I have lived a full life, been married, divorced, travelled with others and alone, been to concerts and festivals alone. I have run a marathon, owned and run my own small holding and separate dog walking business, I ride horses and currently own a rare breed Fell pony called Merlin. I have taken part in dressage, show jumping, cross country and long distance rides. I have been on a South African Wildlife Safari, riding horses amongst zebras and giraffe. I have worked for a Royal College, a Castle on a small country estate, in book production and publishing, for Italian and Chinese companies.
I started my podcast to help me survive divorce, it has taken me on an incredible journey and I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone, doing activities the stories of which are available for you to listen to. I have met some incredible individuals along the way, real people who have overcome lots of different life challenges.
I have found myself having coffee with Paula Radcliff in Manchester, I have met Chris Evans, been interviewed by him on Virgin Radio, I have met the inspirational Richard Branson, sat next to the lovely Jake Quickendon at a charity event and asked him if he was on Instagram. I have worked on my self development, physical fitness and mental health, having suffered from social anxiety and had a massive lack of self confidence and I talk about this in my podcasts. By pushing myself to do all the things I talk about in my podcast, I have built up resilience. I am now mentally strong enough to date and my podcasts are currently on this topic. There are interviews with some truly inspiring real people to have a listen to, real life role models, who have overcome real life situations which you can listen to for advice and encouragement to help you through life.
Oh and I am James Blunts girl from the subway and it's not just the one song! I didn't want to be famous or judged for not being as beautiful as people imagined me to be, as I look in the mirror and don't see it, true beaty is within you. I also don't want to be known as that woman that the song is as about. I am my own person and its important that I have my own identity.

What have I been up to this week? Have a listen to find out about my Meiners Disease diagnosis, I don't let it stop me from doing things I want to do though. I remembered the end music this week!
Hi everyone and welcome to this week's edition of Catherine Lormer's Guide to Life Podcast. How are you all doing, guys? Hitroller K, all good? Yep. Did anyone notice what was missing from last week's podcast? Yeah, the music, wasn't it, at the end? I was really, really tired, absolutely knackered. And we were just about, I was rushing because we were going out for the wedding, which um which is a thing we were going to. I shoved a picture on Facebook. Um not Facebook, Instagram. Well, it was on Facebook as well, but Instagram. Um yeah, and uh instead of pressing the music button, I just pressed the stop button. I thought, oh, well, I haven't got time to redo that again now, so I'll just put it out without. Because you know, at the end of the day, things things happen in life, but it doesn't really matter, does it? You know, I mean if you've done something wrong or stupid, then just make a joke about it. And just so I that's why I shoved the Instagram post up to someone noticed what's what was missing because that's what was missing. Anyway, I'll try and put it in this week. I can't guarantee it. But I'm in less of a rush, okay? I've given myself a whole hour, okay, before my optician's appointment to do this this morning. Friday morning, so we're not even leaving it last last minute. I've got a bit more time, and uh oh, and the other thing as well, I forgot to tell you that the thing that the dog was barking about the week before, okay, thunder, right? Yeah, doesn't like thunder. So that was the issue. I'm not used to that because Pippa doesn't care about like thunder and fireworks or anything like that. It she just kind of goes, Yeah, there's a firework going off. Mmm, whatever. Here's my toy, here's my fluffy llama. That's all she's really interested in. Um, right, so how did I get on wearing the wrong prescription contact lenses? Okay, right. So I think I'm I think mine were 4.75 last time I had them, which they weren't quite right to be fair. So I think they're probably about five something now. Anyway, my partner's contact lenses. He's like, I've got some contact lenses, right? They're there's six. I was like, well, that's a bit more than mine, but okay, we'll give it a go. Because I didn't get them in time. So um, hence the the optician's appointment to go and pick up the ones that I have got. So I'll have them for next time. Um, because we've got something else that we're going we're going to in December. It's quite exciting. We're getting invites for