The 1,627-acre park, which spans both the north and south sides of the Carson River and extends into the surrounding sagebrush hills, is just outside Dayton in Lyon County near Fort Churchill State Historic Park.

Nevada State Parks is asking the public to help name the park: People can submit unlimited suggestions through an online survey after reviewing an interactive map and guide, with entries accepted through July 15.
