The Waterfall Journey
SERIES 4.2. - SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT - a talk
THE IMPERATIVE OF PEACE FOR THE END TIMES
Religion can look complicated and inaccessible. Jesus didn't make it so. Indeed when it's stripped back, there are a few words that lead us simply into the profound truths, that Jesus died to give us as we walk in his footsteps.
Abide in the Father's presence
Believe
Trust and Obey
These 4 words will get you started on the journey of discipleship.
Peace is also word of profound significance. In Psalm 34 a Psalm of David he encapsulates the pathway of the follower.
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:11-14
In the fear of the Lord turn from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it
The Waterfall Journey is the Father's heart to bring us into the living, vibrant relationship He always intended for us. We can be restored, renewed and live in all the fullness that Jesus died to give us. Leading and guiding us on this journey back to the heart of God is the Holy Spirit's ministry, our part is being willing to travel and accept God's invitation to join Him in His story.

IN THE WORLD
In the world peace often means the absence of war or the absence of noise.
We will remark on a scene being peaceful because it's quiet and little is happening.
We may wish for a peaceful life when we mean we don't want any interference, disruption but space to live life our way.
The war and politics of our time mean that many live under the threat of violence uncertainty, fear, anxiety, big feelings are part of life. Global warming and climate change mean there is no guarantee of safety or security.
It would seem that peace in this world today is unattainable.
SO HOW DO WE SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT?
For people who travel with God there is a physical world and a spiritual landscape. We are in the world and being in the end times means only that the chaos will continue in the physical realm. However, we also walk a spiritual landscape and the peace on offer will carry us through the day-to-day of our lives and whatever is to come.
It is important in the days ahead that the people of God hold the peace of heaven in their hearts.
Paul as he writes his final exhortations to the Phillippians 4/17 summing up his message says peace comes from being close to God and it will guard our hearts and our minds.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Be thankful, come close to God and speak with Him. Don't be anxious. This gift of peace from Jesus has substance it can fill us and quiet our hearts and minds.
The peace of Jesus is internal. His peace can fill us.
The peace Jesus spoke of holds the promise. John 14:27
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
There is something different in this peace this is not the absence of things but is a meaty and solid gift being passed from Jesus to us ' Peace I leave with you'
It is a peace we have to unwrap like any gift: ' My peace I give you'
It is rooted in Jesus and once received it will deal with our anxieties and fear.
In this chapter Jesus states 'I am the way the truth and the life', that He and the Father are of one mind and to believe the miracles that He's done. He assures us that He will do whatever we ask in His name that it may bring glory to the Father and that as we believe, trust and obey the Holy Spirit will teach us all things.
Jesus connects us to the purposes and heart of the living God and He gives us a promise His peace is ours.
This peace is not about the absence of something but is a meaty mystery.
SO HOW DO WE RECEIVE HIS PEACE?
In part it is about KNOWING THE FACTS, who God is, the Biblical truth, the firm foundation
It is also an EXPERIENCE the Truth invades us and that is where, in a real and organic way, it becomes part of who we are and we are able to access the place of peace.
From JESUS CALLING MARCH 1St
Trust will bring you many blessings not the least of which is my peace.
I have promised to keep you in perfect peace to the extent that you trust in me.
The world has it backwards, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance and security systems.
My peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances. Though you lose everything else, if you gain my peace you are rich indeed.
Being aware of God's peace can be difficult because of our woundedness.
We can hear the words that would bring peace but they don't register.
Walking as a disciple is a privilege but nothing falls into your lap.
We have to engage with the Bible we have to BELIEVE, to TRUST and to OBEY
we have to use our IMAGINATION we have to enter into truth.
We have to wrestle experience out of knowledge.
When we engage things become real in a new way.
We need to learn about HOW TO ACCESS THE PLACE OF PEACE for out of this pace we will flourish even in darkening times.
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:5-6
TRANSFORMATION IS NEEDED to live according to the Spirit and to follow in obedience the leading of the Holy Spirit.
TAKE ACTION AND SEEK PEACE
HAVE A SECRET PLACE OF REST AND PEACE TO MEET WITH GOD
MAY BE A REAL PACE OR IMAGINARY
IMAGINE JESUS OR THE FATHER THERE
BELIEVE AND TRUST IN WHO GOD IS
BRING YOUR DISQUIET AND ANXIETIES
REST OR POUR OUT YOUR HEART, LISTEN, ENGAGE
TRUST
WRESTLE, REMEMBER WHAT HE HAS DONE, WHO HE IS. STAND ON HIS WORD
DON'T STOP UNTIL YOU HAVE HIS PEACE
WE ALL NEED TO BUILD THE HABIT OF RECEIVING PEACE BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO NEED TO BE ABLE TO HOLD PEACE IN OUR HEARTS, TO GUARD OUR HEARTS AND MINDS for what is to come.