things. It's it's cool. Uh yeah. So do you know what? I saw perfectly, no issues whatsoever. It was fantastic. So, do you know what? Sometimes the although you know your prescription changes slightly, it's such a tiny change that actually you're not really going to notice that much. And I went to a different, I usually go to Spec Savers, okay. And usually they'd be like, Oh, you're but your prescriptions change, you need some new glasses, right? And I went to boots this time, and they actually said, Well, your prescriptions change tiny, but you know, it's not really worth you getting a new pair of glasses if you're not really getting headaches and you're not really gonna notice this much, but we'll make the contact lenses the right prescription. So I was like, right, okay then. Um I don't wear them very often, just wear them for sort of nights out. Um, yeah, so uh yeah, but so so uh if you were so if you do, you know, worrying a bit too much about like the percentages, then it just not really make that much difference. Uh so what else did I have to do? Um so this week, um often went off to a poll clinic. You may have seen a little video clippage that John very kindly took for me. Um and do you know what Merlin was an absolute superstar? He's been to that venue once before, but we've only done the farm ride, and it was a couple of years ago, and he had a friend with him. So I unloaded him, okay, and he's like he's on his own in the car park, right? He gets a bit impatient, so I have to get on them and I get on. He settles down then. So we then took him into this absolutely massive, like, you know, arena. I mean, it's like a you know, a really, really big venue where they do lots of like really big events, so it's not as if it's like a small sort of school. He'd been in a school, small school once, massive a stadium arena. Um, and they'd had like a competition earlier on in the day, and they had all these fancy sort of dressage boards out and and like, well, it's little fencing, and they had like loads of flowers and stuff like that. And a lot of horses would have been like, Oh my god, that might you know I might die, you know, and they'd be really spooky. And he spooked once because someone shut a door behind him. Um, apart from that, he was an absolutely little superstar. He was there was only one thing he didn't like, okay, and it's on YouTube. I shoved it on YouTube, it's a green pole. Okay, all of the poles he went over, no problem, but there was this one green one, he really did not like it, and it's just really funny. Um, but so but you know, but it was it was such a good experience, and he was just such a good pony. We were in with a different horse that we didn't know, never ridden before, not sure. I mean managing to cancer them as well, which you wouldn't usually do unless you've got two riders and horses that are really, really good. Um, so I was so proud of him. But the day before, just to take the edge off, okay, I took him on a farm ride. Um, and uh it'd been advertised the week before they were doing it for breast cancer. I I couldn't make it, I was busy. Um, but and then also I thought, right, I'll I'll go the next week and just go on my own. That was the only person there, and um, and it was great because there was loads of really like small sort of jumps, and they're all flagged, and he hadn't really jumped anything with flags on before, just kind of not really sure about this. But bless him, he went over so you know, pretty much everything I asked him eventually. The first one he sort of like looked at it, wasn't really sure, and I made him sort of step over it. Um, but no, he did, he did, he jumped all of them. There wasn't any that he was like, No, I'm not gonna go over that. He went, he went over everything, and even like one with like plastic flowers on, waving around. He was uh he was absolutely fine. He was such a little superstar, so proud of him. He was just absolutely fantastic. So this week I have been um hunting around for things to go to. I was like, there's some a few clinics that I can go to to go and do some more stuff on him. Um, so watch this space and see what I'm doing with him next. I also uh razzed him around the field in the week, and uh we popped over a couple of logs. So there's three logs in the field. I've jumped the smallest bit of one of them before, and I've jumped the end of the other one that's kind of like sticking up in the air that's a bit smaller, and the other one, there's another one. So I so at this point I was like, right, okay, I'm gonna try and jump the highest bits of all of them. So I did that this week, okay. I jumped the smallest one, then I took him over the biggest part, the middle bit, which is like it kind of sticks up in the air a bit. It's difficult to describe really. Um, and then I jumped um the biggest part of the of the the