticky stuff in life.

Virgo (♍︎) Rising this is your house of relationships and connections, so really getting into what you want in your friendships and your relationships in life, and how you want to come across those relationships. Do you need healing in your relationships (like that Jupiter (♃) energy) or do you want to be the healer? I guess that's a weird way to put it, but what are you trying to bring forward in your relationships?

For Libra (♎︎) Rising this is your house of health and wellness and the house of daily routines to upkeep your health and wellness. So whatever it is that your body has been asking for on a deeper soul level, it's time to listen in there and see if you can make a plan to work with that.

Scorpio (♏︎) Rising, this one's pretty juicy. This is your house of creativity, house of pleasure and creation. So I'm excited. for what's coming through for Scorpio (♏︎) Rising. Very interested in what creative projects you have going on.

Sagittarius (♐) Rising this is your house of home life, private life and ancestry. So really tapping into those kind of sole needs on what you want your home to feel like and your private life to feel like, and maybe some things coming up with family as well.

Capricorn (♑︎) Rising this is your house of local community, so your local environment, maybe siblings and relatives as well, and your daily rituals.

Aquarius (♒) Rising this is your house of resources, finances, cash flow, self worth, and Pisces (♓︎) Rising this is the house of you:a very personal part of your chart that relates to you and your body and your expression in the world. So this is like a big Renaissance moment for Pisces (♓︎) Risings! Very cool. Right?

Okay, so that was probably a lot of information. I hope that it made sense. I could talk about this for a lot longer, but I think this is probably a good glance for now. So that about wraps up what I have to share with you today. I hope that you got something out of it and it wasn't just too much info thrown at you. As always, subscribe and rate the podcast. Leave a review so I know how it's landing for you, and message me to let me know how this Jupiter (♃) Neptune (♆) energy is showing up in your life – I'm super curious, and would love to hear what that's looking like for you. Yeah, so like I said, just tap into this energy while you can and see what it has to say for you. And we'll be back with another episode soon on The Eclipses. All right!

Much love.
