It's Thursday, Las Vegas. Here's what's making news in the Las Vegas sun. Southern Nevada is bracing for another dangerous summer. Two years after the valley recorded its hottest summer ever, with a 120-degree day and hundreds of heat-related deaths, forecasters are again pointing to above-average temperatures ahead. Climate scientists warn extreme heat is not easing, and a developing El Nino pattern could worsen extremes in the months to come. Local officials say the region is still struggling to catch up. In politics, Nevada Democrats rallied after Tuesday's primary, declaring November 3rd's general election an accountability day. Candidate after candidate delivered the same message at a news conference hosted by the Dems. That message, Nevada's economy is failing working class families, and they placed the blame squarely on Republican Governor Joe Lombardo and President Donald Trump. Speaking of Trump, he raised eyebrows Wednesday with a surprising take on inflation. When asked about a new report showing consumer prices had jumped 4.2% over the past year, Trump didn't dismiss the numbers or claim costs are coming down. Instead, he said, in his own words, he loves inflation. And in sports, your Vegas Golden Knights face a must-win game five tonight on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Finals.