other log. So there's there's three other logs in a different different field, um, and I've been along to have a look at them. I got this is really technical. So a lot of the um competitions they start at 40 centimetres, and some of them are 50 centimetres. So I've got to make sure he can jump 50 centimetres really before I start taking him out and doing any competitions on him. So uh I took Bipper along and uh we had a look at the logs, and there's three in the other field. So there's one that we've jumped before, um, and then there's um another two, and the other two I haven't sort of tackled the biggest parts of them. So it kind of went along. So before I went, I measured my leg so I could tell where 50 centimetres was. Um and I'm like, right, okay, so we need to be able to jump that comfortably, okay, before I can start taking him to uh, you know, to sort of competitions and that. So I will I'll work on that in the school as well in the next sort of few weeks. And there is a competition coming up locally, Hunter Trials, um, that I'm thinking of going in for. I'll need to get myself body protector. Um, but we'll see how we go. We've got everything else we need, I think, pretty much. Um, yeah. So we'll just we'll see how we go with that and see what happens. Um, but you know, because you have to kind of get out there, don't you, and and go and do these things. Uh so what else did I do? So I helped uh had to go and weigh, I got a message from mother. Can you heck can you come weigh Winston? Winston's the cat, okay. Uh I call him a serial killer because he is just quite lethal. He's a black cat. And he used to be my farm cat, and my uh parents have ended up having him. And uh yeah, can you come weigh Winston? So off I go. Way and Winston. So they can't pick him up, okay? He's he's quite vicious. Like I mean, I'm laughing, but actually he did actually attack my dad quite seriously, and it got a little bit infected. Um, so he is really quite quite an vicious cat. Um, and for some reason, and uh so so what I have to do is I have to stand on the scales, weigh myself, pick Winston up, stand on the scales of Winston, put him back down again, deduct the difference, which I did, it was fine. And um, so uh so off I go, literally pick him up off their bed, yeah, on the scales, he's like purring away quite happily. No, it doesn't react at all to me, doesn't do anything, and I bob him back down again, mum back downstairs and mum, right? Okay, he's uh ex-way. And she's like, Did he not attack you or anything like that? And I'm like, no. She's like, Well, I can't pick him up. I'm just like, well, he lets me pick him up. But the reason he lets me pick him up is because he was a rescue cat and I was the person that rescued him. And they remember these things. Um, because when I first got him, I used to have to pick him up with a pair of really thick gloves on because he really would attack you quite savagely. Um, so so I've so I've waited, I've weighed Winston for the he doesn't wait, he doesn't change that much anyway. But and he doesn't really need worming, he weighted tons, so he's there's definitely nothing wrong with him. Um so I dropped Pipper off for X-ray as well this week. Um, yeah, small fortune on Vets bills. Um I had I have had some help with it, so thank you for that, people who have helped me. Right. So um I dropped her off for X-ray. Uh, and yeah, because she's not been right, we had a bit of an incident um where her kind of whole sort of back end sort of went a bit funny and a tail kind of went a bit weird. And so she has got mild hip dysplaxia, but it's never gonna need um operating. But it does mean she's got um, you know, we so she's back on um anti-inflammatories for a bit, and then she which and she's now racing around like a complete nutter, and she's also having um oh what they call you move tablets, um, and and the vet thinks we'll be able to just manage it with the you move tablets, um, which is quite good. So that's that's all positive news. And it said just keep walking her. So we're doing that. Um, we're still getting a little bit of uh urinary incontinence as well, um, but it's not as as bad as it was, so that's all good. It's all good. Um, although unfortunately, I think uh obviously um the other dog, Flash, uh, he's a bit older. I think he's a 10, nine or ten. And uh I think he was a little bit envious of all the attention that um Pippa's been getting because he was zooming around and um he then he literally something happened um and he kind of like rolled around. I mean, I I like from describing it, I'm the vet thinks it's soft tissue damage, but um, I don't know. I I feel you know, he really was rolling around. I wasn't there, but from the way John described it, he was rolling around as if something had snapped. But we'll see how it's going. He's on anti-inflammatories as well, so