something powerful that happens. There's a different energy. But if we are honest, okay, sisterhood, it has its layers. Yeah, it has its layers. Because while many women know the beauty of friendship, support, mentorship, um, and loyalty, many women also know the pain of disappointment from other women. You know, somehow some know what it feels like to be celebrated publicly, but talked about privately. And some know what it feels like to show up with a pure heart and still be misunderstood, excluded, or envied. And I'll be honest with you, there's something that I personally understand. I've been there, done that, and can write an entire book about it. Okay. Wait, wait. Okay, I think that's an idea. That's an idea, that's a thought. But you know what? There have been seasons in my life where I gave genuine love and friendships, real support, real presence, real loyalty. And over time, I've learned that not everybody around you is comfortable when you when they see you growing. You know, sometimes the very thing that should inspire people, it triggers something in them, you know? And that can hurt, especially when you've

been sincere. Because as women, many of us know what it feels like to want closeness, to want authentic connection, and to want that feeling of having women around you who clap for you without secretly questioning why your life is moving the way it is. And the truth is, some women struggle with that because they are still healing. You know, a heel woman moves differently, y'all. A heel woman can look at another woman's beauty, success, confidence, uh, relationship, peace, or purpose, and not feel threatened. She can appreciate without comparison, and she can celebrate without secretly measuring herself. And that's why sisterhood matters now more than ever. Because we are living in a time where comparison has become too common. You know, social media has made many people look at each other through a lens of competition instead of connection. You know, people are watching who's traveling, who's building, who's glowing, who's loved, and who is winning and who is being noticed. And if a woman is not grounded within herself, she can begin to compare her chapter to someone else's highlight. But another woman's light doesn't take away from yours. It simply proves that light exists in the room and can exist in the same room. That's why I believe women need women, not fake support, not selective support, not support only when someone is struggling, but real support. kind where you speak well of a woman when she's not present. Because let's be real, how you speak about a woman when their absence says a lot about your heart. And during Women's History Month, I also think about women who, you know, came before us, women who carried, you know, these the burdens, many of us will never fully understand. And I'm talking about women like Harriet Tubman, who led people to freedom, Maya Angelo, whose words still carry wisdom, and Madame C.J. Walker, who built wealth and legacy when doors were barely open. You know, these women were not just surviving, you know, they were creating pathways. And I asked myself, if they carry that kind of strength, what are they doing? What are we doing with the opportunities we now have? Are we building each other? Right? Are we encouraging younger women? Are we becoming uh safe spaces for each other? Because some women never experience healthy sisterhood. Some learn survival before trust, and some learn silence before emotional safety. And you know, that's why some women struggle to connect deeply. You know, they are still protecting wounds nobody sees. But healing

her and hear her. You know, she has been a true friend, you know, truly someone I consider a sister. And what I appreciate about her is that her spirit is genuine. She does not move with jealousy, she does not bring negativity when I share things with her, and that matters. She listens with sincerity, she supports with love, and she has shown up for me during special moments in my life, you know, in ways that I truly, truly appreciate. You know, that kind of presence is rare, and I don't take it lightly. Okay. Um let's go on to this one here. You know, then we have my Tanika, Nikki, my writer, my cousin, my sis, right? We have been through so much together, y'all. From our younger years into grown womanhood through life, through travel, through conversations, through seasons of growing. And what I value that um we've shared is real laughter, real talks, and real support. You know, those sincere moments matter because, you know, they become part of your life story. And I am grateful that we continue building each other up. Okay. And I also want to mention my good friend Yolanda. You know, she has been someone who's poured spiritual wisdom into me. And I appreciate that deeply. You know, sometimes you need that um one woman who can speak life into you in a different way, who brings uh perspective, uh, who helps center you, who reminds you of deeper things. You know, she has also been there during celebratory moments in my life, but also simply as a sister to sit down, have lunch with, and have meaningful conversations with. And those simply, you know, those moments matter to me. And to my good friend TNG, I appreciate her energy. When I tell you she walks into the room, I hear on the phone, Trina, you know, so um, but she brings a good energy around. Sometimes, you know, certain people come into your life and they bring exactly what you need. Her wisdom, especially when it comes to health and vitality and even fashion, has been something I value. You know, we have come a long way as well, and I'm grateful that our lives cross paths in a meaningful way. And to add one of the newer friendships, charity, who I met through Tanji. You know, this friendship connected uh naturally because sometimes when two women understand certain life um experiences, there is an immediate understanding. You know, we bonded over knowing what it feels like to not always receive support from women. And that honestly created connection. Uh, charity has been such a beautiful light, positive energy, you know, her powerful words and genuine encouragement. Um, what I appreciate most is when someone sees beyond the surface, sees things, you know, and recognizes your heart, your strength, and the woman you truly are. And she has done just that. You know, so it just, you know, I have other women in my life that I could the list can go on and on and on. But these particular women, I do surround myself with them a lot more. Um, so definitely wants to highlight that. And I just want to say when women are sincere, when women are kind, and when women choose to uplift instead of compete, it leaves an impact that should never go unnoticed. And sometimes we talk so much about broken friendships that we forget to celebrate the women who actually get it right. Okay? The women who pray for you, okay, the women who call you, who show up, and the women who speak well of you, the women who clap when something good happens in your life, and the women deserve to be honored too. And those women deserve to be honored too. And as I honor these women, I also have to acknowledge something, you know, within myself. Because one thing life will teach you is that even when you have experienced disappointment, misunderstanding, or moments where you know support did not come from where you expected it to, you still have a

Choosing Softness And Discernment

choice in the kind of woman you become. And I can honestly say through life, through challenges, through relationships, through friendships, and through personal growth, I've learned not to let certain experiences harden my heart. Because that can happen if you're not careful. When you've been hurt, overlooked, misunderstood, or when you've seen jealousy where you've expected love, it can make a person pull back and it can make a woman question how open she wants to be, you know, how much she wants to share, or how deeply she wants to trust you. But I've learned that protecting your peace doesn't mean losing your softness. It just means you're growing wiser, you're understanding discernment, and it means learning who deserves access to your heart, your energy, your life, and your truth. And I'm proud that even through different seasons, I still know how to celebrate other people. I still know how to speak life into others, and I still know how to want good for people. You know, because being a strong woman is not just about surviving hard things, it's about keeping your spirit beautiful while you survive them. And I think that matters, especially now, because the world already gives women enough reasons to feel pressure, to feel judged, to feel compared. So when a woman still, you know, can carry grace, still walk with dignity, and still show kindness, still build, and still love, still rise, that is strength