it's like we're having to remember which dog gets which thing. So Pippa's having one tablet in the morning with her feed and one tablet in the evening with a feed. Then she's got to have another tablet half an hour before she has her her tea um in some peanut doggy peanut butter. And then I've got to give her at the moment a loading dose, so six tablets of this you move in the morning. So it's a lot to remember. And now we've got flash, so it's all on a post-it note now, ticked off which time they've had it all. So this is quite a lot to remember. Um so uh uh, you know, so there's there's been a lot going on, and then um I had uh finally had an ENT appointment um on a Sunday, would you believe? Because that's what we're doing now in the hospital. Um we do work Saturdays and Sundays, which people or until eight o'clock at night, which I think people sometimes are a little bit surprised about. But um, I had uh my ENT appointment, and um so I kind of was like, yeah, do you know what? It's uh yeah, so I did when pull on my I sorry I first of all I had an audiology appointment and they tested my hearing. Um and I know I can't hear in the left ear anymore. I was I was already well aware of that, and then and he saw and he was like doing lots of different things. He did the test with both, and then all of a sudden he's like just focused on the left ear, and I was like, Yeah, no, I know I can't hear in that one properly. Um, and also, and I went through all the symptoms, and apparently the sound, the hearing loss bit doesn't isn't typical of many years, but he said all of the symptoms are. Um I've you know, I described my vertigo um that I've I've had, you know, I've had and I know it's caused by the low level lighting. Um also I feel a bit rubbish if I've like so I've been struggling this week, so I've had I've had alcohol. Um I've I've we myself are chocolate, I haven't had chocolate for ages. I've had a chocolate mousse, but I haven't had any proper chocolate, and um because it's you know, because it's all got like salt and stuff like that in it. So I don't eat any processed food. Um I can't, apart from the the yogurt of um the mousse, obviously, um and yogurt, I suppose that's processed food. Um, and then you know, so I kind of also have to limit a coffee. So I've just been having one coffee um this m this this week. So all the good stuff I can't really touch it, which is really frustrating because if you have polyocystic ovary syndrome, you really crave sugary things, and they're the things that make many airs worse. So it's it's it's challenging, it really is. And you know, the older you get, the more things that you know you get wrong with you, don't you? So I think that's why I'm even more determined now to go out and do everything while I still can. Um, a little bit of a balance issue this morning, you know. So we'll see how it goes. So I I opted not to ride, I'll probably ride a little bit later on. Hopefully, I'm feeling a bit better. Yes, it was okay. Um, but you know, it's stressful. So I wasn't I haven't been sleeping very well. I keep waking up at three o'clock in the morning. Um, I had done it for about three nights, and I think, you know, sometimes if you've got a lot on your mind, um, you know, you're overthinking, your brain's really active, then well, sometimes you you're not gonna sleep very well. Um, and there's nothing much you can do about that apart from just take a bit of time to sort of relax and go, do you know what? We've had this thing with Pippa, and then two days later you've had this diagnosis that you think you've had of something that you've suspected you've had for years, but now you've actually got confirmation that yeah, it is that. Well, it's no wonder, you know, you're gonna be a little bit stressed by it all. And then on top of that, plus the this whole massive thing that's going on in the background, um, you know, to do with James Blunt, it's like you know, it's like it's massive stress and massive pressure, you know, that you know, you can't help but kind of feel. Um, and it's all about how to kind of like you know deal with it all. And I I think I said I'm gonna I'm gonna try and record something. Um I want to kind of kind of do it as a as a YouTube thing, um, but it's it's the way I've done it so far, it's not quite right. Um, I've got an idea and it'll be going out um around Christmas time. Um and there's a reason it'll be going out around Christmas time, okay. Um, and that's because the midpoint between mine and his birthdays is actually Christmas Day, so it's gonna be going out around Christmas time, um, because that way I can get the time to do it properly because I I did it, I did it all, and I was like, it's not quite right. And then I was driving in the car and I thought, oh my god, I've missed that bit out, which is a bit of a crucial bit. So I'm trying to remember all of these things, and it'll be it'll be about half an hour long. Um, it'll be an interesting watch for everybody, okay. So I've I've already sent a little clip to my to one of my friends and said, uh, and she's like, Yeah, definitely that that'll work, that'll be good. So I was like, right, okay, well, we'll see how we go, that'll be fine. And um, so what what else did we do? Um, yeah, so I haven't really particularly feeling particularly well, and when you're kind of feeling not very well, you kind of crave rubbishy food, don't you? Which for me in particular is just the worst thing that I could eat. So I've been having like a salad with seeds and nuts, potato salad, I made some potato salad with spring onion and some chili seeds, and shove some horseradish in it to give it a bit of a kick. I didn't tell John, I said, I made some made some potato salad. Uh you know, he just made it with mayonnaise. And I didn't tell him. So it's like he mixed a few things then, and he's eating it going, oh it's quite funny. So it was it's quite nice, it's you know, it's something a little bit different. Um, and what else do they do? So there's there's things that kind of like you kind of key things that you really need. You need to feel warm and comfortable. Um, eat nice food, don't you, and not be stressed about worrying about things. So it's difficult because we've all got stress going on in our lives, okay? Be it on a massive scale or be it on a small scale, everybody has some kind of stress going on. Um, but so what I did as well, I kind of like I snuggled up um under a blanket. Um, I had my like fluffy socks on so I felt nice and comfy. Um, made myself a hot chocolate because I still allow myself those. Um, and as I say, I was probably a little bit run down as well from doing because I've been doing like extra hours and stuff, but that's coming to a stop this week. Um, mainly because um the teenager, she's off to university, which is great for her. Um, but it means that we won't have anyone to look after the dog, so we're gonna have to be um right. So we're already going through our diary, right? When are you here then and we're here then and I'm that, and so it's you know, it's gonna be quite challenging. Um, because you know, uh we've we've kind of really relied on on her to look after them. Um you know, and I think as I say, sometimes you kind of say I've been a bit run down from doing a bit too much work, um, and say a bit stressed about Pippa and a bit worried about myself. And that's when the time that you actually kind of have to acknowledge those things, okay, go out and do some fun things, take your mind off everything, but actually say, Do you know what? It's okay to feel like that. Um you don't have to feel great all of the time. Um, you know, we having a laugh and joke and everything, that's fine. But you sometimes you don't feel like that, do you? You feel pretty miserable, especially if you're dealing with um a health issue. You know, also it's finances, you know. Um the dog's fet's visa about £1,000 this month. So fortunately, um a very kind person has donated quite a lot of money towards that and really appreciate him doing that. Um he didn't need to, and it was amazing. And uh you know, so it's it's just kind of the way that that kind of like that things are. I mean, you know, so how do I get through it? Okay, so I'm just thinking, I you know, I I have a really, really busy life. Um, I work a lot, I have a pony, I get up and do that, I ride that, I take that to places, have a dog as well. To be fair, I haven't really been walking her as much as I usually do because I've got very kindly Johns helping me out, but that's the part of it as well, isn't it? That you kind of like um oh fantastic. Sorry, I've just got a little messagery from him, the legend himself to say he's got Jake Bug Jake Bug tickets. So I'm really, really excited for that. Woohoo! Very excited. Love Jake Bug, and he hasn't seen Jake Bug, so yeah, dead excited for those. In Liverpool, I think it is next year. Yeah, so I think that's ones we went for anyway. So he's absolute legend. Uh, you know, so and it's things like that. You have to, so that's what I do as well. I set myself things, challenges and things to let look forward to. Um, but sometimes we don't always achieve those challenges, do you? And that's all right as well. Like, for example, you know, I was supposed to do run 10 miles in August, okay, for the children with cancer. Well, and I donated like 20 quid to it, so it's fine. Um, but I didn't manage to do it. I only did about six miles, and I just didn't have enough time or I wasn't very well. Um, and it's not like me to not do challenges, to be fair. I'm usually really, really good at that. Um, but I just didn't, you know, I didn't just didn't have enough time. Um, and consequently, it was supposed to be training. I was I've signed up for a 3k 5k run, sorry, um in uh tom was it supposed to be tomorrow morning. Um, I'm not gonna be able to do it, okay? It's and I've and because I've been not well, I've had vertigo, um, you know, I've got this thing going on with my ear, and I think I just have to accept that I it's just not gonna happen this time, okay? And and that's important too. You know, we can push ourselves and push ourselves, but actually we have to get to the point where we say, Do you know what I can't do it, and that's okay, you know? So just park that there, just accept you can't do it. I probably can't really run much anymore, you know. Um, my ankles are feeling a lot better for not running. It's still it's so I'm still walking and I'm still riding. I'm thinking, well, why don't you change your focus to uh to focus on doing things with the horse as well? Because you can do that, okay? Um, and that's all fine now. So I'm I'm doing that instead. So hence the reason I've been jumping him a little bit more, um, giving myself targets to aim for, um, potential competitions and potential clinics that I can do. I'm looking at joining a riding club as well, one that does loads of different clinics. Um, so there's all things that I can kind of do. Obviously, it's difficult to fit them in around my work, so a lot of them are in the evenings when I'm working, so it's quite tricky. Um, I have to take some time off work to do them. So I've got to, you know, got lots to think about, lots going on. Um, work starting to get in the way, really, but there we go. You know, you have to do it really to get through life, don't you? It comes a bit of a pain. Um, and then then there's one thing as well. So I think I've mentioned that um, you know, John's house needs a little bit of work doing to it. Um, it's not been had much done to it for a fair few years, so we're embarking on a process. Um, and the first things are um, you know, getting some so I think I said some security lights put up outside and some lights so you can actually see up the driveway in the winter, and we can actually find the front door lock if we've been out at night, because that's a problem at the moment. Um, and it's a simple solution, isn't it? And there's also a cupboard in the house, and I'm like, right, this needs a light. Can we get a light put in here, please? Because you can't find anything anyway. There's too much stuff in it, but then we can't actually see anything to find anything either because there's no light, you know. You kind of need a head torch to, you know, to sort of like like try and find anything. Um, I just kind of go, I can't find it. Can you you can you get it for me, please? It's just one of those things. Um, and then also, yeah, we're having some new windows as well. So we've we've got the double glazing people out and uh And it's it sort of went like this, and he's like, Yeah, that colour's quite nice. And I'm like, I like that one. Yeah, you know, you can you know who won, don't you? Yeah. Um, and the the quote came through um addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Blinken, because that's who they will have had on their records. And he was like, you know, it was just it was a bit of a weird moment because he sent it over to me and I thought it felt a bit weird. I was like, but you kind of feel like you've you know you've lost your identity, do you? And I was like, well, and you're kind of like thinking, well, you know, I couldn't possibly call, but you know, have a surname beginning with B. My initials would be Cab, you know, when it's not who I am, you know, I'm Catherine Lorimer, that is my name, that's who I've been for like 20 plus years. And you still sort of like think it all, you know, you kind of like, I just say, well, yeah, so I kind of had that, but I remember, I remember um when I was at university, um we had a problem with damp at one of our houses, and we ended up moving, I ended up moving to um uh my second cousin's house. Uh, and I got the train and lived at his and got the train all the time, and he was getting double glazing at the time as well. And they kept uh asking and say and calling me Mrs. I'm not gonna say his surname because it's a it's an unusual surname, but it's we'll just say Mrs. Bloggs, shall we? Um, and so Miss Mrs. Bloggs, so it became such a joke, and they kept phoning up, going, Is that Mrs. Bloggs? No, it's not, I'm just a lodger. So I ended up we had it, it was just yeah, it was ridiculous. Um, so I ended up, I used to sort of set assign the Christmas cards and everything, Mrs. Bloggs, and he listens to this podcast, so he'll be laughing because he'll be remembering that. And I was known for years, okay, before I got married, I was known as Mrs. Bloggs. So it's it's you know, it's just one of those things, isn't it? Um, but I say it did prompt a whole kind of like thought process about it all. And it's like, how would I how do I feel about being called that? You know, that's not my name, you know. It's like, you know, and we kind of and that's another thing as well. So that prompted more thought because this is how my brain works. I thought, well, you know, why do why do women have to give up their surnames? Why shouldn't men give, you know, give up their surnames? Why does it, why does it have to be that way around? You know? Just like I don't see the point of it all. You know, it's it just seems unfair, really, doesn't it? You know, it's like, I mean, to be fair, I was quite happy. I used to be a Smith, okay? I was quite happy to offload that one in the beginning. Um, no issues whatsoever with offloading that. Um, but I just don't know how I'd feel about it at all. And yeah, so that's a bit of a strange one. Anyway um, so yeah, so but you know, I know some I think maybe sometimes now you get a lot of like um, you know, uh people kind of with double barreled names, which you know sound a little bit precocious sometimes. And um I think you know, but I can understand now why you wouldn't want to maybe drop your surname, you'd want to keep it and make it a double barreled name. You know, it's just I'm not quite sure, you know, but it's yeah, it's just anyway. So that was just the that was my thought process around that whole thing. Um and it's you know, it's good to kind of think these things through, isn't it? As well, yeah. All right, so and you know what? I've just sorry, I've got my watch now connected to my phone, which means I get text messages, WhatsApp messages through, and I just pause for a moment. And um, I've just had such a I've had a really, really lovely message, okay, and it's actually brought me to tears, um, which doesn't happen very often. Uh, but it's from a um it's from an like a friend, I well, it's not even a friend acquaintance that I had a new year's a I had a big horse, big chestnut horse called Red, and I bought him from her, and she was a friend of a friend, and I was really lucky because um she kept them at her parent him at her parents' house, and I was able to go up there, um ride him on my own, in her arena, and take him out for hacks on my own as well for about a week um as a trial just to see how he got on. And I just I loved him and I got him, and he was just he was a fantastic, amazing horse. And I'd I'd you know, I'd just and she'd I'd she'd put a post, you know, when it comes up, and I'm not even friends with her on Facebook anymore, but she was looking for a house. And I'm and I and I sort of sent her a little comment saying, you know, here's my and we'll keep we'll keep an eye out because we're here. Um, and um, you know, and she because she's she's living abroad at the moment, and uh, and she's you know, she's just kind of like, and then she sent me her WhatsApp number and we'll be WhatsApp messaging of different houses saying, 'Look at this one, look at that one.' And she's like saying, 'Right, okay, do I do this?' And because I've had my own small holding, I'm like, right, you need something with more land. Don't worry, because the grass isn't growing as much and it's getting wetter, so more land's a priority, you can always fix up the house afterwards. Um, and I just said, Oh, you know, obviously he's not with us anymore, and I just told him a little bit, and he's and she's just said, What a lovely life he had to stay with you until the end. Oh, and that's just really, really got me. Because I I own this horse. I'm sorry, I don't cry very often, but I own this horse from um the age of uh six um until 23. Um, and and it I think sometimes it frustrates me because I do see horses being passed around um all the time. Um, and you know, if you do have a a horse, you know, you do really need to kind of like look after it, um, personally, I think, until the end. Um, and so yeah, that's really just that's just set me off. Um yeah, so I'm really sorry to end on a bit of a sad note given it's supposed to be a comedy podcast. Um, but yeah, that has really set me off. So I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna go and apply to that. I'm gonna tell her what I'm doing now. And it's nice to keep in touch with old friends as well, and or get re-in touch with old friends. Um, I think that's quite important as well. Um, so anyway, I'm gonna sign off there. Okay, I'm gonna I need to go and have a shower now, wash my face before I go to the opticians. Um, and have an amazing week, everybody, and okay, and I will catch you next time. Oh, and yeah, I have just the answer to everyone's question. I have brought um a ticket to a Jane's Blunt concert. I've got one for John as well, but he doesn't know yet. I don't know. Drag him there okay to protest. All right, okay, I'll catch you next time. Have a good week.
